Been playing some Madden 21 and fortnite. Not a whole lot else though.

I think these days with fortnite and other games, it's easier for kids to get addicted to games. I feel like my nephew may be addicted. For example, he comes over almost every weekend, but all he ends up doing is playing video games on my xbox or on my PC. I allow him, but I've been trying to cut him off a bit from gaming as we'd prefer if he hung out with family instead of spending all his time glued to a screen. Part of me loves that he's heavily invested in video games, because I too love video games. But seeing him disconnect from the world is kinda depressing. So yeah, I've decided that when he does come over, he's going to take more breaks and I'm going to cut him off at a certain time.

I remember PlayStation and Pizza Hut teamed together to give away demo discs. I think I still have the demo in my collection, alone with the cardboard sleeve. I don't remember them giving away actual games though.

More games should let you remove quests from your quest list
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Sure, but gamers are free to do so if they want to. It just means their playthrough will tougher, and possibly shorter in the process. -
Not sure. I remember some online flash games based on tanks, but I don't recall any arcade tank games myself, though I probably missed that game growing up.

I saw another preview video, showing gameplay kinda. Didn't care for it much, but hopefully they release a more in depth video showcasing the gameplay, game modes, and new settings, style, etc. I just want something. This game comes out next month, and we have not much to go off of.

What games did much better than you ever would have expected?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Honestly, I remember hearing the hype around it after it released, but I had no idea about it before. I don't think I even remember hearing about the 2nd witcher. -
So essentially stuff like pepsiman, cool spot, that mckids game, and the Burger king games back in the mid 2000s. There are some good brand themed games, but there's more bad ones than good out there. On and Doritos Crash Course, that game was great.

Nintendo doesn't need to do anything. They can sit back, and watch Microsoft and Sony do their thing. They have a great deal of exclusive games on their end, and their market is set and fine. They don't need the Call of Duty, Destiny with Bungie and so on. They sell consoles based on being just Nintendo. No one is buying a switch to play Call of Duty or the big time triple A titles. They're buying it to play Mario, Zelda, and other Nintendo games. What studios would they even buy? Capcom? Konami? I just don't see them as ones to purchase any companies.

Honestly, not sure we'd need a hellraiser game. I think they had Pinhead make an appearance in Dead By Daylight, but I'm not 100% sure. He'd make a good baddie for a game like that, but idk how well a Hellraiser game would do. I just don't see it working in game form.

That's why I like cart based games, they will last a lot longer than disc based games. They will eventually degrade over time, but they've already surpassed the lifecycle that CDs,DVDs and other disc based media have.

Yeah I don't remember it being important whatsoever. There are sex scenes in the game, but they don't show any genitalia when it happens.

Have you quit playing any games as a result of bugs and glitches?
Kane99 replied to Heatman's topic in Gaming Forum
What I hate the most, is that when a studio releases a broken game, and then promise fixes later on. It reminds me of those early access games, where the game isn't near done, but you can play a portion to pretty much test it. That's how games come out these days, early access, but they say it's complete and ready. But that's not the case with the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 and the GTA remastered trilogy. It's lazy, and developers need to take notice. -
Sequels that featured better gameplay in your opinion?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Yeah that may be so, but each horse controlled like shit in my experience. It's the weighty control scheme that Rockstar has been known for in recent years, and whatever they did with the AI with the horses. You never crashed with your horse this much in RDR1. They did the weighty controls with RDR1, L.A. Noire and GTA V, but it wasn't as bad as it feels in RDR2 sometimes. It's playable and I can get over it, but still can be annoying in certain missions and areas in the game. -
Would minesweeper quality as an isometric style game? I mean it's top down. It's not at an angle like Marble Madness, but it's still top down.

Optimism in games is usually about moral victory
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I think we all get optimistic when it comes to the games we play, because we inevitably want to beat them. Most games are meant to be conquered and won, so it's a given that each game we play, we try to do our best to get that victory. Sometimes it doesn't come, even with how hard you're trying. Just keep trying. If it gives you too much trouble, maybe it'd be best to move on to another game. -
There are still some headsets made just for consoles, but if they have the correct jack, it should work on any device that supports it. But yeah, you can find cheaper 3.5 mm headsets at most stores. You can even use those tech support caller headsets as a headset. Works just as good and maybe even has better voice quality.

Would anyone here ever start their own LAN party today? I think it'd be cool to get a group of my high school friends from back in the day, and set up a space to do a nice big LAN party. I think that'd be so fun to do. Then we'd include some food, beverages, alcohol and so on. Right now I don't have the funds to host a party like that, but I'd love to give it a try one day.

All media is inspired by something, it's how media expands and grows. Books, movies, tv, is all inspired by our past, our history, or current events and what past media has brought us.

San Francisco Rush 2049 is one of my favorite racing games from the N64 era. Oh and Hot Wheels Turbo Racing. I remember enjoying those racing games quite a bit back on the N64.

RDR2 - Making the Undead Nightmare 2 DLC that we all been hoping for. RDR1 had the Undead Nightmare DLC and it was a blast to play. Sadly, Rockstar never released any story DLC for RDR2, which always disappointed me. On top of that, Rockstar doesn't care about RDR Online either as they have put most of their focus on GTA V and have pretty much abandoned it.

I'm not a big racing fan, but I will play some of them. I'd say I'm 50/50 on it. Maybe a 6/10 in interest. But I wouldn't say that equates to all racing games. Some are better than others and I like others better then some others. But yeah, it depends on the racing game. The game I mentioned didn't have traditional races. It was an added on portion of the game that felt pointless. Maybe it was because in Just Cause, driving cars felt like a waste of time, considering you could fly around the map much faster with your grapple hook and wingsuit. At least in 4 I think. But even with the other games, you could fly around with your grapple hook and parachute much faster than driving around the map would get you.

What’s the worst thing you ever saw a game admin do in an MMO?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I believe it. The internet back in the day was the wild west, those creeps could get away with just about anything back then. Thank goodness laws are in place these days to stop predators like that.
