Man, what's with you people? Karate Kid was about morality, self discipline and all that teaches. A stupid white kid taught discipline and morality. That is the true classic. Cultures clash trying to teach the westerns the art. That art goes deeper than fighting. You bunch of ass holes in a bowl of milk.

I started gaming a few years back now, and I started with the ps2 because it had a huge selection of games compared to Xbox. And I stuck with PlayStation for newer consoles. I don’t know why, but Xbox just doesn’t ring any bells for me. I also got excited about TLOU on the ps3; I think that had some influence on my decision to stick to PlayStation. I also always wanted to play Gears of War on Xbox, but TLOU really sold me with such high reviews. And I was not disappointed.

Walking/running speeds in open world games
Reality vs Adventure replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
They make the speeds crazy. I like it when you can control the character speed by how hard or gently you use the button; walk slow, or fast, or run. But when all they do is run around like a hamster on crack, it's so hard just to get through a door or go up a ladder/stairs. That should be an option to decide how your character walks and runs in customization. -
Afraid of Free Speech
Reality vs Adventure replied to Jayson's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
Well you have two countries-the one invading has blocked social media and a reporter reported that police are seizing people’s phones to look at their messages and photos. The country getting attacked wants media access, as some of their communication towers were destroyed. And they are now depending on Starlink to try and get internet. I'm not much of a user of social media, but I'm definitely an advocate of the importance in having social media access. Internet and social media is important in times like this to let the world see what is going on. So you obviously fail to see and are probably denying the fact that Russia is the oppressor of free speech. If a country has a justification to fight another country, they won’t block social media access. Russia has just expanded their crackdown of free speech by passing a new law that will jail anybody for 15 years for saying 'war' or 'invasion' and that includes the press. All reporters now have to stop their live broadcasting out of fear of the new law. So Russia just went dark. -
They are nowhere near the middle when they vote for scumbags. Who you vote for says a lot about your morality. They are just as guilty looking the other way while their leaders are traitors, racists, fascists, conspiracy mongers, and liars. Just as guilty voting for them, and just as guilty as committing acts of bigotry themselves by supporting those psychos. I get it that republicans don’t like democratic policy and how they whine about civil rights. But damn, republicans would rather do away with democracy, put people’s lives at risk through open hostility and racism, have a civil war, commit treason, and have complete totalitarianism rule rather than to compromise with democrats. The middle is not the far right. Do you support Mitt Romney? He is the middle conservative type. The only other middle conservatives are the two on the Jan 6 committee, Cheney and Kinzinger, who the republicans are trying to ban from their party and censor. That’s all the middle conservative has got. Other than that, Andrew Yang is forming a third party that middle conservatives really should look into. I also like Andrew Yang and I hope his third party can develop into competition with republicans and democrats. If you want middle and hate democrats, then Yang is definitely the moral high road then to get sucked into republican fascism.

How do you immerse yourself properly in a games plot?
Reality vs Adventure replied to NightmareFarm's topic in Gaming Forum
I know where you are coming from. It's not really the story to blame that isn't good enough to immerse in, it's more of wanting to be so focused and wanting everything to be perfect with no distractions; and that leads to a self propelled break in immersion. Sometimes cut scenes happen so fast and unless you have a good save, then you miss out. And its a matter of a split second where I thought about something else, and that moment zoomed right by. That's a problem with games. The things they say in cut scenes goes by so damn fast. Especially if they are throwing names or places in there where I have to think for a second to recall who or what they are talking about, and the moment now passed. It's aways good to save the game before starting and finishing any kind of mission or interactions with people. Games where you can't manual save whenever you want just flat out suck. I think it is a personal issue you have to work on to help keep you focused. Eat a good meal and drink some focus tea like ginseng or something relaxing. And make sure your pets aren't in crave attention mode. Sometimes when an important cut scene starts I have to pause the game if I feel there are distractions like yapping dogs or something. Those things ALWAYS seem to happen right in an important moment. -
Petition for Sony to approve Days Gone 2
Reality vs Adventure replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Video Games
Where should the setting in Days Gone 2 be? Do you think it would move to an urban center? -
So apparently Days gone is not that good.
Reality vs Adventure replied to kingpotato's topic in Video Games
I actually think the gameplay and scenery is as good as The Last of Us. It actually reminds me of it a bit. The story itself surprised me a bunch of times. It could have been a masterpiece on the level of The Last of Us with a little more work on character lines. I think the right word to use is cliche at times. But it gets better as the story progresses. A must try game. -
A big issue that comes to my mind and sharing is how a lot of times minorities can't get houses because they are least likely to get approved of loans from banks, real estate are less likely to sell them a house in certain districts. Because if they get housing in rural or suburban counties, it will mess up racist gerrymandering lines which are purposely drawn by republicans to leave out ethnic minority votes. If minorities move into those districts, it would give them stronger voting representation that republicans are completely against. The AFFH, Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing, was put in place from Obama as part of the 1968 Fair Housing Act to help fight against housing discrimination, and Trump immediately went and removed it when he was in office. Republicans also believe in trickle down policy, where they keep protecting the wealthy in hopes that the wealthy will share, which never happens. Job discrimination and the fact that there are very little non white, non female top corporate positions, and very little non white, female top government positions, all have an impact on wealth distribution which always provide bare minimum funding if any to certain communities. For example, Biden was forced to drop some things from the infrastructure bill that would help some less privileged communities because republicans simply have racist backbones and absolutely will not pass anything that helps minorities, unless of course there is a big package that further helps their greed and corporate power. The wealth distribution of bailout money under trump unproportionately helped his favorable causes compared to other companies. Even farming bailouts from Covid as well as the failed China trade war were again unproportionately given to white farmers instead of black farmers. Granted, there are a lot more white farmers, but many black farmers currently never received funding. Biden passed a bailout package to help black farmers, and the white farmers sued the administration saying the bill was racist because it was going to black farmers, so the funding got squashed. The black farmers should have sued the trump administration when he left them out of bailouts. But improper wealth distribution is a part of systemic oppression and government/corporate interests taking priority over the interests of the common people.

