Yeah they've been on a buying spree as of late. And I think other companies are trying to do the same. Like sony. Anyway, they have a lot of great talent under their banner. So here's hoping they can put out great games. They really need to start utilizing these studios and their talents.

What game would be the worst to live in if you're not a main character?
Kane99 replied to DC's topic in Gaming Forum
And that's why games have a system to stop you, or try and stop you. For example, if I go on a killing spree in rdr2, I could amass a blunt of hundreds of dollars. Which means lawmen and bounty hunters will keep coming after you. In hitman for example, it lowers your score if you killed inoccent people. But it still gives you the option to kill them if you want. There's another game where I don't want to be an npc. The hitman series. -
Top 10 Hated Video Game Companies Fans Used To Love
Kane99 replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming Forum
That's is true, there are still people who will gladly purchase their maddens or battlefield games. But they also own a ton of indie studios and games. To be fair, they have gotten better when it comes to their indie titles. And for the most part, they seem to let there indie crews do their own thing. But their AAA titles are lacking these days and needs a fixing as soon as possible. Recent battlefield was a failure and I think fans are starting to drop out of that franchise because of the neglect. -
I'd say I burnt myself out on GTA games, and any games like them. Just tired of driving to a destination, do a job, go back collect money, repeat. Same with cod games. I'm done with them because I have no interest in wasting my time on them anymore. If my friends want to play MW3, I'll be there. 😄

Yeah I'd probably say bad timing as well, but the scalpers are probably the big issue. They've been making it a pain to buy anything new these days. Even figures and collectibles are getting bought up by scalpers with the intent to sell them for double or triple the original cost. What I don't get is why it hasn't been solved. Like, why don't these shopping sites and stores implement a system to catch those who do buy up too many of one device? I know some stores have tried, but scalpers seem to get through it. It's just crazy.

Also, Donkey Long Country counts as 16 bit right? Makes me wonder, with it's early 3d, wasn't it more than 16 bit? Maybe I'm wrong, but if it is 16 bit, then I gotta say, that's pretty impressive looking graphics for a 16 bit game.

I haven't been watching much let's plays or game play videos as of late. I've mostly been watching Just chatting streams on twitch as of late. A lot of Paymoneywubby and a few others. But gameplay stuff has been on the backlog for me.

Favorite trailers for games coming out in 2022?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Honestly, nothing has really jumped out at me and have me that feeling of excitement and hype I hope for in a trailer. Maybe the recent god of War trailers, but I'm not that invested in those games yet. I still need to play the first one. But yeah, no game trailer has really blown me away recently. At least not one that I can think of. -
Red Dead Redemption 2 fans are planning a funeral for Red Dead Online
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
True, you can get a lot more creative with GTA online. But, that doesn't mean they can't get wacky with rdr2 online. Hell, give us undead nightmare 2 online. That'd draw tons of people back in. Give us the 4 horses of the apocalypse. RDR2 online could be crazy and wacky if rockstar wanted to. I say split the modes up. If people want realism, then they can play the standard rdr2 online. But if they want to just mess around, and do fun stuff, let there be a mode to do it. I could easily see it bringing people back in. I know it would for me. -
At this point I feel like one console is enough. Especially if you only play third party games. If you don't care for first party games as much, then both console would work. And on top of it, gaming PCs often cost a lot more than consoles. Consoles tend to be a lot more affordable.

Lol never heard the word molding for modding. But yeah, modding abilities in stray would be pretty dope. Maybe change the animal type to a dog, or alien creature. Or replace it with a tiny human. Kinda like that little nightmares game. But I doubt they would add modding to this game. From what I saw, it's more of a linear game, so it probably won't give you much creative freedom.

I agree with you there. It's one of my favorite controllers because of how simple and effective it is. It isn't too big, and isn't too small. The only downside of the 360 controllers was the horrible play n charge kit. After a while it would die on me, and wouldn't charge batteries. And then it would lose connection at times. I'm glad they went to usb then usb c for the newer Xbox controllers.

Videogame Franchises that outstayed their welcome?
Kane99 replied to Yaramaki's topic in Gaming Forum
I'd have to say Duke Nukem. A game featuring him today would not fly. His humor is dated and I don't think we'll ever see a new game with him. Unless they make a new game with old Duke Nukem. Where he has to fit in to society and change his ways. But he has to come out of retirement to kill aliens or some shit. I think it could work. I think that's the only way a duke Nukem game could work. He could still be a creep, but they'd have to tone him down a lot I would imagine. -
I game on PC and oftentimes like to watch youtube, movies, or listen to music. Plus I'm in a voice chat often with friends, so I have to turn the audio down in game to hear everything else. It always seems like the game audio is way overpowering. Especially the music. I don't know why that is. But I always have to turn the volume down.

