  1. Scenery/setting User friendly gameplay Unique characterization/gear Story Innovation/perks/activities
  2. Right, and what happens is something I call out of touch syndrome where they do that cast to cast only to feed the haters and hurt the vulnerable.
  3. There are a lot of things, but I'd love to travel the world, the most hard reaching places, and absorb culture in busy cities; see all the museums, castles, ruins, volcanoes, underwater reefs. Or, if technology becomes advanced like the Animus in Assassin's Creed and be able to see the memory from their DNA, I'd go into the mind of someone from the past and see how life was back then.
  4. I'm having a hard time understanding what a retcon is even after looking it up.
  5. You nailed it with A Plague Tale. It was refreshing to go through the troubles without so much weapons and violence. Another I'd say is the Layers of Fear series. There is no blood, no violence or weapons. And it was the best horror series I've played. I do have to say though, I love the violence in games like Saints Row and GTA. It's, how should I put it, awesome. I'm not too big on shooters and I think starting off playing video games a few years back I did get bored with violence. Then I started playing games that have more exploration and scenery. And recently I played back to back a couple military games and it was very refreshing. Violence refreshing??? Yes it was because it had a cause. Oops, forgot there are bad causes too. I notice I go through cycles in gaming. A few weeks I'll go on a violent spree, then the next few weeks are more exploration type, then I go on a horror rampage. If the violence is funny like Saints Row 3 I'm playing, I don't see myself ever getting tired of it. It's happy time.
  6. Not many games feature a trans character let alone a real trans actor playing the part. Elliot Page is the only one I know of, but was Jody a trans in the game? And I didn't know Lev was played by a real trans character. Man, if developers thought it may be controversial before, it's sure as hell controversial now since people want to make enemies of the trans population. Even in TLOU2 Lev still struggled with it in the apocalypse. And people want to make it seem like anything to do with trans is bad for kids. So where does that leave video games? Books are getting banned and cartoons getting attacked. Video games are next if developers add trans characters in games. So we have to stand up for these freedoms. And to hell for people that don't like it. Granted, games shouldn't shove things in our face just to act like they bring a bit of diversity, making it seem half assed, forced, and offensive rather than bringing new acceptance. I've gone on a bit of rant and don't mean to take this to the ugly docks. But I'm pissed. I'm ashamed of people who hate others they don't relate to or understand. And they have it bad right now and deserve our sympathies. Nice topic though @StaceyPowers.
  7. I think it would be easier to have the movie take place in Rapture rather than in the sky as in Infinite. They could make it really wacky horror in a good way because all the villains were so crazy. It could easily become action oriented with good picture, then completely neglect the plot. Probably end up confusing it. I think it's a lot to take in the setting and can't really be done well in a two hour movie. Maybe a series.
  8. I game on ps3 and ps4. TLOU made me choose the ps3 and ps4.
  9. What I don't understand is why everyone realizes there is an addiction problem and sees a parent trying to get help needed, but when the WHO labels 'gaming disorder' a disease on another thread then you have the urge to resist it when the problem is being recognized and being made aware of on a global scale.
  10. Exactly, everything. Stretch the mind
  11. I implore everyone to be creative.
  12. Demons of Ruby Mae I want to make love to this song while I kill oppressors. How can a beautiful tune be mixed in chaos? Isn't that what we do? We can be oppressed, enslaved, killed, and they can never take away who we are. Our sanity. Our love. They can torture, they can annihilate, but you can't erase our morality. You can falter as a society, but we will bring it back. And we will recognize those who let the falter happen. No matter what you do, you can't change the fate of your failure. We will always survive and you won't. And we will pay it back.
  13. Smell my blood Sekhmet and destroy humans. They deserve it. Wipe them out. Who will be left to worship me? Oh Ra, why do you feel the need to be worshipped? Why do Gods feel the need to be worshipped? I want to worship you. I seriously want to believe, but the Gods are all over the fucking place. Who is true? I stand with the Gods who don't want Earth to be destroyed, yet I stand with Gods who have reason to annihilate humanity.
  14. Is there any defense against God control? Democracy is worship of human rights. Enlighten me where a God respects human sovereignty.
  15. Which God of war will protect me. What God protects them? What ancient God is still strong? Are you dead? Norse believes you can die. Do you die? Give me a sign of what to follow. Don't manipulate me. Give me truth. Oh shit. Truth. Aletheia. Bring transparency. I kneel to truth. I kneel to Aletheia. I don't know you yet. Give me wisdom to understand what truth is.
  16. AC Odyssey Atlantis AC Origins I think Odyssey just broke my mind
  17. Is it wrong if a person believes in different Gods from different cultures from different time periods? Is everything one way or the highway? Are all the Gods related in each religion, making it impossible to believe in others? Do all religions have a God that created all, making it impossible to believe in others?
  18. Exactly, all we ever see is the bad in the world. But the WHO's job isn't to report on what country has the best lovers.
  19. Humans will go down having the shortest existence before extinction than any other animal. It's because we are parasites that destroy our own home and each other.
  20. That's a good point to make. Thinking on that, why isn't Kratos called Ares instead? That makes me a little confused why Ares has little role in it. Who exactly was Kratos? Looks like there is a Kratos God in both Greek and Norse religion. Ares is God of war and Kratos is God of strength. Maybe they naturally oppose each other or should be allies. Norse God of war- Odin Roman God of war- Mars What would make a God of war powerful? Because someone has to lose. How would you favor a war God? And when two different civilizations are at war, which God would decide the fate? Would it become a war of the Gods at that point? I should put down my sword and walk away and let them box it out. But that would weaken my war God. So fight we must.
  21. This is an open discussion topic and could either be informative, fascination of their portrayal in video games, or just anything you can think of or come across. Since this is a gaming site and the only thing I know about this topic I have come across in games, then I would like your ideas you came across from games you played as well as the real world. I just thought things can get hairy so I posted in debate. Some ideas would be Greek gods, Egyptian, Norse, Japanese, etc. Have fun with it. Compare, find similarities, be informative or don't. Come across any in games? How are they portrayed? Ever study in real life? This might be too broad of a topic. I'll see how it goes and maybe narrow down each religion in different topics if the need arises. My own experience, well I don't have any except for games like Assassin's Creed and God of War. I recently came across the Egyptian God Amun in AC Origins. I found it to fit perfectly in the AC franchise because the God means 'the hidden' or 'hidden one' being god of the air. Now think about the whole AC franchise and the first assassins 'the hidden ones' and how Amun goes perfectly with it as assassins have to be invisible. But that is just an example, and a damn good one. So no offense meant towards ancient Gods, but I just want to show how some games have sparked my interest to learn more. I'm not a religious type, but I do have a fascination with the ancients.
  22. That's the first I've seen anything about Stray. Looks fun.
  23. You are probably right for the most part. I watched a video recently and that mythological stuff caught my attention. I knew it was a strange game, but this looks like the strange I can get into.
  24. I don't think they are trying to attack gamers, they are bringing awareness to a problem some people have. It's no different saying some people have a eating disorder. They aren't attacking people for eating or not eating food, but some people do have a problem. That doesn't mean you will go throw up after tonight's dinner, unless it's slimy snails in chocolate blood sauce.
