Do you guys like to sometimes watch others play video games instead of you? Maybe you want to watch your favorite lets players, or maybe you just want to watch a playthrough for a game you don't ever intend to play. Do you ever do anything like that? Or do you prefer to play the game yourself and experience it by your own hands? I don't mind watching others play, because I can't play every game, and I figure if I can at least watch some lets plays I can see games I never would have played. I get why some wouldn't like it, but I think it's fine. As long as you enjoy it, why does it matter which way you view it?

Well I did not see this coming, but I honestly think it's a smart move on their part. I'm not sure why they didn't do this sooner actually, I could see it paying off if they did it sooner, but it may be too later. At least in my opinion. But, I can see this helping PUBG get some more of their userbase back. Check the trailer out below. It will go free to play January 12, 2022

VR is already growing at such a massive level, that I think one day things in VR are going to become even more realistic. What do you think VR needs to do, in order to make it feel realistic enough? I figure with that Omni controller (the one you can simulate running on), and a good VR set, you can simulate a lot. But I think a body suit that simulates when you get hit in the game. Not like pain, but you'll feel a pulse with a quick vibe to simulate where you've been hit, say in a FPS game or something. What do you think VR needs to do next essentially?

Have you ever modified your consoles with your own art? I remember back when I had a 360, I did some art on my faceplate, but it wasn't anything special. I know that a lot of people modified their own consoles with their own art. Have you ever done that? I wouldn't mind painting an old console and making some cool design. Would you ever do that with a newer console?

What are some of the games you'd like to see released now? Do you think we missed any potential classics? I think that Boo game would have been fun. Would have been something fresh imo. The Haunt one would have been awesome to see happen too, the artwork alone looks like it'd result in a quality game.

Just watched the full playthrough of this test demo, and I so hope it's an early promo for an eventual game, because this looks like what games were going to be years ago. idk, just looks fun. But, that driving near the end looked rough. I'm getting a True Crime: Streets of LA vibe from the car shooting segments. Wonder if this will result in a full game. Because I'd be tempted to give this a try. Unreal Engine is killing it these days.

Are there any settings we should turn on or off when it comes to gaming? On PC that is. I heard a while back that some people suggest turning certain settings off, or changing a setting somewhere to get the best experience. But I always worry about those tip videos because I see most of them through reels but they originally are probably from tiktok. But is there anything I should know, to get the best experience from my games? Any settings I can change or turn off/on that could help? I just want to make sure all the games I play, are safe to play on my PC, and if setting changes can make it easier on my PC, I'd love to hear the tips/suggestions.

Games with which you have a love-hate relationships?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
For me, Call of Duty. I grew up playing it, from its early days on the PC and PS2, to the 360 days, and onward. Sadly, I have had a love hate thing with it for a long time. Sometimes I love the game, like COD4, Black Ops, MW3, and a few others. I got fed up when MW2 became a hacked mess fairly early on. I wanted to love the game, but they barely did anything to stop the hackers and it was disheartening. I quit playing that game due to it. But the games after weren't as hacked, or so I didn't notice. Maybe it was because I played less and less of the series as they came out. These days I don't really touch COD anymore. I will sometimes play with the nephew, but my brother mostly plays the game now. Grand Theft Auto is another, but I want to blame it on fatigue and the fact that I've been wanting story DLC over online garbage. But they will never deliver that for me. 😞 Madden is another. The game has become a shell of itself. I know most people here are not fans of Madden, and that's fair. The game is not like it was back when it was in its prime back in the PS2 era, and possibly early on in the 360/ps3 era. These days, Madden is not what it once was, it's a mess of a game that feels like a downgrade than some 20+ year old games. There's a lot more I'm sure, but those are the ones I have a love/hate thing for. -
I use the night light setting in Windows 10. It makes your screen a tint of orange so that it better protects your eyes from the blue light that screens are known to omit. I have it on my Ubuntu laptop as well. I look at screens all day, so I kinda need to have it toned down a bit. I have a chrome extension called Dark Reader that makes every site into a night mode/dark mode. It can be annoying sometimes though, because some sites have their own night mode setting, and sometimes those are better. But it is better than looking at bright screens. Only downside is that it can sometimes cause issues with reading text, so you may have to turn it off for some sites. But I'd recommend it.

