Back in the day, it was probably GTA IV, as I never bothered to kill all the pigeons. I think it was pigeons, it's been so long, I can't remember. But ever since that, I kinda calmed it down on collecting everything. Some other games I did complete 100% by collecting stuff, but I soon lost interest with the repetitiveness of doing that. I think AC: Black Flag was the last time I collected everything, actually scratch that, it was one of the Just Cause games, maybe 3 or 4. Another game I quit was Sonic Generations. I so wanted to beat the game, but I got stuck on this rhythm section, and it seems I needed to beat that level to continue. I quit right there and haven't played since lol.

Honestly, thinking this over a bit more, I don't think Nintendo needs better hardware. I mean, with each new release sure, they should up that hardware, but I don't think it's needed right away. Eventually they will have to make a new Switch or console. And it will have to have fairly decent hardware. But, I think with the Switch, they don't expect super big games to be on it. Like, you're not going to see games that run and look like The Last of Us 2 for example. Either way, I think most games will work and look just fine.

Man I miss Donkey Kong games. I think they're due for another classic. I need to revisit Donkey Kong Country, as it's been a while since I last played it. And honestly it holds up really well today in terms of gameplay, graphics, sounds, etc. I also need to get my hands on the other games in the series, because I only played the first and a small bit of the second game.

It's weird that one day we may never have a gameboy/DS style console again, since Nintendo have their hybrid console going. I think that will be the future of Nintendo. Just newer versions of the switch with updated hardware and specs. Honestly, it's kinda sad to see the Gameboy brand just die out. I mean, it kinda died when DS came out, but it's weird to think that we won't have those handhelds anymore. But, with the Switch, it's essentially two devices in one. Plus, they're probably making bank on having just one device on the market.

Yeah to be fair, the PC side of Game pass has been getting a lot better. Pretty much any game that's on gamepass that's also available on steam, is also available via Xbox on PC too. They've added a ton of games since, many of which are Xbox games that also work on PC. I can't complain, because I've been playing more games because of game pass versus if i purchased all these games.

Yeah a lot of the games will be exclusive. But the ones that were announced as multiplatform, I hear will still be releasing for other consoles still. But any future made games look to only be releasing on Xbox and PC. Yeah I think Starfield is staying an Xbox/PC exclusive. Wasn't it announced for PlayStation too?

Yeah I do remember the Sonic Adventure games had decent music. I downloaded their soundtracks years ago, even though I didn't play them. The music from Sonic is honestly pretty decent and catchy. I think that's when Sonic was truly good for the last time. Maybe Sonic Generations like I said earlier, but I don't know if it's something fans enjoy or not. I feel like that one should get more praise than a lot of the newer titles.

Also, I think it's partly to due to the fact that some parts were hard to come by. Everyone remembers there was a shortage of motherboards and other such things, so that could be another big reason for the PS5 shortage. But, I feel like that has calmed down a bit, so I'm unsure was to why Sony can't figure this out and make sure consoles go to consumers who actually want them, and not to the endless scalpers out there still trying to draw money out of this.

When it comes to their sports games, and I believe Battlefield, but I don't think they do the yearly model as much as say Activision with COD or 2K with their sports titles. I mean, you still have Madden releasing yearly. I think FIFA is too. Battlefield is a yearly release now too I believe, but I think that has changed after 2042's failure. It really comes down to them giving their dev teams enough time to make the games they truly want, and not impose some harsh release date. And let them delay games if needed. EA can afford to let their games take more time in development. I think they need to do that if anything.

These days smooth launches are a thing of the past lol. At least when it comes to big studios these days, it seems like with each new big release with an online mode, it always suffers some instability or problems. COD, Battlefield etc all seem to have rocky starts with their games. With MMOs I imagine they're much of the same in terms of starting their online worlds. Of course many of them when starting out, have to deal with an influx of users jumping on, which is to be expected, but when the games are broken as well, is when fans really take notice.

Also, I'd include Shadow of the Colossus in this discussion. I felt like things got real pretty fast in that game, especially with the first colossi or whatever you call them. The first boss is so cool though. I wouldn't say it's hard, but grasping the controls can be a pain in the ass. I imagine the PS3 and PS4 remasters play better in the control department. Also, this may not count since it's not the beginning, but there was a mission where you had to shoot an arrow off the back of your horse into a sand monsters eye as it's chasing you down. The controls for the PS2 version were awful at the time and it took me a while to get it. The key thing was, that you had to shoot the monster in the eye, and it was a tight shot each time. Anyway, I later heard that you can grow your stamina bar by killing and eating lizards throughout the game. This was years later that I found out too, after I beat like 8 colossi. If I only knew about that before, I probably would have had a much easier time slaying the other colossi. 😄

Yeah, from what I saw with The Witcher 3, was that there was so much dialogue to choose from, and it was all voice acted. Skyrim has voice acting for a lot of the main characters, but doesn't it have some moments where the characters just speak via the text box? I know it's kinda like that in the Yakuza games, where it has some voice over work, but smaller NPCs just speak with a text box. But yeah, the animations too are a big one. With Skyrim, everyone acts like robots, at least with their character models. Some of the voice acting is great though.

