Saw this meme on the Video Game Memes facebook page just a bit ago. Yeah we still get different versions of consoles, but I don't think anything has released like this since. I miss the days where I could have choice for the look of my console. The N64 did it right with those translucent cases and fun colors. The only downside is that it'd cost a ton to collect all of these at the time. Does anyone have full collect of the N64 consoles? What about other consoles from other generations? I know Xbox was big about translucent cases back in the day. 😄 Anyway, I kinda wish they'd bring back more customization with their consoles. I want more translucent consoles. yeah it aint the 90s anymore, but I don't care. lol

Epic to my knowledge, is the only place that gives so many games away for free, and the great thing about it, is that you don't need to pay anything, there's no Epic Games subscription fee, or requirement of any sort to pay. But, how does Epic afford to give a lot of these games for free? A lot of the games I got from Epic are pretty decent too, they're not slouching. I'm guessing they can afford it by making deals with the developers of said games. Maybe there's some incentive that they'll promote the game or showcase it somehow idk. Do you think Epic will ever go to a paid service in order to get the games? Or will they keep it the way it is?

I had no idea the creator of Stardew Valley was producing another game that looks very similar to Stardew and plays like it. But it looks like there will be some differences. What I like about this developer, is that he works alone and doesn't rush his games. I like how on his site in the faq, he says: Here's some early gameplay that was released not too long ago:

Yup, you heard that right. Good old Saint Nick will be a DLC character for Battlefield 2042 and for some reason fans seem to be more fed up about this, rather than the tons and tons of issues this game has had at launch. I guess according to fans, they aren't happy that Battlefield 2042 is becoming unrealistic with the addition of Santa Claus. But let's be honest, I didn't view Battlefield all that realistic. They don't like that they are trying to be like COD or Fortnite with their skins. And I guess I get their concerns, but this game is far from realistic at this point. But what I find more mind boggling right now, is that this news seems to be blowing up more than the fact the game is a broken mess right now. Are fans just backwards or something? Like I get complaining about the game and how it's playing, but to complain about a Christmas themed skin, is just dumb to me. But idk. I'm also not a veteran Battlefield player, so my opinion doesn't necessarily count I guess. But, what do you think? Do you have any of the games on this list still in box? Sadly my NES collection is just cart based. I used to have some of the boxes and manuals growing up, but I think my sister or parents tossed the boxes sadly. If I had known that NES games would hold value these days, I would have somehow told them not to toss any of the boxes or anything. But who knows for sure when something like that becomes worth money. Anyway, Wata Games recently put out a report that revealed the worth of some boxed games, as well as how many are still in the wild. Of course, they only go off of the games that are sent to them for grading, so totals may differ than what is actually out there. Do any of the games you own show up? You can read more here - https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2021/12/report-reveals-which-sealed-nes-games-are-the-rarest-of-the-rare/ As well, I should note that it was either Wata games or another company like it, that one of their employees was trying to auction off games that they appraised themselves and I guess that was a no-no since they could technically price the games out however they wanted to. I don't remember the full story, but they were accused of increasing prices to inflate the prices in the hopes that other games they sell will go for a lot. But as you know, when you find another pristine copy of the same game, and you just sold it for a ton, the price will likely go down due to there being another one out there. You can read about that here - https://www.blogarama.com/technology-blogs/1343097-lords-gaming-blog/40510426-wata-games-gamings-greatest-scam-victim-misinformation It explains it better than I would haha.

Mobile games are improving with each new device that releases. We already have had COD and Fortnite gracing phones for years now, and soon enough, we may see games get even bigger on mobile. Anyway, that's not the point of this topic. The point is this, are there any new FPS games on the market or coming soon to mobile that rival that of COD and Fortnite and any other FPS for that matter? I got an okay phone, as I could probably play COD and Fortnite, but I want something new, fresh and unique. I already have a handheld controller attachment to make my phone a controller, so all I need are the game suggestions. Mostly FPS, but I'll take a look at third person shooters and other shooters you suggest.

