  1. I know not really gaming related, but it relates to Xbox, so I hope it's fine. The Xbox Series X Mini Fridge came out a while ago, and was scooped up by scalpers of course. The thing released for like $100 and all it is, is a 12 can mini fridge with an Xbox design. I also hear that the fridge was kinda loud for some. If it ever drops in price, maybe I'll get it for the novelty of it, but I am not spending anywhere near $100 for it, and with the scalpers pushing the price up, I will have to wait on it. Plus, I think you can get a bigger mini-fridge for around the same price as this, so really it's meant for Xbox Fans. Also, I guess it can fit a series X into it, so there's that. Honestly, I would have rather had this fridge instead:
  2. When it comes to gaming, we're either using a controller or a mouse and keyboard. I have gamed mostly on consoles for the majority of my life, but since I got my first gaming PC built, I haven't really looked back. Well, I still use controllers on PC. But I found I use keyboard more often than I used to and have been considering switching to mouse and keyboard more often. But, have you ever had a hard time going back to a controller once you use a mouse and keyboard exclusively for a while? I feel like I would never stop using controllers for some games, but I'm starting to realize that maybe some games are best with a mouse and keyboard. First person shooters are probably best with a mouse and keyboard, and I think I'm finally going to make that change. Anyway, if you ever go back to using a controller, do you ever find it hard going back to playing that way? Or do you usually get used to it again faily quickly?
  3. I know I talk a lot of crap about EA, but they are kinda deserving. I used to enjoy Madden, because it was at least a bearable football game when it wanted to be. But these days it's becoming a lazy mound of its former self. I honestly want a good football game, because I'm a fan of football. Is it too much to ask for a quality football game? EA has allowed their developers to drop the ball on production of Madden, and it shows with each new game. They just put a little bit of makeup on for each new release and call it a day. I just want to play a football game that works and plays like football. I know the NFL is aware of the hate their game gets. So why is it that they aren't listening to any of the feedback? I think I blame it on the gaming reviewers from big publications who are lazy and always give these maddens fair to good reviews. So maybe the NFL sees those and thinks they are fine. Because sure, they're making good money from this game. But imagine if these devs actually put the work into the games to improve upon them instead. What if they started showed 10/10 reviews because they actually worked on the game. EA isn't capable of changing because people still put money down for Madden yearly. But, what if EA was not the license holder anymore, and it was a free for all for who could take over developing/publishing rights? What studios could you see coming out on top? I could see 2K being an option, but that's one devil for another. Personally, I think the NFL should start their own development studio to make their own Madden. They could afford it easily, and it would mean all that cash from it would go to them. Of course this means no other studios can make it, but maybe having it under their own studio, would mean they would bring out the best product. What do you think?
  4. From the likes of WWF No Mercy, WWF Wrestlemania 2000, WCW Vs nWo World Tour, and WCW/nWo Revenge, I would love to see them remastered into one game. I know this will never happen sadly, because of licensing mostly (music, wrestlers, images, etc). But It would be a dream to see this series remastered into one set, re-utilizing the Aki engine to get the best of it all. And they could update the graphics if they want. But it doesn't have to be like new games today. I know that some fans are keeping this game alive with mods through emulation. And maybe I will look into that and give that a go, but I honestly just want to revisit these classics on modern hardware, so that it runs even better. And playing with friends again would be fun too. Anyway, maybe instead of a remaster, we could see a new game made with the Aki engine in mind. Like I said above, some modders are making new wrestlers and creating new arenas and more in some of these games. But, I think it would be great to see a brand new game instead, so that we can show new fans what these games were like. But yeah, I'll continue dreaming elsewhere. 😄
  5. I grew up in the 90s, and didn't get to experience freeware and shareware like people in the 80s and 90s did. I had a commodore 64 in the 90s, that had a bunch of games on floppy disks, some that were likely copied by the previous owner before we got the PC. I don't remember most of the games we had sadly, but I'm sure there was some freeware/shareware games in the mix. For those wondering what freeware and shareware was, shareware is essentially a game copy, which sometime included legal freeware and sometimes illegal copied games. Back then you could copy a game and send it off to your friend. I don't recall if there was much fight about it, but it happened. Often you'd see floppys with written labels stating what games are on it. Kinda like how VHS tapes were. That's how games got out there as well. Freeware was just free games, but I think some copyrighted games were released this way and it was legal somehow. I don't know. That's just a guess. I sadly tossed all the games I had for my C64 years ago, and regret it 100%, because I'm sure there would have been someone out there who could have used them. My C64 died eventually anyway, and I have no way of fixing it and honestly don't feel like buying another one for it to also die out. Plus, there are sites that legally list C64 and other games online to play for free. So having a C64 or older PC, isn't really a requirement anymore. Everything can be done with emulation these days. Anyway, I'm looking for some of the freeware and shareware games that released, but have since been forgotten. Ones that were good, but never saw the light of day. I want to play more classic PC games, especially on the C64, as want to see if I can find any of the games I played as a kid. Plus, I just want to experience all these games that came before me, as I know I only scratched the barrel of games I've played in my lifetime.
