Well to be fair, I think there are standard ones that don't move up and down, but there are mechanical ones that do and if you could afford one of those, I'd get that. That's the type of standing desk I want to get, because it's the best of both worlds.

No problem. I know someone who for example is afraid of horses because of a past traumatic incident involving a horse. So this person won't watch or play anything with a horse in it. I think even hearing the sound of a horse brings that trauma back for them.

Been thinking of retiring my Xbox one soon. Or attempting to clean it out. It's been shutting down on my brother and I whenever we try to play rdr2 on it. We get that annoying message after turning the Xbox back on, saying that the console overheated and to make sure the console is in a well ventilated area. I figure it's because it's kinda dirty, and could use a good dusting. Any tips on how to best clean an Xbox one?

The fan base is kinda mixed. I'd say 50% really love the game, while 50% like it, but want to see it change. The first 50% don't want it to change. So they complain. But the other want some change so they complain about that. As for the numbers, can you provide a link to said info? Because each COD has drawn huge profits and from what I hear are still selling more copies than other games. But that of course doesn't mean it didn't have less sales, just that I think it sold more than most games out at the time. At least in regards to vanguard. Also, warzone is free to play I believe, so the userbase there differs a from the main multiplayer modes. But, maybe COD has finally started to lose their popularity. Maybe this will steer them into doing something better.

Videogame Franchises that outstayed their welcome?
Kane99 replied to Yaramaki's topic in Gaming Forum
I disagree about Mario games, mainly because he's been relevant for all these years. Also, Mario Odyssey has been regarded as a game of the year, some even have added it to their favorite game lists. For the most part, Mario is still a household name. I can understand the spinoff games, like Mario party, Mario tennis, etc overstaying their welcome, but I think the Super Mario franchise keeps it fresh every so often and reinvents the game. I mean odysee was a big change. The hat gimmick helped sell it. I agree with the rest of your picks though. -
With the Last of us remastered, yeah that's a fair point. It's not like we have to buy it. I know I won't, because I don't feel like I need to retread that water so to say. I played the first game on the PS3, and I feel I don't need to revisit it with more fancy graphics. But there are other games I would like to see remasters of, but I hope they don't make it full price like most newer games. On top of that, I feel like remakes in general are fine to list at full price, because they're usually built from the ground up. So I can see the price being fair there. But I don't like when a game that's already been remastered releases another remaster for full price. I think they charged $60 for the first last of us remaster.

Red Dead Redemption 2 bug means even NPCs are leaving Red Dead Online
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
RDR2 online was never going to be able to compete with GTA online. There's just so much more to do in GTA online compared to rdr2. There's just so much more you can do, and with rockstar focussing again on that and a future GTA, I feel like rdr2 online is officially dead. I haven't heard much since about this but, so maybe Rockstar did the good thing and fixed it. I feel like they would have to patch something like that asap, even if they aren't supporting the game anymore. -
Quick update about my recent post on power wash sim and lawnmower sim. I finally tried lawnmower sim, and honestly I hated it lol. It was not nearly as relaxing as powerwash sim lol. I did the first level and that was it. Yeah it's nice to just sit back, relax and make a little town, or house or anything without having to deal with enemies at night. I like building without having to mine stuff in order to do it. Creative mode let's you build endlessly. You don't lose supplies this way. But, eventually you may get bored, I which case, survival can be fun. I'd say get some friends together to play. You'll enjoy it a lot more I think.

True, it just looks good on my profile that's it lol. I swear Xbox were going to make a system where you could use your game score for things. And I swear I heard this rumor kinda recently with the release of the xbone. I think they announced plans to release exclusive things that you could use your gamer score for. Or maybe that was some April fool's joke lol, I don't remember. But it would be cool to get something from it.
-
Yup, and with the new rumor of a family share plan coming, it's probably going to get even more games soon. And for sure. I haven't paid for a new game in a while. Well aside from WWE 2k22, but before that I didn't buy a new game since maybe RDR2. I got cyberpunk 2077 from a friend, so I don't count that. Game pass just saves you so much money imo.

How much training do esports players do?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
And the thing about esports is, do you even have the time to devote to gaming so long? As well, can you mentally do it? I imagine gaming all day, nearly everyday can be exhausting. Especially if it's the same game, doing the same things to get good. -
Games you wanted to play, and then changed your mind about?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Another game I wanted to play was the Evil Within, 1 and 2. But after seeing a playthrough of the first game, I realized I would never play these games. A friend of mine also warned me that the controls feel weighted and slow. And eh I can't deal with too slow when it comes to a horror game. -
I can't do it. Gambling is so much different than in real life. I rarely gamble for real. I know the likelihood of winning most lotteries is very slim to none. I've played the mega millions and your typical scratch offs, but I can't see myself spending much on gambling. I'm cheap, and the same goes for gambling. If I go to a casino for example, I'm probably betting $50-$100 max and that's it. If I win big, I'll stop. But yeah, fake gambling in games is way different. I don't need to gamble in real life.

