Oh yeah, I played Black. I had a copy for the PS2 and I remember getting it with my birthday or Christmas money one year. Sadly I don't have that game anymore. I would love to pick up another copy of it soon. Haven't played it since it originally came out. Damn it's been a long time. I'll check out Project IGI. I didn't know there was a Black Hawk down game. Might have to check that one out too. And I'm always down for some DOOM. 😄

Oh, I was under the impression it was like $50 or so. That's even better then. I still might wait for a deal to come along before picking it up. I'm a patient person. 😄 Anyway, I watched some more streams of it recently and I'm getting more interested in playing it now.

Has anyone here ever modded an original Xbox? I hear it's a great console to play modded games and even emulators. I hear there is an HDMI adapter to get 720p as well, so it's not a bad option for emulation and other means. If you have modded one, how was the process? Any suggestions on how to get started? I just got a used original xbox and don't plan to use it otherwise, so may as well modify it to be something I can use from time to time. 🙂

What are some good alternatives to Call of Duty? I'd say Medal Of Honor, but I can't go back to FPS games back on the PS1. I can't even play Perfect Dark or Goldeneye without having some eye strain lol. Anyway, what are some alternatives to the Call of Duty franchise? I am not too fond of the Battlefield series, so I'd like to skip that. Any other suggestions would be fine though. 🙂 I'm mainly looking for games from past gen to current. So 360/PS3 to today. Maybe PS2/Xbox as well, as I used to love a lot of shooters on those consoles back in the day.

Pachter – Sony to Outsell Microsoft by 5 Million Units a Year
Kane99 posted a topic in Gaming News
I'm not one to really follow what Pachter says, as his predictions rarely come true, but I can kind of see this, but at a lower amount. His new prediction is that the PlayStation 5 will outsell the Xbox Series X by 5 million units a year. Do you think that will happen? I doubt it, as I suspect this generation is going to be much closer than last gen. Keep in mind, Xbox flubbed the launch of the Xbox One originally when they announced the DRM and always online stupidity, and that really caused them a lot of problems. I think that's why the PS4 did so well, because previous Xbox fans jumped over to Sony. Anyway, do you think the PS5 will sell over 5 million more units over the new Xbox? Or will the race be a lot closer? I think Microsoft has a slight edge with backwards compatibility and gamepass. But, Sony also has the exclusives right now. You can read about this story here - Playstationing And you can find the question and answer in Pachter's video below. -
Well, if it wasn't bad enough that consumers are confusing the Xbox One X for the Series X, the new game boxes may still cause more confusion. Tell me which one is the Xbox Series X and the Xbox One version? These game covers are going to cause some confusion. Here is what you're expected to get with each version. Xbox One version: Xbox Series X version: Here's an article talking about the confusion - Pure Xbox

So it seems that this Black Friday is going to good. According to some sources, the Xbox and PlayStation consoles will be out for black friday shopping. How many will be available at each store is unknown, but expect these to sell out quite fast. You can view the Best Buy Black Friday Ad at the link below. Don't expect any sales on the new gen consoles though, they're still priced the same. Check out the Ad below. https://dailyvideogame.com/2020/10/best-buy-black-friday-ads-2020-revealed/

Should cheaters be banned for life?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
I agree to some extent. I think for it to be a lifetime ban, it has to be from excessive hacking and abuse. I think if it's a one time thing, and they never did it again, I think that's fine, but if it's continued and after a warning or two it doesn't stop, ban them. I think temp bans have worked before, especially if they're week/month bans. I loved what Xbl did when people who broke the rules. They would ban them for a given time frame, so sometimes a week, a month, depends on the thing they did. But, I got a laugh out of the ones where they console ban someone until 2999 or 2099 or something like that. -
Classic games from your youth that everyone has forgotten about?
Kane99 replied to DylanC's topic in Gaming Forum
I'm familiar with it, but didn't play it much myself. That's cool that you made tournaments/championship events and stuff. That sounds like fun. A classic game I think people kind of forget, is RoboWarrior for the NES. I remember getting it from a thrift store when I was a kid, and I remember loving the cover art. I never played it for too long, as I couldn't get very far. It was kind of like bomberman, in that you needed to clear a path to get through the level and you have to use bombs to clear said path. But, there are enemies who are in your way and I thin some that can go through obstacles to get to you. idk, I need to replay it soon. -
Do you have any proof of the female streamers bit? Seems a bit far fetched to me. Not saying women can't hack or cheat like men, it's just that I don't really see it being a lot. Are you also implying that the majority of hackers/cheaters are female? I just don't see it.

That's the thing, they were on beta, but it seems Samsung and others are releasing these out to the public right now. So it's no longer a beta program. I suppose the price tag helps with that, as I doubt a lot of people will be spending $1000+ on something that could break fast. I see these phones around for a while and then I think they will go into obscurity like all the other weird gadgets of the past do.

