  1. I just hope this delay is enough to release it in a playable state. And I hope it isn't a broken game at release, but I'm starting to be reminded of other delays in recent memory, and that's not good. Anyway, if it does release with problems, it was probably the higher ups pushing for it to release sooner than later.
  2. It doesn't make sense at all, especially since this game looked fairly fine to begin with. I don't even know what big changes they made aside from making it look better visually and a few other things here and there. But I found more issues with this release according to the article below. I guess it's a completely different version of the game, so different that anything added to this version, will not work in the original game. I'll quote the article a bit below: https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/xbox/the-outer-worlds-spacers-choice-edition-a-disappointingly-appropriate-name The fact it's being priced for $60, and there's no upgrade options for the original game, seems scummy to me. This is just dumb. There was no reason for this game to get a remaster already. And the way they're making you jump through hoops to get a discount for owning the original game is annoying as well.
  3. With Skyrim I usually do a mix of story and side quests. Sometimes more side quests, and other days I mix it up and do more story missions. If I finish the main game before the side quests, I will feel motivated to finish those up. Usually once I finish everything, I call it quits. I haven't really gone back to Skyrim much after finishing it. But, it is something I'm due to play again soon, I feel I need to. There is a game that comes to mind where I don't usually bother with side missions. I usually do the main story and destroy stuff. Aside from that, I don't bother doing the racing missions, or any of the other side missions. I did collect all items in one of the Just cause games, but I forget which one at this point. But yeah, some games side missions/quests aren't worth it sometimes.
  4. When I have kids, I plan to slowly get them into video games. I had the idea of getting them started with the early consoles first like; NES, SNES, Genesis, older pc, etc. And then eventually show them to the games to follow. I think it'd be fun to show them the start, just so they know where gaming started, or sort of began or was popularized. Seeing my nephew playing video games for the first time, where he knew what to do, was a joy to see. Seeing him do better in some games was even cooler. He kills at Portal and Portal 2, and is a huge fan of the Half life series already, and has beat those games over and over now. I wish I could get into the Half Life series like him haha.
  5. Oof, this is not good. I am not a Pokemon player, but this kind of thing can result in players being reimbursed. Especially if it results in hours and hours of saves being lost with no chance of getting them back. It reminds me of the time I got a PS2 demo disc from PlayStation Underground. This disc had a demo for Viewfitul Joe. When playing this demo, it actually deletes all of your saves files on any memory card connected to the console. I had one card on there and lost my save for GTA San Andreas and a few other games. I was very far in GTA SA and was pissed off when I found out what happened. I heard a while later that the issue was well known and Sony was offering free copies of one of the Sly Cooper games to make up for it. Sadly I didn't call them in time to take them up on the deal. But I can see Nintendo offering a free game for the mistake, especially if the save files are unrecoverable. Which is dumb at this point, all games should have cloud saves as a backup at this point, or the saves should be held on their servers.
  6. I think the bigger the better, maybe around what the Steamdeck has now days. I can do smaller of course, but I think the size of the Switch and SteamDeck would be good. Or a smartphone even, as most new smartphones have decent sized screens.
  7. And it's Bethesda we're talking about, they're known for releasing stuff half baked or in a broken state. I don't think they want another Fallout 76, or to deal with what Cyberpunk 2077 dealt with. They should just delay it, and say we'll announce a release date when we're ready. They need to stop giving another date when we know they clearly aren't going to fulfil that date, or if they do, they end up releasing a half baked product because they were pushed to release unfinished or in a broken state. These studios heads need to stop setting release dates, let the development happen. Once you have a working game, then announce it. These studios make the mistake of announcing a new game years before development sometimes, and it's as if they don't get why fans are annoyed about it. It's annoying seeing the endless delays, new release dates, and then rinse and repeat.
  8. When I first played it, I thought there was more, so didn't know what to do originally. But I knew Agent 47 wasn't dead, was just stuck on what to do next. Think I even used a guide back then lol. But yeah, no way would they ever kill off 47. I mean, he is a clone himself, hence the name 47, but I don't think they would ever kill him off and replace him with someone else. I would like to see him take on one of his clones as a protégé. He's fought clones in the series a few times. Plus I think he was tasked helping a young girl who was cloned the same way he was, to be a killer. I think he helps train her to do good or something, but I forget. I think that was in Absolution. I know you have to protect a girl who has your skills or something.
