Violent Games and Teen Aggression Aren’t Linked?
Reality vs Adventure replied to skyfire's topic in Gaming Forum
Teen aggression has been around since the beginning of time. Video games has only been around 40 years. Plenty of people are aggressive who don't play games. What do they blame for those people's aggression? Why should a gamer be treated differently and overlook other things? -

Could playing VR games boost lucid dreaming?
Reality vs Adventure replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Virtual Reality
It's when you are dreaming and some light goes on in your head making you aware that you are dreaming. When that happens you can usually do things you want like flying or floating, be invincible etc. It's happened to me a number of times but never lasts long. I always become too aware I'm dreaming and wake up. -
Republicans are on the attack against universities as part of their culture war and they want to demonize universities as well as try to sell themselves as victims of not having free speech. Republican Michael Knowles held a speech at Washburn University titled 'Banning Transgenderism' on 3/31 which is also the annual International Transgender Day of Visibility. Yes, you heard that correct. Republicans claim to not have free speech, and then go and give a speech on banning transgenderism. So this is what they complain about free speech for? They are attacking university 'culture' as part of their culture war and anti CRT while pushing this crap? https://www.ksnt.com/news/local-news/conservative-speaker-michael-knowles-gives-ban-transgenderism-lecture-at-washburn-university/ This all speaks for itself. All the bills against transgender children and teens to stop them from getting gender affirming care because they don't want them to play sports and could care less about their psychological issues. Their ban on trans serving in the military that Biden had to reverse. And republicans are proposing a resolution to honor second place winner of the NCAA Women's 500 yard freestyle to be the rightful winner of 1st place instead of Lia Thomas who is a transgender that came in first place, who rightfully won after going through therapy and met qualifications to compete. This is the real reason republicans are attacking trans. It's not to protect them, it's not for any other reason than to get them out of sports, out of bathrooms, and just ban them from existence. I wonder what a hard lined republican would do if they ended up having a trans child. Would they betray their own child for political beliefs? Would they abandon their child? Neglect them? Republicans are following the same rhetoric as Putin and the way he demonizes LGTBQ and his push to ban abortions. If you look at all democratic countries, none have an abortion ban. Proof that republicans are lock in step with Putin. Republican/Putin ideology is to try to have a strong man approach and take away their rights as part of the strong-man tradition. Some forms of domestic violence is no longer illegal in Russia along with the attack on LGTBQ. All these things what republicans are pushing for is exactly what Putin has done to Russians with their “gay propaganda” law or their “anti gay” law. Transgender people in that country aren’t even allowed to drive!!! Texas and Idaho are passing laws to criminalize gender-affirming care of trans people before becoming an adult in bill HB 657. Doctors will get criminalized and the child or teen will be taken away from their parents claiming it’s child abuse. No, what’s abusive is how they want to demonize that community in the schools with the Don’t Say Gay bill in Florida or to separate a child from their parents because they want gender-affirming care. Many of those children and teens who don’t get the care they need end up with major psychological problems and even suicide. The ironic thing is that republicans have trans children too. How do they respond to the attacks on their children? Seems like republicans care more about stopping trans children and teens from playing sports then they do for their psychological well being. FUCK YOU REPUBLICANS

Do you ever take time out to clean your video games?

