Playing with friends or strangers, which is more fun?
Kane99 replied to bomb's topic in Gaming Forum
Friends of course. But the majority of the time, I probably play against people I don't know, at least when it comes to the likes of Call of Duty for example. Other than that, I usually stick to a private party with my friends, and rarely bother with talking to strangers otherwise. But, it can be fun playing with strangers. -
I currently have 162 games on steam, the majority of which I haven't played or don't plan to. I have a shelf full of games I haven't played, for many consoles at this point. And sadly, I probably will never be able to play them all, and I probably don't even want to. But with services like humble bundle, it's becoming easier to get more games lol.

It was more simple for me, I like sub zero because he freezes dudes lol and is blue lol. And I dig the outfit. Same with Scorpion. The claw has always been badass to me. Even Reptile I find to be dope. One thing about Noob, is that he was like a glitch character and they decided to make him a real character after. Didn't know that for quite a while.

It's time for developers/publishers to stop rushing games to release
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
Oh yeah, to those throwing threats out there at the devs of publishers, shame on them. There is no excuse for that type of behavior. I understand some of their anger, but to go out and send death threats is just messed up. Take your refund and move along. But yeah, times need to change, and I think for the most part, they want to make things right, and they will make things right I imagine. -
There has been rumors for a while now, that there will be an upgraded Nintendo Switch that will support 4K. That's great and all, and I hope that is to happen, but one thing I want them to consider fixing, is the joy con controllers. They need to find a way to make sure that joy con drift is a thing of the past. And they need to make it workable on current switch models as well. I think this would be the perfect time for Nintendo to address this issue. Make a controller that stands the test of time, not one that gradually degrades as you get it. Do you think Nintendo will make a new version of the joycons? Or will they release the same exact models for the switch?

It is time that studios and publishers let games take time to grow, because it's clear from the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, that this game was not ready for primetime, and it may not have been ready for quite a while. I've played it on PC since I got it, and I am having a blast, but I am encountering some weird bugs, some at times nearly game breaking. But so far I've been lucky. But that's not the case for some others, on PS4 and Xbox One for example, it's stated that the game is barely playable. It's so bad, that they're offering refunds now, on all consoles to my knowledge. And rightfully so, this shouldn't be happening anymore. It's time for publishers to allow developers to take as much time as needed to make their games. If they can't afford to wait that long, make it a smaller game, or do something else. Don't make a huge, ambitious game, if you can't give it the time it needs to become the game you want it to be. Cyberpunk 2077 was in production since 2012 or so, there is no excuse for a game to come out in this state. We've waited 8 years, what's another year or two to really smooth things out? I argue it's similar to the launch of Fallout 76 in a way, just not as bad. And really, we need to voice our thoughts about this, because it seems fans of CD Projekt Red don't care, and won't judge their godsend of a studio. But, they will freely go out and bash Bethesda for Fallout 76, yet it's a similar situation here. I don't think CD Projekt Red should be given a pass for this honestly, and I think people are taking notice. Any other studios out there, need to take notice, because this is starting to become unacceptable in the gaming industry. They could have easily delayed it until sometime in 2021, yeah they'd get some hate from fans for delaying yet again, but it would be better than dealing with what's going on now. And I understand a few small glitches here and there are bound to happen in most games, that's not a big deal. But, if it causes the game to literally break at a certain point, it's probably better to some more dev time on it before shipping. This isn't just about CP2077 though, it's for all of those publishers that want to hit a certain date, or a certain holiday, or to make it for release before the new year. It's time that we as consumers make out voices heard. Studios need time to make their games, and publishers need to stop pushing dates that are unrealistic. But yeah, a little rant, feel free to add to it if you want. 😄 I have dealt with buggy games in the past, and for the most part I haven't had a whole lot of problems with Cyberpunk 2077 myself. But, I do fear I will hit some game breaking bug at some point. Hell, one of the side missions I did, I glitched one of the enemies out by somehow trapping her in a fridge, so she was stuck clipping to it, so I could run up and attack. Another glitch I encountered, was when I broke a window and tried to jump through, I immediately flew back like 100 meters away lol. I've had other bugs where I can't run, or aim my gun, and in the beginning I encountered a bug where I had to shoot from a car, but it wouldn't let me, and somehow it just allowed me to finish the mission. It was weird. How do you feel about developers rushing games to meet a deadline? Do you think CP2077 should have had more time in the oven? What about other games that came out in a similar state? Do you think studios owe it to gamers to refund them if a game is this broken? I think so. Also, sorry for the long wall of text lol.

Don't read if you don't want to know. According to the article from What If Gaming, a familiar face will be showing up, as well as some details on the infected in this game. I won't say anything else, so read at your own volition. I gotta admit though, the bosses they showcase look to be quite big, so that's going to be interesting! 🙂

I think my main issue with devs not getting paid fairly, is the countless times studios forced crunch on their employees, some to the point they weren't paid overtime or bonuses and such. I just hate seeing CEOs and big company heads taking the lump of the money when it should be divided up more evenly. And even so, I don't mind if the CEO is paid a lot. I hate it when they get paid bonuses, all the while they're laying off hundreds of people on their staff. I figure the devs will always be the ones paid less compared to the big studios and publishers they are under, but I think devs deserve a lot more pay and benefits for sure. Maybe not near the level of a CEO, but a fair wage increase indeed. Especially paid overtime, and paid time off and other benefits while we're at it.

