  1. I subbed to gamepass ultimate quite a few times. I find that I am able to play many more games this way, especially ones I wanted to try, but wasn't willing to fork out any money. I really think gamepass is the future of gaming. I think we're going to see more services similar come out, especially from Sony and Nintendo. I can see them trying their hand at a game pass like service. Anyway, are you subbed to gamepass?
  2. Has anyone here purchased the TurboGrafx-16 Mini that came out last year? It's like those mini consoles like the NES/SNES classics. It looks pretty cool, but I never had a TurboGrafx anything or played any of the games, so I am not familiar with the games. Amazon is selling it for $99.99, so it's a bit pricey. But, it boasts up to 57 games in total. I'm guessing that's the amount of games that originally came out for the console?
  3. Lol, good. The idea they think it was acceptable to put video ads in a $60 video game is annoying to me. After some backlash for having them, EA gave a half assed apology saying that "UFC does it, so we thought we could too" and have turned off video ads in replays. But yeah, don't put video ads in our games unless they can be skipped. I play games to have fun. It's bad enough we deal with load times, I don't want to be stuck behind an ad for anything. https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/2020/09/09/ufc-4-ads/
  4. If they do VR, I would love for them to call it the virtual boy 2.0 or something, or just virtual boy. I think it's the best name. Cause I don't see them coming up with like VR Switch or something. I think VR is the natural progression we're heading to anyway. If anything, I can see people having little consoles the size of VR headsets, and that's what consoles will be.
  5. lol, I'd love to have it for that gold to be honest, but no way would I pay that amount. I'd gladly take one for free though lol. But we all know that won't happen. 😞
  6. That's how I feel as well. I don't like calling it a sport, even if it's something that may requite some skill when competing at a high level. But, I suppose you gotta call it something, and Esports has a good ring to it. The funny thing is, that esports is becoming more popular than some actual sports, which kind of weirds me out. But I suppose, to each their own.
  7. I've been playing the new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and have been having a blast with it so far. The gameplay is so smooth and fun. It really brings me back to when I was a kid. I fell right back into the gameplay like I never forgot it. So fun!
  8. This is pretty big news, considering EA Play is a monthly service similar to Game Pass. But now, EA has joined the Game Pass program, and it won't cost you anything extra, just your standard Game Pass subscription. This imo, could be huge for the Xbox Series X and S, because it guarantees a ton of games at release. I'm kind of psyched for this, even though EA is relatively a crap company. I'll surly play some of their games though. Watch the reveal trailer below:
  9. Has anyone here played this game? Surprisingly it's quite relaxing to play. It's essentially a game where you play as a moderator, who goes through sites and taking stuff down from sites that violates laws. I probably am doing a crap job of explaining it, so I'll add the trailer for the game below. I played a bit of it last night, and at first I felt overwhelmed with how much stuff you can do, but you eventually get used to it. Now I know how to navigate and do all that stuff. Plus, it reminds me of surfing the web back in the day.
  10. Esports gets some hate for having "Sports" in the title, as some would say gaming is not a sport and shouldn't be classified as such. Would you say that Esports should be classified as sports? I personally don't care what you do. I mean, they call hunting a sport, they call golf a sport, and they call all kinds of other things a sport. So why can't gaming, which does require skill, be called a sport? Especially, considering that it's a competition between people. I think if it's a competition, it should qualify as a sport. What do you guys think?
  11. It seems like gaming stores are starting to disappear like arcades once did. I don't even have a retro game store in my area. Not at least for hundreds of miles away. With that being said, I know Gamestop is trying to sell retro games these days, but in reality, the games they sell aren't always legitimate. Just look on YouTube and you'll see a lot of videos about bootleg games being sold to them, or rom hacks and stuff like that. So I refuse to buy retro anything from Gamestop. Plus it's gamestop, gross! lol Anyway, do you guys still have retro game stores near you? If I had the money and a slew of games, I'd consider starting my own retro shop in my area.
  12. I haven't played Greedfall, Ghost of Tsushima, or Dragon Age. Watch Dogs 2 is a lot of fun. It is a vast improvement over the original game. There's a lot of missions, and side missions to take up your time. I had a blast with it. Plus the story is actually pretty decent. I can't wait for Legions. 😄 Alien Isolation is crazy scary, I couldn't finish it. The Outer Worlds is a fun game as well. Very similar to the Fallout series, but without all the glitches and bugs lol. Sadly, I felt it was kind of short. But it was a lot of fun.
  13. Yeah, he already bought out the oculus rift, so he could easily buy up some other products and games. I think he's spoken about getting more involved with the gaming industry. True, they see to be putting money down for a lot of things. I don't think they own the rights to all ESports. I think they just broadcast tournaments and events. But I think there's been a lot of other ESports broadcasts out there.
  14. I think so too. I can see Sony taking the lead early on. But I think the Xbox has a chance to do better this gen then the last gen at the very least. I think it's Microsoft's fault for the Xbox One not doing so good compared to the PS4. The big reason I think, is because of the Xbox One announcement, where they announced it would always be online and would have DRM. That was a major blow for MS, and I don't think they've fully recovered yet. I think this coming gen, it'll be a bit more closer. But MS needs to put out a lot more exclusives to really have a chance.
