💙like 💙like 💙like That's 3 more likes That's cool about the night witches! Having to fly in those dinky planes and turn the engine off; damn!!! And I haven't even thought about the ninjas and their role during feudal Japan. It's interesting that most actually came from the lower class. So status wasn't important to them. They did their job as an assassin, saboteur, spy, and kept what they did secret. They never wanted credit or anything like that. And if caught, they would take their own life. It was funny at the beginning of Ghost of Tsushima (no spoilers) the samurai despised thieves and people that would hide around or stalk the night. If you play the game you will see how that relates to this. I agree that there are so many battle tactics that need stealth over face to face combat. One that comes to mind was the powerful British against American revolutionaries who would ambush the British as they stood out in the open in formation. That would have been terrifying standing there taking shots and watching your comrads fall before your eyes. And not be able to do anything but load your damn weapon. Even though the samurai honor seems so justified, so too is stealth which may be even more justified. But even that at times has its controversy because what is used for good, also is used for bad.

"Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?" I have in Valhalla fighting my first beast under the stars, moonlight, and northern lights. I feel a beast awakening in me. I feel my ancient ancestors crying within. Crying to break free and dance under the pale moonlight. I fight this beast. But who am I to say who the beast is? I think I'm one now. Roooaaaarrrrr!!! Now back to my battle.

I wonder why other games haven't thought about the code thing. I mean, mild nudity should be allowed, but I would pay to have some porn thrown in there. LOL. That would be pretty awesome. Nothing crazy that you wouldn't see in a late night HBO movie. That would probably rake in big bucks. And if it offends someone, play without it. You don't happen to have the code do you? 😇Jokes aside, I want that game. And today is my birthday. I'm debating what to get!!!

CD Project Red Hack Leaves Devs Unable to Work For Weeks
Reality vs Adventure replied to killamch89's topic in Gaming News
That's pretty bad that happened. I wonder if Cyberpunk didn't get so much publicity and hype, after announcing it for years, then a rushed f$$k up, and potential lawsuits, etc. would hackers have targeted them? CD Project Red left themselves in a vulnerable and desperate situation. I think that enticed hackers. That's some interesting news. Hope to be able to play my game some time this year. But I hope in these circumstances, they don't begin to rush again. Believe me, I can wait for a working game. At least this Christmas, all I have to do is stuff the game in a stocking and hang it on the fireplace and leave some cookies out to surprise Santa with last year's gift. -
I like both these two types of games; I've played AC the most and only just started GoT the other night. I don't mean to throw GoT in the same soup bowl as AC, but am merely trying to compare the principles of the assassin in AC and that of a samurai in GoT. I am discovering there is actually a lot behind the creed to AC games. They aren't just a hired assassin. Much much more to it than that. What they stand for and what the samurai stand for can be seen as being the same, yet different in how they want to achieve their goal: to fight and protect. As I alternately play these games, it is interesting to have my mindset change; the way of the assassin or the way of the warrior. Are they going to overlap in philosophy?

That looks like a cool game! I've never heard of it. Sure wouldn't mind giving it a try. Who or what did you shake down to find this one??? 😎

Games with the most responsibility
Reality vs Adventure replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming Forum
RDR2 is probably the game with the most responsibilities. You forgot even having to polish the weapons. And your hunted carcass can rot if it stays out too long. Games that require you to maintain a friendly and calm group is a big responsibility. First game I ever played like that was The Thing on ps2. You always had to keep checking on their status to make sure they are too scared and do something stupid. Working with a squad in a military game is challenging. And I hate fixing weapons in any game. -
I am a big fan of Assassin’s Creed and recently started playing Ghost of Tsushima. Even though I just started the game and haven’t fully grasped its message yet, but the beginning of the story talks of samurai honor. And playing both different yet similar games, I am finding it very interesting about the creed the assassins follow in AC and the principles a samurai follows in GOT. There are some clear differences, and yet the honor vs creed I see coinciding. The creed the assassins follow in AC is to kill those that are corrupt or create peace to protect the people and never hurt the innocent civilians. Also to reach a state of peace within oneself. The insignia in the AC games represents courage and honor. The principles the samurai follows are to fight for those that can’t fight for themselves, always have honor, and have self discipline or control your emotions. So both have similar principles, but a different way of achieving it. Honor becomes contradictory because the assassin will kill without being seen, while the samurai will fight face to face. But is it so important to risk your mission just to fight face to face? Is not other lives more important than having that sense of honor? Is an assassin honorable to kill for a greater peace? Even a viking warrior in AC Valhalla, who sees honor in fighting face to face, has admitted to assassinate for peace may be acceptable. And the samurai in Ghost of Tsushima at these beginning stages of the game, may seem foolish to go out in open battle just for pride or honor when others depend on your life. So I see contradictory in both the assassin and samurai. What are your thoughts on this? Do you prefer the way of an assassin or a samurai? What are your thoughts on the contradictions between these two warrior types and the principles they follow?

