Where else can the franchise go though? I think fantasy works fine in a RE game. The virus has manifested differently before, so why can't it create supernatural beings as well? Or another virus that does it. Idk. I think they do this with RE, because zombies are played out, and boring now. Even though their last game had zombie like characters, I feel like they were mostly obstacles than threats. At least from what I saw. Plus you had lycans for goodness sakes. I think we're already into the fantasy realm in some regards.

So this is just a fan re-creation of the trailer, and I guess it's made all in unreal engine 5. I think it looks great graphically, but the character animations and look of the characters aren't as good. Still, it looks way more realistic than it ever has looked before. Check the video out below, and tell me if you'd play this?

The reason it bombed was because they half-assed the production of it. They input some pal games for the American audience, which if you know, isn't meant to play on NTSC devices, and I believe it caused some slowdown of the games. At least the Pal versions. On top of that, the selection was kinda lacking. We expected a lot more for what people were paying. I've been seeing prices for them go up in price as of late though. So if you haven't picked one up yet, you may want to soon. I still need to buy one. Anyway, Sony could make it work, if they actually cared about making the emulation work proper. They clearly rushed that PSC to catch onto the craze of classic/small consoles. Sega made the same mistake with AtGames, and they made a new Sega Gen classic that was actually good. So there's a chance Sony could try it again, even with a PS1 and then maybe a PS2 classic. I'd love to see them try again.

How is it so far? I've been wanting to play it because it has music from Steven Wilson from Porcupine Tree. Had no idea what the game was really about, but if it has his music, I want to give it a go. Isn't it only available on PS4 though? If it's on PC I'll gladly check it out.

Oh I'm aware, I remember the original games being more of a puzzle game where you have to keep these animatronics from coming into a room. I never got into that type of horror game. But this one is an actual 3D game where you can actually move around a location, and it actually looked fairly decent from the gameplay videos I saw of it.

Sadly it's was temporary, just for Comic con, which I believe is over. It wasn't even affiliated with Rockstar, so I doubt they would have been able to actually open up a real cluckin'bell. But, it would honestly be cool if they actually made this. But added a Burgershot next to it/like a co-branded building for both fast food joints. Was there any other food places in GTA of note? If Rockstar got behind someone and made actual locations, that would be awesome!

RDR has a lot of places to go. We've already explored how John's story started out with RDR2, and how it ended in RDR1. But they could always go back 10-20 years to see the start of Dutch's gang, hell maybe we can actually play as Dutch himself. Though I don't think gamers want to really play as Dutch. But we could see this world from new eyes, just like what we got with Arthur. Hell, give us younger Arthur as a playable character. Or, it could be a whole new story in the RDR world with completely new people. Or, we could be put into the shoes of one of the other characters in RDR. Who is left alive in RDR1? Maybe we go back further in time to see what some of the other gang members rise to fame was. Nah, they clearly had no intentions of supporting RDR2 online all too long. From the get go, online was a chore to play, and it took Rockstar forever to kinda help get things going. They gave us gold bars, and guns, clothes and other free stuff once in a while. But rarely bothered to release DLC for the online mode, which is what they seem to continue doing for GTA Online. I think how slow the online mode is, is what caused Rockstar to not keep up with it. On top of that, you can't get too crazy in RDR2 online. with GTA V you can have rocket bikes, flying cars, jetpacks and so on. But RDR2, you're limited to horses and the stuff you could use in that time. I don't think you can even fast travel unless you're in a passive mode or something. Either way, RS didn't show it enough support from the start, and they never cared to listen to fans when we asked to make it less of a grind and to give us more to do. And for sure, there's a lot of spin-off stories you could go to. I mean, we didn't know who Arthur was before the game, so we could always go with a prequel that tells a story about another character. There's a lot a RDR3 could be.