It seems to have died out a bit sadly. I don't see a whole lot about it on social media, youtube or anywhere else. I swear they were doing something where you could get your own avatar printed off in a physical toy like the ones featured in the videos. But I may have misheard. Either way, I think it would have been cool if more people jumped into it. I never played the game, but it looks kinda fun.

Yup. They are doing it with pretty much any type of gaming memorabilia, or anything collectible. Remember when McDonalds were giving out Pokemon cards recently? Well scalpers grabbed those all up. It happens for anything that relates to anything collectible. Which sucks, because if something I enjoyed as a kid makes a comeback at McDonalds, I would like to get my hands on one lol. And they will continue to do it until laws are in place or until rules and regulations are set up in stores that are a bit more stricter. True. They could easily pop in a fake or broken console and leave with a ton of cash. I'm sure many have been scammed like that. 😞 But I agree, meeting in public is exactly the best move to take. I would add, maybe asking to take a picture with the person just in case they do give you something broken or fake. I get that. I'm not even using the waiting lists myself. I don't expect to get one for a ways off yet anyway. I may be landing a new job here soon though, so I may have some more income to play around with. But I'm going to wait on the PS5 and Series X still. Don't feel the need to rush. I've been gaming on PC more as of late anyway, and honestly don't play anything on my Xbox One these days. I just use it for netflix, hbo and youtube now days. But, it's starting to look like the dual platform games are starting to fade away. Like, with how they were releasing games on PS4 and PS5. A lot of the recent reveals are only coming out on new gen, which is about time, considering this gen is on its first year already.

List the most important games from your childhood/teen years
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I have an extra nostalgia feeling with it, because I remember it being the only game my dad has ever played. Well, by gameI mean the demo of Gran Turismo. I remember he, my mom and some of her friends would smoke and play the Gran Turismo demo. I kinda wanted to get my dad a racing wheel and some racing games to see how he does with that. He likes to drive, so I think he'd get a kick out of playing on a newer console and devices. -
Sadly it's pretty limited. If they allowed you to upload your own skins and colors, I'd take advantage of it. But from what I've seen of it, they don't give you a whole lot of options. You can pretty much color it however you want, add different color buttons, etc. But I'd prefer if they allowed us to modify it however we want, as long as it doesn't trip up some copyright issues or something. Though I must admit, they added a ton to their current design lab. I'm seeing you can get a metal Dpads and triggers, so I am kinda tempted to make one. But not sure I'm down to pay nearly $100 for all the bells and whistles.

That's smart. I mean to my knowledge, the console doesn't yet have a ton of games anyway, so I'm fine with waiting until I can get a legit PS5 from a legit store and not some jerk trying to overcharge me. Have patience, you'll find a PS5 in the wild eventually. If you haven't already, sign up to the waitlist that some sites are doing. At least you'll then be notified if a console is available for purchase. Same here. You're only fueling them to keep scaling. They'll take that money, buy more consoles and then rinse and repeat until the next big product drops. It's just the way it goes sadly. 😞 Oh it has to eventually. We're only over a year into this new generation, things will eventually die down. I imagine once a price drop happens, scalpers are going to move on most likely. At least I hope so. There will be deals down the road, and by the time we all get a PS5, it'll have a small library of great games ready for us to play. We can still get some life out of our old consoles for the time being, at least I know I can.

Has anyone here played this game? I guess it kinda went overlooked, because I never heard of it until recently. I hear it's a game where you can make your own custom character, and now you can actually have them make an actual figure out of your avatar, but not 100% sure if that is correct, as I swear there was another video featuring such an option. Anyway, the game is called Lamo, and I guess it's part of their Lamoverse or something. This game came out in 2019 and I had no clue about it until now. Here's a trailer for the steam version, but it has been removed from steam for a while now. I think it might only be available on mobile now, but not 100% sure. Or it might be available through their website. But I can't seem to find a way to purchase it. They also released figures from high profile influencers, like Ninja for example, and you can use those figures towards AR style things on their app. Plus you can unlock those characters after buying one of the vinyl toys. And here's a vid going into details about the figures: Here's their site for more details - https://www.lamoverse.com/ Is this something that interests you? I'm not one for the Funko style figures. But if you can get one made based on your avatar, I'd buy one of myself I think.

