I think you are spot on about how it's marketing. I guess it would be a mess for sales if they were all over the place not really giving people a 'strong point' to look for as consumers. 🤙

This game has really drawn me in. The beautiful Montana landscape is a nice bonus while fighting religious anti government cultists. But the theme itself is what really has pulled me in. I've tried to play this game in the past and stopped for some reason. That was a few years ago. I think in today's fucked up cult like world Americans are dealing with really feels like this theme hits home. Well, if you are in a cult, you may also enjoy playing this game to see how you crazies end up lol. I like how they have this chemical everywhere that puts people in a zombie like craze. And every now and then some ghost appears out of the blue. Weird, but cool. I'm not religious so this backdrop of churches and white picket fences in a beautiful serene place just feels all too.....creepy. Basically, a religious militant cult rebels against law enforcement and takes over the whole state going door to door killing everyone who doesn't conform to their cult. Bible and guns! Come Hell or High Water! Yes...yeehaw! Come get some! Kill a cultist! Bring the sanity back! I think I had to get that off my chest. Have fun ladies and gents

People can change. Question is, what does it take? Do you have to save their life? Do they need a near death experience? Do they need fear of prison? Do they need fear of losing something? Do they need humiliation? Do they need defeat? Do they need to surrender in war? Is it education? Love and family? Soberness? Do they need to move away and relocate somewhere else? Do they need to cut all ties? An intervention? Take their money and power? Do they need a mental health checkup? A medical checkup? How do you get a bigot to separate from their peers? That's the problem. Those people live in closed bubble tight knit communities, thinking alike, looking alike, believing alike, with constant bombardment of hate they are influenced by and that hate only grows, back and forth, and everyone they come into contact with. That is their society. A morally broken society which they can't even see the difference between sanity and insanity, fact and fiction. Conspiracy and paranoia is their water. Religious and anti government extremism is their food. Hate is their reproduction. And every one of their children born will be indoctrinated as a bigot as they are dunked under water baptized into a life of hate and ignorance. They never even had a chance to think for themselves. Just a lifetime of whispers in their ears telling them that everyone else that doesn't look like you, or believe what you do, or do what you do, is your enemy.

Survival horror remake fatique...
Reality vs Adventure replied to Knight Plug's topic in Video Games
Maybe in the case of RE8 they tried to add too much and branch out a bit. There is some serious scariness in simplicity like in RE7 it scared the holy mackerels out of me when the infected humans pop out and chase me. And that creepy old lady in the chair always having her head follow you. One thing all humans share is fear of other humans or a monster inside a human body. That messes me up. Other types of non human monsters may scare some people but not others. That's why adding an assortment of monsters is a gamble. Diverse monsters is good of course because it adds lore, but it's still a gamble. There is something so natural when we look at a person, we are left to the fear of our imaginations. That simplicity has created some of the best movies ever made as well as games. And that's a big reason why I love survival horror and psychological horror, with Bloober Team being my favorite. They definitely found their niche. If they branch out more mainstream, I still have confidence they would make some great games. Remaking games is gonna happen. It's a win win because we get to relive classics for a new generation and they get to profit using an old blueprint. That will never change. There is a lot of talent out there and I'm honestly impressed by many developers of all types of genres. It's just that they have to listen to where the market is and right now the apocalypse style games owns it. And I believe The Last of Us series has peaked that genre and set the standards so high that it may have intimidated that genre lol. I personally would love to see an Evil Within 3. I can't imagine how awesome that would be. Cool you mentioned Days Gone. I enjoyed that game and it really needs a sequel. There is a petition for Sony to make a Days Gone 2. There is a discussion about it here:- 6 replies

Proud boys are domestic terrorists in two countries and have been charged as traitors with seditious conspiracy convictions in the USA. You have the right to point and shoot. Time to kill the traitors. Is this a threat? The supreme court just decreased what constitutes as a threat in the Counterman v Colorado case. I'm free to go.

