This may be old news for some, but it seems that Activision is being sued by a couple people for their likenesses being used in characters from Modern Warfare. A photographer is suing Activision for using her likeness for the character Mara, and it's pretty close, but I don't know if the woman has a case in regards to it, as they could have taken inspiration, but I don't think she has a claim to soldier woman. But who knows. Check that story out here - https://www.dbltap.com/posts/photographer-sues-activision-over-allegedly-copied-call-of-duty-character-01expyct3f7a But, that's not all, as the pro wrestler Booker T is suing Activision for the same game, this time for the likeness of David ‘Prophet’ Wilkes who strikes a similar look to Booker T's gimmick of G.I. Bro from back in the 2000s. Anyway, it's very similar and it seems he has a case, as it's going to court. You can read about that news here - https://www.ringsidenews.com/2021/02/06/booker-ts-lawsuit-with-activision-over-call-of-duty-is-going-to-court/ Do you think either has a case? Will Activision be forced to pay up?

When did you realize that video games were important to you? I have played games my whole life, and I feel that they became important to me around my middle school years. It's when I wanted to become a game tester and then quickly changed my mind. But it's more than that. Gaming is my escape from reality. But it can also be a way to spend time with family and friends. But, when did you first realize that gaming was an important part of your life? Where it became apparent that you would never stop gaming? For me, I think that time came with SMB3, and then again with the likes of Vice City, Call of Duty 4 and so on. What about you?

There's been a lot of esporting events over the years, but what event paid out the most to the top winner(s)? I know some events have prices of thousands, some to the hundreds of thousands, and even one or two for millions of dollars. I'm not pro enough for that. But that's besides the point, because this topic is about the most won. Who won the biggest payout so far in esports history?

I just read this article titled - Disney Properties That Would Make Good Video Games from Screen Rant about how Disney has so many properties that they could make into games if they ever wanted to. From Marvel, Star Wars, and of course their Disney programming. Plus Fox is in there too. Out of that bunch, what do you want to see them do next in game form? Obviously some more Star Wars, but please, not from EA or even Ubisoft. I wouldn't mind another Punisher game. I was going to say Venom, but that's owned by Sony unfortunately. What do you guys think? What characters/shows/movies, etc from Disney's catalog, should get their own game?

Do you guys know of any PC Museums worth checking out? I have a fasination with old PCs, and watch a lot of LGR and other type of retro tech shows. I just like learning about the stuff. Anyway, I imagine there are a good deal of PC museums out there. Do you guys know of any that you may have visited? I think it'd be cool to start my own museum, and just have a bunch of old working PCs on display and ready to use. I can see a lot of tech enthusiasts trying that.

Lol, this is kind of a random one, but I'm sure there are a fair share of games made for stoners, or pot heads out there. People who enjoy cannabis for example. Anyway, I remember the first game I saw that ever featured cannabis. It was back when I was a teen and was babysitting a neighbors kid, they allowed me to play on their PC while I babysat, and I remember finding their facebook up with a game where you could grow weed. With that being said, are there any cannabis themed games that you can actually buy out there? Are there any that are actually fun? I never played anything relating to pot, but there's got to be some random games out there that have some mentions of it or is the focus of the game. I can't imagine it being a lot though, but there's got to be some games out there worth checking out. What do you guys think?

Yeah, Linux is becoming an option for gamers. And, for those games not yet supported, people have found workarounds that can get them to work. I forget the site, but there is a site that makes it possible to play some non-linux supported games. And of course, you can try wine or playOnLinux. I mostly game on Windows, but Linux is becoming more and more of a viable option.

The prototype 2 game I think it was. Actually I think I 100% the first and second. Not hard games to 100% though, so nothing special. As for others, I'm drawing a blank. I think I got 100% in the Turing Test, and a few other games, but I don't remember which ones they were.

Depends on the game and mission. Sometimes a time mission is no issue to me. But, there has been times where a time mission is just too much for me to handle. I hate when a timer is so strict, and barely gives you enough time. Like with the Driver games, I didn't mind them, because the driving was fun and intense with the challenge. Sadly I think it's also why I can't stand timers in games anymore, because I did hate it for a while in Driver.

The thing with steam sales, is that we often buy stuff on the cheap thinking we'll play it, but in reality we never do. I love humble bundles for the reason of finding a hidden gem, but oftentimes, I don't really play many of the games they include. Some I just give away and some I redeem to never play. But, there's always a chance I may want something new, and will go back to my steam library or any library of games I have, and pick something I haven't played yet.

You're better off just getting a used 360 than getting it repaired. I see them all over facebook and shop sites for really cheap. If you had the original 360, maybe it's time to upgrade to the slim model.

Do you prefer games where the player character is voiced or not?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Depends on the story. If there's no story, a voiced character doesn't really matter to me. But, if it's a big story, I want my protagonist to have some personality and speak. -
Has anyone here heard of this game? I've been seeing it on ads lately all over facebook, and I am genuinely interested in checking it out. From what I see, it looks like a FPS with stuffed animals. Kind of cute and fun. I couldn't find a trailer for it, but you can check it out on steam below. The demo is available for download, I might try it out tonight. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1243200/STUFFED/

What are some of the best games with character creators and or customization? I always like the WWE games for their customization, you could pretty much do about anything. I wish more games had more freedom in making your characters. For me, it's that most games with customization don't allow you to do much with weight, beards, or I shall say, don't give you enough options. And then these new games come out with barely any customization because they expect us to buy it all eventually with micro-transactions. Anyway, what would you say is the game with the best character creator/customization tools?