What could improve about current game graphics?
Reality vs Adventure replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I was looking at the Final Fantasy 7 remake for the ps5, and the movement of characters had that soap opera effect. I usually don't like that in shows, but it looked really good in the video game. So maybe the motion of characters, background, in newer systems will make the older one seem outdated. Maybe it will fix that 'headache' we get when moving the character around a lot. -
All The Light Has Gone From The World
Reality vs Adventure replied to The Blackangel's topic in General Chat
You have been missed here. I'm yanking my hair out cause I need a dose of your lovely personality!!! 😀 Well, there is fear ahead for me because I know the day will eventually come where my babies will all age at once. I am preparing my mindset for the suffering. No matter how pissed and hurt I know I'll get, I can't deny the joy and all the love my babies give me. Take this heart and kick it. I know life will do that to me. It always has. But what joy will there ever have been without ever having any babies? So take this heart and kick it again. Cause maybe I'm stupid enough to keep testing my heart with every pet I own. -
Anyone enjoys playing Ghost of Tsushima?
Reality vs Adventure replied to hardcoregamer's topic in Playstation
Just started playing the game tonight. It is awesome!!! It even has the best photo mode in any game ever. All you have to do is hit the right arrow button and the photo mode comes up with all sorts of options like weather effects, music, wind speed, leaves falling; you name it. Nice gem of a game! -
I always found that to be pretty cool to learn the origins of characters in comic book series. I don't know many games like that, but it is definitely something I like. Many times games just jump right into it, and you really don't know much about the character. But if a later game goes and touches on the origins of them, it is usually pretty fun and interesting. Books do that a lot, as well as comics, and it is always one of those aahaa moments. But I think the origins usually mean more when you already have a connection to the characters. It would go great to start off learning the characters first, and build the story from there. But for me, it won't have such a strong impact if I didn't know squat about them. Unless it was very interesting of course. But once I already have that connection, it is a refreshing treat to go back and learn what shaped who they are.

I have to say that schools should tread with caution when using video games to teach history. In a dandy world, that is a dandy good idea. But in America, we have the 1619 Project, which teaches history of blacks and slavery; which was recently under attack by trump and republicans trying to whitewash history with the 1776 Commission to replace it because they hate blacks in every form and fashion. So when the door opens to a game like RDR2 to teach history, also opens the door to the game Ethnic Cleansing in some small rural white supremacist town. But that's not to say those supremacist punks aren't already watching movies and doing assignments that are geared towards hating blacks. So what impact has that had? I don't know except that our democracy almost fell a month ago. So I ask again, what impact has that had on children over the years??? And when the door is opened to video games, well---that directs attention to a target audience of schools by the white supremacists to develop more games to suit their hating needs. When one side does it, the other will too. And I don't even know what side RDR2 fits on. Maybe there is actual history there without prejudice dialect against blacks. As if we really need any more of that. Assassins Creed is loaded with history; why not that? But then again the game is about assassins, which republicans are getting arrested left and right threatening and attempting to kill politicians. So what is a safe history video game in schools? Just the basics with bambi and bunnies. This is not a fine and dandy country anymore. I think this topic is more political then gaming news. That's why I went all political on it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

What is happening with Dying Light 2?
Reality vs Adventure replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Video Games
There is a lot more going on than just Covid issues at Techland. Recent months they have had a huge turnover rate from toxic management as sexism, homophobia, and a so called ‘authoritative’ as they call it. The CEO hired his wife for HR with no prior experience, and she is the only female board member at Techland. And they demean ideas from their own team, which directly relates to the development of the game as well as its release. And this comes from employees who are speaking out about how the CEO is pretty much fucking everything up and bringing toxicity and incompetence in the workplace. Really is sad to hear that coming from such an anticipated game for me. The first Dying Light is one of my favorite games. And now it really sickens me too that employees are going through this to make a fun game for us. Shouldn’t be like this. Not at Techland and not at any company. And especially not in government either. This becoming all too familiar as there really is widespread incompetence going on these days. -

What is going on? Is it the cold? Well, I feel for you and was hoping to hear from you soon. I personally don't handle things like that too well. I haven't had much of a family growing up, so my pets are something extra special. And I think you may have a similar outlook. Hope things get better for you real soon. -
I've been excited for the sequel to be released...but now it's over a year later? The release is indefinite now due to a toxic work environment from the top at Techland studio, which seems to be directly impacting the game as well as its release. https://www.theverge.com/2021/2/23/22297445/dying-light-2-techland-hostile-work-culture-report-thegamer A more detailed report is here; long read. https://www.thegamer.com/techland-report-bleeding-talent-autocratic-management-bad-feedback/

I don't think he is a jerk in Witcher 3. There are many times when he has shown to have high morality. Plus everywhere he goes, the townsfolk are racist towards him. I think maybe he does have some womanizing traits, but I haven't played Witcher 1 & 2. In Witcher 3 he is struggling with relationships. But a witcher is infertile, so I can see how his love life may be a bit confusing. And maybe that itself leaves him to steer from love as he is known to have been with many women. I haven't seen how he has been flat out disrespectful to women. Maybe they cleaned his act in the latest game?

There are 7 billion humans. Some smart, some stupid, but how many are an actual genius? Think about all the things humans have created through our history. We have developed magnificent architecture when we didn't have all the modern technology. We have traveled to outer space and can communicate with anyone anywhere in an instant. From vehicles to designs on little pieces of jewelry. Paintings, sculptures, weapons, electricity; medication, medical tech, ships, and skyscrapers. 'We' are brilliant. But how many are 'we'? If I even think about how a person made a pair of shoes, I'm at a loss; or even my coat or jeans. I can forget about trying to build a cabin in the woods, or even make a bow and arrow. Is it only a small number of humans that give humanity an intelligent name? How many people do you know that creates things? What percent or how many of humans do you think puts our species on the intelligent list? I would say only a few thousand out of 7 billion.