  6. Yeah true. I just hope to never see it in on consoles on even on PC. Keep it to mobile if anything. Because once it hits consoles, kids will find a way to abuse it somehow. There was this game I used to play to get prizes, but it wasn't worth it. You'd get some cheap priced thing from Amazon for completing challenges and stuff. Was a waste of time, kinda like lottery. 😄 And yeah, if they were to do gambling video games, they would have to require some kind of ID check to play. Only fair in my opinion. I couldn't see any games being passed without some kind of ID check for people who play.
  7. Also, one other thing I forgot to mention, was how easier retro games have become on modern consoles, especially the switch. I remember when my nephew was over with his Switch a while back, and he was playing SMB3 on it, and everytime he failed, he'd use the rewind feature to take him back. I told him we didn't have the choice back in the day on the NES. I thought it was cheating, or just lazy, and he didn't seem to care lol. But yeah, they're even making retro games easier with the use of emulation, so there's that.
  8. I figured most who have watched Squid Game would know what I was referring to, considering that there have been a ton of games made that were inspired by it already. Literally copying the green light red light scene from the show, as well as other games from the show. Here are some examples: Here's another for example that was made through Roblox (May have offensive language, watch at your own risk): And a list from IGN:
  9. I think it depends on the game. I think these days, I'm more used to regenerating health, probably because of games like COD. But I also enjoy games where you have to be extra careful and have to find health in the world or scavenge for it. But, I think it's more of a challenge with having to keep track of your health. For me, I don't mind either. But I like when regen health makes sense, like in games where it has a purpose. Maybe it's in a mech suit, or something along those lines. But if it's like COD, I think it becomes a bit lazy. But, they have changed it up recently where you can use medkits I think.
  10. I didn't see a topic for this one yet, and the game seems to have been a thing for a little over 3 years now, but according to steam it just dropped November 4th. I saw a recent stream of it from OneyPlays and I honestly was sold on it. I thought it was cool that you could customize every single inmate, and edit their names, looks and more and you can also create up to three gangs to have inmates be a part of. Sadly, it doesn't look like it has multiplayer, but maybe that will be added in a future update.
  11. Does anyone feel like video games are becoming too casual and or easy? I'm all for easier games coming out, as I am one to just play for the story and gameplay. But I don't want to see games made too easy to appease us either. Ya know what I mean? Just give me an easy mode for a tough game, and I'll be happy. Anyway, what are your thoughts on this? Are we seeing less and less easier or casual games? Or is it about the same?
  12. And for a whopping $1.6 million. The lawsuit in regards to a YouTuber that goes by the name of Ruben Sim, who they say he created a "cybermob" and has posted terroristic threats. Even going as far to make fun of the YouTube headquarters shooting that happened back in 2018. His threats have even shut down the Roblox Developers Conference this recent October. You can read more about this news here - https://hypebeast.com/2021/11/roblox-sues-youtuber-ruben-sim-terrorizing-platform-1-6-million-damages I'm not a big Roblox guy, but I know this game is played my a ton of kids, so probably for the best this guy is nowhere near it anymore.
  13. I've been playing fortnite more as of late and I was getting into the death runs people make. A lot of them are fun, but the ones I run into tend to be trolley levels. Do you guys have any suggestions for death runs to try out? I think you can make a code to share your creations. I want to make my own, but I don't know if I have the patience for making them. So, if you guys have any suggestions for death runs to play, please do list the codes for them in here. A friend of mine made one recently, and I don't know if he made it public yet, but when he does, I'll see if he's cool with me posting it here.
  14. I remember seeing many clips on YouTube of people playing certain songs with the guitar playing option in The Last of Us Part II. Has anyone here been able to make their own works through it? Or maybe did some covers of popular songs? Here's an article about the making of this mechanic: https://blog.playstation.com/2021/11/26/fine-tuning-the-last-of-us-part-iis-interactive-guitar/ Thought that was a fun read. And here are some songs played through TLOU2 guitar mechanic.
  15. Well first off, we need to make it a reality where everyone can actually afford VR headsets to take advantage of all of this. To my knowledge, Meta will be a virtual hub or something where everyone will go. Honestly I like the idea, but then again, it's Facebook so yeah. Not a fan really. But, it's bound to happen either way. Whether it be Facebook and Meta that does it, or some other company making waves in virtual reality. We're going to see some virtual hub like system by someone. But in the long run of it, they need to make VR more affordable, otherwise it'll be a small group of hobbyists using it mostly. At least in my opinion. Then again, VR seems to be going down in price at least. So maybe it's sooner than we thought. I think some people will find comfort in something like this honestly, but I don't know if everyone will use it.