This game 👇👇 I owned it growing up, and thought it was kinda cool for the time. I wasn't very good at the game, but I did enjoy it from time to time. Did anyone here ever beat this game? I kinda wish more celebs allowed their likeness to be used in games like this. They even got him to voice his character, which is easier said than done. Most of the time when a celeb was in a game, it was some other person doing the acting. Anyway, who remembers this game? I don't remember a whole lot, aside from the fact that it was a top down kinda game, that mixed different angles. Which made it tough for some platforming areas that I always had trouble with lol. Here's a video showcasing some of the gameplay.

For those wondering, they have officially released the game and it's out of early access. You can check out the new official trailer for it below. I have a few friends who have been trying to get me to try it, but I don't know if it's for me. Who here has played it and would consider jumping back into it now that it's officially released?

Oh Noice! Sniper Elite is back and it looks like much of the same sniping action. If it aint broke, I guess don't fix it right? Anyway, it's nice to see Sniper Elite back, but it doesn't look like they really changed much. Is this one a buy for you? Also trailer is age restricted, so you will have to be signed in to view it. Kinda hoped they would have jumped to a new time and setting, but I guess they have more story to tell for WWII.

I liked in the original Assassin's Creed games, when you got to take over for your present self. That storyline faded away (I won't spoil it) and hasn't really been done the same since. When I saw how we learned the ancestors skills while in the animus, it made me hope for a possible sequel where you can actually be an assassin in modern day America. Climbing up skyscrapers and all kinds of massive buildings. I think it'd be cool to get an Assassin's Creed game that takes place in modern times. They clearly tried to deliver a story in the present, so why not have it where we become an Assassin because of the animus, and you're now tasked to take out high value targets in the modern world. You can still use stealth and your hidden blades, but now you have other weapons to your advantage. idk, I think it's be cool and I think that's the next step for Assassin's Creed.

What are some of the best Formula 1 racing games out there? I think I only ever played one F1 game, and that was back in the PS1 or PS2 era. I've been kinda getting into racing again as of late since I've been playing Wreckfest, and was wondering if there are any new F1 style racing games releasing anytime soon? Or games that are already out? Maybe for PC and Xbox One? I'm open to trying many new games, so keep the suggestions flowing if you can.

Well cool, looks like Sony is trying to make more acquisitions of studios like Microsoft has been as of late. For those wondering who Valkyrie Entertainment is, they are a studio that seems to help other studios produce games. I see they have helped with Halo Infinite, but also helped with God of War production. So, they don't really have their own games from what I can see, they just help produce others. I think this is a good buy for them. I'm guessing they will be focussing more on the new God of War going forward, as it seems they have worked on that. We'll see how that turns out. How did you end up playing the main platform that you do?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
For me it's a bit tougher to answer. I started off as a Nintendo boy. But that was before I even knew about the console wars. I then got a genesis and then I got a PS1. After that it was mostly Playstaion. I got the PS2 soon after and then after that I instead got the 360. Reason why, price. I was mad that the PS3 dropped for $600 I think it was back then. Then I got an Xbox One and then now I'm mostly on PC. -

Do you get fatigued by some types of games faster than others?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
That's fair. Tutorials are a big help if you're stuck or playing a complex game. I don't use them as much as I probably should. But I never feel like they're needed all the time. But yeah, for the menus, I think I will try to utilize the tutorials more often. -
You should revisit it if you could. It's a great action horror game. Plus it was remastered recently. I'm hearing the new one is going to be more of a survival horror as well. Which kinda scares me, because I'm used to the first game and it's style. I'm excited for 2022 and 2023. Hopefully I can finally get a ps5 and series x to experience all these games.
