I think it was a great move on their part. Some may be annoyed that they are going to focus more on microtransactions, which is always a thing in these types of games. As long as they aren't play to win, than I don't care. Anyway, for now, I think it was the right move. I know some people are fussing about the microtransactions and how it is to progress in game right now, as well as other gripes here and there, but for the most part, the game is hugely popular right now and people seem to be really into it. There's even a topic here on the forums about how the games single player has already gone gold, and I don't think that officially releases until December 8th.

What have the sales been like for recent COD releases? I feel like in the last 5-10 years, the sales have been dropping off with each new release. Honestly forgot Vanguard came out recently as I literally lost interest in it. I played a bit of Cold War, but haven't bothered much since. My brother and nephew play from time to time now days, but I just can't be bothered with the series anymore. Then again, most of my friends are living their lives so I don't know many others who even play COD anymore. I know COD is probably hated by most here, and rightfully so, it deserves the hate it often gets. But I still find some joy in the games when I play them, but it's much of the same. I've considered going back to some of the older games recently and just playing those again. But I would have to get my friends from back in the day back on, and that's easier said than done. Anyway, what do you guys think? Is COD running out of steam? Or will it forever appeal to the 12 year olds out there who keep this franchise alive to this day?

Technically it was more of a soft reboot of the original game as it treaded mostly the same story, but had some different locations and control upgrades. Fans were hoping for a an actual sequel, but that wasn't what they got unfortunately. I would love to see them revisit the game and give us an actual sequel, because now days, they could do so much more with this franchise. But, this is also EA we're talking about, and they don't seem to care much what fans care for anymore.

Not at all, in fact I kinda prefer it. I purchased a few of those Power A pro controllers that you can get on Amazon for like $80 or so, but the black one has been on sale for like $50 for a while now. They are wired controllers, but do the job just fine. I'm just tired of dealing with controllers that need batteries. Having wires isn't a problem for me, as I sit close anyway. Plus I mostly use the controller on my PC anyway.

What's the status of this? Any news on if EA is willing to pay that? $1 billion is a lot to ask for. Even for a company like EA. I'm sure they could afford it, but how much are they making in sales from Fifa and all it's microtransactions? Honestly though, I don't care what happens to EA. I rarely buy their games, and if I do play them, it's through something like game pass anyway. Sure it still support them somewhat by just buying gamepass, but I would rather no one support EA until they start to produce better quality sports games and doesn't abuse or push long hours on developers. That's all we ask from EA, is to let developers to do their work on the games they are wanting to release. Let them take as much time as needed so they can make the best game possible. Treat your employees right, don't force them to work long hours to get to an unrealistic release date. EA could benefit by supporting the developers who make their hit games. Let them make the games they want and not hold them to unreasonable release dates. And allow devs to delay their games if needed. But yeah, this isn't about that, I'm just going on a rant about EA at this point lol. Maybe it's time for Fifa to look for other developers/publishers to produce their games.

Looks like PlayStation Home is coming back with the help of fans. PlayStation Home ceased being a thing 6 years ago, and now it looks to be back. Of course this is only for the PlayStation 3. But that's to be expected. The PSOne Emulation team is also helping with the project. So I wonder if this will allow people using emulation to use Home. I never really bothered much with the PS Home. But I thought the concept was cool. I wish they supported it more and even on the future consoles. You can read more about this news below. https://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2021/11/26/playstation-home-revived-by-fans/?fbclid=IwAR2W87nzjLUPMN-aNJdNS9S17XtPt5AiqC1q3lOSZOCBpDA7mrRRXGHyw1Y

I've heard stories over the years about how people are finding new, or yet unknown easter eggs in old video games. I don't know anything off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are games that have undiscovered easter eggs. Do you know of any easter eggs only you are aware of? Or maybe you discovered an easter egg, and no one else has really ever shared it or posted video proof of it? I think it's cool to find easter eggs hidden in older games, especially if they are found later on. I imagine devs hide a ton of hidden stuff in their games, and some of it probably has yet to be found.

I'm on the lookout for some new Discord gaming bots to add to the discord server I'm helping with. We already have a pokemon style game on there. I was wondering if there are a bit more advanced discord gaming bots available? I don't know a whole lot on how the bots even work, but I know the person who runs the discord pretty much, and he's the one we go to for setting up bots. So I figured it'd be cool to get some suggestions for bots. Do you guys frequent any discord servers that have bots? If so, what bots are they? I know there are sites that have lists of bots, but I'd rather get suggestions than go digging in lists of bots. I think we're going to try trivia bots at some point, so if you know any good ones, that'd rock! Not quite sure what else we can really do in discord. What kinda gaming bots can you even put in there? I can't imagine you can do a ton with bots, but I don't really mess with discord other than to message people I work with and do meetings on rare occasions, and chat. Any bot suggestions? Trivia, gaming news, arcade games even?

