  1. Since YouTube is pretty much dying out, or shall I say, paying less and less for content creators, it made me wonder how Facebook is for streaming gaming content. I see a lot of streams happening more and more on Facebook, and it seems to be hugely popular, getting a lot of views, engagement and shares. Does anyone here stream at all? If so, would you consider streaming on Facebook? I hear people get paid more streaming on Facebook as well. Do you know anyone who streams gaming on facebook and enjoy it?
  2. Yeah there are a few. I did a quick search and found one of the top ones being National Videogame Museum in Frisco Texas. And on a deeper, or a fairly fast dive, I found wikipedia already saved me the time by listing all the video game museums out there, at least in terms of what has been entered on wikipedia. There may be others out there yet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_game_museums Wish there was one in Michigan. Oh well.
  3. I'm hoping they start producing real console/pc games that are actually good. Not just shovelware, app store games, but AAA games, or titles that can compete with some of the best out today. If Netflix wanted this to blow up, they'd have their own studio cranking out games. They could possibly be the next best game studio out there. They have the money to make it a reality. Who's to say they can't do it? If they hire the best people for the job, they could be making games similar to The Last of Us, GTA, Call of Duty, etc. And not just triple A games, but I could see Netflix reveling in indie games. They won't go very far just doing mobile games, well idk maybe I'm wrong. They could probably rack in a ton from microtransactions and all that, because mobile is good for that. But I think to really blow up, they need to make strides in serious games, indie titles and new ideas.
  4. That's very likely. Especially since I think he's still CEO as we speak and no action has been taken. I think I heard something about another possible walkout by employees, but that could have been another studio recently. Either way, this is messed up, and I don't get why they haven't kicked him out yet. I believe it could be what killamch89 said here. There's something more going on here that will likely be revealed if he is removed as CEO. Maybe some of the people accused of sexual assault are on the board and are keeping him on because if he's let go, their problems will come to light. That's what I'm going to guess is going on here. Because any other company would have removed him from CEO or he would have resigned from his position. As of this moment, it looks like Bobby Kotick is still the CEO of Activision/Blizzard. Somethings up.
  5. I've never done it, but I think if you have a group of friends who are into it, it can't hurt to try out. I'm not a very social person off the internet, so it would have to be really close friends to get me to go out there. I would be out of my comfort zone, but with friends, it'd be easier. I think it could be a fun thing to do though, just not sure if it's my thing. But to each their own. If you enjoy it, more power to ya.
  6. Yup, and to think years ago I had a lot of respect for them. But they continually mess up and do dumb things, so it's becoming harder to side with them, especially when they're becoming the next EA/Activision at this point. In this case, not so much. It reminds me of the time that React channel tried to copyright the phrase "React". But in the end they faced more backlash than anything and decided not to bother with that. I see that being much the same, as the names aren't similar enough to cause any confusion. It's just a greedy company being more greedy. Exactly. I don't even get how they think they have a case here either. A name being similar isn't enough to tell someone to cease use. I'm kinda hoping EA, as much as I can't stand them, will step up and pay any court costs if it happens to come to that. It kinda reminds me when Elder Scrolls sued about a game having the name of their game being "Scrolls". I don't think anyone should be able to copyright a single word, especially when it's kind of a common word, or well known word. Yeah, there's a movie called It Takes Two. I'm sure there are books, and other forms of media with a similar name as well. Except the name isn't an identical match. The names are different enough that it's probably considered fair use. I don't think they have a case for this name at all. If they copyrighted "Take-Two" that's one thing, but I'm pretty sure they didn't copyright "It Takes Two" unless they just did so recently in spite of the game.
  7. I have a friend who wants me to get into Second Life with him, but I don't know if I can be bothered to play a game like it. I had no idea it was even still around until someone mentioned possibly playing it. I looked it up, and it's still alive and kicking. Do you think a game like Second Life is worth playing today? I can't believe this game has been around since 2003, I feel so damn old lol. If you still play this game, is it worth it for a noob like myself to jump in? Or should I look for something different?
