  1. There's probably a few times where you played a pro player and just didn't know. I know i've played COD a lot in the past, and I wouldn't doubt that I played against quite a few pro players. I mean, I've dealt with players so good that I could never get a kill on them. So maybe they were pros, or maybe I was just having an awful game lol. But yeah, it makes you wonder how many pros you are playing, and even celebs and other stars.
  2. I don't think that really qualifies as a traumatized moment. Sure you can get mad because it takes so many attempts to beat something, but I wouldn't say that is traumatizing. I made the mistake of using the word wrong myself. But to me traumatized is to be scared essentially. Have those games ever scared you? Dark Souls is often a dark and is supposed to be kinda scary I guess. But I don't know if I would qualify it as a traumatizing game, unless there was some severe gore and offensive content that traumatized you.
  3. The landscape with tech changes so fast, that everything becomes dated by the time it releases. Each new PC you build, you'll end up seeing better products dropping weeks or months later. Phones for example are made to be upgraded almost yearly at this point. You don't need to, but with each new phone release, the tech becomes more advanced, and apps in turn become bigger and in turn hurt older phones in the process. It's the same with PC in a way, in that each year there's something new to get. Phones are just the bigger culprit of this because they make a new one each year with more advanced tech. I honestly don't know how phones keep getting better and better. The current phone I have works wonders for general use. But, eventually it will be useless when new apps/updates and stuff come out that won't work for that device any longer. So you'll then need to buy a new or budget phone to even be able to do the usual stuff.
  4. Working from home is great, it gives you so much freedom. Of course I have to keep hours and all that, but to be able to do the work I need to do in the comfort of my own home, helps a ton. And also, I don't need to deal with co-workers all day, or see people in general. It's lovely. 😄 So yeah, if my gaming stuff ends up dying on me one day, I'll just find something else to do or focus more into my work. That's always a good idea too.
  5. I think it's more than just that. Personally, I have always felt like games have helped with my anxieties and some other problems. I think for the most part, you're correct though, as kids just like to have fun and play games accordingly for that reason. But of course, as you get older and learn that life can be a pain in the ass, gaming can in turn become a tool to fight off that anxiety, depression and so on. Of course it isn't something to use in place of actual help and therapy, but games can relax us, help us take out minds off of the troubles of life. So early on, kids may not be using it for that reason, but they will eventually.
  6. One other thing with Netflix, is that there are many other streaming platforms now that are doing just as good, or even better than Netflix. So who knows, maybe Hulu or HBO/Discovery (they're going through some changes), etc could implement their own gaming catalogs as well. If these streaming giants get into gaming, they could be huge. If Netflix can't do it, maybe Amazon or even Hulu could make it happen.
  7. From what I heard it's a continuation of the first game, as most sequels usually are. You may want to play the first to get the controls down and experience the story. A friend told me that playing the first game is highly recommended, but I don't think you have to. But you may go in a big confused about what is going on. I know for myself, I'd have to play the first game before anything. Same with God of War, as I want to get the new one too. But I need to play the first one before jumping into the sequel.
  8. Also with video games, we can do things we can't do in real life. Fly dragons, breath under the ocean, etc. Most games don't require much of you aside from the story, missions and so on. In most games we don't need to use the bathroom, eat food, sleep even. The sims may be chaotic to some, because you're essentially running a life much like you're living one. But life is still tougher, because we have to live it. If we also don't like a game, we can move on from it. In life, you have to live the best you can.
  9. All I know is that he's just gotten a skin in game. I don't think there are any events around the John Cena character, but I could be wrong. My guess is that he only makes money off of what sells while it's for sale and of course what you said about the upfront pay and all that. Also, he may have made some cash from the spray that features peacemaker (character he played from Suicide Squad).
  10. I feel Trevor is a bit overrated these days. He gets too much love if anything. He is a horrible human being in GTA, I don't think we're ever supposed to sympathize with him, or care for him really. Michael and Franklin aren't as awful, because they aren't monsters compared to him. Of course, they aren't perfect, as they too are pretty awful people in terms of what they do throughout the game. But yeah, it'll be nice to change the main character up a bit. Maybe this female protagonist will be more human, or maybe she will be just as bad as the other characters in the series.
  11. I wouldn't say separate so much as it's included with RDR2, but you are able to download RDR2 online separately if you want just the online mode. But with it starting to die down a bit, I don't know if there's a point to buy it. Oh yeah, you still need to buy the online mode if you want to play it. Maybe with RDRO losing support, maybe they will make that portion free to play and open it up some more. That'd be pretty dope.
  12. Yeah I can imagine it taking a toll on people to play nearly all day long. I know some of us could easily play games all day, myself included, but it's more casual for me to play games all day, because I'm not training for anything. But I can see the pressure building if you're a pro gamer, playing the same game over and over to master it as best you could. On top of all that, to stream as well, puts a lot of pressure on one. Or so I would imagine. I can see many people over-training as well.
