It's also available in ROM form, and likely digital. A lot of these developers still sell the games digitally, or in ROM form so you can play it on an emulator for example. It's also not a licensed game, so it can't be released on the Switch. I mean, they could get it licensed I imagine, if they wanted to. Nostalgia. Some people like the idea of working on old hardware and making games under said limitations. There is also a market of gamers who like to buy rom hacks/mods, and even custom made games on older hardware. It keeps that nostalgia alive, along with those old consoles.

There's an article from Spectrum IEEE that talks about new cars that are capable of allowing the passengers to play video games on the dashboard screen. It seems Tesla wants to offer such things. Of course there are safety measures in place, where you're not able to game while driving. But they also mention that Tesla wants to work out a way where the steering wheel of the car, would work in the game. Do you like the idea of being able to play games in a car? I think it's cool and all, but they do mention that the wheels move if you use the steering wheel in a game. So there's potential that when you do go to drive, you may forget the position the tires were in and could crash into a car or pedestrian. So there is risk with it. And with how stupid people can be with cars, there will be a lot of accidents because of this. What are your thoughts?

Hitman 3 released just a few days ago, and it's getting really good reviews. It's essentially Hitman 1 and 2, just with more features and options. Anyway, it's been said that this is the final game in the franchise for now, as IO Interactive is going to be working on an untitled James Bond game soon, so Hitman will be put on the back burner for the foreseeable future. So how long do you think Hitman will be gone for? I would be fine with a few year break, and then they re-invent Hitman all over again. With the current gen consoles, the worlds in Hitman games can potentially get even bigger. So I'm excited for Agent 47's future. Anyway, how long do you think it'll be before we get more Hitman? Will they maybe release new missions for a while? I sure hope so.

So CDPR had a somewhat different look for Johnny Silverhand before Keanu Reeves took on the role. You can see concept art for the character here - Twisted Voxel He looks more like a glam rocker from the 80s. And I also got a Nicholas Cage vibe from a few of the looks. I think the big reason they included Keanu, was to increase sales. Which is fine, I don't mind them having an famous actor. Do you like any of the original looks? Or do you prefer how he looks now?

lol never mind. Microsoft has since changed their mind, after receiving a ton of backlash from people. The link in my post above will have the updated news. They apologized for the decision as well. It's good that us speaking our mind does this though. Shows that when they make dumb decisions in the future, it will be fairly easy to push back against it.

Yeah, the style is very overwatch and fortnite like. If anything too, the character kind of reminds me of a mix of Han Solo and Star-Lord. But even so, every game out there takes inspiration from somewhere.

Well it kind of was already announced. A new game in the series is being worked on, and there was a reveal trailer at last year's Game Awards teasing it. You can check it below. So far it just has the working title of "Mass Effect", but it could be a sequel, prequel or a whole new story. Or, it could be a reboot.

Games you’d want to play if they were easier for you?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Any games like Dark Souls. But I also want to get back into the Tenchu series and replay those, and those are known for having some outdated controls. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head. -
I like to do a mix. I will gradually do the story, and mix in some side quests. Sometimes I'll go through a string of side quests and then take on a mission. I usually do this to help spur on upgrades and such. I find that I have more fun going towards side quests, as they're faster and easier to do.

How many games are installed on your system currently?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
My Xbox One, I have well over 20 installed. I try to keep it clean, but when you have COD taking up storage, you can't get much on there. It may even be less, as I recently downloaded the new COD a bit ago. -
Controversial opinion, idk if I really have one. Or one that I can't think of. I'm literally drawing a blank. It's kind of like saying there should be no religious movies. I say let the religious people out there have their movies and games. I don't think it's going to hurt anyone. Religion and games have been co-existing forever now though. Assassin's Creed for example is heavily inspired by religion, and has a lot of themes regarding it. I'm no fan of religion being forced onto us in games or in movies, but I just ignore that type of media. 😄

I've seen many vids online of parents destroying their children's consoles because of bad behavior. That sort of thing has never happened to me. I haven't had so much of a console taken away from me either. But, has anyone here had a parent that took their consoles away or even destroyed them if you didn't behave? I want to hear your stories and why your parents did it.

Here are the top 10 video games, that are impossible to 100% after you get to the credits. What are some games you remember wanting to finish 100%, but once you beat it, it stopped you from playing again?

According to a report from MP1st, Respawn Entertainment, creators of Apex Legends, stole the design of another games character. The game in question is Bulletville, a multiplayer shooter. Apex Legends released a new character called "Fuse" which is close in style as Bulletville's Hunter character. You can view the image below. Does it look like they took inspiration? Is it too similar? \ Bulletfille's character is on the left, and was in production before Fuse. In fact, the article points out that they did a play test with EA at some point, so they likely saw the character and took inspiration from it. To me, it looks too similar. From the arms, the look, the hair, to even the belt buckle. What do you guys think?

