What historic settings do you want to see recreated in video games?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Well, we got to see what part of the American Revolution was in Assassin's Creed III. Being a part of that in game was quite cool. But, it wasn't true to the reality of it, because you were part of it as the character in some way. -
What’s the worst thing you ever saw a game admin do in an MMO?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
No idea. But I'm sure there was many mods in games that acted out and banned people just because they had the power. Once someone has that power, they can sometimes go crazy and abuse it. It happens a lot. It's why it takes a long time for people to get appointed mods because of how risky it is to put some unknown person in there on the job. -
I wish more games were historically accurate. Even to the point where weapons, items, vehicles and more move or work like they did in the past. I think that'd be accurate.

Best game of the generation so far (PS4/XBox One Era)?
Kane99 replied to DylanC's topic in Gaming Forum
Well this topic is a tad bit dated due to the year it started. But that's okay. I'll go with the current generation, and I think the best that has yet to come out, I haven't even played it yet, but I think people are claiming it's Deathloop as the best so far. What do you guys think? -
Yeah lol. I try not to eat anything greasy or too sloppy near my PC. I don't want to risk my desk or area getting filthy with food and other junk. I try not to eat near my computer when I can.

I think I would only support pre-orders, is if I was able to get something good for doing it. Not DLC. I want a poster, a collectible figure, something cool and exciting and not some early access crap. I can wait to play, I want something extra for giving you my pre-order. Why else pre-order? I mean, it's not like these games aren't mass produced and no one is having a hard time finding them day one.

I hope not too, but it feels like that may be a route we see. Considering Meta is here, they are probably planning on a lot of different products and services, so gaming could be in the mix. They already have VR and a new VR world coming, so who knows what we'll see with them in the near future. It kinda scares me honestly.

I'm honestly tempted to buy a steam deck. Just the base model because I don't want to spend too much. But, I think I like that it's kinda affordable and if I can play pretty much ever game on steam, I'd say it's worth it.

They don't have to. The thing about the Switch, is that it works how it was intended. It may be behind the powerhouse Xbox and PS5, but that doesn't mean it can't play a lot of great games. You have to consider the Switch as a gameboy/console hybrid. And that's probably the best of both worlds. Considering the 3DS, DS and Gameboy brands have sold a shit ton over the years, it's perfect to combine that with a home console and it works so well. I think it's close to overselling the Wii, or it may have already. It's one of the best selling consoles ever.

I'm tempted to buy one. I hope the prices drop some, so I can buy a couple. Just need to figure out where to put them if I ever do get any.

Yeah this is something that happens all the time in comments. Here's a tip, don't ever click on any links or contact anyone through comments when they offer anything. They are most likely always bots and will cause you nothing but issues.

COD modern warfare 2 arriving earlier than expected
Kane99 replied to kingpotato's topic in Gaming News
I find this all laughable considering that COD Vanguard was one of the best selling games of 2021 and is currently the top one for 2022. But I also heard recently that when the Microsoft purchase goes through, the COD team want to stop the yearly releases and slow down. I think they too are tired of the yearly releases. -
And now with Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard. Things have been shaken up big time.

I finally conceded, and have giving up on Resident Evil...
Kane99 replied to Knight Plug's topic in Gaming Forum
idk, I think generations of games take inspiration from one another. I could argue it's like Dead Island since it too had workbenches. Unless I'm confusing this with something else. Are you saying that Resident Evil is copying The Last of Us? Maybe I missed something. -
Honestly, I think I'd like to play some casual, slow paced games where there isn't a huge challenge. Kinda like that Unpacking game I'm so into. Just a relaxing game to pass the time. I feel that way with two point hospital. Because I feel you can just build and let the little people run the show while I keep building and making the hospital fancy. 😄