Hey guys, I'm on the lookout for some free to play browser game suggestions. I am looking for just about anything free to play. But I am mostly looking for multiplayer games that can be enjoyed by a group of people. I'm currently volunteering for a community and their discord, and we're thinking of running events over there soon and we are in need of game suggestions that can get as many people involved as possible. We already decided on stuff like Jackbox (requires one person to own), among us (can be played free on mobile I believe), krunker, and a few other browser games. But I am all for more suggestions. Maybe something like cards against humanity, card games, board games etc. But it has to be legally free to play stuff. We found a cards against humanity browser game, but if there are any other card games online like that, I'd check that out as well. But also anything revolving around trivia, drawing (pictionary, drawful, etc), and more.

AEW is producing their own games, I believe with Yukes, as they split when 2K took over the WWE games, but I am not 100% sure. Either way, AEW has a game or two out already and another coming soon. Currently they have some pro wrestling management game on mobile devices, I haven't played it, but I hear it's okay. I'm not sure on the other mobile game, but I think they have two mobile games. I'm more interested in their actual AEW video game, much like what WWE has now with 2K, who is hard at work on WWE 2K22 themselves. I saw some preview videos on the new AEW games, and they're looking like a good start. A bit worried about the animations and graphics, but it looks early stages, so that's probably to be expected. I am going to imagine it will be attempting to do simulation style wrestling with this one, but idk, because the animations kinda look more cartoony, idk. Their last update can be viewed below. Oh and the trailer for their more popular mobile games. And they have a casino game that I won't waste your time showing.

Honestly, the recent Avengers game turned out to be a letdown for fans. I don't think the game has many people playing it anymore. They may have infused some life with the new Spider-Man DLC, but when that DLC is only for PlayStation, it's going to cut off a portion of your audience. I imagine the Xbox version isn't doing that hot these days. Is anyone playing this game right now? I know Spider-Man is bringing people in, because it's Spider-Man, but I don't see that keeping the game going for too much longer. But, I want to hear from people who are playing it right now. Is this game worth it? Or do you think it's time we re-evaluate the Avengers and make an actual game not tied into microtransactions. I want a game like what they're doing with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Do that with the Avengers, and I think fans will be happy with that. They seem happy with Guardians. I'm for them making a new Avengers game, what about you?

What would you guys say are your all time favorite gaming trailers? Ones that show gameplay, multi-player, cinematic, etc. For me there are a few that stand out. I was always excited seeing San Andreas tv spots growing up, that will forever be nostalgic to me. I don't even remember if they released an actual trailer back then. I'll list some of my favorites. Please do list some of your favorites. And keep in mind, a bad game can have a great trailer, so bad games are allowed if the trailer was good. Anyway, mine are: Just a depressing trailer. I thought we'd get a more serious game than what we got. But still, this trailer helped sell this game. Sadly I never finished the phantom pain, but the trailers for it were so good. Kojima infusing his taste in movies and music into his trailers. He should honestly direct a movie and just get it over with. He clearly wants to make movies, do it dude. This trailer was awesome, especially with the music. Sadly I played only a little bit of Revelations, as I got into it after III and one other of the newer games. Still though, this trailer with older Ezio was fun to see. I'll try to post more trailers when I can remember. Theres lots more than I like, but we'd he here all day. List your favorites as well. 🙂

I enjoyed the original Mirrors Edge, but didn't care much for the rebooted remake that followed. Do you think we could see a new Mirrors Edge sometime in the future? I'd certainly welcome it for sure, but they really need to start fresh I think. Or, they could give is a true sequel that continues the first game and just change controls up a bit to play more smoothly. What do you think?

I know I am. Especially after the disaster that was the recent GTA Trilogy remaster. I've been looking forward to a possible GTA IV remaster since that was announced. But, if they do a remaster, they really need to take their time with it. It was clear the team behind the remaster trilogy was rushed to meet a release date, as this game was clearly not ready for release. Just watch the many videos of problems on YouTube. Anyway, I think Rockstar will have to take it slow going forward with any remaster they do, because they will be criticized even more if they fail to make something playable.

