  1. Nice, I'll check them out. iRacing sounds familiar, but I don't think I have ever tried it yet. Thanks for sharing! 🙂 Yeah, not a fan of racing in real life. I like some racing games, but was never too big into F1, Nascar or racing in general. But in game form I am into a lot more. I even enjoy some hunting games/sims.
  2. Yeah I think that'd be a good idea too, especially with how many small and independent studios there are out there. I think some studios and companies do that anyway with bigger companies, but I can see it being a problem for them too. Amazon is not a company I 100% respect, they have made a lot of mistakes in recent years and it's hard to trust them, so I can see some studios not even wanting to work with them.
  3. Yeah that's the sad truth. Sucks, because there's so many games that I'd love to see backwards compatible on the PS4/5. I just wish they could make it where the system just plays the game. They don't have to release it digitally. But of course, Sony would want to make cash on those games instead, so they'd either license them again or let them die out.
  4. Most of my disc based games are just in their standard case. As for my cart based games, they are loose. I want to get cases for each of them. I had a bunch of plastic cases for them, but didn't have enough for all of them. For better storage I just took them out and placed them on a shelf. I might install glass over the games at some point. I want to build a big shelf with a bunch of games, and make glass doors/screens for it. But yeah, I may need to buy plastic cases for them all for the time being.
  5. Well I didn't see this coming, but I guess it makes sense he'd jump into more gaming adventures. Supposedly he wanted to make his own battle royale game. No news if that will still happen, but it looks like Midnight Society is the new studio name he went with. He co-founded the studio with Robert Bowling, Quinn DelHoyo, and Summit Gupta. So not a scrub studio it seems. Will they succeed as a studio? You can read more about this news here - https://www.looper.com/707486/everything-we-know-about-dr-disrespects-new-game-studio/
  6. I guess Xbox can laugh about their mistakes and blunders, as they just announced a new poster featuring the Red Ring of Death, or RROD for those. I suffered my fair share of these Red rings, as I had to send my console in 5 times. Not sure I am into paying $25 for a poster like that. The reason they released this, is because they're making a six-part documentary called Power On about the Xbox on its 20 year anniversary. I guess there will be an episode for the RROD itself, so that may be why there's a poster for it. Would you buy this? I don't think so. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2021/12/microsoft-will-sell-you-a-25-poster-to-celebrate-a-major-xbox-hardware-failure/
  7. With the apps on your phone, do you ever pay for the full game to get rid of ads and other annoying popups? I have only done so once, and that was a with a football game on mobile. I also bought some players in game. But, do you ever feel the need to pay to get rid of the ads in most paid for apps and games?
  8. What were some gaming challenges, bosses or enemies you could never seem to prepare for? I'd say anything in Dark Souls for me. I don't know how many times I was ill-prepared when it came to fighting a boss or certain enemy. It's partly why I don't play Dark Souls much. Other than that, maybe the Colossus' in Shadow of the Colossus. They were never easy to prepare for, at least for me. What about you?
  9. The new PS5 branded custom covers are coming soon, and it made me wonder if anyone will buy a couple to modify with their own art work. Does anyone have any interest in modifying their own PS5 covers? What kind of artwork do you plan to put on it? Any fun ideas in mind?
  10. Would it be wise to one day get all of my games put into dust covers? Even disc based games with plastic cases? Reason why I ask, is because even in a jewel case or a plastic DVD style case, the case also starts to discolor or if you're dealing with dust, it can get dirty and sometimes greasy depending on the humidity in the area of storage. I figure adding that extra barrier, will help protect even disc based games.
  11. At some point, video games will degrade over time and be lost to time. It is inevitable, which is why I am for game preservation for older and retro games. Especially if the device you can play them on, is no longer available. And if the copyright is lost, those games become part of the public domain, which means that sites like the way back machine, who have sections for dos games, can submit them legally. We'll never see games from Nintendo themselves, being added to any game preservation, because they already did that when they put their games out digitally. But, there are other studios that made games back then, and it's possible some of those games could hit the public domain one day. I just hope that all video games get preserved somehow, so that we never lose the games we all grew up playing.
  12. Game Pass has been an ever growing bag of brilliance and I am so happy to have a service like it. Because, it means I don't have to spend a ton for video games, as I can get a ton of them for a smaller fee. Anyway, it's not about why I love Game Pass, but this topic is about what is expected to arrive this mid December, which is pretty much right now. What new additions you say? Here are just a few: Mortal Kombat 11 Lake Race with Ryan Transformers: Battlegrounds The rest of the list can be viewed at the article here - https://www.windowscentral.com/here-are-surprise-games-coming-game-pass-middle-december All of these games are releasing on Game Pass on the 16th.
  13. What are some games that have as realistic as possible guns? Like they are realistic in how they work, how you can alter them in games, how they shoot and so on. Attachments as well. I know a lot of FPS games try to be realistic, but the shooting and stuff probably is far from what it's like in real life. Anyway, I know there was some games where you could take apart your weapons and change around parts. What games do that the best?