  8. Are there any popular video game museums in the US? Or maybe even ones that feature old PCs and PC gaming. I know there are a couple out there, but what would you all say is the better museums out there? I'd love to see if there is a Nintendo or Mario museum out there. I'm sure there's bound to be old PC museums and all that good stuff. What museums would you recommend? Also, would you be into starting your own museum for video games and gaming history?
  9. What do you guys think is best for gaming? A keyboard or a controller? I suppose it depends on the genre. Lets say FPS? I think most would say a mouse and keyboard for that. Personally I go with controller for FPS games, but maybe I should start using mouse/keyboard more often. Yeah same here. I may prefer controller, but I can adapt to whatever it is I'm playing with. You kinda have to play some games.
  10. There have been a few games out there made by just one person or a very small group of people. Stardew Valley is one that comes to mind, as well as Fez I believe, but there are probably many other games made by just 1 person or a group. What other games are you aware of that are made by just one person or a small group? I can't think of any others off the top of my head, but I know there are more out there. I think that Stellar Warfare I mentioned a while ago is made by one or two people.
  11. It's a game that looks to be inspired by Silent Hill, with its fixed camera angles and is said to be inspired by the "Old classics" so I'm guessing it's also somewhat inspired by Resident Evil. It looks very similar to Silent Hill though, from the controls, the imagery, atmosphere, etc. But I think it's kinda going for a RE feel with the monsters. Check some gameplay below. It's not yet available for purchase, but so far it's looking good. I think some work on the character model and it could look even better. I kinda find the walking animation a bit stiff, but maybe that will be fixed before release.
  12. Check out GameByte's list of every main Resident Evil Game ranked from worst to best. The top 3 are: Resident Evil 2 Resident Evil Resident Evil 4 You can see the full list here. Do you agree with these picks? Or would you rank them differently? I'm glad they didn't put the newer games in the top 3. How would you order this list yourself? Read the rest here - https://www.gamebyte.com/best-resident-evil-games/
  13. This and that power washer sim game looks really relaxing. Another reason I think it might be relaxing is because I remember playing this free game that came with my old PC back in the day. It was a lawn mowing game where dogs and other people would chase after you. But Lawn Mowing Sim looks way more relaxing and fun. Doesn't it look relaxing?
  14. I get anxious a lot with these games. I think it's the talking to other people that gets me, because you gotta defend yourself and sometimes have to try and accuse other players. So that in itself is another thing that causes me anxiety. And on top of that, I'm slow when it comes to these games, so I often can't think on the spot like some others can.
  15. My current phone I don't even have a grass screen on. Surprisingly I'm not dealing with any scratches or issues, but would you still suggest a screen protector, maybe a tempered glass one? I had one for my old phone, but I was always very careful with my phone, so I never felt the need to add one to my new one. Plus, I hate installing them, because I always get dust or hair under it. Instead I got a cheap case for it and called it a day. Do you guys bother with using screen protectors for newer phones?
  16. I think you can enjoy games while not enjoying the controls. Does anyone remember the Wolverine game that came out on the 360/ps3? The one where you play as Wolverine and his skin starts to show damage. I remember being a bit annoyed about some of the controls, but overall I had a fun time with that game. I stopped playing during this car segment you have to be precise on, and I just gave up on it. But yeah, that game had some stiff controls if I remember correctly.
  17. No, not even to go back to see what it was like to experience gaming for the very first time? I think that'd be unique. But I get that, wanting to go back to the games that started it all for you, a nostalgia trip. I grew up in the 90s, so those games are heavy on my mind, but to go back further and experience the rise in video games, would be cool I think.
