Have you ever had to purchase a game multiple times?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I got a couple copies of MGS1 from a trading site in the past. I got the original edition, but just the discs and I have the greatest hits edition that I think has everything. Can't believe I forgot about that one. -
Oh yeah, I remember that was their initial plan. Sucks that they weren't able to figure out how to make it work. But oh well. I think they tried a similar approach to the Shaolin Monks game if I'm not mistaken?

Assassin's Creed III's final boss was a joke. Spoiler below. When you finally deal with your father at the end of the game, it's a lazy chase mission in a burning building if I remember correctly. And once you catch up to him, you get a cutscene and then the end of the game. So you don't get to take him out from what I remember. I think you leave him there to die or something

Have you ever had to purchase a game multiple times? As in maybe you had to buy a second copy because the first copy broke, or you lost your first copy and had to buy a replacement. Maybe you sold it, and decided to buy another copy of the game later on. I've done this a few times before. COD 4 I had to replace once, because the original disc started to crack (I played it a lot) and had to get another copy. One of my copies of splinter cell I had went bad as well and I had to get that replaced. But for the most part, I haven't had to replace many games. What about you though?

Hey guys, do you know of any new consoles made to play retro carts? I'm aware of Analogue, who has produced other consoles for retro games, but I think their consoles are expensive. I also know of the RetroN brand of consoles. In fact, I got my sister and brother-in-law a RetroN 2 I think it was, as it had SNES and NES games as options I think. I think the RetroN 5 is the one to go for, as it plays NES, SNES, genesis, Gameboy, etc. What are some other consoles made today that play retro carts?

Have you ever tried to build a PC by buying PC parts through Wish? I've seen countless videos on YouTube about people trying exactly that. Some with good results, some with bad, but for the most part it seems like it's possible. Anyway, would you ever build a PC through wish or maybe aliexpress or other similar sites? Here's a video of Linus trying to build a PC from Wish. He also has videos from buying parts from Ebay, Amazon and other sites to build PCs. It's weird, Amazon is full of junk that you could get on Wish as well.

I hope this is like the Hot Wheels game I remember back on the N64 I think it was. The trailer doesn't show a whole lot, but from the looks of it, it will take place on hot wheels tracks in real life like environments. So that should be fun. I just hope we can do the occasional flip and spin. I just hope it turns out to be good, because I wouldn't mind a good Hot Wheels game again.

Has anyone here heard of this game yet? I think it was announced during Nintendo's recent showing during Nintendo Direct. Anyway, it's essentially a dodgeball game, battle royale of sorts. All I know, is that it looks like it will be a lot of fun to play. You can check out the trailer below. It will also have crossplay and looks to be dropping on pretty much every platform too. 🙂

Games that were worth it but not at full price?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Sure. I had that feeling with the Just Cause games. I started with 2, and played all the way through the series, but I never paid full price on any of them. I usually got them from Xbox live or during sales. I never felt like the games were worth $60. Mainly because they didn't do a whole lot to change the formula for each new game. -
That's a tough one, since I know that a lot of japanese games are what we would call classics today. Like Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Sonic The Hedgehog, etc. So there's a lot from Japan that we have gotten to enjoy. For retro and classic games, I would say Japan. But for current stuff, there are a lot of games out there, produced all over the world, so it's really hard to say western or eastern, because the gaming industry is a mixing pot of people with different religions, ideas and so on. I think all sides make quality games, so I don't think I can really pick one or the other.