Do you think the next Silent Hill games will be good?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
In a now removed video interview with Akira Yamaoka (past composer for the Silent Hill series), he mentioned he was working on something that will be announced in the summer, and that it's something people are looking forward to. Many speculate that it could be a new Silent Hill from Konami. What do you think they'll have planned for the new game if that's so? You can also read about this here - VG247 -
Reproductions are a big thing in the gaming community. You've probably seen Ebay listings and other sites that sell reproduction carts, labels, manuals and boxes. There are some who label "reproduction" on what they reproduce, but there are some who don't include that distinction and they try to pass it off as real. Do you worry that with more and more reproductions being on the market, that it will cause confusion among collectors? I know most pro collectors know the difference, but there are people who may be just getting into retro collecting and they may end up spending too much on a fake game. I'm all for reproduction boxes, manuals, labels, etc, but as long as it clearly states as such. Because maybe you have a cart where the label is non-existant, and a repro label in that case would be fine, but only if it states as such. Because what would stop someone from slapping a label on any cart and saying it's Little Samson or something. That sort of thing happens often I imagine. But yeah, what are your thoughts on this?

It really depends. Some games I want to hear peoples opinions before I decide to buy it, but if it's a game I know I will enjoy, I don't particularly care to read the reviews. These days, reviews just shill to the big triple A studios anyway so It's kind of hard to listen to some reviews.

Cyclists Are Now Cheating In Video Games As Well As Real Life
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I'm sure there are other options out there like Zwift that are cheaper. I'd do a google search just in case. Yeah I can see it being very pricey, especially having to get a bike to utilize it. And yeah, workout bikes are pretty cheap these days. Really good ones can get high in price though. I can see fitness being a big one too, but yeah, cyclists would probably be first to purchase a device/service like this. -
Yeah, for $1000, you could probably buy a decent laptop to run games. This thing is going to boil in your hands if you play intensive games. Only people I see buying it, are people who want something like this for gaming. Hell, I bet you could buy one of those cheap custom handhelds to get your fix of retro games, as I can see this thing being great for retro games.

Nice! I dig me some Starbomb! 🙂 I grew up with the second game myself. I can see it being kind of forgotten, as it wasn't the greatest series by any means. I just have nostalgia for it.

What Games Will You Never Delete From Your Console?
Kane99 replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Gaming Forum
On my 360, there are a few games I would never delete. Not really a game, but the Hitman Sniper Challenge demo was pretty cool, and I never removed that. My 360 I think has a 250 gb hdd. So I have a lot saved on there. As for my Xbox One, I don't really save a whole lot on there. If I need room, I will remove something. You can always re-download a game you previously purchased so it's no biggie to me. -
I have some really old floppy disks that I would like to check. I think some of them have photos of family from back in the early 2000s. My sister had one of those video cameras that took floppies and she had floppies for days in a box. We kids used it a lot back then. Could you buy USB floppy drives? I would like to be able to port these images over to a new PC, as my old PC no longer works and I don't have any other ways at the moment to recover it. I have no intentions of installing a floppy drive in my PC, I don't even know if I can lol. But I'm sure there are USB drives for floppies. But, what about the really old floppy disks? the ones for like a commodore or something. Is there any USB devices that would let me view the files on them? I imagine with those it'll be a bit tougher.

Ah Paperboy. I remember loving Paperboy 2 as a kid. I remember getting frustrated with the game back then, and never beat it. I still don't think I ever beat it. Then again I don't think I played it in the last 20 years. Remember the Paperboy 64 game? I remember renting it with an N64 back in the 90s and I remember playing it a bit. I don't remember if it was any good though.

In other news I didn't see coming. I guess cyclists are playing a popular game called Zwift, which allows gamers to use an actual exercise bike to play the game. Essentially you control the speed based on how fast you're going on your bike. It's pretty cool. I would totally get it if it's not too expensive. Anyway, that's beside the point. There are cyclists who are finding ways of cheating in game, and it sounds like they're playing other players too. One person edited data in the game to increase her speed, which made it faster than her pedaling did. Another player was caught doing a similar thing, but at a 9 % boost or so. So far these are the only two people who were banned, but there could be other cheaters. You can read about this news here - Kotaku

I can't believe no one has posted about this news yet. I guess the scrapped GoledenEye 007 remaster for the Xbox 360 was leaked online recently. I saw some gameplay of it and it looks in line with the remastered version of Perfect Dark on the 360. Rare was the ones developing the game though. The game didn't see the light of day due to licencing and other rights. But, it's now online, so go searching at your own risk. You can read about this news here - NME Wouldn't mind getting my friends to download this and we all play some MP, but it looks like there is on online MP, which is fair considering it wasn't completed. But it has local multiplayer.
