  1. I like to buy games used when I can, whether that be through places like Amazon, ebay, Facebook marketplace, or some other places. I am always trying to find deals on games. With that being said, what was the bear deal you ever got on a video game or a video game lot? Maybe it's a lot you bought on ebay, or a deal you got from going to a garage sale or something. For me, the best deal I ever got was years ago during a garage sale. It was an old neighbor of mine, and they were selling NES games, an N64, and more stuff. I ended up picking up just a copy of Zelda link to the past on the SNES and a SNES controller. I think I got two controllers, I forget. Anyway, I should have tried to get the N64 and NES games too, but was new to thrifting and didn't try to barter. But I think I paid $10 maybe. Idk I forget. But what about you? What's your biggest and best video game deal ever?
  2. Dawn of Defiance is a new early access action adventure open-world survival crafting game where you play as a soldier who is spared death, and has to survive with nothing. You can build houses, but can build and make other things by finding recipes around the world. It released mid August, and seems to be getting good reviews lately. But, since it's in early access, expect bugs and problems to come up. I'd probably wait for the full release. I don't like to play early access games so much. Check it out on steam - https://store.steampowered.com/app/2059530/Dawn_of_Defiance/ It's also available on Epic Games - https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/dawn-of-defiance-b4f0ca
  3. Has anyone here played this game? It's been out since 2022, and has overwhelmingly good reviews on Steam. It's a rogue-like shoot 'em up from developers Poncle. It's currently got a port for just about every console and device now, including iOS and Android. But it's also available for PC, Mac, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch. It just released on PS4 and PS5 near the end of August. Who here has played it? Is it worth checking out? I figure this is something that could play on my laptop, it looks like it's not going to take much to run.
  4. I haven't owned a Razer product yet in my life, though I've always wanted to get a mouse of theirs, but never pulled the trigger on doing that. I know they also make controllers for Xbox, PlayStation and PC, so I was curious, are these Razer controllers usually good? I was thinking about buying one years ago, but went a different direction because I didn't want to spend so much. I want to get a Razer controller that works on Xbox, but also PC. Do you guys know of any good Razer controllers that work universally? Like with Xbox and PC, but maybe even with PS4/5 if you wanted to?
  5. When it comes to buying video games at a game store, thrift store, or any store, are there any pet peeves you have when it comes to buying physical games? Whether it be used games or new. I think my biggest pet peeves are scalpers who buy up limited edition stuff and try to sell it at a higher cost. They're some of the worst, especially if you're a fan and just want that game or item they're inflating the price of. Another pet peeve is resellers or people who will go to stores, buy up all the cheap inventory, and will charge ebay or market prices on every game they get. Resellers are often as bad as scalpers imo, as they tend to go to places to get deals, and then go and sell them at a markup later. Another pet peeve is stores putting stickers or writing on the case, sleeve or disc. Gamestop has done this over the years and they've gotten better, but there are people who will sell games by putting stickers on the label even. That bugs me big time. What are your pet peeves when buying from game stores or any stores selling used/new physical games?
  6. Atari making games again, interesting. Well to be fair, this is not the Atari we all grew up with, this is a new Atari run by a completely different group of people. But this game actually looks good. It's an upcoming vehicular combat game and is said to be paying homage to the original Fatal Run game that released on the Atari 2600/7800. This is not a retro remake or reimagining though, it looks like a brand spanking new game with modern graphics and gameplay. Check the trailer out below. It is said to be releasing in 2025 for the PC (steam & Epic Games), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Maybe a switch port will come down the line later.
  7. It looks like GameStop isn't quite dead yet, as they seem to be rebranding across the country to a more retro style store, simply called GameStop Retro. I checked the store locator on their site, but it doesn't seem like the one nearest to me has rebranded yet. Well, I don't know if they are rebranding necessarily, they may still have regular GameStops around alongside these new stores. But I assume they will rebrand to GS: Retro and move to selling retro games due to current and future games likely going to digital only or mostly in the near future. So far, the store is said to sell these games/consoles: Sadly PSP is not mentioned, but I imagine those could be added at a later date. You can read more about this news here - https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/gamestop-retro-stores-near-me/ And if you want to see if there is a GameStop Retro coming to your area, you can use the store locator here - https://www.gamestop.com/retro-store-locator
  8. The Resident Evil creator recently talked about how he wants to move on from survival horror for a bit, and maybe God Hand could be that move he wanted to make. It seems he is very keen on the idea of making a new God Hand game, and honestly I would welcome that move. Would you? I can see why he wants to jump away from the survival horror genre. I feel it's played out and the market is already full up with hits. So maybe this is the direction that seems best for him. What do you think? 9. Does anyone remember playing a game called Shadow of the Ninja on the NES back in the day? I don't recall ever playing it myself, but it's probably an NES game I would enjoy if I got a chance to check it out. Anyway, this topic isn't for the original game that came out in 1990. This is in regards to a the remake that is dropping tomorrow for PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S & the Switch. Check out the trailer for the game below. It looks like a faithful remake to me.