What game do you struggle with that everyone claims is easy?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
The first god of War had some tough moments as well. For the most part, the original trilogy wasn't that hard. I just remember one point in 3 that I hated. But otherwise I felt each of the were about the same difficulty wise. And honestly I imagine the newer god of War games are tougher than the original trilogy. -
Agree to disagree. I was told earlier a response of mine didn't make sense because it was just difficulty I was explaining. I mean, if it has traumatized you, why did you continue to play it? If anything I'd use the word annoyed, or something else to explain that. When it comes to being traumatized, I imagine it being something more serious and sticks with you longer. Like PTSD from war, seeing a messed up thing in real life, etc.

Yeah he doesn't do much stuff with gaming, if anything. I've been trying to watch more Game Grumps, they do lets plays, but lately aren't doing full lets plays, like completing the games. But I'd recommend them as they are pretty funny. Been watching their Family Feud videos as of late. 😄

How much training do esports players do?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
Yeah it's crazy how much esports players have to play. I couldn't do it myself, because you have to stick with mostly one game for the whole day. And honestly I don't think I could do that. I do play games for long hours sometimes, but I don't think I could do it for a whole day, at least not these days. -
Nope, because modding in COD isn't allowed, especially in the online modes. If you mean modifications that are part of the game, probably. But I never used actual mods on COD, because they don't allow it. You may be able to mod the single player, but I honestly don't know why you would.

And I think they did a great job portraying it. I've heard a lot about people who served in wars, and it changes people a lot. From taking a life, to being in a gunfight, being shot, or injured in general. There's a lot that changes in ones mind when they go through such things. They don't come home the same. And I think this game portrays that, because I imagine many soldiers lie to themselves about the things they see, and may even imagine what they want to better comfort themselves.

Aspects of gaming you had to learn to appreciate
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I don't much mind it these days. I remember hating it in AC games, at least the early games, because you had to click a button to climb. But they streamlined it a bit by making it easier to climb in AC 3 for example. Instead of clicking a button to climb, you just walk to it and it auto climbs for you. Made the climbing process less of a chore. Still a chore no doubt, but less of a chore. -
In the past if my main console dies out, I would also jump back into the previous generation of gaming. So if my 360 died, I started to play my PS2 again. I did this fairly often when I had the RRoD, I would just hook up my PS2 and get some more life out of it. 🙂 Yes and no. The first time I played it I got kinda bored with it. Especially after I beat it. Which is why I have decided to play it a lot slower. I want to 100% sent it, or get all side stuff done before the end of the game.

What game broke you of completing all side quests?
Kane99 replied to harleyqbx's topic in Gaming Forum
Back in the day, it was probably GTA IV, as I never bothered to kill all the pigeons. I think it was pigeons, it's been so long, I can't remember. But ever since that, I kinda calmed it down on collecting everything. Some other games I did complete 100% by collecting stuff, but I soon lost interest with the repetitiveness of doing that. I think AC: Black Flag was the last time I collected everything, actually scratch that, it was one of the Just Cause games, maybe 3 or 4. Another game I quit was Sonic Generations. I so wanted to beat the game, but I got stuck on this rhythm section, and it seems I needed to beat that level to continue. I quit right there and haven't played since lol. -
Honestly, thinking this over a bit more, I don't think Nintendo needs better hardware. I mean, with each new release sure, they should up that hardware, but I don't think it's needed right away. Eventually they will have to make a new Switch or console. And it will have to have fairly decent hardware. But, I think with the Switch, they don't expect super big games to be on it. Like, you're not going to see games that run and look like The Last of Us 2 for example. Either way, I think most games will work and look just fine.

Man I miss Donkey Kong games. I think they're due for another classic. I need to revisit Donkey Kong Country, as it's been a while since I last played it. And honestly it holds up really well today in terms of gameplay, graphics, sounds, etc. I also need to get my hands on the other games in the series, because I only played the first and a small bit of the second game.

It's weird that one day we may never have a gameboy/DS style console again, since Nintendo have their hybrid console going. I think that will be the future of Nintendo. Just newer versions of the switch with updated hardware and specs. Honestly, it's kinda sad to see the Gameboy brand just die out. I mean, it kinda died when DS came out, but it's weird to think that we won't have those handhelds anymore. But, with the Switch, it's essentially two devices in one. Plus, they're probably making bank on having just one device on the market.