  18. There is definitely a case to be made that being good in video games translates to being good in some other things. I believe hand eye coordination is a big thing gamers have. I mean, who wouldn't have good hand eye coordination after playing games like Need For Speed back in the 2000s. Or the countless FPS games you may have played over the years. You also may have better control in your hands and arms. But I'm no doctor or scientist so can't say for certain. But I think it helps in some regards for sure.
  19. What are some games you considered a masterpiece when playing, but can't see yourself ever going back to it? For me, I think it's The Last of Us. I really enjoyed that game, and consider it to be a masterpiece in gameplay and storytelling, but I can't see myself ever re-visiting it. Also, I don't think I could ever re-play The telltale Walking Dead games again. The idea of replaying it sounds like a chore. I remember you couldn't move that fast in game. If you could move faster I'd consider it. But also, I just don't see a point to. Anyway, what are some games you consider a masterpiece, but can't see yourself playing a second time around?
  20. We've all played those types, the ones who proclaim to be the best at certain games. I have a friend who says he's the best at Call of Duty. Dude is good, no doubt about it, but he's not close to being the best. I remember years back some friends and I joined him in his attempt to do a 1v1 match. He and some other guy was talking crap to each other and then it lead to a 1v1 match. I recorded the 1v1 match back then, but lost the footage. I just took clips of each quick scope the guy got on my friend. It was so funny seeing him be destroyed in the game. But hearing him scream about losing was the greatest haha. He was mad, and I think he got even madder when I showed the video. What was even funnier, is that I didn't get all the kills in one video. Back then the game didn't let you capture many clips, but damn, was it funny. Have you ever bested someone who proclaimed to be a pro or the best? How was that feeling for you?
  21. Sure, anyone could be, but it's easier said than done. I imagine most esports players practice for well over 10 hours a day, if not more. I like to think I'm skilled at some games, but even going up against the pros I wouldn't have much of a chance. If anything I'd lose fairly fast if I tried. But yeah, it's possible with dedication and practice that you can become an esports player. I wish I could play like that, because if I could, I'd give a tournament a try. Actually, I think I'd still try even with how bad I am. 😄
  22. With the recent news of PlayStation possibly making their own Gamepass competitor called Spartacus, there was a mention of PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP games being featured. Do you think that this will include all of the catalog of games being backwards compatible? Or will it be like with gamepass where they can only license a few of the games from their back catalog to put up? I think if Sony could actually make that a reality, it would be a huge blow to Xbox, because they are only making a small portion of games backwards compatible, but if Sony can do all of them, and not have to worry about licensing, then they have a great console on their hands with the PS5.
  23. With their recent attempts to jump into mobile games, I can see them trying to jump somewhat into the PC game. Now I don't think they would port every game over to PC, but I could see maybe a PC side of Nintendo one day, where some of their games release on PC. We already see Sony releasing some of their games via PC, so it's not far from reality. And with Nintendo already jumping to mobile, the idea of PC gaming sounds quote possible. Do you think Nintendo will support PC gaming as an option in the future? Or will most or all of their games stay on consoles?
  24. I'm so happy to see that more and more games are supporting cross play. This not only brings gamers together, but it also helps sell consoles, because it shows that you can game with anyone. But, not all games are cross play, and some will never be. Do you hope that all future games support crossplay? As long as we can turn it on or off, I think it should be something all online games offer. What do you guys think? Will crossplay be a feature in all future online games? A feature that you can just turn on or off like how most games seem to be doing it nowadays.
  25. Sometimes when we play a really tough game, we get angry. Some of us toss the controller down, some of us handle it easier than others, but sometimes we lash out, maybe hit ourselves, or punch a wall, break a keyboard or controller, etc. In the past I found that I would hit my leg or slap myself if the game was proving to be too difficult for me. I know that's very dumb of me, but it's something I did for years now. I'd get frustrated and I'd often hit my leg. Do you ever do something like that? Instead of tossing the controller across the room, I just hurt myself haha. But seriously, where do you take your anger out when dealing with a tough game?
