Yes about damn time. I know it was kinda in the works, but to see actual proof of it being worked on, is exciting to me. Albeit, it's not much considering it's like pre-pre-pre alpha, and clearly has a ton of work. But it looks like you can actually sign up to play test it so that you can actually help mold the game into what Skate should be. I'm thinking of signing up, just so I can get in there as soon as I can.

I kinda want to pick up a bigger external HDD to hook up to my old 360. I would like to download every single digital game I downloaded in the past. I figure it would be cool to just get all of my purchases on the platform downloaded and safe on a HDD. I mean, my current 360 has barely any space left, so it'd be a big help to have that.

I remember hearing about that controller. To be honest, it doesn't look like it'd be that bad. At least the circular shape maybe, but I feel like most people would get used to it. But, I can see why it'd be a pain to use at first. Yeah I agree. I didn't like how small it was when you used it as an actual controller. But the motion controls were just a gimmick to me. The lasting appeal just isn't there anymore either. Nintendo was lucky with the Wii because the motion controls were what sold it. If they tried to sell the Wii today, no way would it sell like it did back then.

I hate that some people out there make fun of others because they like to play on easier difficulties. I don't care if you play on easy, or hard, or the toughest difficulty. Some of us are too lazy to handle the tougher games. It's why I don't get too int Dark Souls like games, because they're too hard for me. And that's fine. It would be cool to have an easier difficulty, but I totally understand why they keep it as tough as it is. Because in reality if you paid attention, learned the enemy attacks, it'd probably fairly easy to get used to. But, I'm too lazy lol. So I tend to go for normal or easy. I think the only games I tried to go the toughest difficulty was some of the WWF/WWE Wrestling games and maybe those prototype games, they were kinda easy on the toughest difficulty. At least for me.

One other that just came to mind was Deadly Premonition. I saw super best friends let's play of it years ago and it was so weird and wild. It's often compared to the show twin peaks. Its another I never played, but I felt like I experienced it more than enough when I watched a full playthrough of it. It's funny, dumb, messed up, and weird. I'd honestly recommend playing it or watching a playthrough of it if you haven't already.

Do you think 3D gaming will make a comeback? (3D TVs)
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
The thing I forgot to mention about 3d tvs and other 3d tech like it, is that it's been around for a long time, hasn't it? I feel like 3d tvs have been around probably since the 80s or something. Or earlier maybe. It feels like it makes a comeback every 10-20 years and then people remember how 3d isn't all that great and they forget about it until the next 3d tv tech craze comes around years later. Do they even produced 3d tvs these days? -
We're all different though. For me, as of late I've been watching a couple movies a night. Sometimes 3. Watching with friends. I've also been binging Community again and I can't watch that show for hours on end. But I imagine without video games, I would be watching even more. But I may also be leaving my house more. I just don't see myself watching TV and movies all day long every day haha.

Earliest GTA's are some of my favorites for how the satire and everything was. Today GTA tries to be more real and serious. But back in the day, with San Andreas, vice city and even the third one, they all had this tone of comedy and was less serious. I think that's why people also enjoyed Saints Row, because that's where the campy, craziness of GTA kinda went.

I just remember seeing clips of it where it looks really glitchy at times, and people found ways to get past levels easier by spamming jump and start or something. But from what I did see, it was way better than Sonic 06. Than again, I think every Sonic game is better than Sonic 06. 😄 Sonic Generations was pretty dope. It had a mix of new gameplay and old, and it actually felt good to play. But there was this one mission where you had to match music notes with some character I am forgetting, and it was so frustrating I haven't picked up the game since. But I still liked the stuff I was able to play before I gave up on it lol. Sonic Frontiers is not out yet, but it is expected to drop sometime this year. I'm going to guess probably near Nov/Dec or so to capitalize on the holiday season.

My nephew will be receiving his first ever gaming PC tomorrow, and I am tasked with hooking it up for him, and getting it all set up. With that being said, could you guys suggest some child friendly multiplayer games that we could play together? I already got him on Fortnite, and I know he might try to get me into roblox, but I don't know if I'm willing to play that haha. I mainly want something that's fun even for me. He just turned 12, so he can handle some tougher games, but I don't want anything that's too dark, violent, etc.

Playing RDR2, and I forget how fun this game is. I've been playing it in a style where I'm just awful. But I still find myself doing good things at times. I've been skipping the missions and just riding around messing with things. I kinda want to level Arthur up completely by just riding around, hunting, robbing, etc. Last time I played the good guy role, and tried my best to complete the missions first. But I'm just going to take this playthrough really slow and try to experience it at a slower pace.

I imagine that's what the result would be. More people getting outside, living life instead of in front of a tv. Even with tv and movies, I feel like people wouldn't be as cooped up in their homes all day. Yeah there will be some who watch tv and movies all day. For sure. I'd be riding bikes more often if I wasn't so lazy haha!