VR is an ever growing thing in the gaming world, but it is far from perfect. There is still a lot that VR is capable of doing and then some. We already have devices for VR that simulates touch, as well the Omni controller allows you to use your feet in VR. But, what more can be done? Will we eventually be able to move every part of our body in VR? Motion capture says that is very likely, if not already. But what do you see coming next for VR? Maybe a full body VR suit? Or something completely different?

I know that with gamepass ultimate it gets you access to Xbox and PC games. But do the Xbox games on gamepass also work on PC? Or is it only a select few that are on both? I know that the PC games won't work on the Xbox side, but if you can get all the Xbox side of gamepass working on PC, that'd be awesome.

What would you guys say are some genres of video games we don't see enough of anymore? Genres I feel that aren't as huge these day are; rhythm games, music/instrument games, motocross games (someone mentioned this genre in another topic recently) and I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but I'm sure there is a lot of genres left in the dust these days. Are there some genres you feel deserve more love these days? If so, which ones?

This game looks interesting. It looks like your traditional survivor game, but with something worse than zombies it seems. It'll be coming out for PlayStation and PC (steam) so it doesn't look to be an exclusive to just PlayStation. You can also find out more details on this game in the article below. https://playstationgalaxy.com/psychological-thriller-game-aftermath-announced/

It's becoming unacceptable. Too many studios are doing it, and idk how they feel they can get away with it. I think what they do, is hope the backlash dies down, and they'll just slowly make the game better. Hell, Cyberpunk 2077 still hasn't come out with an official new gen version of the game, and that game dropped a year ago now. And I hope they take another delay if needed. I think they should allow their studios to make the games they want in the time they feel they can. As long as they give the game time to grow, things should go fine. Unless the game turns out to be mediocre or boring. Studios should take their time, make the game how they want to make it. If it takes a while, so be it. I think studios should be given later due dates, just so that they have the time needed.

Museum studies alumna discovers rare ‘Super Mario Bros. 3’ video game demo
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I don't even know if it's something you could sell legally. Considering it's probably Nintendo's property. Id software wanted to bring NES games to PC, so they tried to port the game themselves and tried to get nintendo on board. It'll probably be put in a museum or donated to one. I don't even know if you can put a price on this. Makes me wonder what else was in the donation box this was found in. Maybe there are more floppy disks with classic NES games. -
This game looks like a lot of fun. But wasn't this game out for a while now? Or did it come out of early access or something? Or am I just confusing it with another game? Because I remember a game in early access that involved a forest, pretty sure it was in the title of the game too. This looks very similar to that. From the gameplays I saw, you would start off in a crashed plane. Maybe it is this one and they finally completed it.

What developers do the best job supporting their games?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
GTA 6 will be just fine, considering it will be developed by the main team at Rockstar. Grove Street Games will not be working on GTA 6 in any capacity, at least I wouldn't imagine they would. They will make sure to make quality when GTA 6 is released. It won't come out like the remastered trilogy, because they make sure to release when games are ready. Unfortunately, they clearly didn't check the remastered trilogy enough to see how much of a mess it was. So I could understand some worry for GTA 6 as well now. GTA 6 will be fine. I'm just worried about their future remasters. -
That's exactly what it is. They want you to take as much time as you can with the game, so they add these collectibles that are small, and all over the map. It made playing Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag a chore. I don't know why I chose to collect them all, but I did. Oh I hate online trophies and achievements. Because eventually those are unattainable if the servers get shut down. Some games you could revive via your own servers, but not every game will work.

