  1. In Tennessee, it wasn’t until 2018 where they finally put a ban on child marriage, and nationally gay marriage was legalized in 2015 in all states. So this new bill HB 0233 introduced in 2022 by republicans in Tennessee targets gay marriage by trying to change the process of getting married and not recognizing gay marriages or gay marriage benefits. The bill also reinstates child marriage. Geez, it’s only been 4 years since they had a ban on child marriage and now they want it back? As far as gay marriage, these republicans want to state sanction those the right to deny performing same sex marriages. And they want to completely change how straight marriages work by allowing only straight couples get married without a license through common law or using pastors, who obviously won’t marry a gay couple. And over time that will weed out licenses of gay marriage as well as any tax benefits of marriage. This article explains the scheme better than I can. I have a hard time wrapping my head over this kind of stupid. https://www.salon.com/2022/04/06/tennessees-child-marriage-bill-pushes-another-purpose-gutting-same-marriage/
  2. Is this real? Not yet. The warehouse in Staten Island New York voted and won the unionization of the warehouse. Amazon is against unionization and has done much to prevent this. They are also going to file an objection to the vote and probably end up re-voting to allow Amazon pull a republican trick and suppress it. But for now, New York is the first ever Amazon warehouse to unionize. Benefits of labor unions: A labor union enables us to exercise the right of collective bargaining: with a union we can negotiate our wages, benefits, and working conditions for the first time at Amazon. A union also offers protection, democratic decision-making, and mutual support and solidarity. Way to go New York! https://www.amazonlaborunion.org
  3. Those scalpers really aggravated the problem. They are sitting on gold now, but who will buy? The shortage will probably keep the prices high even in the future. It's estimated the chip shortage and ps5 shortage will get back on track in 2023. But I haven't seen anything change in the world. Has anyone else? Is there a new factory producing neon? Chip companies say they have up to 6 months of neon in reserve. What happens when that runs out? China has companies that produce neon and has already jacked up its prices. https://www.vox.com/recode/22983468/neon-shortage-chips-semiconductors-russia-ukraine
  4. That’s creepy! I’d jump through the window and never look back. Actually I would look back to make sure I’m not chased.
  5. I came across this today, the fatal violence of transgender since 2015-2021. https://www.hrc.org/resources/fatal-violence-against-the-transgender-and-gender-non-conforming-community-in-2021 Here's a run down of fatal violent murders against transgender in the U.S. 2021 was a record number with the most deaths. And this doesn't include non lethal attacks or any lethal/nonlethal attacks against others in the LGBTQ community. transgender/gender non-conforming: 2015-21 fatalities 2016-21 fatalities 2017-25 fatalities 2018-22 fatalities 2019-25 fatalities 2020-37 fatalities 2021-57 fatalities And since 2022 is the year republicans have clamped down on their hate, it might set a new record. So we will see how their discriminate bills correlate with violence for 2022.
  6. I'm going to tie in Florida's Don't Say Gay bill to this topic. Also known as 'Parental Rights in Education.' How is this 'parental rights,' when banning gender affirming care for transgender isn't a parental rights issue? The Don't Say Gay bill bans any talk of sexual orientation or gender identity from kindergarten to third grade. Fox News reporter, who is well known now for being an idiot, asks Jen Psaki House Speaker this question: “Does the White House support that kind of classroom instruction before kindergarten?” And Psaki answers: “Do you have examples of schools in Florida that are teaching kindergarteners about sex education?” “I think that’s a relevant question because the law is nothing more than a “politically charged, harsh law that is putting parents and LGBTQ+ kids in a very difficult, heartbreaking circumstance.” The wording in that new bill is now open for debate because it's too open to interpret, which most bills republicans pass have the intention of doing. Leave it open so as to try and not violate the constitution, meanwhile confusing everyone and inciting paranoia of risk losing their jobs. A teacher in Florida shared this with Moms For Liberty to show how ridiculous this new bill can get in Florida schools:
  7. Just to clear things up, party politics in this country is so interconnected since the American Revolution, that you really can't claim anything from our past is the same as the present. Party politics began with the anti federalists which is where republicans began. Some say that 1854 is the official republican party, but too many things overlap since the revolution. Too many things change so much. Lincoln also created the National Union Party which was a combination of republicans and democrats with a democratic vice president.
