  1. I've encountered a few glitches because of auto save features. Recently in Sniper Elite 5 I encountered an issue where when I hit a body and died, reloading the autosave, resulted in me still carrying the body. I was not able to put it down. I contacted their support, and they told me I had to restart the mission to fix the issue. I decided to just finish the mission with the glitch, to which I did, but it made it hard to pick up items for some reason. Anyway, that's one reason I need to have manual saves included, because when you have a possible messed up file, you want to be able to go back a save and fix the error. As long as they don't auto save when you're in the act of doing something, like hiding a body in a crate or something similar.
  2. I really need to try utilizing mouse and keyboard more often, just to see if I get overall better performance than a controller. I remember hearing back in the day, that when I played COD for example, PC gamers would often say they were better than console gamers. I can't say for certain if that's true, but I imagine they do have some more control with the mouse. But I'm so used to a gamepad, that it may take me a while to get used to using a mouse & keyboard. But I know there are some games that are easier to play with mouse and keyboard.
  3. It was, and that's partly why it didn't sell so well on its initial release. But since Nintendo stuck with it, people finally conceded and picked a 3DS up, selling the console like crazy. I think it took a while for fans to jump into the 3D side of it, because they too thought it was a gimmick. And honestly it was a decent gimmick, but it was a gimmick that didn't sell that console. It was the endless amount of games released for it that truly pushed that handheld.
  4. I've been playing a lot of that Power Wash Simulator. And before anyone gives me shit about playing a game like this, it's oddly satisfying. I get why people would gawk at it and think it's dumb, but sometimes dumb can be relaxing. Though I am starting to get tired of playing, as it can take a while to get through each mission 100%. But, if you want a simple game to just relax to, it may be worth checking out. I also downloaded Lawn Mower sim, but haven't played it yet. 😄 Oh and I've been playing Fallout 76 with friends, and also some RDR2 from time to time.
  5. Honestly they are probably closing in on the retro standard sooner rather than later. Think of it this way, the 7th gen of consoles came out around 2005/2006/2007. So that leaves us 13-15 years ago. It's 2022 now, I'd say 20 years later, it would be deemed retro. So 2025-2027 is when I think these consoles will be considered retro. To be fair, they are already feeling that way, considering most of the kids that grew up with these consoles are adults now. And when I became an adult, PS1, N64 and earlier became retro. I consider PS2, Xbox and Gamecube retro as well. 2007 feels like forever ago too. I'd consider it retro by now. Especially when a lot of these consoles are being taken offline and becoming obsolete in terms of their hardware.
  6. People are forgetting that some patches cost the studios money. At least that's the way it was years ago on the 360 and ps3 days. I remember when konami didn't do a patch for the silent hill hd collection because it would cost them to do it. And konami just let it be and didn't release a patch on the 360 version. So in a way, that killed it for a lot of gamers, because the problems were never fixed.
  7. Also, what happened to when studios offered free upgrades the newer version? Or the new gen version like back with the 360 /Xbox one for example. Or a lowered fee to upgrade. I think if it's a full on remake from the ground up, then yes charge full price. But if it's just a version with better graphics and minimal changes, than it should be half off the original price or cheaper.
  8. Oh the def jam fighting games. I've been meaning to replay those games, as when they came out they were the shit. Fight for New York I think was the best one, I forget. Those are games that have aged well for their gameplay. They're still some of the best fighting/wrestling games out there. Also the first few SSX games were the best of their genre. The newer SSX was a total letdown compared to tricky or the others before it.
  9. For me it was the endless menues and tutorials I had to do. It was just too much for me, that I just couldn't stick with it. I wanted to, because I heard how awesome of game it was. And the little bit I did play was fun. But I soon realized I didn't have the patience for it at all. Maybe in the future I'll give it another try.
  10. Oh goodness, of course there is. Surprised something like this is even allowed on a mobile marketplace. All I want is a 3d like Sims game where I can do more. I'm completely skipping mobile games though.
  11. As long as we get a full game at release, one that has a clear start and finish, I'll be fine. If they want to expand on the story, that's all well and fine. I don't care if they add more to it, what I don't like is when they make the end game via paid dlc.
  12. Why not have fishing mechanics in games? It adds more to a game and can be fun if done right. RDR2 fishing is simple, but works fine. And it nets you a lot of money in game . I think when you make more open world games, they may add hunting and fishing in more games.
  13. I have a couple of those power a controllers the pro ones. I think they're power a. Anyways those are the only two controllers I have for Xbox that are working. The other Xbox one controllers are broken, or have the analog drift issue. Got one from eBay last year or so and it was damaged. I was too lazy to request a return or refund.
  14. I wouldn't get it, or at the least wait a while before checking it out. Maybe in the coming months things will change and be a bit more fair. But I doubt that. Personally I'd go with the PC games instead.
  15. You could also skip doing side missions, tasks etc. I know a lot of the time you don't need to do all those side missions, so if you want to complete a game with more urgency, complete only the main story and skip the side stuff.
  16. Agree to disagree. I think it could be what keeps the series alive, as long as they don't make it where you need to buy shit to succeed. If they give me a game where I can skate without limitations, I don't really care. As long as they don't charge for upgrades, special abilities etc I think it'll be fine. I don't much care for cosmetics, so that's not a problem for me.
  17. I still use a controller when I play most games. I try to use a mouse and keyboard for other games, but I'm so used to using a controllers, that it's kinda hard for me to get used to keyboard and mouse. it's mostly knowing the buttons on the keyboard, as it's mostly the same for a controller, but keyboard can be different for some games.
  18. Lately I've been playing fallout 76 with friends, and theyve been telling me to put all my stuff into intelligence and strength. But other than that, been trying to balance things out. Most games I play I just try to balance it out.
  19. Not sure what it could be. Could be something to do with your internal storage maybe. If it freezes up when you try to save it might be the hard drive. Maybe the file is corrupt or you don't have enough space.
  20. I might attempt to report the bug, especially if it's game breaking and I paid money for the game. If the bug isn't fixed, I may feel I'm owed a refund, which I may request. Or I'll just leave a bad review and complain to them on social media. 😄
  21. Honestly I couldn't get into mass effect because of the controls. I remember the aiming feeling stiff, at least for me. And I could get into the shooting mechanics. I wanted to give it a try, but I ended up giving up fast.
  22. Saints row is more campy, so killing people in it isn't as messed up as say how it is in GTA games. Older GTA games are a lot funnier because of how the animations look though. Especially when you die as well.
  23. To my knowledge, most games that have auto saves overwrite the old ones. Usually it occurs after you do something like complete a mission, buys items, etc. I always suggest having some manual saves as backups. But I think some games out there save a backup just in case. Or some do.
  24. Thanks for the suggestions guys. My nephew has been getting me to play team fortress 2. I am not that much of a fan though, so I don't play for too long. Any other suggestions, maybe something on Xbox game pass for PC?
  25. Another thing is the ability to decide the story as you go, kinda like a choose your own adventure game. I like when games give me choices in my conversation, and I like how it changes your character and relationships depending on how you respond.
