  1. Do you guys own any of the Nintendo Guides that Pat Contri has made? He wrote two books, one that showcases all the games for the NES and one for the SNES. I'm tempted to get them both, but they're a bit pricey around $60 each. Do you think it's worth it?
  2. It'll have to because Gamestop is dying. Eventually poor choices and decisions will weigh on a company and it'll eventually result in gamestop closing. That's the likely outcome for gamestop because things are not getting better for them. I don't know if we'll eve have gamestop in the next 10 years.
  3. That's news to me. What did Remedy do that makes them sellouts? I mean I can understand now with Tencent working with them, but I don't recall what they did before to be considered sellouts.
  4. There's a lot of games that do this. I don't mind it, because it's good to have tips pop up during loading screens. It's better than not having tips I'd say. And let's be honest, there are people who don't do the tutorials, so it may be for that reason too.
  5. There has been some games that I traded after I got a game. I don't usually sell games I just get though. Usually it's because I can't play the game, or what I got isn't what I was hoping for. Most of the time I would just return it for refund.
  6. All the time. I feel like skyrim is a big culprit of this, because you find so many key items in game. As well I think games like dishonored have similar things. Oh and rdr1 and 2 as you can sell key items away if you want to.
  7. I think boss battles in general are lazy. Like how many games do we have there boss fights are usually in 3 stages, or take 3 hits per stage, etc. I don't mind stages to a fight if done right. I just wish they'd make boss battles fun sometimes. I understand making them hard, but at least make them creative.
  8. I wouldn't say I necessarily boycott studios, but I just don't buy from them most of the time. I just choose not to make a fuss about it. I rarely put money down on games from EA, Activision, ubisoft, and a few others. When I do get a game, its usually through gamepass or super cheap. I ain't paying full price for anything from ea.
  9. Do we even have predictions into the next 50 years? I imagine by then vr would have been the way to game. But i could see gaming going the way of streaming. So that all we'd need is to buy the games and a headset to stream them. I think realism will be a big feature, but I don't think the gaming industry will change too much.
  10. There's a lot of great games coming with quality graphics. If anything, I think most games coming soon look pretty good graphically. The new horizon zero dawn game looks beautiful. You can kinda expect most of the triple A games to look stunning.
  11. I've been there a few times. Actually not as similar. But I've been playing wreckfest and sometimes you need a certain car to do certain races. There was a few times where I had to do other races to make enough money to get a car for another race. Was annoying but I got through it.
  12. Honestly, I can't think of anything. I'd probably say kinect if it was a success, but it wasn't, so i don't think it counts. Maybe analog sticks, I remember not being too into them during the ps1 era, but I don't think it lasted too long.
  13. I think some of the far cry games you could do that. I remember in gta I would sometimes get an npc to hit me in front of the police so the police would attack them. I did it a lot in San Andreas and I probably did it in 3 and vice City. Not sure if it worked in gta iv or v.
  14. I would say violence, but I still feel uneasy towards real violence. In fact I don't think it has desensitized me as much as I thought. Because seeing real people get hurt isn't something I like to see. Video games it's no big deal, because it's not real, but seeing the real thing isn't as easy for me. I can handle Video game violence, gore, etc but real death is something I just can't do. I can't view that stuff because it will haunt me for days and I won't get sleep.
  15. Not really much has changed. I game just about the same. Well maybe less due to work and all that. But covid didn't change anything for me. If anything I should have gamed more during the pandemic.
  16. That's kinda expected with yearly releaes like that. They're going to reuse assets, animations etc. I'd say COD is worse, considering they do it all the time. I don't know how many "new engines" they used, but every game pretty much looks the same in terms of graphics, assets, gameplay, etc. I would love to have more customization options. I wish games allowe for creating out own character as close as we can get it.
  17. Idk about early consoles but I'd say the Sega Dreamcast and Saturn. Both consoles were pretty decent, but Americans just didn't seem all to into either. The dreamcast especially.
  18. Traps are a common thing in a lot of games. Dark souls is known for a lot of their traps. I remember some games dealing with bear traps and those can be annoying. I think in the tenchu games that had traps as well. I think a room with spikes, stuff like that.
  19. I remember people telling me the controls to drive in True Crime: Streets of LA were awful, but I remember enjoying the driving. I can't remember a time where anyone told me a certain boss was easier or harder. Though I'm sure there was a time where that did happen.
  20. I'm for remakes when they're done right and are needed. Like, maybe they can improve upon controls, or glitches they can finally patch. Some bad games could be fixed up by just working on the controls. I think that's a little overboard, but to each their own. I don't think a remake would tarnish its legacy in anyway, as it's legacy has already been cemented.
  21. Honestly, not really. I pretty much wanted all the consoles growing up. Even the bad ones. Because I didn't know any better and didn't know there was bad consoles at the time. Maybe the ps3, idk. Actually, maybe kinect instead. Yeah it sucked, but I sometimes got a good workout with it.
  22. I didn't play many games with fmvs in them. I'm aware of games like night trap, but never played them. I bet I would have given up pretty fast if I played the actual night trap game.
  23. I don't think it's really all that needed. I mean, we have great graphics these days. Using fmvs instead of the games graphics, sometimes takes me more out of the game. Like, it doesn't make sense to me why we'd still use it today.
  24. The prototype games. I think I 100% both of them and I remember it being pretty easy even on the hardest difficulty. I think you become really OP after a while.
  25. Thats a good question. GTA is a definite, but we do know all the games are in the same world aside from maybe the original top down games. Assassins creed somewhat after the first set of games. Honestly I think you guys got most of the good ones listed. I can't think kf anymore off the top of my head.