  15. So far the price is only known for the Xbox Series S. The Xbox Series X hasn't officially been announced with a price just yet, but rumors are stating it's expected to cost $499 or so. Which I am kind of good with. I would get the Series S, but I want to be able to take advantage of the backwards compatibility.
  16. I used to go for 100% completion percentage on some games, but lately I can't be bothered. Games like Batman Arkham City, Assassin's Creed, GTA and more have made collecting items in game a chore. I think the big culprit is Assassin's Creed. I don't know how many times I played the games in the series, but each one seems to have way too many things to collect. And I know, I don't have to actually collect everything. But, to get 100%, you usually have to. It's why I don't usually 100% most games, because they require so much grinding and searching to complete. Also, with Arkham Knight for example, it kind of forces you to collect the hidden riddler trophies to get the true ending. I couldn't get that ending. I'm just saying this, maybe don't make it a requirement to collect everything to get that last achievement or to get that last bit of story. What do you guys think? Do you find it annoying when there's so much stuff to collect?
  17. I don't get EA. They had something great with their EA Sports Big franchises, from the likes of NBA Street, NFL Street, to one of my personal faves, SSX Tricky. I used to play the crap out of this game when it came out. I even remember staying home sick a few times, and I'd jump on some SSX Tricky and I'd forget about my cough or what was causing me problems that day. Anyway, EA did try to bring SSX back, but they modernized it and made it more realistic. I want my SSX Tricky with fun graphics and gameplay. Not some serious snowboarding game. I would love to see EA bring these sports games back, but they won't. If they did, expect them to monetize the shit out of it to the point it's like Madden or NBA 2K series. All they care for is money. I would give EA some props if they at least remastered the original SSX series. I'd buy that up in a heartbeat.
  18. I rarely pre-order anything these days. The only pre-order I do have, is for the upcoming Cyberpunk game, but that was because they put it on sale for $49.99, so I couldn't miss that. Now I just need to play the waiting game. Anyway, the last game I pre-ordered before that, was probably GTA V for the 360. Yes, back in 2013 was the last time I pre-ordered. I just never see the point in pre-ordering. Most of the time the extras you get for doing so aren't really worth it. I don't care about getting extra cosmetics or guns. I just want more story and DLC to be included. Or maybe some extra physical goodies to make the pre-order worth it. We really don't need to pre-order though, that's the thing. It is kind of pointless. It's not like most games will sell out. It's just the studios and stores wanting to get money as quickly as possible. Hell, some people don't even fully pay off their pre-orders. If I remember correctly, it's like $5 you have to put down to start a pre-order at a place like Gamestop. I heard that there are many people who put down that initial $5, and then don't pay anymore and some even forget they have that money. So Gamestop gets to keep that money. But yeah, just a small rant on pre-ordering. I don't see a point in it, unless you get physical extras in the package.
  19. I am only aware of the Razer brand of gaming phones, but I know there are other companies out there trying their hand at making them as well. What are some other good gaming phones worth checking out? The Razer Phone 2 from what I see is going for around $900 or so. I imagine the newer phones on the marker from Samsung and Apple are going to be able to play some games too.
  20. I installed DOSBOX on my current PC but haven't messed with it much since. There are a ton of old games I want to give a try one of these days, so here's hoping the ones I try all work.
  21. I never played it, but I wasn't really interested in ever playing it to begin with. At the time as well, I never owned a good quality PC anyway. Maybe if I had a good PC back in the day, I would have given it a try.
  22. This is interesting news if true. It looks like the prices for the Xbox Series X and Series S have been leaked. The price for the Series X is said to be $499, like many rumors previously stated. But, the Series S is more interesting, as it's only going to run you $299. This is a smart move on Microsoft, as the $299 console could be a hot seller. Source https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/xbox-series-x-price-release-date-report/
  23. Exactly. There's no way we're ever going to get to a point where we can play lag free. Hell standard games today still lag like crazy when gaming online. I get around 125 Mbps internet right now, but I imagine we'd need hundreds more just to run somewhat smooth, and even then it's not going to stop the input lag and game lag.
  24. Yeah, Amazon seems like a possibility. I would say Google as well, but Stadia has been quite a failure since release and I suspect it won't be around too much longer. But, who knows, Google can always try to throw their hat in the ring again. Or they may make Stadia worth it at some point. The downside to not releasing any hardware and just going with streaming, is that most ISPs can't 100% support it. Mine can I believe, but even so, it's not going to be a smooth experience. But, I am hopeful for streaming to take off. Hmm, never considered Razer, but they could easily build up a gaming machine. They make PCs, and have a gaming phone, so it's possible. I'd actually welcome that.
  25. There's been many companies to try their hand at making their own consoles, but in reality, most of them don't succeed. From Panasonic, Atari many times over, Apple trying and then moving on super fast. What company could you see making their own console? Could it maybe be Apple throwing their hat in the ring again? Or maybe a company like Facebook will jump in, or maybe Amazon. Amazon already has their own gaming studio, so it's possible we could see a console from them. What companies could you see making their own gaming console?