I want opinions on these games
Reality vs Adventure replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming Forum
My opinion is lost because I've tried many times playing it. I see the perfections. I see the brilliance. The rampant hunting me is a breaker. Fuckin hunt me when I try to do good. Fuck that. I get enough of that in life. I can't get over the hill in the game. It's not my time. It is not my time to play it. -

Assassins Creed 1,2,3- I wouldn't start playing AC1, just wait till they remake it. AC2 has a three part trilogy and AC3 actually is the 4th part that ends it. It's a matter of if you want to play in Venice and Florence (AC2) or in Rome (Brotherhood-sequel to AC2) or in Constantinople (Revelations- sequel to Brotherhood). AC3 is a really good one taking place in the revolutionary war. You could play AC3 w/o playing the others first. I enjoyed the combat and the story. Mortal Kombat 11- I just started playing and I'm enjoying it. There is a storyline that so far looks bad ass. Then you get to bust out in a fight and test your skills. I've forgotten a lot of the lore and characters over the years, but definitely something I wouldn't mind looking back on previous games and learn more. RDR2 ???- Whua??? Cmon, you love that game!!! 😆 God of War 2018- I thought the game was pretty good and the fighting and lore was good too. It definitely lives up to its name. There is new gear customization which the previous games didn't have. There are different realms to visit offering different sites. FFX- Excellent game!!! The story is great, the turn based fighting is excellent!!! I really enjoyed the challenges using everything you had and what your allies have to strategize and defeat enemies. It's pretty awesome. It was my very first turn based game and it is something I'll never forget, unless I get dementia. 🤣 Bloodborne- It's difficult, but the dark Victorian lore is amazing. It gets addicting because it brings out the determination to progress. And you get so far only to die and have to go through that area all over again. That's what sucks, and you lose all your coin every time you die. So the strategy is to go fight, earn some coin, then go and spend it before you die. But then you still have to do it all over again because you have to leave the area to spend your coin. I haven't beat it. It's on my list of, I'll finish one day games. -
The bible has been returned to the school shelves in Utah after the original decision was appealed. So that really does mean that 'laws are for you and not for me' which conservatives has 100% proven their hypocrisy. It's perfectly ok for a book to have incest, porn, and explicit content. Tell me again why they are banning books? Because it's not due to porn after all.

Favorite Games From Summer Game Fest 2023
Reality vs Adventure replied to killamch89's topic in Gaming Forum
Both those games look awesome! I am super impressed by Starfield. Looks like that one has a massive world to explore. Bet it gets many awards. For me, it is a must play but unfortunately it is an Xbox exclusive and PC and I don't have an Xbox. -
I'm downloading Mortal Kombat 11 right now. I'm able to fight matches before it finishes downloading and so far looks pretty good. You only got 2 losses? You are whooping it!

That gave me a good laugh. Actually looks like a fun game. Who would have ever thought to give a squirrel a gun? Especially that uzi...lol

Is there really a standard for a genre these days? I actually think we are heading towards a blend of genres. Only a decade from now can they define the new genres. Today, I’d say pointless shooters are a no to me. Sports too have no substance or does it? Sports with a story should be the future of sports genre. Human intervention and emotion will always change genre. We always want something more. Classic gamers stand strong with classics and I always go back to it because it holds up forever. But games and genres will evolve. And when that happens, the classic gamers always make a come back too. It’s like we drift so far as we possibly can, only to wonder back home to the classics. Let the genres evolve. Combine what you love in games no matter if you want GTA mixed with RDR in one game. It will probably be something badass. If you look it up, GTA and RDR actually do fall under similar genres. But how can that be? It’s worlds apart. Throw in 1 elf and you have fantasy. Shit, imagine driving through los santos and see a dragon hovering over the streets. Now that is what I want. Fuck the genres.

