Reality vs Adventure

I don't believe that, but anything is possible after witnessing a whole political party weaponizing and/or completely intentionally disregarding the threat and safety of the greatest pandemic we've seen in our life time.

ps2 The Suffering-one of my favorite horror games. He's in prison for the murder of his family and struggles because he doesn't see how he could of done it as he can't remember. The prison gets over run by monsters. He has the ability of 'rage' where he just loses control and turns into a monster for a short period and goes ballistic on other monsters. That ability itself is a symbol of his mental state, or any of our mental state in a situation like that. As he progresses he tries to keep his head straight. He holds onto a picture of his family through it all. This game really should be remastered or something.

I gotcha; I didn't know it was called cloud gaming as @Patrick already mentioned. Guess we all are fearing that.

What I fear is having to pay different subscriptions to be able to play games from different platforms. And each platform breaking away further and further apart offering only exclusive games for their own platform. All the while everything moving to online based, leaving very little choice. I don't like how PC always has games available not on other platforms. Who's gonna stop those other platforms to form a contract with developers to only make the game available to their console? This is the direction cable tv has taken.

It's a time for new beginnings. We had our time to criticize trump. Now all we can do is uphold the law. And trump no longer can hide behind the WH. So let them investigate his taxes or whatever else and have our courts handle it. The shit show is over.

Systemic problems can't change if you don't tackle the system. Individualism doesn't matter in a toxic system.

I don't trust technology. I have a second ps4 for backup; currently one console is in the shop; I have multiple media for save data. I've lost confidence in the ps4. Ps3 has held up more.

Fair enough. The problem has always been there; I get that. But it is currently exasperated to the point of becoming a global mental health issue across the world. I believe toxic masculinity stems directly from the rise of authoritarianism. So toxic masculinity is a systemic problem. I don’t care about my own gender if my kind is doing harm. I don’t care about my own race, if my kind is doing harm. I don’t care about my own religion, if my kind is doing harm.

Which read do you recommend for me to start with? I love a good read. Sometimes reading makes up for what games can't do. Bring your imagination to maximum.

While everyone said good things at the inauguration, I want to emphasize this young heart that believes in democracy and represents the 'target' of the single most threat to those that want to destroy it; a young black woman with a voice and talent. This day breaks all barriers. Carry the flag.

Are the Tropico or Civilization games any good?

I've never bought a DLC as I've gotten games with some already included. As of now, the only DLC I consider getting is the Freedom Cry from AC Black Flag. That just might be my first.

I think movement in the background/foreground from leaves falling, water moving, things moving in the breeze, birds flying, villagers going about their business, etc. brings everything alive. Graphic's make those things pleasing to see in more detail. And the greater the detail for me, the better. I not only play to play, but also play to take in the sights. I have that eye for detail as I used to draw, so seeing amazing details created for games is pretty awesome. I can't imagine how hard some of that stuff is to do, and then animate it.

I don't see many on that list for playstation. Ghostwire does look cool!

Sometimes as I progress and get really good in a game I change it to a harder setting. It also helps immersion in open worlds by taking away corner maps and points of interest. But that for me is only in exploration mode. There is no way to play some of the bigger games without a guide. Maybe it's possible if you get familiar with your surroundings.

24 hours till freedom. This is gonna be like a 24 tv series episode trying to save the president's inauguration from terrorism.

I like when AI continues an action even if you leave the scene. Like if an animal attacks someone or a group and you flee, then watch all the chaos from somewhere else as they continue till one side dies. Also I like it when villagers interact with you and keep on interacting with their environment regardless if you are present or not. Bad AI is when someone guarding something and standing in a corner facing the wall as if he is looking out to sea or something.

That's a good point. I did see a lot of trekking in another video. But they also did show horseback riding too. For this game, they definitely would need some great movement mechanics.

I actually get along better with males and females from other countries. The friendship is always instantaneous. And ironically their social hierarchy is just as sexist, but the people themselves aren't bent on having to prove anything. And they are usually fairly innocent in their mannerisms. So I compare that to people in the USA, and I just feel I don't belong in this country personality wise. But if I had the choice to hang out with a male vs female, it would be a female 100% of the time. America is a toxic male wasteland. And game developers see that as a large part of their market. I do think it's changing though to be less gender specific as more and more people break away from the Toxic Male Syndrome. Ironically, I'm probably the most toxic here on VGR, and that is a reflection of my society in the USA; reaching out in a desperate plea.

Even though many games may not be gender specific, parents usually are and so they will buy little Timmy Call of Duty for Christmas and get little Dorothy Sims. They could always share the game as siblings because kids just want to have fun and are usually open to any game. But the lone child will suffer the whelm of their gender specific parents. Peers that have those biased parents will also influence children. We are still living in a generational divide that starts with baby boomers, who had kids (generation X), and now have millennium grandkids that can really do without the older generation biases. We really need a purge like in Children of the Corn and just eliminate older generational poison. I'd be happy to go and live on an island; no need to pitch fork me. But those millennials are the best bet to raise kids in a less gender specific environment since they are further away from the baby boomers. And the toxic male society today, we all see how destructive and incompetent males are. Is a male sexist against males a real thing? It is now. All the males are letting the world down with their complete stupidity and irresponsibilities. I'm sick of it. The more females in positions of power the better. I can't even stand playing a male in most video games; some are an exception. The more games have characterization, we will see children make up their own minds who they would rather play. And to shop in digital stores and save games they want in a cart for their parents to see around the holiday, they will be surprised at how many non gender specific games they want. But I would say it is hard to tell if gaming has helped gender socialization because you have to eliminate outside influences first to see if any real progress took place, which was ultimately countered by their parents.

I just came across Freedom Cry DLC for Black Flag. Has anyone played it?

That is true, and funny thing is that I thought the opposite of gamers because in my teen years the ones who played games that I knew were tokers and drunkins, thuggish types, yet popular at school. So as I got older I usually thought of gamers as that. Then in my adult years when I started gaming, I said yep, I got the drunkin part right. LOL. But bs aside, anyone could be a gamer. And youtube videos I see from gamers are just regular people having found something they enjoy. There are those that stigmatize gamers too and make it political. They say a gamer is a loser weak liberal living with mama. They try to get that popular opinion out there trying to hurt the reputation of liberals but actually hurting the reputation of gamers. So that I believe is a big reason for why many hate to play games; not that it's the gaming itself they hate, but their politically biased view of people they think play them.

They have it on Steam, but they need it for ps4-ps5. I think it looks awesome.
