We should be getting a new hulk game one of these days. I don't think we had one since the ps2 era. Right? I don't remember if any came out during the 360/ps3 era or last gen. Do you know if any released? I don't count that avengers game.

Well that was a dumb move. The developer of Ready Or Not, most likely lost their publisher because they said they would include a school shooter mission. It was said In a reddit post that has since been removed. For those who don't know, ready or not is a swat tactical game. The objective is not to kill unless you have to. So as you can see, pretty messed up. The publisher team17 didn't say why they dropped the devs, but it's probably due to that. This is what I pretty much did growing up. For me, gaming was my release from all the problems, the anxiety and fear. If I could sit down and play TMNT 2 the arcade game on the NES with my friends, then that's happiness right there. Growing up, video games have been the escape I needed from a lot of the down times. From the bullying, to my weight issues to just general stress with school and work. I'm glad to see todays youth finding support in gaming. I would also argue that they also find support in the many creators showcasing games on their twitch and youtube channels. We're in a very open society these days, and gamers are finding themselves friends and family through the games. I can totally see video games being a means to help. And I see it more every day with all the support networks that are starting up. From support for mental health, human rights, and so much more. Anyway, experts are saying that gaming can be beneficial for some. You can read more about that here: https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/can-video-games-help-kids-anxiety-mental-health-170958009.html

It really puts life into perspective when a video game is now 24 years old. The classic racer on the PS1, came out on December 23rd, 1997 and the rest is pretty much history. I remember playing this game on a demo disc for a while. My parents, who aren't even gamers, played that same demo quite a bit. It's so weird that it was 24 years ago that I played that demo, or saw my mom and dad playing the same game with their friends. I'm 32 years old now, and it's weird seeing all of these games and movies I enjoyed being around for 20+ years. 1997 though, what a good year.

George R.R. Martin, the creator of the Song of Ice and Fire series (AKA Game of Thrones), is not much of a gamer. But, he did reveal recently that he did do some gaming back in the day. The games he played? Well they were Railroad Tycoon, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Master of Orion. Honestly only am familiar with Railroad Tycoon myself. I know the other two, but don't know enough on them to say anything. But yeah, those are three of the games he played. As you know, he's heavily involved with Elden Ring, so it's kinda cool to know he did do some gaming in the past. But yeah, makes you wonder if he'd be into games today if he tried them out. When it comes to some games, does drinking make the games more fun? I used to drink a fair amount back when I was younger, but these days not so much. I can't be bothered to drink it half the time, and when I do, I get nasty hangovers, so year, no go for me. But I did enjoy drinking while gaming sometimes. It can heighten the game for some I imagine, but it's not always going to heighten things. For me, I probably got sick playing games drunk. What about you though? Do you ever find that alcohol makes some games more enjoyable?

Wow, I didn't even know they were making an Among Us VR game, did you guys? It actually looks like it'll be a lot of fun. If you have played the original game, you know what it entails. But now in VR, I think it's going to be even crazier. Check out the short trailer:

What video game will the future IRL look most like?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
As in Real Life? Not sure what you mean. Like whay our world will look like if it was a game? If that's the question, I would answer with this. We could be in a post apocalyptic world like fallout. I doubt we'll have zombies, but we'll have sickness, war and other issues. I of course hope that doesn't happen. -
Ever do gaming studies/beta tests on new gaming products?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I mostly did stuff on the 360 and Xbox one side of things. But I haven't done any betas or anything since. I wouldn't mind trying out some for new gen consoles. But I need the consoles first. -
Yeah most of the time the employees are awesome. There is for sure abuse by the management side of the company. They don't usually care for their employees. But it's nice to hear some people are being treated well.

Do you ever keep a journal about the games you play?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
Ah I see. That's understandable. Our voices sound different to our own selves. I am not a fan of my own voice. Sure that counts. I mean you're writing your feelings and thoughts on a game, so it totally counts. -
Yeah I usually play on the weekends when I have free time. I chill most nights. And have time during the day to hang out for I start work in the afternoon. That's fair. I don't usually buy day one anymore. I'm too cheap lol.