  14. NFTs, or NFT like systems are coming to Ubisoft and their future games. And it makes me wonder if other studios and companies will also jump into the fray. Do you think that other companies will make even more money because of this? Or will it be a passing fad? I mean, I thought this would have been forgotten by now, but NFTs seem to be a part of everything now. I don't get it.
  15. For me it's EA, Activision, 2K and a few others that really get on my nerves. Ubisoft is another, but I don't usually have issues with them. But they have done some shady stuff in recent years, so they're not off the hook here. But yeah, for me, it's mostly EA, Activision and 2K, or Take-Two since 2K is owned by them. Just so much bad things coming out about these companies. EA will never change, it's like they enjoy being hated. Activision still hasn't outed their CEO who knew about sexual assault allegations and did pretty much nothing to help.
  16. One thing I noticed when I don't use tutorials, is that there has been times where I miss a certain ability because I outright skip them. I think one of the Assassin's Creed games I had this happen to me, where I found out there was a move I could do to make fights easier. And if I had just done the tutorials, I would have known what to do. So maybe I should start to do some of the tutorials, so that I don't miss anything. I figured I would have figured out all the moves as I played, as most games do tutorials as you play. But I think AC had different moves you could open at one point, so maybe that was it.
  17. What old consoles and PC devices would you suggest I use to make a emulationstation type of thing? I would like to supe up either an older PC, an old Xbox or even an Xbox 360 to see about putting emulators on it. Do you guys think it'd be a good idea to use an Xbox? I know many people mod their Xbox to make it into an emulator for retro games. But I figure a PC with more power would be better and I could even emulate Xbox and PS2 games. What would you suggest to use? I know some people use Wii's and Wii U's, but I don't have either of those on hand, and the Wii U has kinda gone up in price as of late. Any suggestions?
  18. Has anyone heard of this one? It was revealed like 2 years ago, but has yet to be released. But, it looks like it's expected to drop sometime in 2022. No idea on the exact date of release, but 2022 should be it. They released a trailer those 2 years ago as well, and I don't remember watching it. What do you think about this game? Will it be a good quality horror game? It's also clearly inspired by PT, but what game wasn't in this past generation?
  19. I can't say I ever thought I'd see a day where a game like Alien: Isolation would be coming to the iPhone and Android markets on December 16th. But I guess it makes sense, considering how the game is played. I just don't know how easy or hard it would be to evade the alien. Would you guys be into checking out this game on mobile? Do you think it'll play as good as the console/pc versions of the game?
  20. Unity is a great game engine that many utilize to make their games. And it seems that novice and small time developers can utilize Unity to their advantage to make games they otherwise wouldn't be capable of doing. I know Unity is regarded as an easier to handle game engine, but has anyone here produced their own game through Unity? How was the process of developing a game through it? I know there's been a lot of people who made games through Unity, and a lot of them are bad, but they also just utilize Unity and its assets only sometimes, which is why some games turn out to be so bad. Anyway, if you have made a game with Unity, please tell us how it was. And how was it compared to other game engines out there?
  21. Unreal Engine 5 has killed it with the new Matrix demo that came out recently, boasting impressive visuals and graphics, that some may think it's too real. With Unreal Engine 5 games are going to become very realistic. The recent Matrix Demo may not have been photorealistic enough, but it was very close, in that uncanny valley as they call it, between real and fake. Anyway, If Unreal Engine 5 doesn't make it a reality, then I could see Unreal Engine 6 being the one to make it a reality. Do you think that we'll be seeing photorealism sooner than we first thought?
  22. Ah I see. Yeah I should consider making a list then too. I wouldn't mind going out to collect more games, and I know I don't want to pick up something I already have. I was thinking about getting one of those apps to track the games. Have you considered moving to an app like that? I thought of just making a list on my phone as well, figure I could use a notepad app with a check mark option and that would work just fine for me. But yeah how big is that printout?
  23. Yup, I was aware it was just a small portion of it, but still, from that alone it looks like you have a lot to get through. I am too lazy to type up all the games I own. But I could only imagine what it was like for you to write out all the games you owned. I knew a guy at another site I frequented, and he joined up on a lot of trading sites and would grab every game he could. He was trying to collect everything, good and bad to have the biggest collection. Dude was a bit out of this world though and got on many peoples nerves lol.
  24. In recent years though, a lot of the people leaking stuff has been true. I am nervous as well, because it sounds like they aren't close to being done, and if released soon, people may be disappointed. What I think I'm most worried about, is that they will half-ass the story and online will be where most of, or all of their time will be devoted to. And that's what they will probably end up doing, considering that GTA Online is their hot seller. Without GTA Online, they probably wouldn't be updating so much. And other people are worried that it will be online only, even the single player. I hope that rumor is not true.
  25. A kid I went to high school with, used to play COD games a lot, he still does in fact, and during the COD years on the 360, I remember him often tallying his win-loss record when he did 1V1 games. Had a record for that, as well as quick scope matches. He would often be challenged by people and would face them. Anyway, the topic isn't about him, it's about if you tally your online career at all. Do you count the amount of wins and losses you have? Or do you just not care enough to do that? I don't care enough to mark down that stuff. But I know some people think it's special. Most online games will give you these details anyway. But, would you still tally your win/losses?