Netflix should really start to release bigger/triple A games
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
I agree, they don't have the money to invest into a game, but there is always a possibility they will just go for it. Netflix has produced content when they were in the red, and they seemed to always get things figured out, or they're still in debt, idk. I think the only way they can get to a point where they can actually make games, is if they bought a studio and just made it happen. But I don't know if they could afford to give it to subscribers for free or with just their Netflix subscription. I have a feeling they'll try to sell it digitally on a marketplace. Not like with the mobile games though. -
Is The Last Of Us part 3 ever going to be a reality?
Kane99 replied to Clasher's topic in Video Games
And it's very likely they'll continue the franchise past a part III. There's always a possibility of spin-offs. We also have the new TV show coming out, which could create new spin-offs there. The Uncharted games made it to a 4th game, so there's always a chance we'll see more Last of Us. Yeah I don't agree with the price. Here in the US I hear it's going to be $70. And I don't know if a remaster/little upgrade is worthy of a $70 price tag when there is already two different versions of this game already. I thought it was going to cost like $30. Hell I think $40 would be fair, but $70, for a game we already played, some of who played two different versions already? Yeah I don't agree with that. -
Here's the thing, Xbox is doing just fine. They don't need to place #1 in a console race, because their sales are good, not PS5 good I imagine, but they're still selling. And I think they're even okay with being behind in sales to the Nintendo Switch for example. I don't know if the switch is outselling the Xbox series X at the moment, but I could see it. As long as their sales are good and they're making money, I'm sure they don't care too much anymore. Yeah they probably want to get to the #1 spot, but I don't think they need to. Where are you from? I'm sure the console was popular in many other areas overseas from the US. But I know in some countries it didn't sell well at all. I think American made consoles are a tough sell in some foreign countries. And yeah, PS is popular all over the world, there are some places I imagine it doesn't sell well, but I imagine it sells alot better than Xbox does in most foreign countries. A big help is gamepass, I think it has revitalized the Xbox brand and has helped increase sales of Xbox consoles old and new gen. And yeah, that PS5 shortage, and scalpers picking them all up, it's helping push sales for the Xbox. I could easily see many parents just getting an Xbox because they're available. And with prices of everything going up, I can see scalpers trying to gouge even more money out of the PS5s they snatch up. I think it's because most of the games don't appeal to the market over there, partly because like that article you shared said, that they didn't try to go for Japanese and other foreign developers. I think getting foreign devs on board, to team up for games, or to even outright buy up foreign studios. It was recently announced that Hideo Kojima is going to make a game for Xbox, so they are making some moves to work with foreign developers. I'm excited to see what they have planned next. Because remember, all of these exclusive titles will be on gamepass.

Is there any such thing as "overhyped" or "overrated" video games?
Kane99 replied to Clasher's topic in Gaming Forum
When I hear overhyped, I think of something like Cyberpunk 2077. A game that was good, but had tons of problems at release, and wasn't what fans were expecting. That game got decent reviews, but the bugs and other issues held it back. So I considered that overhyped for what we got. Over-rated, I would say is oftentimes a good game, but is given rave reviews when it doesn't bring anything new to the table. Call of Duty these days, is over-rated. Because if you ever look at reviews for COD games, for the most part, are high, usually 8's, 9's, and some I'm sure give them a 10. I'd say that's over-rated since COD doesn't change much, and hasn't for years now. I'm pretty sure they use the same engine they've used all of these years, or they use a similar engine. But, it's probably due to them re-using assets from past games to cut corners. If it works, don't bug with the formula, but due to it working so well, they haven't innovated and grown into something fresh and new. That's how I feel anyway. But to be fair, it is all subjective, someone could argue that COD is exactly rated the way it should be, and some will say Cyberpunk had no issues for them. We all go by our experiences with the games we play. So over-rated could be anything. But with overhyped, I think it's easier to understand, it's more to do with sales and how much promotion was thrown at it before its release. If the game didn't do well, then I'd say that is overhyped, especially if there was a lot of promo and fans seemed interested. But, maybe those reviews steer some people away and it bombs. -
This is interesting, I guess you can use this controller to play your iPhone via remote play. So you can play PS4/PS5 games via remote play with this while using your iPhone. I hope they make this thing work for Android users as well. Would be pretty cool if more controllers like this are made to utilize mobile phones more easier. You can read more about this device here: https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/playstation-sony-controller-backbone-ps4-ps5-mobile/

Well I never expected this to happen, but it looks like Cluckin Bell is a real place you can eat, at least temporarily, as it will be taking place, or has taken place at Comicon. They created actual menus, promotions, etc to make it look as real as possible. I kinda hope they make actual stores going forward, that'd be wild. But I doubt Rockstar would ever let that happen. You can read more about this news below. https://gameranx.com/updates/id/336348/article/gta-cluckin-bell-restaurant-opens-up-in-real-life/

Yes, just calling it Xbox I think would be ideal. Maybe slap a ver. number at the end of the name for each new update you do. I could see it working fine. I think that was the intention of the Xbox Series X, to be upgradeable if needed, and so I figure, why not just keep it at Xbox and give it a version number with each new release. Do Xbox 2, Xbox 3, who cares. Honestly it sounds better than Series X. We already had Xbox One, so just jump to 2, 3, 4, etc. Do what PS is doing. Simple.

What games would you guys like to see added to Gamepass? Any in particular you'd like to see? It's been on there for a while now if I'm not mistaken. I think I downloaded it months ago. Great game to have though, being able to replay some of the first two games missions is a nice option. And then to be able to play these old missions with different weapons, adds a nice touch to the mix. You should look into playing some of the original games, like Hitman Agent 47 (First game) or Hitman 2, Contracts and Blood Money. Maybe skip Hitman Absolution.

True, they're all licensing other parts from other companies to make their consoles/devices work. It's kinda weird to think that the Blu-Ray, a disc tech made by Sony would be in a competitors devices. I didn't know that. That's pretty cool of them. I like hearing stories like this about how these two competitors helped each other out. It's like when a superhero crosses over to another franchise or something.