I don't like talking to most people in game lobbies. I have a small group of friends that I will game with, some work buddies and I like it that way. Makes it easy to converse and relax while gaming. They are currently trying to get me to play Fallout 76, which is kinda an MMO right? Probably not, but It's online so I count it lol. But I can't see myself enjoying the actual people in the game lobby, because I just know I'll encounter some annoying goon who won't shut up. So I stick with my private parties and that that. 😄

Just because someone says a game is overrated or overhyped, doesn't mean they hate it. It could just mean they enjoyed it, but felt it wasn't as fun as what people made it out to be. I think when people say overrated, it's like with COD. It's a great game for what it does, but can often be said to be overrated. I wouldn't say COD is overhyped, because if anything, it has its place in the gaming world and fans know what they're getting. But I do view it as overrated because even though I find it fun at times, I feel it hasn't changed enough to make it a good COD game. Does that make sense?

For sure, and there are many great games with their own awesome soundtracks. RDR1 and 2 both have impressive soundtracks, and I've often stopped playing to enjoy the music cue. Especially with RDR1, because the music was leaps and bounds better than what RDR2 did. There's some good music there, but RDR1 just hit differently when the music starts. Especially when Far Away from José González boots up in game. Can't get more hyped than that.

I can't do bets with real money. I would feel too much pressure and would probably end up losing on my bet. But, I can see a lot of people doing bets on these games and then some. I bet Madden and other sports games have some gamers betting on who wins. I'm kinda tempted to start a tournament with friends to play a sports game or something, could be fun. 😄

Currently in Clemens point. I haven't gotten to the point where you get stranded on the island yet, I think that's coming up soon. I'm assuming Shady Belle is the last camp you head to, but I forget. I'm tempted to complete my camp upgrades before I get to that point, so I need to do more hunting and crafting. I have all the upgrades for my camp at this point in the game, but have to do more crafting to 100% that aspect.

If you're worried about using a standing desk, then I would recommend getting the ones that move up and down. So if you want to sit down, all you'd have to do is hit a switch and it'll move the desk down to a better position to sit down. I think we would get used to standing fairly quickly. As long as you can rest your arms on the desk, I think it could work fine. As well, you don't need to get an actual standing desk. I know there are some lifts separate from the desk you have, so all you'd have to do is put it on your existing desk. Your monitors would go on that portion so that it can move up and down. I was going to buy one before I got my main desk, but decided against it. I think if I come into some more money soon, or better work, I will invest in something like that so I can stand up sometimes while I work.

yeah the original trilogy took some getting used to. I remember played the first game and being mesmerized by it, then by the second I kinda felt played out. There was a moment in 2 or maybe it was 3, where you have to navigate this area while flying. For me I couldn't see exactly where I had to go and ended up doing the level a couple times. I finished both 1 and 2, but I don't think I ever beat the third game. Imo, the original God of War games were kinda easy, or at least easier than I remember.

These days I don't bother with them that much. I have over 100,000 gamerscore on xbox and honestly haven't felt bothered to get every achievement in a game. If it happens, cool, if not, also cool. There are some games I have 100% including the achievements. But it's not many to be honest. Most of the games I play, I rarely 100%. But I do sometimes try, but if it requires collecting random items throughout the world, I probably won't do it.

I'll add this, I personally think that it also depends on the person playing. Some people don't get relief from gaming the way some others do. For me it does depend on the game, because there are games that I have played while being stressed, and it didn't help, or even made it worse. But I think it depends on your own preferences and what you like as a person. Because a game that relieves stress for me, may not do so for you.

There's probably a few times where you played a pro player and just didn't know. I know i've played COD a lot in the past, and I wouldn't doubt that I played against quite a few pro players. I mean, I've dealt with players so good that I could never get a kill on them. So maybe they were pros, or maybe I was just having an awful game lol. But yeah, it makes you wonder how many pros you are playing, and even celebs and other stars.

I don't think that really qualifies as a traumatized moment. Sure you can get mad because it takes so many attempts to beat something, but I wouldn't say that is traumatizing. I made the mistake of using the word wrong myself. But to me traumatized is to be scared essentially. Have those games ever scared you? Dark Souls is often a dark and is supposed to be kinda scary I guess. But I don't know if I would qualify it as a traumatizing game, unless there was some severe gore and offensive content that traumatized you.

The landscape with tech changes so fast, that everything becomes dated by the time it releases. Each new PC you build, you'll end up seeing better products dropping weeks or months later. Phones for example are made to be upgraded almost yearly at this point. You don't need to, but with each new phone release, the tech becomes more advanced, and apps in turn become bigger and in turn hurt older phones in the process. It's the same with PC in a way, in that each year there's something new to get. Phones are just the bigger culprit of this because they make a new one each year with more advanced tech. I honestly don't know how phones keep getting better and better. The current phone I have works wonders for general use. But, eventually it will be useless when new apps/updates and stuff come out that won't work for that device any longer. So you'll then need to buy a new or budget phone to even be able to do the usual stuff.

Working from home is great, it gives you so much freedom. Of course I have to keep hours and all that, but to be able to do the work I need to do in the comfort of my own home, helps a ton. And also, I don't need to deal with co-workers all day, or see people in general. It's lovely. 😄 So yeah, if my gaming stuff ends up dying on me one day, I'll just find something else to do or focus more into my work. That's always a good idea too.