  9. If anything it's already due for a new model. Most console generations last 5 years, and Switch was already a dated console at release, which is a think Nintendo is known for. But, they do fine because a handheld console doesn't need to have the best hardware around, but it sure would be nice. Anyway, I think we'll eventually hear some rumbling about a new switch soon. It's about due time that they announce a new console, and I hope they go nostalgic and call it the Super Switch. I would love Nintendo forever if they went that route. :D
  10. Didn't the original game take place in LA? Or was it Florida? Or was it something like Hawaii? I forget lol. But yeah, I'm sure they will exaggerate things a bit. Do you guys think it'll get delayed again? I have a feeling we're going to end up getting another delay, unless they stay true to the release date. If so, I hope it doesn't release with problems. I want this release to go good.
  11. I'll reserve my judgement for when the game officially releases. My guess is this will get delayed further and we will have to wait longer. This game needs something to set it apart from all the other games, and I don't think they can figure that out. I wonder if this game will even release.
  12. Expect to see more popular games get a tv treatment soon, people are taking notice to gaming as a respectful place to find potential tv shows. The Last of Us shows they can make something brilliant, so now it comes down to these game companies dishing out money to make movies on their IPs. I think a show is the way to go for this honestly. It lets you flesh out your characters more. I could see Uncharted make a series, even with the movie being a thing. But even better, I think the next best move for Lara Croft is to get her own tv show. It would make sense as we can see her rise from he young years to the Tomb Raider we know her to become. I'm sure tv studios are taking notice of games more and more. But now they're going to take them more seriously, to match the quality of The Last of us Show. The Last of Us first game couldn't have worked as its own movie. I think the tv show does it right in showing us this wider picture that a movie couldn't.
  13. Yeah, it felt like it went backwards. My thought was that it would have you wrestle in arenas as usual, but you could take the battle backstage. But when I saw it was set only back stage I was like nah. But to be fair, the Mayhem game was far superior to the earlier games like WCW Nitro & WCW/nwO Thunder on the PS1. Those games were even worse. Thankfully the N64 faired better with WCW/nWo Revenge and WCW Vs nWo World Tour.
  14. Covid helped spur sales, especially in digital due to everyone being home, or working from home. I remember hearing stories about the video game industry thriving during the pandemic, aside from the fact that it did kind of hurt game development. Developers seemed to adapt, as now many studios work with developers all over the world. The gaming industry profited a ton during Covid. Thankfully covid seems to be on its way out. So developers can now work together again in person. Though I think many have decided to keep working from home.
  15. Yeah they can. I think they helped inspire the rise of games like Fortnite. Especially after TF2 went free to play after a while. I think the popularity of TF2 will go on for years to come. You know, I gotta admit, Sonic fans are dedicated. I lost my fandom a bit after the series went 3D. I preferred the side-scrolling side of Sonic over the 3D. So I never got into the newer titles myself. But, Sonic fans have stuck by the series, even after they delivered a few stinkers, and mediocre titles. I think Sonic is in the right direction finally, but it can still do better and improve. And I hope they do get better and the next Sonic game is even better than Frontiers.
  16. I usually like to play all the side quests before finishing the main game. I know that then leaves you nothing else to do aside from side activities and so on. I'm speaking of RDR2. I mostly focused on a mix of side missions and doing a couple main story missions. But games like Skyrim are a bit different, because sometimes I get the feeling that the side quests are just as good as some of the main story. So I think it's 50/50 there, where I do side quests, main story, side quest, main story, etc. And I think Skyrim is the game I would finish the story and still have so many side quests left for me to do. Making it feel like you have unlimited stuff to do.
  17. It's so cool seeing one of the little ones get their first win in a video game. It was fun getting my nephew into games, because I think he started with Roblox himself, but we got him on NES, SNES games, stuff like that. I hope to one day become a father and steer my kids into gaming too. :D I think you're confusing the topic. The topic is about seeing people you personally know, playing video games for the first time. So in person, together. Not watching a lets play of it. Though I'm sure a recording of it counts. But it's more of the experience seeing someone you know, play video games for the first time.