  16. I used to game with my mom and sister when I was a kid. These days they don't really game all that much, which kinda sucks, but now my nephew has become a gamer, so I often game with him on Fortnite and some COD games. But other than that, most of my family doesn't bother much with gaming.
  17. And before anyone says that we already have it, yes I know. Microtransactions and loot boxes have pretty much been our version of gambling in games. But, with the recent news of sports betting blowing up as of late, it got me thinking that video games could be the next one to offer some sort of real gambling. I hope it never happens honestly, because the whole idea is dumb. If it were to happen, they wouldn't be able to let any of these games go to kids and they'd for sure have to find a method of making sure those playing are actual legal adults. But, do you think there's a possibility this can happen in future video games? Or maybe we'll start to see games released with gambling options. What do you guys think? Could this be a real possibility? Also, I'm not referring to gambling on video games themselves, as in betting on a game between people. I'm referring to actual gambling options built into the games themselves, where you can win money playing the game. Sorry in advance if this has caused any confusion.
  18. I know speedrunning is a popular thing on twitch and YouTube, and a lot of the big time speedrunners tend to break the game on purpose to get through the game faster. Has anyone sat through these speedruns? Have you ever attempted a speedrun? Has anyone here ever achieved the fastest time in a speedrun like this? I've wanted to try a speedrun where the purpose is to break the game to get ahead. But I doubt I have the skills to do it. Do you know any popular speedrunners as well?
  19. Game Jams, are those events where people make quick games in a short period of time, and whoever makes the better overall game, will win an award or bragging rights, idk. Anyway, are there any Game Jam games that turned out to be a hit? And are there any that turned into bigger and better games later on?

    12 Minutes

Has anyone here played this game? I see it's currently on game pass, and I saw some short gameplay videos of it in action. It looked fairly decent, but I have yet to play it. From what I heard, you have 12 minutes to solve why a cop comes to your house to arrest your wife, and if you die, you repeat the same day over and over until you figure out what the mystery is all about. I'm surprised no one posted about it here, I heard it was a good game. It also stars Willem Dafoe, Daisy Ridley and James McAvoy. Here's the trailer as a refresher in case anyone forgot.
  21. The Netflix show Squid Game was a massive hit, it helped inspire many to make copy-cat games based on the show in video game form. A lot of them look awful and probably play bad, but there was a few of them that looked playable at least. Are there any good squid game video games out there? As well, maybe other games inspired by it or other games similar to it? I'm open to suggestions. 😄
  22. So far what Netflix seems to offer, are mobile games you can get on google play and apple play store. But so far I haven't heard any plans to make console games or PC games, but will Netflix eventually support bigger and better games for those devices? I just hope they don't focus their attention on just mobile games or small time games. Give us something as big as your big shows. If they can make that happen, they would add a ton to their service. Do you think we'll see Netflix shows/movies getting their own games as well? I believe Stranger Things will get a game, but they already have games on pc and consoles already for it. What other series and movies do you want to see get a Netflix game?

    Unpacking

I highly recommend playing it. I found it really relaxing. Essentially all you do is put away things. But as each level progresses you go through years of life. Moving into your childhood bedroom, dorm room, back home, a new house, having a kid, etc. It may be a kid friendly game, but adults would for sure get into playing this too. You start from I think like 1996, and go until like 2014. I forget, but you get the point. As you get to newer levels, you're responsible for unpacking each room, setting it up, etc. That's it. But you have to put things in there correct location, but it mostly gives you freedom to put things where you want. It's a short game, but I played it twice. Second time was to get all the achievements, but each time was relaxing. And I may replay it again one of these days. Calling it just a kids game is doing it a disservice in my opinion though, because there seems to be a story about love, loss and growth at the core of this game, and you see it played out through the stuff you unpack. It's fun seeing the time differences, setting up an old win 95 like PC, seeing its pixelated desktop as it starts up. It's the little things. Honestly give it a solid playthrough, I think you guys would really enjoy it.
  24. Sonic Forces was a game I wanted to actually get, but after seeing the reviews and videos about the game, I realized it wasn't for me. Check the video above about the making of the game and how it came to be and basically what happened to cause the game to fail. Do you think the sonic team can rebound from this? Will we finally get a good Sonic game again?
  25. This right here, couldn't have said it better myself. Pre orders usually don't give you a whole lot otherwise, maybe some dlc and other stuff, so it's nice to see some giving people early access for pre-ordering. I don't care much for pre-ordering myself, but for those that want it early, I think it's a great deal for them. I think it's better than having a beta honestly. Give me the game early if you want my money now.
