You probably could with the single player, but it's so linear I see not real point. If it was more open world and you had more options in the main game, then I could see it working. But the way COD is these days in the single player department, is just doesn't make sense. With the online mode, it's virtually impossible to get away with cheating/hacking. It could also ban your account and the device you're using depending on what it is.

Yeah, but I think most studios do this, take ideas that work in other games. It just seems like AC is replicating these ideas because they work. But they need to make it different enough to where it's okay. I think in this case it is within their rights, but it is lazy to copy it so close. Many games do this stuff though, take ideas and inspiration from other games. Many have taken the weapon wheel idea from GTA, because it works.

What game do you struggle with that everyone claims is easy?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I played on easier difficulties myself. Can't be bothered to play them in the toughest difficulty. I like to experience the story as well, and on harder modes it takes me way too long and I don't have time for that. -
I think forums and other communities that are made for certain games get somewhat political, but mainly for that game itself, and not in terms of the US government or anything like that. When I hear about politics in this instance, I think of squabbles between forums and communities tied to the game itself.

I couldn't get into the base game. I only played the likes of battle royale and some of the save the world stuff. Didn't advance much in save the world, but I think there are achievements in that mode and some of the others. I don't think they have achievements in the battle royale mode. Well maybe I'm wrong, because there's like stats, but I rarely bother checking it.

What's funny is that one of my high school friends came over the other day and then another contacted me on Facebook about gaming with him again. So weird how that all turned out, especially seeing and responding to this topic. But yeah, it's nice to get back in touch with friends. I might have to get back into gaming with them soon. 🙂

Character designs that didn’t translate well to a screen?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Yeah same, I'm having a hard time thinking of characters that didn't look good. Or maybe the topic is more geared towards video game characters getting their own movies maybe. Kinda makes sense to me. -
Have you played any of the ones before rise of the tomb raider? What about the original games from the PS1 era? I've tried to go back and play some of these games, but I can't get into them like the newer games. Also, I'm kinda worried what the future of tomb raider after all the recent problems they've been having. Wasnt the series bought out by another company too?

Is there any such thing as "overhyped" or "overrated" video games?
Kane99 replied to Clasher's topic in Gaming Forum
That's usually how things go. But it's easier said than done. A lot of the smaller studios need to do more in order to get their games out there. Big studios just do some promo and they're usually good to go. The internet is a huge hype generator, in that fans and studios pretty much hype it all up together. I think fans were partly to blame for the over hype cyberpunk got. The studio went with it and used it to their advantage. But hey, if it works it works I guess. -
Weird, didn't see this topic before. But I'll say this. I think the only place a RDR3 could go is another prequel. Maybe with the focus on the founding of Dutch's gang. Or maybe it will go further back before the gang. Or it could be from another side, or a completely new set of characters that have nothing to do with the base game. This time though, I hope they release a new undead nightmare. 😄

Have you played on a school esports team?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
Yeah it's still relatively new in schools. I'm just seeing more schools and colleges supporting it. Especially with how popular it's becoming. My nephew for example might be able to get into these esports teams for his school. He's not in high school yet, but maybe he'll give it a try. I can see him getting into being a part of a team like that. -
Huh? Are you saying you have more lucid dreams because of playing games in VR? I suppose that's a real possibility because you can get very immersed in a VR game. I know some people who pretty much live in their virtual worlds. But I know some can only play VR for a short period of time before they start to get headaches and eye strain.

Looks like Assassin's Creed Valhalla is getting Iron Man and Thanos armour
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Good question. I have no clue as to why these games taking place in the past include modern additions. It's like with call of duty adding characters from attack on Titan. It just doesn't make any sense. I mean, I guess it's kinda cool and all, but it just doesn't make any sense. -
Red Dead Redemption 2 fans are planning a funeral for Red Dead Online
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Yeah, starting the game off, the dead eye auto selects people. I hate when it did that, but eventually you are able to manual mark enemies instead, which I prefer over the auto tagging that happens early on. I actually made a topic on that recently here: https://www.vgr.com/forum/topic/14849-red-dead-redemption-2-bug-means-even-npcs-are-leaving-red-dead-online/ -
I Hate To Admit It, But Digital Distribution Is Growing On Me....
Kane99 replied to Shagger's topic in Gaming Forum
It's the ease of use these digital marketplaces have. I haven't purchased physical games in years now. I got Borderlands 3, but never played it lol. It's also easier to keep track of the games you have, easier to access them and so on. I still prefer physical games, because I would love to build my physical collection more. But I'm too lazy these days to the point where I just want to get my games right away and not have to worry about shipment time making me wait even longer. Plus you got predownload options, which makes it even faster to play that new game day one. -
Games you wanted to play, and then changed your mind about?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
This is kinda the opposite, but I remember not wanting to play true crime streets of LA, because someone said something dumb about the controls. But I eventually got it and fell in love with the game. Sleeping Dogs was a spiritual successor to true crimes and I wish they'd make a new game in the series. -
Do you think 3D gaming will make a comeback? (3D TVs)
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
Of course, let's keep this on topic. In regards to 3D TVs are they even sold in most stores these days? I feel like the last time I bought a new TV, which was last summer, I didn't see any 3D TVs on the shelf, nor did I see any 3D glasses in store shelves. Do you guys see 3D TVs in stores anymore? -
I think service like game pass will result in us not having to pay full price for a lot of games. Maybe Sony will utilize their psn service to do the same. I haven't bought anything new as of late, as game pass is really all I need and saves me a ton of money. So if a game is too pricey, maybe it's also on game pass.

Does anyone here only game at night? Like you don't play at all during the morning, afternoon etc. For me I don't game too much during the day unless I got nothing else to do. But otherwise I focus on the night hours because it's more open for me.

What are you favorite game trailers, but for awful games? Or games that were okay but got awesome trailers? For me it was probably dead islands trailer, which has been previously mentioned. But the game itself wasn't all that great. It was fun for a while, but got repetitive and boring after a while. But that trailer though. What other trailers sold you on awful games?

Have you ever played against a famous esports player?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
One of my friends thinks he's one of the best players around. I believe he could compete in gaming tournaments and esport events. I've played against him a lot in the past. To be fair he killed me a lot, but we'd always find a way to get him back in game anyway. So maybe he's not a pro at all, and is mostly just good. -
I also like what Funhaus does. They are a group of people who stream games, but they are a bit more adult oriented. They swear a lot more, say dumb stuff and so on. But they like to have fun with all the games they play. They also do skits and little game shows from time to time.

With esports I feel like there is a lot more risk than say betting on sports or other such things. I feel esports teams are highly unpredictable and guessing who can win is very tough. I personally don't feel the need to bet in esports. Plus there are hackers and cheaters who sometimes get away with it, so I don't want to lose out because of that either. If I do bet on any esports, I would need to study it more to know who is good and bad.

Have you played on a school esports team?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
When was the last time you were in school? For me it was 2008. To be fair, esports didn't get popular with schools until fairly recently. Maybe the past 5 years or so. It's still getting a foothold into schools and colleges around the world. I wish I had an esports team back then, because I would have so taken advantage of that. But sadly it was before my time lol.
