  1. Oh god, this is a tough one. Maybe the original THQ before they died and then got bought out. Also I'd add Acclaim to the list, even though they were with LJN and made some really shit games. I still have nostalgia for Acclaim.
  2. lol I knew many who did that. They would leave their discs out on the console itself or on a shelf out of its case. I don't know how many times I saw a friends game collection with cases damaged and without the covers. Some people just don't take care of their games.
  3. I was considering it again recently, but I thought back to the times I sat in bean bags, and I feel like they would be a bit too uncomfortable after a while. Unless I was using ones that weren't that good to begin with. Maybe I just need a good bean bag chair.
  4. lol same. I didn't know that it was actually bad to do for your carts, due to corrosion caused from saliva from blowing on it. So I kinda stopped doing that and just use q-tips with rubbing alcohol and that's really all you need. 🙂
  5. I feel that is going to be the case. At least in terms of newer video games. Because I figure we'll be going digital sooner rather than later. So maybe stores releasing new games won't last as long as, say retro game shops. But yeah, gamestop is trying a lot to stick around. I don't see them lasting with the practices they have.
  6. When it does give you the option to skip a certain section, I often feel guilty having to do it. I will try and keep trying, but eventually I may use that option if it's just too much to deal with.
  7. The point was to mess around with people. I know some allowed you to change your voice to sound like a woman, so I know some people messed with people like that. And then of course robotic noises, deeper voices and more. There are apps that do wonders with voice changing. One I tried, allowed me to sound like a baby, it was hilarious.
  8. I wouldn't go that far, considering so many of their fans are still all over GTA online these days. But you are right, some fans are unforgiving and some don't forgive. I myself, will get GTA VI once it releases. But, I'm not going to expect a masterpiece anymore, because I don't think they will deliver that for us with a sequel. I'm prepared to be wrong though.
  9. I mean, yeah the beginning the up to the end, was fairly decent. I didn't much like the main character, but I enjoyed most of the story leading up until the end. But great games can have bad endings. GTA IV had a bad ending imo, same with GTA V (sorry, thought it too was rushed). Mass Effect 3 I think had a hated ending too. But yeah, a bad ending can truly bring a good game down.
  10. It was really depressing to see played out, especially before you decide to do it, you think they are an army of soldiers, but in reality it's civilians. Really makes you think about the horrors of war and how it can change people a lot.
  11. I think it's safe to say that 2022 could be the year of NFTs. Even though they've been around a while now, they've kinda blown up near the end of 2021 and now 2022 I can see being the year of just NFT this and NFT that. It's going to suck!
  12. I abandoned a lot of the Sim City and Sims games. Especially Sims 3, as I played a ton of it, and just stopped one day. Idk, maybe I got bored with it, or just got too lazy with it. But I eventually want to get back into it. Or I might just get Sims 4 instead.
  13. Two point hospital at the moment. Just started playing it after it was recommended to me, and I'm having a blast with it so far. Kinda wish I didn't have to work in a bit, because I'd like to play it right about now. 😄
  14. I don't get why the board is allowing Bobby Kotick to stick around. I heard somewhere, maybe here, that hey may have some stuff on the people of the board, and that's why they aren't kicking him out yet. idk if that's true, but I swear I heard something along those lines.
  15. I believe it was something to do with work or something personal. I don't quite remember as it was like 5 years ago maybe. But yeah, I think I still have him as a friend, maybe I'll reachout to him and see how he's doing.
  16. Same here kinda. I don't have the same issue, but my butt starts to hurt if I sit for too long. Thankfully the computer chair I got a bit ago has stopped the pain a lot, so I can sit a lot longer without any pain. But, standing is good to do from time to time for sure.
  17. I don't see a need to remake RE4 either. It still stands up today for what it tried to do all those years back. But I know Capcom want to remaster this game somehow. I would rather they just do a fancy HD upscale and maybe fix some gameplay stuff, but that's it. I don't think this game needs to be re-made from the ground up. At least not for another 10 years or more.
  18. Yeah, Pac-Man has been a huge hit with gamers for a very long time. Though Pac-Man probably isn't as popular as he once was, the franchise is still around and kicking. But stuff like Sonic and Mario are probably leaps and bounds ahead of him in popularity. But that doesn't really matter much, it just means that Pac-Man isn't as popular as he once was, but he's still important to the gaming community for sure.
  19. To each their own I say. Some gamers like regenerating health, while others like more of a challenge. Playing either or doesn't change who you are as a gamer. Some people just differ in interests. I don't think it makes gamers lazy to want to play games with regen health. Some of us just don't have the time to devote to games for long hours, so when regen health is a thing, it just makes that a bit easier on us.
  20. The sad thing about crunch, is that developers and other workers will put up with it because 1.) they think it'll result in better treatment, and 2) They think they need to finish it by the due-date or else they may face trouble. Studios should never force their employees to crunch long hours to complete a game. If it ever gets to that point, then they need to delay the game. It's not fair to the workers who already put their heart and soul into the project. Don't' also run them dry.
  21. Wired controllers I'd argue, are better. Less lattency issues, less input lag, etc. The only downside is that you can't take your wired controller everywhere. But I'd rather use wired than wireless. I got tired of dealing with all the annoying controller problems I had on the 360 for example. The battery kit didn't always work the way I wanted it to. So I pretty much am done with controllers that utilize chargeable batteries, or require batteries. Because they fail me more often than wired controllers do.
  22. Oh I know, I've completed the game already. Just forget since I haven't played through the story in quite a while. The AI for the horses sucked in RDR2 compared to RDR1. I don't know how many times I had to call for my horse in RDR2 to where he/she rarely would listen. But in RDR1, my trusty steed was always there when needed. But I guess that's Rockstar having to make it feel as realistic as possible.
  23. That is quite the collection. I wish I had a collection that massive and worth that much. Could you imagine how bad of a fire hazard that all is though? I sure hope he has had it all insured, because if not, that's a crazy amount of games to have without any insurance in place.
  24. When it comes to rare retro games, I tend to go for the digital copies of the games. I can't afford to buy a lot of the rare games, and due to that, I'll just often get it digitally. I get wanting to have the real cart, but sometimes it's just not possible to get the more expensive cart or even those repros. Eventually I'd love to add the game to my collection one day, but that's easier said than done. For the time being, I'll take at least digital to allow me to play the game.
  25. I think another goal for 2022, is to finally get back into the gaming rhythm. I already started two point hospital, and am looking forward to playing that more this week. But I also want to try more games in my backlog and stick with them.
