In terms of exclusives, you'd probably get the likes of the last of us 1 and 2, plus God of War. Theres lots more, but i don't own a ps4 right now, so I can't fully judge. I'm sure the uncharted series is in talks too.

I don't remember much of the bounties when I played online. Wish bounties paid a lot more. I just hate that it's such a chore to play the online mode.

I think a big thing about SMB, is that it has aged very well. It's still one of the most smoothest games to play. It's not perfect, but I think it helped show that video games were just getting started.

I haven't played it myself, but I hear it's a really competent game and is fun for the time is lasts. But I think the hype kinda hurt it, because people made it out like it'd be some masterpiece, when it was just a good zombie action game. It was no Last of Us, as I think that's what they were trying to kinda go for. Also, I heard the story is kinda dumb, but I can't judge on that.

Eh I don't like it. Sounds cheesy! I kinda hope they just go with Xbox and call it a version or something. Stick to just Xbox and call it version type A or something. I'm not a fan of the Series X or S names.

Also, I'd say Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt were influential I believe. But also maybe Ping Pong, or Space Invaders, or the 80s arcades. There's so many influential games out there, it's tough to just say one or two.

They could do that, but it'd be their risk in doing so. Especially if you mean emulating Switch games. Which is a definite no go at the moment. But then again, if it's a legal copy for private use, it should be fine. As long as he doesn't share a copy or distribute it online.

games with so much action happening at the same time, yay or nay?
Kane99 replied to Patrik's topic in Gaming Forum
I think having as much action in a game, helps it show the advancement of video games. I mean, back in the day, you couldn't get as much action going on in a single level. Sometimes it was a static level, background, etc where it moved when you moved. But now days, you can do so much with the resources game developers have. The more action on screen also lets devs add more hidden easter eggs and such. I'm excited to see what video games will look like in the next 10-20 years. It's exciting! 🙂 -
You're not missing much with RDR2 online. It's a huge grind and honestly isn't fun. I wish it had more going for it, and the payouts you get for missions were better. But they literally pay you like you're in the old west and it bugs me out. Just give us more money so our experience can get better. I just want to get good guns and not be broke in game all the time.

Should the Current gen consoles have been delayed?
Kane99 replied to Yaramaki's topic in Gaming Forum
I think it was time for a new generation to start. The 8th gen was a bit dated and the games we were getting were becoming far too advanced for the consoles. I imagined devs wanted better hardware to make better games as well. -
idk, I feel like Gran Turismo is more about the cars and the look rather than the actual driving. I feel like other games do racing just as good, if not, even better than it. But I'm not much for racing games myself, so I can't fully judge on the genre as a whole. All I know is that there are many great racing franchises that have done great over the last decade and more that have matched or done as good as Gran Turismo, or even better.

Well if you own the actual games physically, it's technically legal, as you're legally allowed to make a copy of a game for private use only. But, if you download a ROM from a website, that is piracy and is illegal. Which means you do not own the game in any way. Yes you can play that game on an emulator, but you do not technically or legally own that ROM in any way, since you illegally have a copy of it. If you owned the physical copy, it would be legal, but if you don't have the physical copy, it's piracy. There are laws about emulation and piracy. It's the same as if you illegally download music from the web.

What developers do the best job supporting their games?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
It's sad, but it's true. Triple A studios tend to be more about the money and earning as much as they can, that they forget to provide something fans will enjoy enough. Some Triple A studios do great things, but their work practices and their CEO heavy structure kinda hurt them imo. -
That depends. I don't always play linear games. Some games are open world, play as you want type of games. Or others are multiplayer. If I do play a linear game, like say Hitman for example, I will play it for a while and then move on from it. I always seem to come back to it though.

I'd say most video games comfort me in some way. Not all of them of course, because some are too frustrating to be comforting, but there are many games we could talk about that comforts me. From Super Mario Bros. 3, RDR1, RDR2, COD (sometimes), and anything that revolves around fun puzzles and not overly hard ones.
-
Idk I kinda doubt that. I have a feeling they will instead title it something else. I don't see them calling it Xbox Series T or E or something random like that. But I could be wrong. Their name choices have really been lacking over the years.

Games for gold is a promotion Xbox does monthly. For those who have Xbox Live Gold or Xbox game Pass Ultimate, will get free games at the start of each month. Usually two games for the 360 and two for Xbox One. But, I think they're going to drop the service and just include all of those free games as a part of gamepass eventually. I see no point in gold anymore because gamepass ultimate took over. That is true. They don't really give a whole lot of good each month. But there has been a few months where they did release some goodies. Just not enough.
-
Yeah 3-5 hours isn't enough to get a true feel. Well, maybe for the controls, gameplay, and style. But I feel like there's a lot more that you need to experience in RDR2 to really give it the chance it needs.
-
Not sure that really counts as you don't technically own those games. If you actually own any physical copies, sure. But I wouldn't count that.
-
Is it because of the gameplay style? The newer titles have gotten pretty advances in terms of gameplay. I probably don't have the patience for most of them these days haha. But I think for the most part, they don't change too much. But then again I haven't played many of the MK games in the last 10-15 years.

That's the thing, you don't need to spend that much money in order to get a PC capable of playing newer games. My current PC was only $400 and I had an old friend build it for me. This of course was before the pandemic, but it can play most games that have been released. Of course I don't get the best graphics imaginable, but it's enough for me to play most new releases. If you want to go pay $2000, sure, but there are budget options out there that can get you gaming for much cheaper.
-
Also, I didn't much care for the frame rate and resolution problems. Honestly most of us probably didn't notice it when we gamed. I mean, I have had issues with framerates in some games, sure, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the games.

What was the most underrated Gran Turismo game?
Kane99 replied to Family sedan's topic in Gaming Forum
I had a copy of the game myself and played it for a while, but I didn't play it for too long. I was more into the Test Drive or Need for Speed series back in those days. -
Oh no, I didn't say that. Saints Row has its pros and cons for sure. It's not a perfect franchise by any means, but they have some great games in the series. But, it doesn't come close to what GTA offers unfortunately. I agree. Saints Row is a fine game, but it doesn't come close to the production value, and quality of GTA titles. They're just better built, smoother, and more reliable.

Same. I try not to spend too much money. If anything I'm very frugal when it comes to spending money. If I don't need to, I won't. I try to save as much as I can, and even budget things if needed.