Well guess what. Looks like republican religious fanatics are getting a taste of their own medicine. The Davis School District in Utah has banned the bible in elementary and middle schools due to vulgar content, porn and violence that is not appropriate for kids under their new book ban laws. I'm very surprised that Utah of all places would even be honest and fair about this since the state is a huge Mormon christian state. This makes perfect sense though that if you want to go around banning books then the Bible should also be banned based on the same principle of age inappropriate content. This just unraveled the entire christian plan of forcing religion into public schools. Oops! Looks like that backfired. So now in all fairness, is the bible going to be banned in every state that bans books? Well, it should be challenged in all those states. So when republicans that have banned books decide not to include the Bible ban in their state, then that shows none of this really had anything to do with kids at all, but really was just a religious issue. But again, I'm very surprised Utah of all places banned the bible. https://www.sltrib.com/news/education/2023/06/01/bible-is-banned-these-utah/ In the USA, before the book bans, bibles were allowed in all public school libraries. But it is unconstitutional to force anyone to read the bible or to preach the bible. You can't even force anyone in prayer or pray in the classroom. But Texas made a new law saying teachers and students can pray right there in the classroom in front of other students. Texas even forced all schools in the state to hang a giant sized poser of the Bible's 10 Commandments in all classrooms. Also, any religious donations with 'In God We Trust' slogan is required to be publicly displayed in the school. Which means religious groups can donate a million posters or flags saying that religious phrase and it would have to be publicly displayed for all to see. Crazy goons. Who is indoctrinating who again???

Just imagine everything you know and love about a game that could be developed in an alternate universe. The genre changing, and that could have such a huge impact. For examples: Think about Bloodborne in an open world where you can climb the buildings. Imagine assassins creed as a fantasy where it’s basically assassins creed mixed with Skyrim where AC Valhalla now has Ragnar skeletons and dragons roaming the world. Cmon. What’s not to love. What is your game you want an overhaul to a different genre? A shooter now a hack and slash; say what? I’m fucked up

Don't know what to say. I hope she got to say goodbye to her mother in person.

Excellent how you said that in one sentence. I haven't finished the series yet. I'm in season 4 and this really is my favorite tv series of all time. My mind is blown man. It's gone off the cliffs into the wind. It's all too brilliant.

Open world games and enemy variety problems
Reality vs Adventure replied to Scottypops's topic in Gaming Forum
Depends on the genre because open worlds that are not fantasy would be hard to make a variety of enemies. You could have different factions, but the only thing to really tell them apart is their uniform or weapons. I think what the real issue is that there aren't enough Fantasy open world games. If there were, then no doubt developers would have the initiative to compete and create a wider variety of enemies. Skyrim seems to be a stand alone of its generation with little to compete with. Witcher 3 and Final Fantasy 15 has a decent variety. -
That’s just terrible. Did she make it to see her mom yet? My heart goes out to your family. They caught him alive about 15 miles on the opposite direction where I was. Idiot went to a house of someone he knew. Just one week after this one in Texas, there was another mass shooting at a mall in Texas. Fucking Texas schools now have Winnie the Pooh books to train kids in school shootings. They have the bear stick his head in honey and be still. What the serious fuck?

Here I am again really struggling on what game I want to play. I’ve been uploading games and deleting games on a regular basis. Trying to find what really pulls me in. Then there is the perfection anxiety where I know some games are so intense or beautiful that I may feel intimidated by it. I want to savior it. I want the moment to be perfect before I start playing and that moment is never. It’s like life, I should jump in there and live it. But I can’t because I make excuses. Eeny meeny miny moe. I’m not sure what I’m looking for. I have bad ass games installed. But what is it? I went full out on Nintendo a couple days ago. And the simplicity is fun. It’s not simple though, just not overwhelming either. I just don’t want so complex, don’t want so easy, don’t want too much brain, or too little brain. I don’t want so much overwhelming beauty because Illl get stuck in photo mode. I just want to play. Something ugly. And the darkness has arisen around me bwaaahahaha. Horror it is. Yes, a good horror. But there are none. Nothing scary out there. Nothing at all. What’s my idea of scary? Well, I don’t want scary anymore. I want fantasy with dragons and magic. All the fantasy, yes that’s what I want. Ok, putting in the disc. Oh shit, I don’t want fantasy anymore. I want to drive and run people over. Jam to music in my car in GTA or Saints Row; I want to talk to an elf and make love to a cyber woman. I want to be someone. I don’t want to be anyone. Eeny meeny miny fucking moe.

That's the first time I heard that phrase, but I looked it up and it means: Wiktionary def: (Internet slang, sarcastic) A notional political party supported by people who ignore or downplay its cruel, unjust, or extreme policies and rhetoric, and are then shocked or displeased when these policies and rhetoric have adverse consequences to themselves. "'I never thought leopards would eat MY face,' sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party." @NightmareFarm nailed this one!