Red Dead Redemption 2 fans are planning a funeral for Red Dead Online

I don't think fast travel is an option in the mp mode. I'm aware of it in single player, but online I'm pretty sure they don't allow you to fast travel. Maybe if you're playing on passive mode or something. I know that's possible in GTA V, so I imagine they have that. Otherwise you'd probably get a warning that fast travel isn't available because of an enemy being nearby. -
Has anyone here ever ended up with a bricked console?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Yup, I had to send in my original Xbox 360 arcade console for repair up to 5 separate times, all due to the RRoD issue that plagued early consoles that generation. Everytime I had to send it off to get repaired (for free though thank goodness), but having to wait a month or more to get your console back was a pain in the ass. I decided to finally buy a Xbox 360 slim instead and that lasted me many years, until the DVD drive decided to stop working for me. 😞 Sucks when that sort of thing happens, but if you're lucky, you'll have a warranty with it. -
With the news that Skate is making a comeback, it looks like the team behind Session have released a new trailer announcing the final release date. This game has been out since 2019 in an early access state, but the final release is coming this September 22nd. I was thinking of getting the game now on early access, but I might wait until its official release. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think.

Remember that tech demo you could download that came out during the recent Matrix movie? It was done in Unreal Engine 5 and I guess there's rumors that this little demo, could in turn become a full fledged game. Honestly I'd be for that, even though I'm not really into the Matrix. What they showed during that demo was pretty awesome. But, could they replicate that into a full on game? I honestly don't know. The game is actually being delisted tomorrow, and that's why people are thinking it could point to a possible game coming down the line. What do you think? I think the reason I stopped playing Cyberpunk 2077 was because of burnout. I liked the game, but I just got bored with it after awhile, and playing it felt like a chore. I still need to beat it, but have been putting it off for the past year or two haha. I would like to revisit it one day, but I don't know if I ever will. I'm just too lazy to jump back in. Plus I probably forgot some of the controls and now I may have to outright restart.

Oh yeah, I've heard of museums and other locations offering VR options for those who are unable to travel or can't due to not having the money. Hell I think they've even done live concerts, and other such events for VR. I found this article doing a quick search: https://www.lifewire.com/virtual-reality-tourism-4129394 It lists virtual places you can visit. These seem to be fake virtual worlds, with an exception for the Realities one they list, as that looks to be about showing real places in VR. And I found this site that looks kinda promising for VR travel - https://www.travelworldvr.com/

Not necessarily. I hear that there are many games you can play in VR that don't require you to be standing or moving around. I get with VR it helps with immersion to be able to move around in that world, but I imagine there are many games that allow you to move with just the controllers. I've seen people stand in place playing VR games, so I imagine some games could still work while being in a wheelchair. Only issue I'd see is the wires posing a problem, but there are new headsets coming out often that are wireless.

The OG Xbox, yeah I feel ya there. I rememeber playing it for the first time, and hated the controller and all its buttons. The black and white buttons confused me lol. I got fairly small hands myself but the Xbox 360, One and series X controllers fit perfectly in my hand. But the original Xbox controllers were a bit too hefty for me. But 360 and onwards is when they kinda perfected their controllers.

Yeah, figured this would look almost like AC Pirates. Makes sense with them wanting to make a pirates game after AC: Black Flag. Which I loved, and honestly thought it was better than AC 3. Anyway, that's not the point. I don't know how to feel about this game. I feel I got played out on the naval battle stuff during Black Flag and the game that followed. I just can't see myself playing this honestly. But, maybe I'll check it out once it goes on sale after it releases.

All those shovelware games is what pushed me to go for a 360 instead. The only game I remember seeing that looked cool, was that Red Steel game. I thought it was so cool that they were able to make a game that allowed you to use the wiimote as a sword and even a gun. I just thought that was so cool at the time. But thankfully I didn't jump for it, because I would have been stuck with a console I would have hated haha. And plus, all of my friends were enjoying xbox 360 games online, and none of my friends had a wii or cared to get one.

Do you think 3D gaming will make a comeback? (3D TVs)
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I'll give you that. 3D can be fun, and can work, but I feel like it doesn't matter so much. Like I said after playing the 3DS, the 3D options didn't really keep me interested. I was more interested in the games without any gimmicks like 3D. I often turned the 3D options off after a while because it would start to bug my eyes anyway. Much like you said you didn't play in 3D for long and would instead turn that feature off. Which is why when the 2DS came out, I was like, that's kinda cool. But, I still would have preferred a 2DS that folded like the 3DS. Didn't understand why they did that with the 2DS.
