Assassin's Creed Odyssey/Valhalla/Origins is the king of open worlds if you are into exploring, scenery, and culture. Witcher 3 is king if you like story and lore. Ghost of Tsushima is king of well balanced open world. Dying Light is king of the apocalypse. Horizon Zero Dawn is king of uniqueness. I can't think of this kind of greatness in open worlds for ps3.

Should the Current gen consoles have been delayed?
Reality vs Adventure replied to Yaramaki's topic in Gaming Forum
The marketing was smart to release consoles during a pandemic since people would be at home gaming. Then the chip shortage came. They should have anticipated the demand, but initial releases of consoles are experimental so they release in batches to improve series. Then scalpers finish it off. But who would know war was around the corner further affecting semiconductors. This is the new reality. And now people are going back to work, which is closing the window of excitement that drove the higher demand. So now we will enter the panicky phase due to long term chip shortages. Companies will now start chip hoarding if they haven't already. So this will keep the prices high of newer consoles, deter people from buying, and will affect game development since they now have to make two versions of games for each generation console if they wanted to have any great success. Developers may reconsider to keep making both versions as the norm. -
There is an interesting comparison I’ve found playing driving games like GTA, Watch Dogs, Saints Row etc. is that since I can choose any NPC to play in Watch Dogs Legion, I’m more concerned about who I run over because it could be someone on my side, an ally that wants to fight. All the characters actually mean something compared to the other games that I’m a little more desensitized to running over.

WHO now officially lists "gaming disorder" as a disease
Reality vs Adventure replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
What the hell does this science have to do with SJW everyone keeps talking about? You all actually sound like the SJW you criticize. Anyways, SJW shouldn't get mixed up in science or else you get wackos who won't wear a mask or get vaccinated during Covid because those are some true wacky SJW's who are anti science. Enough said about that nonsense. But if gaming disorder is a disease, then internet disorder and tv disorder and social media disorder should all be diseases. How many people get into wrecks while on their phones? If you can't stay off the damn thing long enough to operate a motor vehicle, then cell phones and social media should be a disorder. But doing that kind of research on internet and phones won't work because it is widely spread and accepted to the public; plus the big tech giants will probably lobby the research away if their devices are known to be associated with a disorder, or massive lawsuits against the WHO which tech giants can afford to do. -
Russia Invaded Ukraine
Reality vs Adventure replied to Techno's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
Take your pro putinism and shove it. Ukraine isn’t even a part of NATO. They hold observer status. And that doesn’t give Russia the right to invade another country. Russia is part of the CSTO or Collective Security Treaty Organization as a counter to NATO. Ukraine used to be a part of CSTO but suspended membership and along with other post Soviet Union countries formed the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development as a counter to Russia’s influence of CSTO. The CSTO has been accepting members of observer status over the years just as NATO has. Ukraine has all the right as a country to observe NATO. How dare another country tell them they can't and then invade them for it. Meanwhile Russia threatens other countries for having an interest in NATO, at the same time accepts observer status in CSTO. There is a reason why countries would rather be a part of NATO then deal with Russia and whatever organization its a part of. And that's because Russia wants to gain control of the old Soviet countries. -
Stalin committed genocide on his own citizens. Hitler also committed genocide on his own citizens. ENOUGH SAID. Do you even have a point other than to praise thuggish leaders?

Why are skin tones so off in so many RPGs?
Reality vs Adventure replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I've noticed skin tones being a bit off. Too much yellows and reds. The yellow makes them look like they got hep c or something and the reds look like they got sunburnt. Even many times the whites are a bit pale. And when you want a little color, they get yellow. I guess it's hard to make a peach color because they don't know how to balance yellows and reds. -
How do you personally define RPGs?
Reality vs Adventure replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I'm a bit confused on what an RPG is because it seems any game can be role-playing; even sports where you role play as a great athlete. Or role play as a soldier. To me, role playing is putting yourself into a character. Even more so, role playing would seem more likely to be in 3rd person, as you see the person and their gear and their movements/fighting/magic/weapons. 1st person RPG seems less role playing and more shooter/hack slash. Role playing to me seems like more fantasy/adventure rather than something like horror. Horror, you aren't fantasizing and getting in character, you are the character getting scared. So that isn't role playing. But some horror can be RPG like Witcher 3 for example. You role play as a witcher, and fight different lore. I think lore is the key to role playing. Even more so if your character isn't just a regular human, but rather someone who is a great warrior, or athlete even, or superhero, victim of some sort like sci fi experiments; or a god/goddess, civilian going through extraordinary measures as a protector of people. Almost anything can be role playing. Just playing a video game you are already role playing. That's just my thoughts and how I perceive RPG. So as you can see, I'm confused by what exactly should/should not be RPG. -
The problem that blurs the line is how the middle class has been dwindling over the years. So as more middle class becomes closer to the average person, including the poor, the middle class gains more sympathy for the poor and not the wealthy. Fascism favors corporatism. When a society is pro corporate, depending on trickle down that never comes, then the middle class shrinks even more and the poor class grows. That's why republicans favor corporations. Fascism and corporatism work together to bend the will of people, exploit them, control them, and ultimately puts all economic burden on the people. Republicans are against increasing the minimum wage. They gives tax breaks to the wealthy. They are against regulations and environmentalism, all due to the corporate/fascist agenda. Which drives the middle class into the poor class. And when people embrace fascism, the government has complete control over the economy and there becomes less and less businesses as they get bought out and everything becomes consolidated into a handful of corporations controlling everything; instead of capitalism, where there is a private ownership and individualistic pursuit. Even capitalism itself should be reformed and ban lobbying so that corporate money stays out of politics. When too much money goes into politics we get fascism, where politicians no longer regards the people, but instead sees the government as their personal business.

