From the gameplay I saw, the graphics looked pretty good to me. And I heard that if you had ray tracing and all that enabled, it looks even better. I heard some people have issue with the cat animations and the way the cat moved. But otherwise I think most people really enjoyed the look of the game. I also heard the controls are kinda limited. You essentially move in the direction you want to go and click a button for the place you want to jump/move to. And otherwise it's just running around the world as a cat. Supposedly the way the game controls, makes it easier for more people to play.

What game do you struggle with that everyone claims is easy?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Ah ok, so it's a lot more fast paced and in your face essentially? Makes sense for a game like this. I like the idea of them as well. I just wish I had the patience to get good at them haha. I have tried to play Dark Souls, but I couldn't be bothered when it got super crazy. One of the first bosses I saw, not the beginning one, but maybe a few hours in for a noob, he was in a dungeon I think, I don't remember, but I remember being like, "nah, I don't think I can do this" and gave up at that point lol. My friend who has played Dark Souls, comes over, plays it for about 20-30 minutes and beats the boss with my character. I still haven't gone back to it lol. -
I played the first Dishonored, really liked it a lot. I've been meaning to play Dishonored 2 and the other DLCs I missed, but just haven't pushed myself to do it. I think it's available on game pass as well as I'm pretty sure I downloaded it at some point. But I eventually deleted it to make room for other games. On top of that, my Xbox one is starting to go I think. Everytime my bro boots up RDR2 it shuts down on him. Going to try and clean it to see if that sorts it. It always gives me the error to make sure vents are clear of stuff.

They really should make more games where you're an animal like Stray
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
There are many games out there that have been priced at $60 and have short stories/campaigns. Of course some of them also have a multiplayer mode, or their single player is replayable multiple times, but just saying, there's been many short games released for $60. Quantum Break is kinda of a recent one that comes to mind, well as recent as 2016 was. I remember the story being super short, like you could beat it in a 5-8 hours or something. I don't remember how long it took me when I played it, but I got maybe 8 hours out of it. But this is all subjective. I get not wanting to pay full price for a game with a short story. I rarely buy games these days, if anything I just use gamepass. I don't need every game out there, it's more than enough. Plus I maybe buy a few games on sale once in a while. My budget has been tight as of late though, so not buying games for a bit. -
Of course, Rockstar needs to innovate with GTA VI because it's clear their formula is a bit dated. For the most part GTA and RDR 1 and 2 are simple in how you do missions. You get an objective, you complete it, then move on to the next mission. Each mission usually consists of shootouts, doing much of the same thing over and over. And that's fine, but after a while you can only do so much of the same thing before it becomes tedious. I find GTA at times to be very tedious. Also, the mission paths are usually the same, in that you have one clear path to do the job, and it's usually killing everyone in an area. Well, why not add stealth sections where you can get through it by only killing one person? Or a mission that has multiple different paths you can take, to make the story a bit different each time. I think they kinda tried to change it up in RDR2, but it still felt like the same go from point A to point B, kill this group of people, go back to Point A, but watch out, there's a group of baddies coming after you. I feel like that's every mission in that game aside from a few. It's still a great game, but could have benefitted from more options I think. Najey Jakey on YouTube I think his name is, made a good video on how Rockstar's game design is dated. Found it:

Jumped on Fallout 76 to help a friend move stuff over to one of his other characters. I am just so bored with this game. I played it because my friends wanted me to, but I can't seem to get invested into it for some reason. I suppose once I get to a higher level it'll start to get fun, but I'm tired of the resource management side of the game, and having to constantly get rid of things just so I can move. Ugh! I'd rather play Fallout 4.

Honestly I hope they do announce a new Silent Hill. Maybe Konami has turned a new leaf and they're actually doing something good again. I remember hearing rumors that Kojima was back on a SH reboot, but I don't think that's any bit true. Would be awesome if we could see Silent Hills actually happen, but I don't think Konami would care to bring Kojima and company back. And I don't think Kojima would want to.

Idk, I always felt like the first missions in GTA were relatively easy to kind of get you used to the controls. I'd say maybe GTA IV was where it was the toughest opening wise, but I don't recall having much issue with any games in the series at the start. The first game for sure. But it may have been Bloodborne, from what I saw there's this dude with samurai sword who's crazy tough near the beginning. You can ignore him, but if you beat him, you get his OP samurai sword. But the dude is crazy tough and kills you in like a couple strikes. I watched people trying to beat him, and they had to trick him by making him fall off the ledge lol. But it worked. 😄

I tend to stick with just the creative mode whenever I play by myself. I prefer just creating things, kind of like if you were playing with LEGOs and just built whatever. But I can't be bothered to play the survival mode anymore. Or if I do, it's not going to be me advancing in a story to some ender dragon. I'm going to build a house, farm, and keep building until I can then defend myself a lot easier. But I need to be playing with a group of friends in order to do that.

I actually downloaded it. But have yet to play it. How different is it compared to powerwas sim? With powerwash sim, the main missions don't really require you to keep an eye on water or cleaning liquids. You can run out I think because there's and option to buy cleaning liquids after each mission. But my supplies never ran out. I may try the challenge mode to see if that's where things get crazy.

Why do you mute emulated games? What games are you playing? I love hearing music from retro games. Unless you're using a bad emulator that causes issues with the games sound? Might be a quick fix by messing with the settings. I'm not saying you can't listen to your own music while playing retro games. I'm just curious why. There's a lot of great music from retro games. Batman for the nes comes to mind right away for me. It has some awesome music. Which reminds me, making a playlist of retro game music now. 😄

Also if you're considering streaming, you could also get Elgatos stream deck I think it's called. It allows you to have button prompts for just about everything. They're expensive though, but I'd recommend getting one if you stream. It will help a lot with streams, making it easier to run. I've heard of aver media, but heard they weren't as good as Elgato, but I also heard they're better made these days, so idk haha. I want to get a capture card as well, so I can stream retro consoles. But you need to get older streaming devices for those it seems, as newer capture devices don't seem to include connections for most older consoles and devices.

