Is it just me, or is MGS5 a lot harder than other MGS games?
Kane99 replied to Shagger's topic in Video Games
I couldn't get into the newest MGS. I think the open world change kind of put me off, as previous games were mostly linear story driven games. I played it for a while, but just couldn't push myself to get back to it. As well, I felt like the controls were kind of clunky at times. Snake just didn't feel fun to control for me either. idk what it was. -
Oh yeah, you can essentially build a cabinet with just a raspberry pi device. Many people have done it. Some will even use a arcade kit that includes the arcade cabinet, controller, etc. You can get risers that increase its height. Otherwise it's best set up on a table or desk. The risers are kind of pricey though, but you could probably build your own riser too.

I don't think a VPN would get you access though. Because if your school is on a private network for example, a site will stay blocked no matter what IP you use. You'll still be on the schools network/wifi, and any sites blocked via that network will still be blocked. For sites like Netflix it works, because it's not connected within your own network. Changing your IP makes it look like you're in a different area. Unless your school's internet service is different. But I'm pretty sure a VPN won't get you access to blocked sites on a network. Unless I'm wrong, if so, please do correct me.

I imagine they do have some raspberry pi devices and parts for sale on there. I imagine they also sell the kits for cases and such. I wouldn't buy any of the raspberry pi devices, but maybe cases and such would be fine to purchase.

You make a good point. Since it doesn't require physical ability, anyone can do it. I've seen kids who play some games better than most. I feel like they would have started an all women league at some point. Kind of surprised it hasn't happened yet. Women haven't had it easy in the gaming world, so I could see them trying to get their own thing going away from men. But I'm all for men and women competing against each other.

Two Silent Hill games are rumoured to be in development...
Kane99 replied to Knight Plug's topic in Gaming News
Yeah, I heard Konami is interested in getting other studios to produce Silent Hill, and other Konami properties. There's a topic about this here on the forums - Konami Games losses are so bad that they're open to other studios making MGS, Silent Hill Etc. Games Oh yeah. I don't think he even had anything to do with Team Silent. Kojima didn't get involved until PT came around if I remember correctly. I think there was a time where they had him help with something, but I might be wrong on that. But yeah, Kojima would be awesome for a Silent Hill game, but I don't see it happening. -
Yeah, it's a limited group of games and products that they're no longer producing after March 31st. They won't even be up on the eshop anymore. They announced last year when they came out with the products/games that they were cutting it off on that date, and it seems they're still planning on doing that. I think people were hoping Nintendo would see that fans wanted these games and products, but maybe it wasn't enough. It just feels like they're going to give scalpers more options. Just wait, that Mario Game & Watch is going to blow up in price because of this. It's like Nintendo never learns.

I could have sworn they made a VR version, but I guess I was wrong. Well, here's hoping they do one of these days. Horror games are a given for sure. I think most should lol. It would heighten the scare factor by a lot I imagine. Dying Light would be cool. Not sure about Call of Duty though, as I imagine it would be kind of tough in VR. Moreso towards the motion of the game, as it's more fast paced and I don't see that being a good fit with VR. Yeah, I feel VR has its limitations, and something like COD for example would be a bit tough to play in VR. I think slower paced experiences are better for VR. But then again, I've yet to try a VR headset myself, so I can't full on judge it yet.

Here's hoping the game turns out to be good. I remember hearing Star Trek Online was pretty bad, but I think it was one of their first works if I remember correctly. But I could be wrong on that. Anyway, I'm interested in seeing how this one turns out. Just hope it's not a repeat of that Colonial Marines game lol.

I hope it turns out to be a good move for them. With more funding behind them, I hope they produce something great after Fall Guys. I don't see Fall Guys being that popular for much longer. But maybe they have something new in store for us soon.

What are your thoughts on the game Valheim? I've been seeing it everywhere lately and I was curious to know if it's something worth getting into? I saw a friend of mine play it, and it looks like a lot of fun, but I'm still not sold on it yet. It's currently $20 on early access. I might wait a bit before getting it, but I think I may eventually. Trailer below.

If you've ever played GTA V, you know the game is a massive slog to load the game world up, and even more so when it comes to booting up the online mode. Why is it that it takes so long for GTA V to load? The reason it takes so long to load, is due to the amount of products you can buy in game. As each item has a unique number associated with it. Here's exactly why it loads so slowly: From GTA Boom So essentially, he stopped it from starting the list over each time, and instead move it to the next in the list as it probably should. He was able to get it down from a 6 min + load time to just a bit over a minute. He informed Rockstar and forwarded the details to them. So it's now up to them to implement their own patch. You can choose to use the patch yourself, but do so at your own risk.