  8. That's exactly the irony. George Washington didn't want party politics but he supported the Federalists. Anti federalists also called Jeffersonian republicans, also called democratic-republicans opposed the original constitution because it lacked the bill of rights and they were opposed of the three-fifths compromise with slavery. So it gets even more ironic that the new constitution that Jefferson made, didn't do anything about slavery.
  9. If you want to discuss this on another thread, I wouldn't mind since it's off topic. But I do have to point out a bit of irony that if Lincoln was republican during the civil war, then why is it that today's republicans wave confederate flags everywhere.
  10. I wouldn’t want that on my conscious either. Never know what owners would do. You would think you are selling a rabbit as a pet, but some people want to eat them. Nuh uh. They can go hunt instead.
  11. Lincoln is no way shape, form, or species what a republican is today. Republicans and democrats and the whigs had entirely different political beliefs back then. Even the American Revolution was led by the Federalist Party and the anti federalists formed the democratic-republican party also called Jeffersonian republicans. So to infer today’s republican as the savior of slavery, would also infer todays republican as those who were against the Federalists and the new government and constitution in the American Revolution. So Lincoln holds no relevance to today’s republican.
  12. 😂Those rascals! I know what you mean. It’s easy to miss one while separating them. That’s how it is with rabbits too. I had 30 rabbits at one point.
  13. It depends on the game. Ones where I get to explore the countryside, I explore one region at a time so I get familiar with the land to satisfy my inner compass. Driving games I let it take me wherever the quest takes me because the streets are a maze so it's harder to satisfy that inner compass. Red Dead Redemption I've been playing, I go back and forth on my horse letting quests take me wherever. Something like Assassin's Creed, I don't like getting pushed out into the map. RDR and AC is a good comparison because RDR has more immediate quests and AC is usually do at your own pace quests.
  14. They are remaking Saints Row 1 and getting released in August this year. That's a game I'm excited for. I'm having a blast with SR2. Seems like every time I play there is something new to discover. Fun at its finest. That's the first and only game in the series I've played, but I do have 3 and 4. I'm gonna play through 2, then play the remake, then 3 and 4. It's interesting that the entire series came out on the Xbox360, ps3 generation. I'm glad for the reboot.
  15. It's a back to back whammy starting with Covid, then Russia's invasion. Covid forced manufacturing in some areas to not have requisitions for new chips as demand dropped due to people staying at home and spending less money to buy products. That shifted the market over to electronics like computers. Then ps5 and Xbox was released right in the middle of the pandemic and never expected the huge demand. It takes a few months to produce the chips. And I have no proof, but I don't doubt businesses are hoarding chips. Then Russia's invasion has halted production of neon in Ukraine that's used to make half of the world's supply for chips from 2 companies Ingas and Cryoin. Ingas is in Mariupol which is a city that has been destroyed and Cryoin also shut down. Russia makes a huge chunk of palladium for the chips and sanctions has crippled it. Taiwan is the largest chip supplier which makes it a prime target for China to seize control. Other countries including the U.S. are looking to start up chip manufacturing at home. Then again we need other suppliers of neon and palladium. All this could very well lead to a global crisis with everyone trying to gain the upper hand to control the market. https://www.reuters.com/technology/exclusive-ukraine-halts-half-worlds-neon-output-chips-clouding-outlook-2022-03-11/ https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2022-03-16/when-will-the-chip-shortage-end-u-s-eu-spend-billions-in-race-to-beat-china
  16. Been playing Red Dead Redemption 1 all weekend and I’m growing quite fond of the game. I don’t know why I haven’t given the game it’s proper respect, but I think I got caught up in hype and now I’m playing it just as fun with focus on story. And it’s strange because I lived out west surrounded by desert and mountains and didn’t really sink in the scenery and how nostalgic I am with that environment. Game really needs a remaster. Anyways, I’m enjoying it.