Nope I have not, but I will consider checking it out. I think I tried PUBG Mobile at one point, same with Fortnite mobile and I think COD mobile too. I'll look into this free fire game. Thanks! I'll pass on COD, not sure I want to deal with pro mobile players lol. As for GTA, I don't think they have anything like that for online. I know they have some of the classic games available via download, but I can't do mobile controls for a game like that. I think I'd need to get wireless controller for it, or some controller connection for my phone. Hmm, really? I had no idea Splitgate was on mobile. Is it only available on iOS? Is it available on Android as well? I played the PC version a while back, but wouldn't mind trying it on mobile as well.

Looks like a fun little time-waster of a game. I like these simple puzzle games. I may check it out if it's free to play. I rarely buy mobile games on my phone. But one thing I always notice, is that these mobile games always have to look so similar to other mobile games. The menu with the 3 stars, just reminds me of other games. Just looks lazy to me in terms of design. Like I've seen this look in many other games, and it doesn't feel unique enough. idk.

Xbox is a big name in the US and maybe the UK, but elsewhere, not so much. PlayStation on the other hand is well known in many locations and to my knowledge, they sell a lot more in UK and other foreign countries. Xbox has had problems selling in Japan and some other countries. Yeah, but Sony is still making money because of these scalpers. It's more of a problem for consumers, because they're stuck waiting for PS5s to show up, because these scalpers are jumping in lines to get their hands on as many as they can.

That's the thing, it didn't really need all the hype to begin with, because it being made by the creator of Dark Souls and Bloodborne was more than enough to sell this game. Fans knew what they were getting, and it's for the most part, what they wanted. If this was by a no name studio and unknown team, I don't think there would have been as much hype. There would be some, but not on the level of what this guy gets. I agree. Games can be overhyped in the sense that everyone expects something to happen, and it doesn't go the way they expect. For example, Cyberpunk 2077. I personally like the game, but the hype made it bigger than what it was. I enjoy Call of Duty to some extent, and GTA V, but I would say they are highly over-rated franchises, imo. I feel this way mainly because I'm tired, all played out on these franchises these days. They don't give me the excitement like the older GTA and Call of Duty games did. Anyway, I'm going off topic, I'll end it there lol.

Unpopular Opinion: The 3D effect for the 3DS was pretty cool
Kane99 replied to NightmareFarm's topic in Nintendo
The backwards compatibility was a big seller for the 3DS. Even though it was a slow start, I think people eventually knew the 3DS would be the future for them and so they finally moved along to it. Having backwards compatibility I think, helped sell that handheld even more. And for me, it the 3D effects didn't bug me much, but there were a couple times where I was like I'm tired of the 3D and I just want to see a 2D screen for now. I wish I owned a 3DS myself. I want to take advantage of the amount of games that came on the DS & the 3DS. So many great games I'm missing out on for sure. On top of that, I should eventually get a GB SP so I can also collect GB, GBC, and GBA games. -
Silly completionist things you did as a gaming newbie
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Yeah, I remember when I was a kid I always wanted to collect everything, and I tried to do it. These days though, I have no patience for grinding. Back when I was a kid, it was still new to me, so the repetition was fine. But after playing so many games in my lifetime, I realized that I'm too lazy when it comes to the grinding in games today. It's just to much stuff you have to do now to 100% a game. I want fast paced more these days. And yeah I too still hold onto every weapon. I do this in RDR2 a lot, I haven't stored any of my weapons in the weapon chest you can use in camp or at a hotel. I figure it would be a good idea to start using it, because I don't use every single gun on my horse. And I figure it'd make it easier to switch between the guns I like and need a lot faster. -
Didn't know that was an option with Rocksmith, but that's pretty cool. And yeah, I wish we'd get more Guitar Hero, hell a new DJ Hero would be cool. I still need to revisit that game on the 360, as I have the peripheral and the game, so I can actually play it. I just don't know if I can be bothered to hook up my 360 these days lol.
-
Nice, I have no space to hook up multiple consoles, but it is kind of a dream of mine to build a bookshelf/tv stand combo, where I would put all of my consoles on it, so I can hook them up whenever I want. I would also love to find a spot for my CRT tv so I can do retro games as well. But that's for later. But yeah, I think it'd be cool to have all PS consoles, same with Xbox and Nintendo. I doubt I'd have the room for everything though. 😄

My dog doesn't give a shit about me so much, she's super attached to my dad, so wherever he goes, she follows. My cat on the other hand, will jump on me and cuddle while I'm doing just about anything, gaming, watching a movie, relaxing, etc. He's one who likes to be held. He'll sleep in my arms sometimes, or just handout on my chair. I mostly game on my PC though, so he doesn't sit near me. I've been thinking about setting up a spot for him near my PC so he could lounge next to me, but idk how I'm going to do that.