This game is going to be something else. Capcom released a live stream yesterday showcasing the new Resident Evil 8: Village. It's an hour long stream with a demo of the game, and the trailer. Check it out below and let us know what you think. As well, I hear the demo for the game is out now on the PS5, so get at it while it's available for download. 🙂

Well well well, looks like Xbox Live is going up in price. Not quite sure why, but I suspect it could be in relation to Game Pass. Though they don't really say that's why. Anyway, according to Xbox themselves, 1 month of XBL will be increasing by $1, 3 months by an extra $5 and 6 months would put you back $60, which is what it was for 12 months in the past. Anyway, what do you think of this? I have been mostly getting game pass, and since that isn't changing in price. And the good news, is that you can use all of your months and convert it to Game Pass Ultimate instead. And I think that's what their intention is, XBL gold will probably just merge with ultimate at some point. Because, I suspect that XBL gold will gradually just go away. And the pricing you see, is probably going to reflect the Ultimate pricing now. You can read this news here - https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2021/01/22/update-on-xbox-live-gold-pricing/

I used to report people all the time back in the 360 days. I even had a clan where I would snitch on people who hacked and cheated. I would even report people who said horribly offensive things and had offensive names. I would never report anyone because they were a noob or bad at the game though. If you did, you could get banned for filing false reports. I only reported people I know where hacking and cheating (mostly Call of Duty, as it was easy to see lol) and who were extremely offensive. (racism, homophobia, etc) But yeah, these days I don't play much online games. If I do, it's with friends and we stick to private parties anyway. I haven't reported anyone in a long time.

Yeah, not many people play Pinball these days. I think the only places that still might have them, are hotels, theaters, bars, and other places. With this thing, they are adding a bunch of pinball games in there. 🙂 I kind of want to get one of these for my dad, as he used to play pinball a lot as a kid and teen.

I agree, the demo isn't the big issue here. But, it's going to be used against them because they've already been known to lie about the product. And you know this how? They didn't need much time to see the problems last gen had though. And lets face it, the PC version isn't free of the same errors either. I've seen a lot of the same exact bugs in the PC version that I've seen in the last gen version. They knew this game wasn't finished, and they willingly shipped it out because they wanted that holiday money. As well, the whole "they did it because of death threats" is bs. This game clearly needed another delay, and a long one at that, and it would have been the best thing for them, considering they probably wouldn't be facing down 4 different lawsuits. They're getting way more hate now than they ever did after their last delay. It doesn't prove he's wrong though. Sure he has to hide his sources, because the game industry is a fickle one, and it's easy to lose ones job in this industry. But I believe him considering CDPR management has gotten hate from even their dev team because of their lies. Switching themes can sometimes put a major halt on production though, especially if it's during mid-development and it's already established an idea. So you may think a change in theme is no big deal, but it can literally cause a project to restart from the beginning. So many games have went through this process, people develop the game, have a clear vision, and then someone comes in and decides to change it up a bit, or bring it back to the drawing board. So yeah, it can really cause problems with games, it has for a lot of games. Anyway, CDPR knowingly lied and released a product that wasn't completed. They knew what they were releasing, and did it anyway. There's no excuse on their part. They made their bed, and they have to sleep in it now.

There's actually been a few Punisher games. I remember one being released for the NES, and the most famous one came out for the PS2/Xbox back in like 04 or 05. That's the one with the cult following, as it allowed you to do some pretty gruesome kills. That was 16 years or so ago, the last game I see we got, was in 2009, and it looks to just be a pinball game. So we're for sure due for another Punisher game.

So if you don't know, Hitman 3 came out yesterday and it comes with literally every game before it included. They did the same thing with the 2nd game, and I'm glad they did it with the 3rd, as it adds so much more to those missions in previous releases. I would love to see more games doing this for their yearly releases. Just imagine if Call of Duty did something like this, they could essentially have every map, gun, mode, etc, all in one game, each year. Of course it kind of makes those past releases pointless, but I think they would be forgotten anyway, and this way the games will be there for anyone who wants to try them out. Anyway, I think this could benefit many franchises that do the yearly releases. Lets go back to COD for example. Lets face it, most people drop the last game and move on to the new ones eventually, so instead of leaving those games behind, combine them into the newer titles, so that they can take advantage of the maps and everything else. I think it could be very helpful. But, with COD, that would balloon the game in size no doubt.

What are some games that were removed from marketplaces and are no longer purchasable? I am reminded of the Scott Pilgrim game that just re-released. Originally that game came out for the 360, ps3 and pc I believe, and each one was removed from their marketplaces. This made me wonder, what are some of the games that you wish were still available for purchase digitally? There seems to be so many games out there that get released digitally, and then disappear from the marketplace. What are some of the games you wish were available for sale again? Scott Pilgrim is back, what other game removed do you want to see added back?

So this is a bit of sad news, pro gamer ZooMaa had to retire from the pro gaming scene due to a thumb and wrist injury that returned. He felt that he couldn't go on and compete at the highest level due to the pain. Read this article and thought he'd be out of gaming for life, but I think he's only stopping in terms of pro playing. I think he still intends to game, just has to heal up more before he can take on the task of being a pro gamer again. The game he was a pro at was Call of Duty. No idea if and when he would be returning, maybe this injury could heal up and he could be back in no time. You can read more about his story here - NBC News Anyway, the main reason I started this topic, was to discuss the whole idea of possibly not being able to play video games again. What would you do if you were no longer able to play video games because of an injury like that? I would probably buy one of those adaptive controllers that Xbox makes. I would find a way to continue playing I think. What about you?

I had no idea Control was coming out for the Switch, and low and behold, I see a review about it online. Thing is, the game isn't being run on Switch hardware, it's being streamed. Remedy entertainment decided to go the route of having the game be streamed in order to play on the Switch, and I guess it's not as bad as I first envisioned. At least if the review is correct. And I guess some other games are mostly run through the cloud, those being the new Assassin's Creed and Resident Evil 7. So this could also mean more resource heavy games, can run better on switch, of course you still need to rely on the internet to provide a stable connection. Anyway, check out the review that Gaming Respawn did here.