Once my system cools, I cover it with a rag. It stays shiny new. I just don't like it when it updates something overnight with the rag still on because it traps heat. I try to no cover the vents. -
The attack on universities continues. So I actually just learned that universities have a board of regents that is appointed by the governor. These regents control the finances and administration of universities. Universities also have a 'tenure policy' which is lifetime job security for professors and would only be fired if there was good enough cause. This tenure policy is supposed to 'safeguard academic freedom' and 'protect professors from controversial research, publication, and ideas.' The American Association of University Professors formed in 1915 due to dismissals of professors for talking about controversial issues and formed the standard university 'tenure policy' in 1940 from the Statement of Principles on Academic Freedom and Tenure. This gives professors freedom of speech and ideas without allowing the institution or government to fire them over controversy. The Texas Lt Governor Dan Patrick now wants to end the tenure policy as CRT being their excuse. And they are going to get it passed since Texas politicians have no living and breathing democrats. And they have the nerve to use parents as an excuse again saying parents pay for their child's tuition. Umm maybe in their spoiled little world that's the case. Now that university tenure is going to get scrapped across the board, professors will no longer have job security, freedom of thought or publication or even research. And if they are black, with no tenure policy, you damn right those board regents appointed by the governor will fire them. Because without tenure policy, those polarized appointed regents will be free to wage their Historical Negationism on universities and staff. https://www.aaup.org/report/1940-statement-principles-academic-freedom-and-tenure https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Association_of_University_Professors Fascist attacks on universities so far: 1) Sue the universities 2) Mandatory surveys 3) Ban race related staff policy training 4) Get rid of tenure policy What will be next??? You think it's going to end? Nope. The day of widespread book burning and mass incarceration of teachers has yet to come. We twiddle our thumbs while they go to sleep and wake up thinking about the same thing on how to screw over education.

I treat my discs like a delicate crystal and my console like the last working electronic on Earth. -
For the greatest immersion, games should do any with 90% of collecting items. That way you can focus on other things and not go into a room and run in circles looking for items to pick up. It's just an annoying distraction, especially in horror games where you are supposed to focus on suspense building. I don't know how many times I catch the shit end of something spooky because I was looking for loot. Also having good AI throughout is definitely a huge factor in immersion.

This is huge This involves multiple states, 7 states that we know of, and 84 republicans who signed bogus forged documents to have counterfeit electors replace the true electors on Jan 6 certification of Biden's win in an attempt to overthrow the whole election. And meanwhile we had the coup attempt taking place attacking the capital. The Jan 6 committee is now investigating these republicans that have conspired to defraud and overthrow the election and so far we know of seven states that are involved: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, New Mexico, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. This is sickening the level of treason going on from republicans. So we can expect to see republicans take extreme measures to obstruct this investigation. How far will they go? Will it all be swept under the rug if republicans win House and Senate in the midterms? You betcha. That's why the attorney general is now calling for more aggressive investigation. https://lailluminator.com/2022/01/31/trumps-fake-electors-heres-the-full-list/ https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/27/politics/fake-electors-explainer/index.html https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2022/01/doj-trump-coup-investigation-forged-documents.html https://www.yahoo.com/news/justice-dept-widens-jan-6-113905670.html

Russia Invaded Ukraine
Reality vs Adventure replied to Techno's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
Turns out now that several hundred Russian soldiers have acute radiation sickness for digging trenches in the radiated 'red forest'. That's just senseless and out right stupid for their commanders to dance around in the exclusion zone. I would hate to be a Russian soldier following orders of sociopaths. https://nypost.com/2022/03/31/russian-troops-withdrawn-from-chernobyl-with-radiation-sickness-report/ -
Part of the fun is just recruiting who you want. And that can be a challenge itself. You can always dismiss anyone on your crew if you find someone else you prefer. You can have up to 42 or so members. Anyone you see you can save them to your recruits to check them out later and decide if you want to risk your neck to recruit them. Some people hate you because of the propaganda against you, so that doesn't necessarily make them your enemy; you have to do more work to recruit them. And having it on permanent death mode will greatly intensify the way you handle your crew members. Things can go haywire real fast and get your member killed. That could be someone you really liked. So that sense of urgency to save your neck is pretty damn intense. Once you are stuck in the shit with nowhere to go except guns blazing, you better have quick thinking to get yourself out of it. Cause drones above will also shoot you on site.