  18. Kinda looks like a PS5 lol. But seriously, I'm guessing this is some kind of mod/custom build someone did. Or just your typical promotion with a big company. I highly doubt they have any intention of mass selling this. I'm willing to bet it's more of a novelty thing for a partnership. Kinda like what KFC did with that Xbox One themed controller that never released and was only given away during a giveaway, it could result in a giveaway for the console maybe.
  19. I think the intention in exploring is to find missions and things to do. I assume it opens the map up every time you go somewhere, like how it is when you have a map in Minecraft and it fills in whenever you move. This of course is all based on assumptions, but I think that's what the game is going for. A way to explore and find the missions, or find the next thing to do. I think it sounds like fun. I assume you'll have enemies to fight off or battle. Or some kind of challenge to keep you going or interested.
  20. The Outer World's: Spacer's Choice Edition released recently and I guess it's suffering some problems for all versions, but especially the PS5 version of the game. It's gotten to a point where gamers are asking for refunds. It seems to be worse for the PS5 versions, almost at times being unplayable. But there are performance issues with all versions. Obsidian Entertainment has been apologizing to fans on social media all day about the issues, expressing they are passing the issues to the dev team to sort out. Do you think they will sort it out? Or will Sony force them to issue refunds? Story below: https://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2023/03/09/the-outer-worlds-ps5-spacers-choice-edition-busted-refunds/
  21. So I read an article recently about someone who got a Switch OLED model, had it for a while and then his account got banned for "Fraudulent Activities". But, the reason for the ban was for something that happened before he owned the console. He spoke with Nintendo about it and showed proof that he purchased it used from a company that is a certified reseller. So it seems this guy got a console that was a ticking time bomb. The console was then banned from being used online. The kicker though, is that he transferred all of his safe files to said console and in order to get the files back, he needs to be connected to the web. Sadly, this is something we all need to consider when buying a used console. Because a ban could take affect at any moment after the fact. This is why I tend not to buy refurbished consoles too much, because there is always a risk it was used to cheat, hack, or they broke other TOS. This is the article I read: https://gamerant.com/nintendo-switch-buying-used-risk/?newsletter_popup=1 But yeah, this is nothing new. Just wanted to spread a bit more awareness about the risks with buying used, especially from Ebay and other sites. There's always that risk.
  22. Manhunt and Manhunt 2 released back in the early 2000s and at the time, were regarded as offensive and disturbing games. In my opinion, I liked the first game, but I understood why some people were throwing a fuss about the franchise and how violent it is. Now days though, could a game like Manhunt release without fuss? Part of me thinks it'll be 50/50. I mean we had that Hatred game, and that was probably more offensive in terms of what it portrayed. I know some had a fit about that game and its violence, but I think most people just were like "meh" it's a game with violence, and probably wasn't that good anyway. But I can see some up in arms about this type of game getting out there. I think today it'll be split. What do you think? I think majority of gamers won't care, but parents and non-gamers will see it differently.
  23. Yeah I'm sure there are places or people out there who can fix it. But it seems to be a very precise problem that needs to be fixed fast. Supposedly you need to flash the chip with a previous flash data or whatever, idk how to explain it, but the article goes more into details why this is a hard thing to fix. The only people that are capable are people who worked for Nintendo repairing said consoles, or you'll need to go to someone else who knows how to fix the Wii U. I wonder how hard it would be to find someone who can fix this exact problem.
  24. I've mostly watched videos of the NPCs messing things up for the player. Was having fun watching those, because it's clear the AI needs a bit of work for the NPC companions. It's been popular with streamers as of late, I can see it being popular for a bit and then people moving on to the next best thing soon.
  25. I played one of two of the DBZ fighting games growing up, but haven't touched a DBZ game since. I liked one of them, I think it was the first Tenkaichi game, and maybe the second. These days I don't get into fighting games all that much, but this is giving me some nostalgia, so I may have to check it out.