Would an Obsidian Fallout game today be as good as New Vegas was?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
I mean, it could be. I'm sure there are still some team members there, as they also did the Outer Worlds game, which was heavily inspired by Fallout New Vegas, it was essentially their new Fallout. So their skills and ideas are still there. Now that MS owns both Obsidian and Bethesda, they could probably team up for a new Fallout game even. -
Does anyone actually have a next gen console yet?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Nope, but that's ok, as I haven't attempted to buy either new console yet. I tend to wait a year or more before I purchase a new console, as well I'm by no means flush with cash, so it's easier said than done. But soon I hope. I'm in no rush. -
Have you ever quit a game after investing dozens of hours?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Sure, there has been a few games where I gave up close to the middle, and sometimes even near the end. One game that comes to mind is the sims 3. I played it for hours and then just stopped. I always told myself I'd come back to it, but never did. Currently I'm having that with Cyberpunk 2077, as I haven't played it in a couple weeks now and still have a ways to go. Red Faction Guerilla was another game I played nearly until completion and then I stopped. That I have an excuse for, as I rented it one time and never ended up getting the game again to beat it. But yeah, I've invested in a lot of games and I end up quitting some of them. Shadow of the Colossus is another game I nearly completed but dropped it one day and never revisited it. Well I did about 5 years or so ago, but ended up dropping it again lol. -
Source - MSN Even with all the scalpers cutting into their profits, Sony still amassed $2.6 billion in profits from PS5 sales. Das a pretty heft number, and will continue to go up for sure. Once these scalpers are cut from the equation, I can see Sony making a hell of a lot more.

What are some fitness based games that are actually kind of fun? I just want something that can provide a workout, but also be fun to do. I was thinking about the Just Dance series, but I'm not a fan of flailing around trying to match moves. Do you guys know of any fitness/workout games that can be fun to do?

It seems Microsoft isn't done messing with the dashboard, as they may be releasing a new dashboard update soon. There is rumors that MS want to do a design overhaul for Windows 10, which means they might eventually do the same for Xbox's side. Xbox Infinity thinks that this will result in the Xbox getting yet another dashboard update. I just hope it's not too much of a change, because I'm used to how it is now. Tired of them always changing things around.

Esports is getting huge, and likely will get even bigger in the coming years. But do you think it'll surpass actual sporting events? I am already seeing packed arenas when it came to past sporting events, and I think once covid goes away, we'll end up seeing packed venues again. But, could it one day overtake sports? I believe it's possible, but I'm not sure.

Another game that comes to mind, that is somewhat similar to Minecraft, is Rust. In that game, you need to build stuff, eat food, drink water, deal with other players and so on. I haven't played it, but have watched people play it, and it looks like fun, but also looks like it'd make me angry to play lol.

Oh, didn't even know. Thanks for letting me know. 🙂 I hope not, I would love to get my hands on the Spider-Man games at the very least. 😄 Not yet, but it's one I am hoping Sony releases on PC.

I'm more concerned why there hasn't been a Dead Island 2 yet. I remember when that was announced and it's taken longer than Dying Light 2. But, I think we can safely say Dead Island 2 is probably done for, and I can see Dying Light 2 making it out eventually. And yeah, I blame covid on a lot of things, and this probably added to the long wait.

How modded was it? I'm curious to know if it was any good. I mean, if it's still SA, but a modded version, I could see it being something interesting to check out. Sometimes they get creative with bootlegs.

You are correct, but they're still supporting the releases of 3rd party titles. They are rumored to have 100+ games coming from 3rd party devs/studios. This article will explain that they're focussing on 3rd party partnerships - https://gamecrate.com/stadia-shuts-down-development-studio-focuses-3rd-party-partnerships/26528 And this article mentions the 100+ games coming to Stadia yet - https://cogconnected.com/2021/02/100-games-google-stadia-year/ So Stadia is not yet done for, they're just not producing their own games for the platform, instead, they're looking for studios to produce games for them. I wouldn't doubt Google buys up a couple studios to make it easier on themselves.

Have you ever mistakenly purchased a bootleg version of a game? I know cart based games were copied and made into bootlegs a lot, and some were pretty close to the real thing. I can't say I've ever purchased a bootleg game. I'm pretty cautious about the games I buy. But I've seen some bootlegs and fake copies.

There is going to be some PlayStation exclusives coming out for PC soon, starting with Days Gone. I'm sure you've all heard about this, but there are rumors that many other games will be coming. I just hope the Spider-Man games and God Of War are released, because I will jump at those. It looks like those games will be dropping on Steam, as you can currently check out Days Gone on steam here - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1259420/Days_Gone/ thought it's not yet available for pre-order. So with that being said, what PS exclusives would you like to see drop on PC? I think Death Stranding was among the list of possibilities. I wouldn't mind God of War of course, but I would even welcome PS3 and PS2 games. What games would you like to see pop up on PC?