    Atari 7800+

Has anyone heard of this? It's a new Atari console, that seems to re-create the 7800, but updated for modern times. As well, they are releasing a new game with it called Bentley Bear’s Crystal Quest, which is a sequel to the 7800 game Crystal Castles. I don't know who wants this, and I can't imagine it's going to sell very well compared to other retro style consoles. The new console will connect via HDMI, have USB C connections, and will play 2600 and 7800 games. If interested in picking up this, it'll set you back $129.99. It's currently available for pre-order, and will ship in winter of 2024. So right in time for the holidays! You can view the console here - https://atari.com/products/atari-7800
  11. I had no idea about this, but Valve has a new online multiplayer game, or MOBA, coming soon called Deadlock. I guess it's been hugely popular as of late with people getting invites to play from developers, so much so that it has already reached a 90K player count, and it's not even released officially yet. You can read about that bit of news here if interested: https://www.videogamer.com/news/new-valve-moba-deadlock-close-to-reaching-90k-peak-player-count-mere-days-after-reveal/ Anyway, I can't seem to find a trailer even, but there has been some people releasing videos on YouTube of the gameplay. You can get an idea for what the game will be like via the video below. This of course is an early build and there is a ways to go, but many are comparing to battleborn, overwatch and some other style of shooters. Here's the steam page if you're even more curious about it: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1422450/Deadlock/
  12. Has anyone here ever heard of this one? It's an upcoming action RPG. It kinda looks like one of those souls-like games, similar to Dark Souls, Bloodborne, etc. There currently is no release date, but I imagine sometime in 2025 or later. Check the trailer out below and discuss your thoughts on the game.

    SCUM

Has anyone here played a game called SCUM? It seems to be another one of those open world zombie games similar to DayZ. But on Steam it's been getting good reviews. It's been in early access since 2018, but I assume an official release is coming soon. Check out the trailer below.

    Atomfall

Atomfall is an upcoming action adventure game from the good people at Rebellion. This game looks quite ambitious. I am getting kind of a Fallout vibe from it for some reason. It is supposed to release March 2025 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games.
  15. This game looks awesome, it's from the people at Motion Blur. They say it's like a combination of Metal Gear Solid and Portal, and honestly that sounds like a great combination. There is no official release date yet, but I assume sometime in 2025-2026. Check out the original trailer below: And a new gameplay video showing off the game in 4K and RTX.
  16. Dying Light is back and from the looks of it, you may have some special abilities. This was another announcement at Gamescom recently. The trailer doesn't show much, but it does tease some gameplay throughout the second half of the trailer. According to the synopsis in the description of the YouTube video, you play as someone who has gone through experiments. I assume it results in some zombie like powers being given to the player. Check the trailer out below and give us your thoughts: https://youtu.be/nlRgYzaPAjY
  17. The team that brought you MudRunner and SnowRunner are now brining us a game called RoadCraft. It takes what Saber has done with those popular games to this one. The only difference is that in this one, it looks like you're responsible for a construction crew and have to build roads. Hence why it's called RoadCraft. Is this something you can see yourself playing? It will release sometime in 2025 for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam).
  18. Towerborne was recently shown off at Gamescom. It's an upcoming action RPG from Stoic coming to Xbox in 2025 sometime. It looks like it'll have some online co-op as well, the trailer shows up to 4 people. I hope you can play with others, that'd be fun. The fun thing is that they are doing early access for the game September 10th 2024. Check the newest trailer below. It looks graphically stunning.
  19. Mafia is back baby, and it will be going back in time. A new trailer was revealed during Gamescom, and The game is titled Mafia: The Old Country, and it's expected to release in 2025. Do you think this will be one of their best since Mafia II? I know Mafia III didn't do so hot, and wasn't a well received game, so I hope this turns the franchise around to being a good series again. Check the trailer out below.
  20. This game looks very similar to The Sims in that it looks exactly like a life simulator. But the graphics are more realistic. I saw one of the comments on YouTube compare it to The Sims and GTA combined. It's also from the team who brought out PUBG it seems. There currently is no release date, but I assume it will probably drop sometime in 2025. Check the trailer below.
  21. Borderlands 4 has officially been announced. They released a new cinematic trailer, but it doesn't show a whole lot. Which is to be expected being a tease. So now that Borderlands 4 is official, who is ready for it? But it's expected to drop sometime in 2025. So not far too go either.

    MainFrames

This one looks like an interesting platformer. You play as a floppy disk inside of a PC's operating system. You have to jump between windows on a desktop screen to go to the next area. I'm doing a horrible job explaining it, so will let the trailer better explain what the game is like: It drops sometime in 2025 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
  23. Source - https://twistedvoxel.com/microsoft-to-bring-deadpool-other-marvel-games-back-on-sale/ Seems that Xbox might be bringing back some previously de-listed games. So far the discussion has brought up games like Deadpool and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, which is said to be happening as Microsoft is actively trying to renew the licenses to bring them back. If this happens, we could potentially see more de-listed games. I think it's better not than ever considering games like Deadpool are expensive physically. This at least will give games the ability to grab these games for cheaper digitally. I hope Xbox continues to work out the licenses for these games.

    Cattie

Has anyone here played Cattie? I see it was recently released on the Switch, but it's been available on Steam since Nov 2023, and just released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X|S and now the Switch this month. The game reminds me a lot of Super Meat Boy and Celeste I think it was, in how you navigate levels and obstacles. But it's even more in a retro style. It's been out since the 7th of Aug on consoles. Has anyone here played it at all? Worth checking out?
  25. Crime Scene Cleaner is exactly like it sounds, you play as someone tasked with cleaning up crime scenes for money. It reminds me a lot of games like Power Wash simulator, where the point is to essentially clean stuff. Seems simple enough. Not really much of a challenge from what I see, but neither was something like Power Wash Simulator. It was just more a relaxing game to play if anything, so I wonder if this could be similar in that way. If this something you see yourself playing? It just released on steam - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1040200/Crime_Scene_Cleaner/