So was this a way to like keep the internet clean? I had something similar where I was part of a group that reported hackers, cheaters and people who got a little too offensive. I know some will say that's lame to do, but I didn't care, and I always thought it was fun to report people who I caught hacking and cheating. It was especially nice when Microsoft sent me a couple PMs in the past, thanking me for reporting people. 😄

yeah, it's how they learn to play the game, well, to some extent I imagine. It teaches them defeat and that you're not always going to win. When I was younger, I would play games with my nephew by pretending he was also playing, but the controller would be unplugged. It's always funny when they learn that the controller was never connected lol. But yeah, I have no issues with it, because we all need to learn about defeat in games like that.

Well it's Mortal Kombat lol, but das okay! My favorite character, would probably be Scorpion, as cliche as that is, he was always the badass of the series imo. It's also probably because I grew up with the series, and he and Sub Zero were like the two top dogs in a way. Also I think it's because in a way, I was reminded of power rangers, and I liked how the game had many different characters wearing the same stuff, for example Scorpion, Sub Zero, Reptile, and Noob Saibot I think. Same with the cyborg charters that I seem to have forgotten the names of. But yeah, fond memories all around.

Depends on the game. I'm good with a shorter adventure as long as it's fun and has replayability. I prefer to have a longer adventure game, especially if it's a great game with an expansive story. As long as either game is good and fun, I don't care much. I think with shorter games as well, it doesn't get boring or repetitive too soon. With longer games, there's always that chance it becomes boring after a while. But that's just me sometimes.

Cyberpunk 2077 came out a glitchy, bugged mess, and many games had to deal with games crashing constantly, consoles not even being able to play them good (PS4,Xbox One), and even on the new gen consoles, the game doesn't run so great. Personally, the game is a mess with glitches and bugs, but it hasn't stopped me from enjoying it. But, there is a lot of anger among fans who think this game needed to be taken back into the kitchen to be corrected. With that being said, do you think CD Projekt Red will do something to make up for this? I could see them releasing all kinds of DLC for free to make up for it. Didn't they give out a ton of free DLC for the Witcher 3 at one point? Maybe they'll give gamers the free season pass, that would go over very well. But, either way, I feel like they need to do something for those having problems with the game.

COG Connected here Link removed, has an assortment of deals on video game accessories, such as controllers, monitors, headsets, etc. They list a Razer Wolverine Tournament Edition Xbox One Controller for $80, that's a 30% savings. A 2TB Seagate drive for just $80, Corsair gaming headset for $50, and many other peripherals you may be interested in picking up. Check out the deals at the link I posted above. I wish I had the money to grab some of these for myself. But alas, me broke. 😞

The big problem with Xbox consoles, is that they don't usually get a lot of exclusives compared to Sony's side of things. But, I hope things start to change soon, as I would love to see more exclusives come out for the Xbox so it can compete some more with Sony and other consoles out there. Once they start getting more of the exclusives in, I think the Xbox Series X and S will start to sell even more. I do wonder how well the Series S is fairing in sales. I can see it being the top earner right now, especially at just $300 was it?

I recently heard of this site/service called Gather, where you can create spaces to voice/video chat with one another, and it also allows you to play games together. It's actually quite cool. I haven't used it yet, as I don't think I have enough friends to take advantage of it lol. But I figure VGR would benefit from having their own page on there if possible. I won't link it as I don't know if that would be considered advertising, especially since it's not a news article like I sometimes post. Just search for Gather on Google and it should be the first result. 🙂👍

I agree, I think it's overall the better FPS on the N64. Goldeneye is great and all, but the shooting hasn't aged all too well, while PD is still fairly easy to control.

True, but I think for the most part, the 360 sold better because the PS3's rocky launch, especially with the $600 price tag at release. But once prices went down, Sony ended up taking the lead. The PS4 took such a major lead, because Microsoft screwed themselves over by originally forcing DRM, always online, and Kinect. That caused fans to jump over to Sony, and I don't think they have fully recovered. I think MS will be just fine though. It's not like they have to match what Sony is doing. As long as they make profit, they'll be happy.

lol, I know right. I think if I'd own it, even as ugly as it is, I'd still get hungry, because if I see KFC, I may get a craving for it. So, in a way, it's smart on KFCs part to put out a controller, even if you can't buy it.

I forgot to mention I played the first Man Hunt when I was fairly young, probably one of the most violent games ever. Don't know how my parents allowed me to play it, but they rarely bothered to check up on what I was playing as a kid.

Ryzen is supposed to be a good brand, but I never had the privelege of getting myself a Ryzen PC or Laptop. I would love to have this Laptop, as my current laptop is due for a replacement soon.

I wouldn't say all issues have been fixed. It's still kind of a buggy mess at times. I'm still having problems on PC where I can't run at points. It's a small issue, but can get annoying when you're in the heat of battle. I heard there was a lot of hate going around because some reviewer at Gamestop didn't play the full game when doing her review. She supposedly skipped most of the side missions, didn't do upgrading, crafting, or anything really. She just focussed on the main story and that was her review essentially.

Daily Video Game made an article listing off some great deals on Amazon. Many great games for sale, like Resident Evil 3, Skyrim Remastered, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and more. Check out the deals at the link below. Moderator Edit: Removed the link and locking the topic as it does not conform to Guidelines and Rules for posts in the Video Game Deals sub-forum. I would ask @Kane99 to please review these rules before posting further in sub-forum. If you yourself Kane99 or anyone has questions, I'll be haapy to help answer them.

Should players/teams who are caught cheating be forced out of the pro leagues for life? Or do they deserve a second chance at some point? I think it should go like this, maybe a week long ban, and then a month long ban for the second offense? And a third offense is a ban for life maybe? What do you guys think?