I think that topic should be discussed maybe on another thread because LGBTQ is also being targeted in grade schools and republicans are making bills to prevent people under 18 from getting gender affirming care which they claim protects them, but instead it's to prevent them from participating in sports. This goes back to what @Crazycrab was saying about all the psychological issues they have to go through including suicide, so to block gender affirming care in youth, and then want to block them in adulthood from playing sports is simply a discrimination issue.

10 years, with no new Silent Hill game...

They should restart the series with new movies and games. -
Freestyle rapping is difficult. You have to think fast and know how to rhyme. I like New York style rapping where it's raw and doesn't necessarily even rhyme, but still flows. Rap is like poetry. It doesn't have to rhyme and you can say whatever you want as long as there is a message. Put you on the flo, innie minnie miny moe This bullet will hit your soul It's time for roulette Cause you stole my Juliette Singing would be like- I miss you, oh I miss you; why did you leave me broken hearted; I promise it wasn't me that sharted. 😆 I almost just had a seizure I laughed so hard

Could playing VR games boost lucid dreaming?
Reality vs Adventure replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Virtual Reality
You know what, I think you may be right about that. I think realizing you are just in a dream is empowering, but what if people still feel helpless in the dream? Then it could aggravate it. But if people can get used to lucid dreaming on a regular basis, then when that bad dream comes up they might be just a tad bit stronger, then next time a tad bit more stronger. That would take a lot of VR playing though and probably years of it for it to have any real life affect outside the dreamworld. -
Well, turns out that republicans have now introduced a bill to honor 2nd place winner Emma Weyant instead of Lia Thomas. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/lauren-boebert-declares-runner-up-to-transgender-swimmer-lia-thomas-rightful-winner You can see their resolution from the above link trying to honor Weyant as the rightful winner. I hope that Emma Weyant stands up against this sort of thing and honors her second place. I wonder what she would say. This is ugly politics gone too far and displays republican hate towards LGBTQ. U.S. representative Lauren Boebert's own words " Emma Weyant wast the fastest woman competing in the 2022 NCAA Division Women's 500-yard Freestyle, but her first place win was stolen by a mediocre man who couldn't cut it in men's swimming."

There is actually a term of what republicans are engaging in the school systems and racial issues. It's not at the point of indoctrination yet, but they are laying the groundwork for it. Actually, a private school is on the news for a teacher getting caught forcing kids to go against president Biden. I'll get to that, so some teachers are already engaging in indoctrination. But anti CRT bills getting passed and what republicans are widely engaged in is the term called 'Historical Negationism.' I might make this a topic by itself because it's important to be aware that's exactly what they are doing. Historical negationism is falsification or distortion of the historical record and could even be called denialism. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_negationism It's important to note that history education is not indoctrination as what anti CRT republicans want you to believe. History should be accurate and it should be taught. When you take that away, that denialism is historical negationism. Books can be changed; books taken off shelves as they have done; book burning etc. Holocaust deniers is historical negationism as well as many genocides, American civil war by the view of confederates, and even republican's take on slavery are all negationism. The danger of it is to deny the education and awareness of sensitive issues in order to control public opinion for political purposes. And that sort of denial promotes racial discrimination as well as decreases prevention of repeating history. Look how republicans have outlawed any discussion of some of the amendments to the constitution in schools. Those amendments include civil rights, women's suffrage, and the labor movement. Republicans are denying people the right to learn about those things and why it happened and why it's important. And that negationism enables the discrimination to other groups of people like LGBTQ such as Florida's Don't Say Gay bill in schools. Historical negationism is such a dangerous practice, that many countries have actually outlawed it. The USA should start realizing this attempt by the republicans and pass into law to ban historical negationism. That would put an end to this mess in schools. Turning Point Christian School was forcing pre schoolers in a chant against President Biden. This is what real indoctrination is: https://www.yahoo.com/news/letters-editor-leading-preschoolers-anti-100030047.html I guess I covered what I wanted to say here, but I still feel it's important to make it a topic by itself.