Which game do you think has the best set pieces/QTEs?
Kane99 replied to NightmareFarm's topic in Gaming Forum
I don't mind when it's easy, but when it goes on for minutes and continues to get tougher, I just peace out and stop playing. There's been other games I played where I got stuck because of QTEs, so I just quick and move on. I can't remember which game, it could have been Sonic Generations. There was a mission where you had to match notes and it got extremely hard near the end and I never completed it. So I just quit at that point. I think I was close to beating it too. 😞 -
I think you'd eventually get used to it. I know people who use standing desks and they love them. Of course it's not for everyone, but I imagine you get used to standing longer, especially if you're used to sitting down for long hours like I am. But I think a standing desk is good for those of us who sit for too long, to help teach us to not rely so much on sitting down. I know some people can't do that, so I understand. But if we're capable of standing, then I think we should do it a bit more often.

It is very annoying. PCs are meant to be upgraded and changed out. It sucks to think that our current PCs will become obsolete and we'll have to eventually upgrade to something new, otherwise we won't be able to game for long. My current PC is still in good standing, but I think once Windows 10 dies out in 2025, I may need to build a new gaming PC by then.

Those are just a couple of them. I think most open world games, at least modern ones, have some form of gambling and betting. I know Sleeping Dogs had some gambling options in the world. I imagine Yakuza seires and Shenmue do as well. I think most of the GTA games do it as well. Watch Dogs series as well I imagine. Essentially, most open world games that take place in mostly modern times, will usually have some form of gambling/betting options.

Red Dead Redemption 2 bug means even NPCs are leaving Red Dead Online
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Well this bug is newer, and has just started happening. With them no longer supporting it, I hope they will jump back to at least fix this. If they have officially abandoned RDR2 online, then they should remove all options to buy currency, because what's the point of giving that option to gamers if the game is broken now? -
Red Dead Redemption 2 fans are planning a funeral for Red Dead Online
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
It sucks, because there's so much potential in RDR2 that they could easily do some work with the multiplayer side of it. But, they only care about their bottom dollar and with RDR online, they clearly aren't making tons of money on their shark cards, so they're of course going to drop their support and focus on where the money is. Just sucks, because there's so much they could do with the game, and it's as if they're just peacing out of it. I hate it. 😞 -
I imagine so, especially with Football (Soccer). I would prefer to play an NFL themed football manager. I think there was NFL Head Coach which was like a football sim where you essentially play the head coach, make plays, cut & sign players, draft players, host training, etc. Sadly, EA hasn't made another version of NFL Head Coach since forever now. I could see a game like that doing pretty good today.

Red Dead Redemption 2 bug means even NPCs are leaving Red Dead Online
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
They could at least fix these types of bugs to allow gamers to still enjoy the online mode. But if there is no NPCs and animals, there is literally no point to play it. There's only so much you can do when it's just players online, because then it'll just be the players killing each other. But, if this is to never be fixed, you can count RDR online officially dead. 😞 -
Red Dead Redemption 2 fans are planning a funeral for Red Dead Online
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
There's just so much more you can do with GTA Online. They can add cars, planes, jet packs, and all that jazz and it would go over well. If Rockstar is set on keeping RDR online as a western game, and keep it grounded in the time, then there's not a whole lot we can do online to match GTA V. We got horses and wagons, that's really about it. But like I said before, if they just added mp DLC like they do with GTA V, like bring out undead nightmare 2 for example, it could go over very well. Hell it'd bring people back in to the online mode I bet. Even though the undead pack was a single player thing, they could easily work it out to an online mode. -
Source: https://www.pcgamesn.com/red-dead-redemption-2/bug-red-dead-online Well well, more bad news for RDR2 online, as a new bug is causing the removal of NPCs and even animals. Some people have reported in the PC version, that NPCs are outright disappearing, stables are empty, the streets of Saint Denis are empty, even animals aren't spawning now. This only seems to be happening for the PC version though, no news on consoles yet, but if this continues, who's to say it won't cause issues with console versions too. Do you think Rockstar will address this and sort it out?
-
Ah okay, I can see that. So these companies are essentially not supporting it by signing up. If that's the case, then I think it's good on these companies for not signing it. Sucks for the people of indonesia, but maybe they will put up enough of a fuss about losing all of these sites/companies, maybe they will change the rules around.

Redditor Uses Unreal Engine 5 to Make Amazing Kayne West Commercial
Kane99 replied to DC's topic in Gaming Forum
Makes me happy to see how accessible 3D/game development tools have become. Now days just about anyone can get into game development and 3D modeling/graphic design, as it's easier now than ever. Of course you still need a decent enough PC to make really big renders and such, but if you can afford that, you can go pretty far. But of course, starting out in this field, you don't need the highest end PC. -
Which game do you think has the best set pieces/QTEs?
Kane99 replied to NightmareFarm's topic in Gaming Forum
Like button mashing? I never played Bayonetta, but I could see it requiring some button mashing like I remember with the original God of War games. I don't mind button mashing so much, but it can be annoying when you have to do it a ton in game. But if it's a QTE like press this button then this button in a certain order, than that is annoying haha. I hate QTEs dude. I'm glad they don't do it as often in games anymore. If they do, it's a small section or quick.