I enjoy some sports games. I know most people kinda ignore them, but you can have a lot of fun playing with friends. I always come back back to the likes of ESPN NFL 2K5, because it stands as a much better game than most recent Madden Games. A $20 game from 2004, has better presentation, control, modes and more that a $60 game from 2021 doesn't even have. They don't even have refs in Madden anymore, old games had refs and they made it work just fine. It's because Madden doesn't innovate every year. It's the same game with some polish and just updated rosters. But I still sometimes check out Madden, even with the laundry list of problems it has, because it's the only football game on the market. Other than that, give me more games like SSX Tricky, NBA & NFL Street and more. I'll take those again. I miss those series. 😞

I don't think the pirates where the ones to kill it. Though I imagine it didn't help any either. It kinda came out at a bad time, with the PS1 and soon to be N64 on the market. Those kinda took over. Then they kinda dropped the Saturn altogether to focus on the dreamcast, which kinda came out too late for Sega to really compete. My dad got me a couple Sega Saturn used back in the early 2000s. One without the box and one with the box. Only paid $36 for all of it. I regret selling it off later though, but i still have the loose Saturn somewhere. The games on it were pretty decent. Played a ton of virtua cop with the light gun. Also had virtua fighter 2, which I thought was pretty cool at the time. Wish it lasted longer, because there was something good there. It survived in Japan a lot longer than it did in the states. So it wasn't a complete failure for Sega.

This may be a dumb question, but aren't these Dbrand plates similar to what those nyko fan attachments were to the 360 back in the day? Or any other third party attachment? Or is it that they didn't change the design enough to be their own? I was under the impression that you can make third party peripherals and other things as long as they aren't exactly the same as the original product. So why is Sony so hard pressed to stop these? I can understand if Sony wants to make their own plates, but why can't Dbrand make their own as well? I think when they started, it was too similar to Sonys design. But they changed it and Sony is still on them about it. Or am I completely missing something here?

WSJ Report Alleges Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick Hid Knowledge of Misconduct
Kane99 replied to PGen98's topic in Gaming News
Dudes never going to leave. Even with his name being thrown through the mud, he's still CEO as we speak. But it's good seeing actual investors and others who work for Blizzard and Activision starting to speak out against him. It's sad that he's still in there, when he knew about the problems and did pretty much nothing. If he does drop down, or gets fired, I'm sure he'd land some job elsewhere with his name not being announced. Dudes scum, and has to go. I wish more people voted with their wallets and didn't support either Activision or blizzard, because people will still support these companies either way. -
None that I can think of off the top of my head. At least in regard to games I have played this year. The only game I can think of being bad this year is the new GTA remastered trilogy. I haven't played through it yet, but have watched more than enough videos showcasing the problems a plenty. As for any others, I honestly didn't play too many horrible games this year so I can't judge personally on what other games this year turned out bad.

Saw these chairs previously while searching for a computer chair. Had then bookmarked for quite a while. I really dig the Spiderman chair as well as the Captain America one. But that Spiderman design is awesome. Wouldn't mind owning one of these chairs for sure. Not a huge fan of leather or pvc leather, but still would totally use.

Roblox went public today, $30 billion + on first day of trading
Kane99 posted a topic in Gaming News
Well I did not see this coming at all. Roblox seems to be crazy popular these days. They have officially gone public and have already amassed over $30 billion +. Last I heard it was over $45 billion. It's crazy! I never expected to see Roblox become a billion dollar company, not in a million years. You can read all about it here - CNBC -
Most shovelware games are just cheap, poorly produced games released either on a disc with a bunch of other bad shovelware games, or it's released as a standalone game. The Wii suffered with a ton of shovelware games, and I imagine most consoles and PC have a fair share of really awful shovelware games out there. But are there any that are actually good and worth the time to check out? I mostly assume not, but there's got to be some fun shovelware games out there.

I have an envelope full of demo discs from the PS1/PS2. I don't know why I keep them, as I don't think they're really worth anything yet. Most of them are PlayStation magazine demo discs. I remember getting them from a local grocery store and remember them costing a lot. Does anyone here still have a collection of demo discs? Maybe from the ps1, ps2, xbox, gamecube, etc. Pretty much any disc based demo. I think the last demos came out for the PS3 and 360, at least physically.

2020 was a good year for gaming, in fact it drew the gaming industry some of its biggest profits in years. With more people at home and out of a job, more people were gaming than usual. But, with the pandemic hopefully winding down here soon, do you think profits in the gaming industry will stay steady, go down, or even maybe go up? I think it'll stay steady and it'll be another great year for the gaming industry, but with the talk about $70 games, and new gen consoles still being hard to come by, it could be a lower year. What do you guys think?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge reveal trailer
Kane99 posted a topic in Gaming News
Hell yeah, a new TMNT beat-em-up. I will for sure be buying this when it releases. I'm so happy they went with the original art style. This is going to bring me back to the NES days of playing TMNT 2 the Arcade game.