How do you feel when a game gives you tips after you die?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
If it does, yeah I'd turn them off. If they have that option. But yeah, I think if it slows things down, there should be an option to turn it off. Especially if you're a seasoned veteran of the game already lol. -
Games where you can set your enemies on one another
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I'm starting to remember one, wasn't there a dart in one of the Assassin's Creed games where you can get have one of the enemies attack one of their own. Yes I think it was III and Black Flag. Maybe even Syndicate or all of them. But yeah, there was a dart or knife you can throw at enemies and when struck, they will attack the person nearest to them. They won't attack civilians, just their own. But, they will still attack you if they see you. -
If you stand to game, does anyone here like to do some workouts while also gaming? Maybe running in place, doing some squats, or other workouts you can do in a standing position while also gaming.
-
How much money do you guys think you have in just your backlog of games alone? I would probably say I have a couple hundred worth in terms of current market value, so it's not much, but that's a lot in some ways. Anyway, what about you guys?

Why don’t more video game voice actors get jobs on TV/film?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I don't think it's really anything in particular. I think most voice actors fall in with a certain side of acting. Voice actors in gaming, probably start off doing voice acting in cartoons and other media. They may start off doing voice over work for ads for all we know. But, I'm sure most voice actors aren't opposed to working on bigger projects. I think it's more to do with the fact that they're voice actors and really the only thing they tend to work on, are cartoons, voice over for ads or video games. What else do voice actors do? I mean, I doubt most of them want to do live action acting, on camera. Some voice actors probably love the comfort of being in a small boxy room, doing voice over work with no one really staring at them, or having a camera in their face. Some voice actors probably could easily make the move to live action acting, but do we know if these voice actors are capable of actually acting? Like the movement, the style, the facial movements, etc. Acting in live action movies and tv isn't about just the voice, it's about what you can do with your face and body to make the role as real and authentic as possible. Voice actors rely on animators and people to code them, or use mocap suits to record them. Yeah some voice actors do mocap work themselves, which is great, but that doesn't necessarily equate to acting in movies and tv. -
Book authors you would like to write for video games?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
George R.R. Martin working on more games would be dope. I heard he worked on Elden Ring, so I'd like to see how that turns out. Here's hoping that he does some more work on games, because I'd love to see what he is capable of doing for the gaming side of things. -
Games that do really well with typically annoying things?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Sure with some of them. Not all bugs and glitches hurt the game. Some are fun and add to it, some are dumb and give us a laugh, while others can in fact cause issues. Games where you fall under the map, glitch into walls or get stuck in a jump animation, or something else. There's a lot of bugs and glitches in games that will bug gamers. No pun intended. But we get used to some of them because retro and past games can't be fixed anymore. So you're stuck with those glitches on those cart based games. The only way to fix those, would be to go back to the drawing table, fix the problem and then re-release the game. These days we get patches. I would say that most games I have played, don't bother me much with glitches or bugs. Sure some will piss ya off, but when you know it, you then know how not to repeat the mistake. So you kinda learn to live with it in most games. I mean hell, cyberpunk 2077 alone is a buggy, glitchy mess, but it's still got a good game under all the issues. Which reminds me, I should really jump back into it soon. -
What video game developer do you wish had never closed?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Sadly it was their own doing. I believe the quality of their games was the reason they folded along with the way the company execs acted with the money. Or they may have been sold off, I don't remember. But Acclaim has a history for making a lot of crap. They died off in 2004 I heard and I guess sold their name and all their properties to other companies. Some other studio came out making games by Acclaim, but that only lasted for four years. -
Do you think most games will go free to play in the future?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I disagree with your last point. Poor folks can afford some leisure things. Just because someone is poor, doesn't mean they can't afford to get some games, a console or two. It just means they can't buy everything they want. They have to wait, save up money. I buy what I want within reason. I don't spend boat loads of cash on games. I utilize services like game pass, and buy used, or even trade if possible. And I also look for game sales often. I game more than enough, and I'm considered poor. I don't make a lot of money by any means, so it comes down to what I can afford.
