Did you ever buy a game and resell it before ever playing it?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
True, but not all people think the same. I know people who have purchased a bunch of new new games, then never played them and then sold them. I think it's because they often worked long hours so didn't have the time to game. -
My gaming goals are to probably play more video games this year. But with work, idk if I have the time anymore.

My experience with Nioh (F*** GAMES THAT DON'T PAUSE!)
Kane99 replied to Shagger's topic in Video Games
Yeah I can't do games like nioh or Dark souls. It's just too challenging and to me, not worth it to be honest. I want to be a pro, but have no patience for it. -
I didn't see this coming, but it's coming soon. I guess you can pre-register to download the game on the google play store. Not sure it's something I'm into, as it seems to be one of those sim management games where you have to keep the Office from downsizing or something. It looks similar to that trailer park boys management game. I bet it's by the same people. Looks to have similar art style. If interested, you can read more about it here - https://www.hardcoredroid.com/pre-register-now-for-the-office-somehow-we-manage/

I bet they had worked a ton on the original Bully 2 before it got cancelled. I bet now they're going to restart on Bully and will end up making it mostly about multiplayer. Because lets face it, Take-Two and Rockstar are all about the money right now and I could see they cancelling Bully 2 if it didn't have some sort of online mechanic. I'm probably wrong, but I feel like that's what Rockstar and co would do here.

When I was growing up, I didn't really keep the console boxes. I know with our NES, I don't think we kept the box. Though I was tempted to check out my old house to see if there was a nintendo box somewhere. But never went out to check. Anyway, I kept my old 360 box, and had a box for my PS2, but it got crushed and I tossed it. Also had the Sega Genesis box, but that got crushed as well. Only console boxes I have left are my Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Lets not get creepy in here. What are some things you'd like to do in VR if it was possible? Honestly I would like to try a VR setup where you can try skydiving without having to actually do it. That'd be a fun VR machine. Also, maybe flying, driving in chaotic locations, and so on. What about you?

Eh, not feeling the character model or animations. Looks like a chicken when he runs. The dark segment looked pretty good though, but I suppose this is still early stages, so maybe this will turn out to be a decent fan remake. Doubt it'll ever get released though.

Phil Spencer, the head honcho over at Xbox, recently came out and said he would like a system to one day be in place, where if a player is banned on one platform, he/she would be banned on all other platforms as well. I don't know how I feel about that. Because, one part of me is like, hell yeah, lets ban the hackers, racists and unruly children who constantly make it hell in a public lobby. But honestly, I just ignore public lobby chat these days so I don't hear the toxic shit that is spewed by many gamers. Do you think a person should be banned from all platforms if banned on one? I don't know. What if that person allows his children to play on one of their devices, and they act up causing all of their dads products to go offline due to a ban. Seems kinda messed up to ban everything. Now, if it's on a same network/company, I'd understand, but I think this will result in more problems than anything. What do you guys think? I'm all for banning toxic players, but idk if it should result in a ban everywhere. But idk, maybe they could use the excuse that you're also responsible for what your kids do. What's your opinion? You can read about this here - https://twinfinite.net/2022/01/phil-spencer-advocates-for-cross-platform-bans-against-toxic-users/

The only games I can think of where people can do anything they pretty much want to is roblox, Gary's mod, minecraft and a few other games similar to those. But what are some other games that allow you full control or control of most of the game? Like you can modify the code, change settings on everything, etc. Any games that it's legal to alter the code any way you want to?

Yup, you can read about it here: https://www.destructoid.com/take-two-acquires-zynga-12-7-billion-deal-farmville-gta-mobile-games/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=take-two-acquires-zynga-12-7-billion-deal-farmville-gta-mobile-games So it looks like Take-Two has bought out the mobile studio zynga for 12.7 billion dollars. Looks like Take Two wants to rack in even more profits, because zynga was probably making bank before they sold off. I don't know how i feel about it honestly. Because we all know they're going to push for big time profits. The mobile market is huge, and they just bought the biggest company out there.

What are some weird and impractical controllers you had growing up? Or ones you saw in store or in gaming magazines. I know there's that Resident Evil 4 collectors edition with the chainsaw controller. I know of the wu tang clan controller and a few others, but what are some of the really crazy and impractical ones?

What are some good documentaries about game development or development on certain games? I'm interested in any shows or movies about it. I've seen documentaries like King of Kong, but that's a different subject.

I don't know of many hospital or doctor games, but I know of surgeon Sim and that hospital building Sim. What are some good games worth checking out in the genre that are actually fun?
-
A lot of games come out too quickly, but some do get made quickly and still work fine. What would you say was the quickest developed game that actually turned out good?

I was worried about the turn based gameplay similar to xcom. So I just put off playing it. I liked the stick of truth, but I got bored of it after a while. I hope this next one is more about action and adventure, or just a platformer. Not into the rpg aspect of it.

Agree to disagree. I don't see it the same way. I think if done right, with the right touch and respect to the original, it wouldn't be a disservice. If they added microtransactions, changed the story or whatever else, I'd understand. But we have remakes of other Zelda games, other classics, and they from what I see, are faithful remakes with prettier graphics. As well, no one is telling you that you have to play a remake if one is made. And you have every right to be against that. I'm sure many other fans would oppose it as well. The gaming community is a divided one.

Watch Dogs Legion vs GTA 5--no spoilers
Kane99 replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Gaming Forum
I haven't played watchdogs legion yet, but from what I saw, I didn't see much of a story, at least compared to gta v. Watch dogs 2 has a good story, I really enjoyed it. But gta v still is better in terms of what it offers. But, honestly, I think I prefer watchdogs 2 over gta v. Idk I just really had more fun with the game. -
I still have love and hope this studio comes back. But take two is the big problem. They run the show for the most part. But I still have hopes we're going to get a good story at the least. I'm not expecting much with online, because I know their focus will be on maximizing their profits. It'll be a grindy chore like gta v was. But, maybe we'll get a fun single player story. That's what I mostly care about anyway.

Are there any game companies you actively boycott?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
It's not just that. They've been awful for a while. It's not even Rockstar. I mostly fault take two for the issues. They own so many companies and franchises, it's crazy. And they seem to be making poor decisions these days. -
I wonder if we're just going to end up going the way of gamepass, where everything will be subscription based. I'm honestly okay with that if I can pay a small fee to play a good amount of games. We'll probably end up seeing less and less of physical games released too.

Huh, didn't even know they were partnered. But I guess it makes sense lol.