  17. I read both those links. The survey comes right out to say gaming makes kids aggressive but mentioned almost nothing on aggression and only talks about gaming addiction. This is what the survey says on aggression: "Parents of teens who play games are generally neutral on the effect of games on their children, with nearly two-thirds believing that games have no impact one way or the other on their offspring." "62 per cent of parents say that video games have no effect on their child one way or the other. 19 per cent of parents say that video games have a positive influence on their child. 13 per cent of parents say video games have a negative influence on their child." So that survey is redundant. The study in your first link starts off saying this: "Kids exposed to violent video games are more likely to pull the trigger in real life situations, as compared to those who do not indulge in such gaming habits, researchers have warned." There were 3 groups (gaming with guns, gaming with swords, and gaming with non violence). The kids gamed for 20 minutes and then went to a room to play with toys. 2 disabled handguns were left there for the study and the kids found them and 'touched a gun.' How did they get from touching a gun to "most likely to pull the trigger in real life situations" when they are in a fucking toy room? How does that resemble real life situations? WTF? And the ones who touched a gun did it out of familiarization or curiosity. That's not aggression. And the ones who played the game without violence and who also touched a gun, are they considered aggressive too because of gaming? Sorry but I declare bullshit
  18. Definitely a fan, cool to see others enjoy A.C. too. 3 kings I was referring to my top 3 which are Origins, Valhalla, and Odyssey. 😄
  19. Lauren Boebert who has proposed a bill to deny 1st place winner Lia Thomas who is transgender and replace with the 2nd place instead, is now advocating for transgender youth to not be able to get gender affirming care until they are 21. Here is what she said on twitter: "We require people to be 21 to purchase alcohol beverages, and 21 to purchase tobacco products. Why is it so unreasonable to require people to reach a certain level of maturity before making life-altering decisions about their sexuality and identity?" OK, so you can buy guns at 18 and join the military at 18. I actually didn't know the tobacco law was recently changed to be 21. That's interesting news. 1st of all, it's wrong to put a law telling someone they can't get a medical treatment. 2nd, people are considered adults at 18 and they can make their own medical decisions. 3rd, parents and their children have the right to make a decision of their own health choices, especially when the child is facing serious psychological trauma and possibility of suicide. And these same people say face masks and vaccines are a violation of their rights. HYPOCRITES So, you got some policy other than hating on others? Just one fucking policy proposal that isn't an attack on others? I get it that it really doesn’t matter what I say or what any democrat says or even what the constitution says anymore. Republicans are going to pass whatever bill they want in red states. So I realize that. I’m just pointing out the hypocrisies, and/or violations of the constitution. The rest is history. So I’m gonna go back to trying to keep my mind in peace and harmony. Because you republicans are poison.
  20. Odyssey is what I've become attached to; the lore, beliefs, scenery, Greece as the birthplace of democracy and olympics. I have the whole series except for the first one and Unity. I really love all the games. One thing is for sure is that I'll never delete the 3 kings, Odyssey, Valhalla, and Origins. I've also been wanting to get Unity so I'll have to start looking for it again.
  21. This bill proposed by New Hampshire shows republican's true intention in their anti CRT motive. New Hampshire House Bill 1255 is titled 'Relative To Teacher's Loyalty'. Now just think about that title with Teacher's Loyalty. Do you think talking about race related history or any civil rights is disloyal? This bill takes after laws from 1949 where the USA had the Red Scare and made it illegal for teachers to mention anything about communism. So in todays climate and anti CRT where talking about history, the constitutional amendments, racism or any civil rights topics that may offend some white person somewhere to them is considered a Red Scare. What about the Nazi fascist scare that all that republicans are engaging in right here in present day? Democratic states better start passing laws to protect education for the long term before a republican gets elected there. Like banning Historical Negationism would be a good law all states and government should get behind.
  22. Every generation should improve, but it's nothing without improvement in gameplay and new features that enhances it. On the ps3 generation console, I'm sure there is a way to take gaming pics only a scientist can figure out, but this last generation brought the photo mode which is a huge plus. New features like that is what adds greater value to the next generation. The newest generation has the haptic feedback controllers. Hopefully some cool new features will be brought to the table. It's still early. I think what's going to end up happening is there will be greater concentration on NFT and money making schemes and neglect the actual progression of gameplay features. NFT is going to be their prime features. And online type things will improve. So that makes me skeptical that any real progress will happen with actual games and not just graphics, speed, NFT, and online mode.