What is a good Call of Duty title to try?
Kane99 replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Video Games
Call of Duty 2 for the PS3/Xbox 360 is a good start. I suggest skipping COD3 and going right to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I also recommend Modern Warfare 2 & 3 (even though I have some hate for MW2 being a hacked mess after some time). Oh and the first Black Ops, but I can't stand any of the sequels sadly. Maybe Black Ops 2 storyline, but if we're going by multiplayer, those games above are my go to. -
Guitar Hero and Rock Band haven't been popular in quite a long time. They both kind of had a resurgence during the current gen consoles, but it was soon forgotten and now you don't hear a damn thing about either series. Do you think either series can make a comeback? I just don't see people showing enough interest anymore. The idea was cool while it lasted, but the fandom has kind of dried up sadly. But, if done right, could either game make a comeback? Or are we all out of chances?

What do you consider best for mobile gaming? A wireless bluetooth controller maybe? I imagine to really get use out of it, you'd need a phone holder along with it. Those seem to go for pretty cheap. I have one for Xbox One controllers. So something like the image below. Or, would you rather use a controller adapter on your mobile phone? Something like the image below. Or, maybe even something like this:

Dead Space was a classic horror game, and the second to my knowledge was also regarded as a classic, but when the 3rd game came out, it turned out to be a letdown for most fans. I played the first game for a bit, and really like the atmosphere and the gameplay. I want to revisit that, but I think it could do for a reboot completely.

Source of article VGC This is a big step into the right direction in the fight to end loot boxes. EA will be forced to pay €500k every week until they remove loot boxes in FIFA. I sure hope this pushes other countries to ban this shit. I don't care if a game has loot boxes, as long as those loot boxes aren't pushed in some gambling scheme. Make lootboxes something you can achieve by playing the game or by using in game credit you get from playing the game. Because when you put in an option to buy a loot box, no one knows what you're getting. Sure you're expected to gain rare items, but really, is it worth it? Anyway, do you think EA will be forced to remove Loot boxes? I can see them removing them for the new game, and then sneakily putting it in later in their newer games. I bet you, they will try to add them back in later on.

Should cheaters be banned for life?
Kane99 replied to Kane99's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
Yes, I love this! I love when they find ways to screw over the hackers/cheaters. I remember they did that recently with Fall Guys, supposedly players were forced into their own lobbies and were forced to play against each other, but I think they did something else to screw with them even more. -
Since I've been playing Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, I guess I'll talk about that. I love this DLC for RDR1. The story mode is a ton of fun, and the multiplayer is a blast too. Sadly I couldn't get multiplayer to work last night. I suspect the servers may be down or maybe I just can't get it to work on Xbox One. 😞 Anyway, I played a few hours last night while I had a meeting with some people I work with. I think I'm nearly halfway through the DLC. I'm thinking I might stream it tonight for a Halloween stream. As for the game today. It runs great and still looks great. The controls are a bit stiff though, especially when riding your horse. I respect that RDR2 made some much needed changes. But I still would prefer they keep it the way it was in RDR1 so you can't flip off your horse when crashing into stuff. Deadeye rocks as usual, and there are all kinds of undead monsters to deal with. Some areas can get pretty chaotic. Who here remembers the Undead nightmare DLC? I remember the trailer that came out for it and was so happy to see actual tv spots for the game.

Genshin Impact and just re-started Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare. Just as good as it was 10 years ago. I played for a few hours last night and I think I may be halfway through it already. I wish it was never ending. 😄

That's what I think is going to happen eventually. The hinges alone are going to be a collector of dust and hair, that eventually it will start to just degrade. Linus on YouTube made a video about these phones and did stress tests on them. So he put them in sand I think and dropped debris on it. It was also easy to scratch, because it is plastic after all. I don't think a folding phone is practical. It's cool, and for the most part, it does work, but for how long will it work properly?

Yes, but this is a topic specifically for Remothered: Broken Porcelain. That topic is geared for discussions about the best horror games not just one game. So I don't see a problem with creating a topic just for the game. I also don't see any other topics made for the game so I figured it was fair game to post a topic for it. I think I'm going to wait for a deal on this one to pick it up. I want to give it a shot, because from the streams I've watched of it so far, the game looks scary. The controls don't look super great though. But yeah, will wait for a sale to come to buy it.

With all the talk about how certain companies are awful *cough* EA *cough* Ubisoft *cough* It got me thinking. Why not talk about the developers and publishers you actually respect. What studios do you trust? I'd add Nintendo, but sometimes I'm unsure about them. They have made poor decisions in the past. I think SEGA for the most part is a good studio/publisher. They don't seem to get on peoples nerves so much. Yeah they may make a few bad games, but they aren't on the levels of EA or Ubisoft, or 2K etc. Kojima is someone I'd add as developer I respect, same with Miyamoto at Nintendo. I have respect for a lot of indie studios as well, as they tend to do most of their work and production/marketing.

Remothered: Broken Porcelain recently came out. I've seen some reviews, and they all seem unfavorable about the experience. I think this game was meant for the cult following the first game garnered. I haven't played either game, but I still think I'd like to give them both a try. Especially the new one, as it does look kind of fun.