I don't think many people have heard about NF, but he's really good. Here is an intro song to the album Mansion. Every time I listen to it, it gets my heart pumping.

Eminem is a talented rapper. Although I'm only familiar with the popular hits. I'm sure it would be worth it to me to check out his non radio hit songs. More recently, a similar type of rapper is NF which I really like. A lot of things he says I can relate to. It would probably be the same if I dug deeper into Eminem songs.

Please show us all proof of a bill democrats are pushing that’s extreme in any education system. Your people declared the culture war because you honor a political system that is anti democratic. It’s you and your kind fighting a culture war. The rest of us want normality, democracy, and civil liberties. That’s obviously too much to ask from a bunch of power hungry racist fascists.

Republicans aren't going to stop with their fascist push. They have attacked public schools, now universities. Now they have attacked public libraries and now a librarian can go to jail with bill HB 666 if passed in Idaho if they let a minor check out a book that republicans deem as 'obscene literature.' And you all thought liberals were complaining about books! Also, they are pushing bills to allow politicians access to all school records and student records, which is a violation of privacy rights. Republicans are passing and trying to pass bills that are punishing teachers, school boards, professors, and fucking librarians. You support this sort of thing?

I haven't finished Brotherhood yet before getting to Revelations; and I have no doubt it's a great game. I did play the very beginning of Revelations once and Ezio was older; so I stopped to play Brotherhood since the story is tied. I was impressed with what I saw in Revelations though. I have it on both ps4 and ps3. Maybe I should just go ahead and start playing it!

The schools are screwed, republicans win the hitler youth program. Salute! Now I wonder how republican fascism will play out in universities. So far they are pushing to allow students to sue universities if they feel offended. Now that it's not a parent/child issue anymore, let's see how creative republicans get to destroy higher education. 😱 I also have to ask, do you support suing universities for anything that offends you that is taught? Yes or No Here is a list of potential attacks on universities 1) Sue universities 2) Mandatory surveys of political beliefs 3) Threaten to block school funding 4) Change required curriculums 5) Book vetting/new revised textbooks 6) Politicians get all access to school and student records I can think of other crazy things, but I'll let republicans come up with it themselves so I am not helping in their creative indoctrination.

Russia Invaded Ukraine
Reality vs Adventure replied to Techno's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
Actually, the USA engaged in a covert operation- Operation Cyclone to help Afghans fight the Soviets, and back and forth it went as the Soviets aided N. Vietnam in the Vietnam war as well as N. Korea in the Korean war. -
Stereotyping of Violent Criminals
Reality vs Adventure replied to Jayson's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
Well, it has to be done. Gradually increase the taxes on it so it becomes the norm. The government is pretty good at doing that. Make it much more expensive. Maybe even reduce the alcohol content of beers. People wouldn’t want to waste money on weak booze. But as long as we recognize the strong link between violence and alcohol, then boohoo to what drinkers think about it. But the link between alcohol and violence has also been shown in other countries as well. I mean, the stats are there. It’s a matter of what any government will do about it when they are more worried about their political prospects than tackling a major unpopular task like alcohol. -
Stereotyping of Violent Criminals
Reality vs Adventure replied to Jayson's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
If you took the tobacco playbook that dramatically decreased smoking, it could help with alcohol without outright banning it. Put really high taxes on alcohol, all the way to manufacturing, to distribution, to sales tax. Limit the servings in bars and restaurants. Somehow put an alcohol purchase tracker in the barcodes of ID’s that will be mandatory to scan when purchasing. Recently a bill was passed to detect alcohol and abnormal driving behavior in all new vehicles. I’m not so sure that would work well. But alcohol is a major problem and a major factor in violent behavior. Another thing is the built environment has alcohol stores on every corner. Maybe implement more dry counties. -
This country fought a civil war that ended slavery. Jim Crow laws were mostly in the south who couldn’t accept blacks as being free after the war. Overall, democratic leaders around the world have brought a lot more quality of life to its citizens. But why am I talking to another American about democratic values, as if you are against it? What a shame.

Yeah, there are too many distractions taking away from the gameplay itself. Check the options to see if you can turn off some of the display. I know it's hard to do when starting out a game you still have to learn. But at least games should have display options you can leave off when you are more familiar with the game. Some games I turn everything off except for health meter. The mini map and objectives are the first I take off since it always takes up the most screen space.