More power to ya if you're a fan of the series. I know there is a devoted following for Sonic. Did you enjoy playing the likes of Sonic 06? I remember watching lets plays of it and it looked like a chore to play. And then some of the more recent games have been duds too. How do you, as a fan accept the poor quality games that they have been releasing? It's mainly why I don't purchase any newer Sonic games until I see reviews.
-
Have any Sonic games reached a 10/10 score? I feel like the first few could have received 10/10s, or 5/5 scores from some publications. But that's the past, and as of late the series hasn't really been doing so hot. Yeah we got Generations which I thought was decent. And we got Frontiers coming, which people are kinda split on. I personally don't think Sega is capable of making a high quality Sonic game these days. At least not one that would be considered 10/10 masterpiece material. Do you think we'll ever see a future where a Sonic game gets near perfect ratings? I'm not asking for a 10/10 or a 9/10. Hell, give me a 7/10 at the least.

Trading/exchaning teammates in esports
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
Of course. It would make sense that some teams want to trade players. It would make the world of esports a bit more interesting as well. Like so and so was traded to this team for this guy. But, I wonder if teams are run by the players themselves, or if they have a coach. Ooh, I wonder if some esports teams have coaches. I imagine they have captain(s) on the team as well. But, I don't think esports players are paid the same as sports stars. I imagine a team splits winnings and that's where the pay comes in. But I could be wrong on that. -
Ah, thanks for clearing that up. Maybe I confused some of it with the Saturns success overseas. I remember hearing that the Saturn was kinda popular in Japan and other foreign countries. But maybe I'm wrong on that as well. Yeah Nintendo could have coasted for a while after the Wii's success. Hell even the 3DS had a slow start, but they eventually got over that initial hump. Damn, the Saturn fared even worse in North America than the dreamcast did. Weird to see Saturn being the best sold for Sega in Japan.
-
Do you have a source on that? I know that the sales were better in Japan, but not sure how better. I just know in the US it was pretty bad, but both consoles lasted a fair bit longer in Japan than in the US. I think the big reason the Dreamcast failed was because of how easy it was to pirate games back then. All people had to do to my knowledge, was burn the game disc on another and they could literally play it without having to modify the console. As well, I think the Dreamcast came too early. They should have made a console that was close to what the PS2 was capable at the time. Because when the Dreamcast came out, it didn't last too much longer with the PS2 releasing a couple years later.

I didn't mind the Gamecub controller all that much. I do agree it was kinda rough with the button placement, but I felt overall it was a better controller than some. The Wii controller was just dumb imo. Yeah the motion controller gimmick was cool for a while, but that soon died down a bit. And now the Switch has those stupid tiny joy con controllers and honestly I'm not sure how to feel on those.

I wouldn't say the character is the bad guy, if anything it's more that war is the villain. The character didn't know the bad things he was doing because of the PTSD he was suffering throughout the game. He thought he was doing right by his country, but at the end like you said, he realized the error of his ways. He was doing what he thought was good. That's how I see it anyway. Yeah Batman can be a bully, but for the most part I wouldn't say he's near to being the bad guy of the game. Now, if we got a game based on the Snyderverse Batman, than yeah, I'd view him as the bad guy in some ways.

The thing with cheat codes though, is that they are usually provided by the developers/publishers and are a secret or part of the game. I don't know if I'd call it cheat codes if someone else is hacking/cheating the games code to their advantage. If anything it's just hacking. Now, when people go out of their way to abuse a game by cheating and hacking to make it worse for others, than I see that as more than cheating. Especially if it's done to an online game mode.

Noice pickups! I haven't purchased a physical game in quite a while sadly. I've been meaning to change that, as I do kinda want to build up my gaming collection to have more physical games. I mostly focus on buying retro games. I will buy some newer games here and there, but with my collection, I prefer to build up retro first and then focus on the newer titles.

There's a big reason why I don't game for too long, it's because I don't want to end up like some of the past gamers who died from extended periods of gaming. Like that korean dude who gamed for days and ended up dying because of a blood clot or something. We're not meant to sit around for long hours on end, it's not healthy for us. So, I've always made a habit of moving around after a couple hours, move my body around, get the blood flowing properly and all that. And on the plus side, I don't have the energy these days to game for super long hours anyway.

Oh god no, don't take my video games away lol. But seriously, if video games never existed, I imagine I would stick to movies, tv, music, etc. It's weird though, because thinking back, I don't remember a time where I didn't have video games in my life. Hell I was born into video games, so the idea of never having them bothers me lol. But, I think if they didn't exist, I don't think humans would care. Because we wouldn't have ever know about video games, so we'd find hobbies elsewhere.

I haven't played much Atari games from back in their prime. I played some on PC through emulation, but I never owned an Atari, so I never had the chance to experience all of the games people love. Swordquest sounds pretty dope though, sucks that it never got to release their fourth game. And I gotta say, that's pretty impressive how they marketed it.