Well I didn't see this coming, but I guess it makes sense. Epic Games has purchased up Fall Guys dev team Mediatonic. The good news though, is that Fall Guys is still coming to the Nintendo Switch as planned. But no news on whether future content from Mediatonic would be on other consoles. But, I could see it happening considering their top game is Fortnite and that's on literally everything these days. Source - Nintendo Link

Source - PlayStation Blog Kind of bad news, the PlayStation Store is removing the options to buy and rent movies and tv shows. It's probably due to the many streaming platforms out there already and other places where you can buy/rent movies/tv shows. I know Xbox sells/rents out movies and tv shows, but I don't think they would drop it. This way their focus is on games too, which I think is better. We have more than enough options for our movies and tv needs. And any media you did buy on the PS4/PS5 up until August 31st 2021 will still be accessible in your account.

Looks like we're getting another Aliens game, and this time it's in the style of Left 4 Dead, but has 3 player co-op instead. I wish these games allowed for co-op from 2-4 players, but I'll take 3 I suppose. Anyway, check the trailer out below and share your thoughts.

Ugh, Nintendo, please don't. Remember when they said that some of their games and products will only be available up until March 31st, well they're taking that very seriously and are still planning to take the products off the market. What products am I speaking of. They are below. You can read more about it here - Nintendo Life Do you think they will keep producing these products? I really wanted that game and watch handheld, but I don't feel like shelling out $50, and now if they stop making them, it's only going to go up in price. 😞

What are your thoughts or opinions about games playing ads in game? Or maybe putting up ads in the game world even? I don't much mind a static ad in a world that can be passed by, but if it's an ad in a menu it's kind of annoying, but if it forces a timed ad on you, that's a no no imo. I would understand if it's a free to play game, but if it's anything that you already paid for, you should never be stuck waiting behind an ad. What do you guys think? I wouldn't mind if the ad was creative and out of the way, or isn't forced down your throat.

As I'm sure you know, WWE 2K21 didn't happen, it was cancelled before it even started. After the disaster that was WWE 2K20, 2K games took a break on the franchise and I believe they hired another team to tackle it for them. I got 2K20 for like $10 on a steam sale, and it's still pretty bugged. Instead of 2K21 this year, we got WWE Battlegrounds, a mediocre fighting game. And I have no clue what 2K Game's plans are for the next WWE wrestling game. I hope they make a quality wrestling game in 2022 or 2023 or whenever they get back to it. I want good wrestling games again. 😞 I'm waiting for the AEW game now, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

I know there are many female teams playing esports, but are there any leagues just for women? I imagine by now there would be some kind of woman only league. And I'd love to see that. All I ever hear about are the male esports players, with an occasional mention of women players here and there. I'd like to hear more about the female esports players out there. I'm not familiar with most esports stars out there, but who would you say is the best female pro gamer out there in the esports world today?

Do you know of the Madden Curse? It was this urban legend, that whoever was on the cover of the new Madden that year, would either get injured and be out the rest of the year, or they would suffer a poor performance throughout the whole season. Many players who landed on the cover did get injured after, but there were many other players who faced no issues. It was just random. But of course, when you're playing a contact sport like Football, you can get injured. Teams are plagued with injuries each year. It's sadly part of the game. I just think it was random chance that it went that way. Anyway, did you ever believe in the Madden Curse? I never believed it, but it is crazy how so many players got injured after being on the cover. I think the last 5 years or so, most of the players were unschathed. What did you think of the Madden Curse?

I mean, it would add a lot to Xbox Ultimate, especially if it's included at no additional cost. It would be kind of a win win. But, I don't see something like that happening. If they do try it, they'd add tiers where you'd pay more to get movies and tv or something like that.

Did the PS2 even support drives that size? I always thought it was a small drive that would only work, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, it seems a lot has been coming out about Google and their blunders with Stadia. Because it's clear they have no clue what they're doing anymore. I am honestly surprised Stadia has lasted this long.

That's awesome! I've been wanting to get a pac-man or Donkey Kong cabinet, original, but I could only imagine how much something like that would cost. And yeah, I have a feeling that's how it'll go. I don't see arcades opening up anytime soon with 1up machines. I think you even need to buy a riser for the 1up cabinets, because they are meant to sit on a table. So they happen to be pretty short compared to original cabinets. I barely have space too. I could possibly fit one in my home, but that is probably it. Then again, I probably have some stuff I can get rid of to make room if I need to. 🙂

Not much at the moment, but once you sign up, you're given access to all the games they have to play. But, I believe it reverts to a monthly fee once you are officially signed up. As for if it's better, I can't say, I haven't tried either yet. I still need accept my early access request yet. Don't feel like doing it in case my ISP caps me if I play too much, so I've been paranoid about that. Yeah it may take a bit. Some people aren't accepted. I think if you have a history on Amazon, they will accept you a lot faster, but I could be wrong on that.