Respawn is going to discontinue sales of original Titanfall
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Oh for sure. I think a local family dollar was selling copies of the first game, but I forget. Maybe they still have some. Probably should get a copy before it's too late. I thought I had a copy of the game, but I guess not. Anyway, I can see a lot of people picking up copies of the game now. If anything, maybe it'll result in more people playing the game again. -
Never tried muscle hustle, but I have heard of wrestling empire. I think it has a general manager mode, so I'll have to look into it. Actually, isn't that game available on PC and Switch as well? Might get it for PC as well. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

With the recent GTA Remastered Trilogy releasing by Grove Street Games (team responsible for the mobile games as well), made me remember that the Anniversary Edition of Bully came out on mobile in 2016 and it too was developed by Grove Street Games, at the time they were known as War Drum Studios. Anyway, my concern is that they will remaster Bully, but under the mobile version of the game like the GTA trilogy recently. Do you think we'll see a Bully remastered coming next? I could see it coming before RDR1 or GTA IV remastered, as I don't see those games being as easy to port to mobile. So maybe another studio will handle those remasters. But I am willing to bet that Bully will get a remaster and it'll be done by the mobile developers, and they'll just re-use the mobile version. What do you guys think though?

They are, but scalpers seem to know how to cheat the system. I worked at a call center a while back, and it was for this kids product that people really loved to collect around the holiday season. They would only allow 12 products per customer, but we found multiple people getting behind that, by simply using a nearby empty address and they'll either use a different card. I found someone who was able to buy hundreds of product, all while using the same address somehow. Our system didn't catch them. But, we caught him because the guy called in, saying his package was marked delivered, but wasn't there. I did the usual, search for the order and that's how I found it. These scalpers would buy the product, and put it on ebay and amazon for double, sometimes triple the price. I was told that the company would often go on to said sites and flag the products. But a lot of people got away with it sadly. But yeah, Amazon and Ebay have started to battle them a bit. I wish they would just only allow a set price for new consoles, because they shouldn't increase in price considering they are being mass produced. So if Ebay and Amazon had a system in place that would only allow you to go up to a certain price point, then I don't see this ending anytime soon. What I recommend you do, is sign up at any store like walmart, as they will notify you when a sale is happening and you'll get dibs over others. That's my best suggestion right now, because this feels like it'll continue for months to come.

Well it looks like Titanfall will be removed from digital marketplaces as Respawn is going to discontinue the sale of it completely as of today or yesterday. So this means you won't be able to purchase the game anywhere. It will be removed from Xbox and PC marketplaces. But the good news is, that the servers aren't being taken down, and anyone who already owns the game can still play it fine. My concern, is that if you can't buy it any longer, how long will the servers stay up for? Full story at the link below. https://www.windowscentral.com/respawn-discontinuing-sales-original-titanfall

What games provide the best commentary on our times?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I honestly don't know. If you're referring to commentary about politics, life and so on, then I think the only thing that comes close is war games. But I think most games generally throw in some kind of nod to what's happening in the world. Games like Life is Strange, and Tell me Why come to mind, because they kinda bring up things happening in our world. Movies and TV to the same, in that they tie some of reality into their programming. -
I just watched this video of VALVE games that have some cool attention to detail in their games. From barnacles digesting food and spitting it out in Half-Life, to seagulls pooping on your car in half life 2, and more. What are some other games you found to have great attention to detail?

Anyone hear of this one? It's a Space battle RTS game. I got a free code a while back and played a bit of it, and from what I played I had fun. I don't know if it's something I'd stick with for too long, but I think it's a fun game to play in short bursts. I played against some people and the games take forever, but I was able to win the game by just being patient. But then again, RTS games tend to take a while anyway. Is this something you'd be into playing? Trailer below for it.

I wouldn't say I have worked with games, but I have worked with communities that do stuff with game developers and people from the game industry. I've helped stream, helped streamers, helped with showcasing a new game to a community I volunteer to and so on. I may be working more with events soon with the community I volunteer for, so I will be working close with people we have streaming for us. Other than that, that would be it for me.

I don't play MMOs all that much. When I do happen to play them, I usually am with a few friends already. I don't play these type of games by myself, as I'm not one to go out and meet new people lol. Just my anxiety being annoying as usual. I'd give more MMOs a try if my friends would consider playing it too. It's why I play games like COD yet, because they will sometimes play that once in a while.