I have never experienced any left wing or right wing stuff pushed in my face in school. If critical thought is now considered a demonized word, then what becomes the point of higher education? How will the far right hatred adjust in universities that teach history? Will they start going after that too if they talk about salvery or civil rights, women's suffrage etc.? New laws are being pushed by republicans to allow students sue the school if they feel offended on what is taught. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of higher learning?
-
He completely forgot to mention the republican attack on colleges and universities now. Republicans are calling universities a place to get radicalized on the left. And of course the more educated people are on the left compared to the republican base, so why not attack higher education now. Remember when the Florida governor tried to make mandatory surveys for students and staff to see what their beliefs are? And then threaten to hold government funding. That's completely unconstitutional. Well, more red states are pushing that bill now. As far as the public education, it's screwed. Only the left states like California and New York will be left to teach Americans actual fact based history. We don't know how long that will hold out till those states get a red republican freak in there who will immediately destroy schools in those states. If democrats are unwilling to fight for things, then they will lose those things. There are a few red states that don't even have free elections anymore after their voting suppression bills. I remember reading in the news about a woman who infiltrated a suburban female right wing club who were pushing anti CRT in schools. She said she felt very concerned about these women and their anger. At one point one of the women suggested hiring someone to do whatever it takes to punish anyone who teaches CRT. Seriously, these far right people are thinking bout hiring a hitman while the left twiddles their thumbs and ignores everything. I don't know why so many people have so much hate and extremism in this country and are willing to aid in the destruction of democracy. Sorry to say, but the best thing to do would be to start a new life in a different country because the USA is wasted. There are way too many people who have lost their morality in this country. This is what happens in societal breakdown. We should call it for what it is. This is a fascist push to ban books, attack history and any who try to teach it, and attack freedom of thought in higher learning. Soon we should expect to see courses get banned like ethics and cultural psychology and change the curriculum of how to teach psychology courses, English writing, and have a policy on any college papers that are written, and any books read. This is what fascism looks like.

Russia Invaded Ukraine
Reality vs Adventure replied to Techno's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
Ukraine marine a hero for giving his life to blow up a bridge to slow Russian tanks. The ultimate sacrifice for your country. We can't honor every soldier and civilian, but at least we can honor some in solidarity. I know there are conflicts all around the world and so many heroes that gave their life and my thoughts go out to all of them. This shit just does not have to happen. https://www.abc27.com/russia-ukraine-conflict/ukraine-military-soldier-blew-himself-up-on-bridge-to-halt-russian-advance/ -
Since the update, there's been some speculation about having 3rd person, but it seems the game was made for first person. And there are mods on PC who were able to make it in 3rd which turns out to be sort of messy. The game would need to be completely overhauled, but they have their hands full just trying to make the game functional.

You got me at 'no pause' so I'll pass. I play to enjoy, not for an assignment. For any future game that wants to leave out the pause, I won't buy it.

Reality vs Adventure replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Video Games
No reply? The game wasn't made for weak hearts, and I wasn't made to violin you weak weak weak weak weak. You living in diapers eh? Want me to slap you eh? Welcome to my row; where gods are stupid. I walk among you figuring life; analyzing your cranium. You want to walk among us Gods? I see you for who you are esa. We walk free to kill anyone. Oh do we scare you Santa. Let me send a whore. The row is what the razor made us. Do you blame us now? Are we guilty for being bad? You made us. We fight back. No country but a hood. Don't disgust me you fucker. You think you are better> Bring it to the ROW. -
There is a new gangsta in town. It's always been there overlooked and underestimated since ps3 era. It didn't have the advertising, the hype, the...whatever. But it was there. Saints Row 1 was an Xbox exclusion so I am playing Saints Row 2. I wasn't gaming during that era of ps3 generation. Was there controversy? Hate? Anybody play SR2? I have to wonder WTF. It is by far better gameplay than GTA until GTA 5. Granted, I've only played GTA 3, San Andreas, GTA 4, and GTA 5, and Saints Row 2. But Saints Row needs to be recognized. Respect is due. I wanna hear you holla; hear you scream; Saints Row; Saints Row. SR 2 is the bomb.

What does VR need to do to make it feel realistic enough?
Reality vs Adventure replied to Kane99's topic in Virtual Reality
For starters they should focus more on graphic quality instead of all the motion technologies. Visual is the most important thing. -