  13. Weird, I didn't see $25 mentioned in the article I shared, but looking it up further it does look to equal out to that price. Honestly $25 for a family plan is pretty good, considering it gets you up to 5 people on a family plan, which equates to $5 each if this pricing is true. So far there hasn't been an announcement on the pricing, they guess it based off of where it's currently taking place, so the pricing could change. But yeah, I think $25 is fair.
  14. Yeah the new Mario Kart games are pretty decent. I'd say from the DS onward they are pretty top notch in terms of gameplay. And I think Double Dash was the one that introduced us to Mario Kart with co-op/teams. I haven't played most of the Mario Kart games, but most of the news ones I did play, were a blast to play with friends. Mario Kart is essentially still good for couch co-op. You can play online sure, but split screen is still a blast. Most of, if not all of the Mario Kart games are popular among fans. 8 kinda stands on its own in a way.
  15. Oh of course. I knew this when they decided to never make single player DLC after the game dropped. Same with GTA V and how they never released any single player DLC, like they originally said would have some DLC. But, ever since GTA Online took over, their attention has been for online rather than single player. And part of me thinks that we'll be going into an online only experience with GTA eventually. Where they skip the single player story, and instead do a GTA Online only thing where in order to play the story, you need to play with friends via co-op or something. But, I hope that never happens.
  16. Honestly I think it is a hell of a lot easier to be responsible in video games than it is in real life. There's so much you have to worry about when you get older. Life can be chaotic. For me, I try to be responsible in real life, as best as I can, but I've made mistakes, done dumb things and I feel like I am more responsible in games than I have been in real life. There's just so much more to life than gaming. Having to pay bills, take care of your family, buy a house, and more.
  17. For me, gaming is a big stress relief, especially when I'm having a rough day and need an escape. I don't know if it's my favorite form of stress relief, but it can help. I wouldn't say it's the best stress relief, because sometimes watching movies and tv shows does that for me. As well, I enjoy music as well, as that's been known to calm me down when things get a little rough.
  18. I learned that I'm not that good when it comes to MMOs, and probably never will be. I've played some MMOs in the past, but for me, I never really got too into them. I always wanted to, but could never see myself getting too into it. Also I learn I have no patience with most MMOs. 😄
  19. Ones that don't alienate their audience, and ones that are more chill and don't force players to play a certain way. Most MMOs for me, have been pretty good, but I have had issues with people in the past. The audience can sometimes be a pain to deal with when it comes to MMOs in general. A good MMO community is a community free of gamers who make trouble. A community that helps one another and all that fun stuff.
  20. I swear I thought this was already a thing, but it sounds like Xbox will be making it possible to share game pass accounts with family. I guess in a couple countries they've already been given access for family sharing of game pass. Honestly I'm for this, because I believe I could share my subscription with my nephew maybe, so that he too can take advantage of it. Do you think this will be good for Xbox? I think so. You can read more about this news here - https://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-is-testing-game-pass-family-sharing/1100-6506173/
  21. Yeah it sucks, especially if you get their health bar nearly all the way down and then bam, they kill you with an OP attack or something. With Dark Souls that always seems to happen. You get super far into the battle, and one poor move you get screwed over. I can't handle games like that for too long, because I just get tired of being destroyed lol.
  22. Sure, but a they like to cancel a lot of those series, at least lately they have. It seems like every day I hear about a new show from Netflix getting cancelled after a season or two. They've been losing a lot of money, and that's why they cancel so many shows. As well, I noticed they've been slacking on the quality of programming. Some of the movies and shows they release aren't that good. But then again, there are other services out there that have poor catalogs of movies and tv shows and do just fine. Like Amazon Prime for example. But idk with Netflix, they seem to be losing a lot more money these days.
  23. Oh it'll probably still get some service packs here and there. But gradually it will start to lose support. If I had the money I'd love to be able to update every 3-4 years. I'm probably closing in on my third year owning this PC, so it's probably due for an upgrade. It still gets the job done for me, but I know some games are going to be too powerful for me to run.
  24. You're allowed to post links, but there may be a limit to how many posts you have to make first before you can. But I don't remember to be honest. I thought it was 25, but maybe it's 30 posts. Maybe mods like @Shagger, or @The Blackangel can shed more light on that? I think you need to complete a certain amount of posts to be allowed to post links. I'll look into some of that as well. I'm kinda interested in hearing all about the corruption, especially if it's so rampant in the esports community. Kinda don't want to try to get into competitive gaming now because of how corrupt it sounds.
  25. Yeah I suppose. I've played many games early on for just the fun of it, and I would often get good. Like Gotham City Impostors, a FPS that I played a ton of. I remember being pretty decent in it, but I don't think it had anything like a competitive following. It would have been wild to try to play this game competitively. Just wish the game was popular these days, because it's a fun FPS multiplayer game imo.