Splatoon 2 has been out a while too. Surprised it has dropped any in price. Then again Nintendo games tend to stay up there in price for quite a while.

Does PlayStation have a design your own controller option?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Playstation
Oh for sure they would. It's kinda sad that they are so tough on these third party companies doing the ps5 skins or cases. Yeah I don't think they have a service themselves, at least not yet. But I could see them making their own one of these days. -
Only some football game where i bought a player upgrade or something. Other than that, I don't bother buying digital stuff in mobile games. I'll sometimes buy a game, but I rarely pay to remove ads or stuff. Of the ads are a problem I usually uninstall the game.

Does anyone else have this amount of troubling platforming in older games?
Kane99 replied to Anakulos's topic in Video Games
A lot of retro games had stiff controls. A lot of games done them right, like Super Mario bros. But there were a lot of other games with poor jumping. The NES Simpsons games had a tough jump that I always had trouble with. I think it's because Bart sometimes slides after, but that may be during an ice level. But yeah, some games just had bad jumping. And welcome to the forum! 👋 -
True. But you also need to consider that SMB3 was a mass produced game. So there is a very big chance you could still find many sealed copies in pristine condition. I've heard of rare games being found in old untouched warehouses. I wouldn't doubt Nintendo has tons in their own warehouses yet. Little samson has more of a chance to sell for more due to its rarity. I'm sure if someone had one graded, it could fetch a lot at auction. But who's to say their appraisal is right. These appraisal houses are hard to trust after all the recent news. So the games could be worth even less. But I think they're trying to get the market to go up. Even with it being a niche market. They want to catch those who are interested in nostalgia. Half the time these people don't know the market and pay millions for a game. Then you see more popping up at auction in same to similar conditions going for lower and lower at auction.

Collectors - Do you have an obsession for any particular game or franchise?
Kane99 replied to Sharon's topic in Gaming Forum
I sadly don't have a big gaming collection, at least in terms of memorabilia or collectibles. I do have some Mario items, a yoshi figure and that's honestly about it. I want to start collecting more toys, figures, collectibles in general based on Nintendo, Playstation and maybe some Xbox stuff. If I see anything unique in a thrift store, I pick it up. Now that I'm working, I might start to buy some amiibos and other similar figures. -
Do you find your skills in video games lacking as you get older?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
That's awesome. I think for me my skills are about the same, I just tire more easily at a challenge and give up more often. I think it I actually pushed through and kept at the games I play, I'd get through. I'm just lazy and don't like a challenge these days. -
Yeah in a way sure. You can count easter eggs, at least if it requires you to utilize a glitch or some other actions to get in. But I'm kinda referring to how game testers have to do the same thing over and over to see if any problems occur. I figure their intentions are to break the game, so that they can correct it. But instead, maybe it breaks the game where you can skip levels, or alter the game via code somehow.

I wouldn't say music is better or worse than gaming. I like music in most games. But, there are some games with awful music, so I often turn it down or off. Most games soundtracks add to the game. I'd argue that Red Dead Redemption or RDR2 are better because of the soundtracks. They add to the tension, the action, the acting. Same thing with Silent Hill 2. You need that screeching, haunting music, otherwise you don't always feel the game you're playing. Music in games heightens things. At least when it makes sense. Some game music can be awful. But I wouldn't say that I like music more or less than games. I'd say they both stand on their own. I like both. I like music when I want it and I like to game when I can too.

Do you ever feel like you don't get enough time with games?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I'll be going back to work right after Christmas myself. Christmas day I'm going to relax and maybe play some games. We'll see. Yeah I find I stick with certain games longer than most new ones. -
That's a good way of putting it. Maybe breaking isn't the right term, but more exploiting the games glitches and problems to get further.

Yeah I get that. I played a bit of Hello neighbor in the past and yeah that dude can cause some stress and anxiety. Never got too far in that game though.
