  1. Honestly even Paragon and Renegade responses seem like variations on a theme to me. But I have a very minimalist concept of identity--like I only define myself by a few core traits, and the rest is just variable expressions. Like, identity = blocks in a kaleidoscope, and the patterns are just expressions. So that probably is why I see it differently.
  2. I am intrigued by a game called Spiritfarer, which I gather is a management-style game about ferrying souls to the afterlife. Has anyone played this game, and if so, what did you think of it? I’ve never gotten into these types of games, but the concept sounds unique.
  3. Weirdly enough, I can’t seem to find a thread on this. For those here who enjoy playing management and sim games, which are your favorites, and why?
  4. Have you ever pre-ordered a game for the extras that came with it? If so, which pre-order extras ended up being worth the higher price tag?
  5. Have you ever bought a game on the day it launched (or pre-ordered it so you would get it then)? What compelled you to pay full price and get it right away, especially if you usually wait to purchase games?
  6. I feel like Skyrim did things right with respect to offering first and third person perspectives and easy toggling between them. Why isn’t this a feature with more games?
  7. In games like Skyrim and Oblivion, I am totally hooked on summoning—not just to help with combat, but because I like having these transitory extra companions tagging along (whom I conveniently don’t have to keep track of). Who else loves summoning?
  8. What are some moments in games you were blithely following a quest, only to be mortified later at what you had done? In this category, Birth of the Conservation Movement from RDR Undead Nightmare springs to mind.
  9. In another thread, @killamch89 mentioned Cyberpunk 2077's source code being stolen, compromising security with respect to related downloads. Has this happened to any other games?
  10. My friend told me about some game her sister played that involves dating pigeons, which according to her sister is supposedly really good. Who else has heard of some totally bizarre games that are supposed to be good?
  11. There are always going to be controversial games that some people feel are over the line. For my part, aside from content that promotes hate (in a way that is a short step to inciting violence), I don’t much care what shows up in games. What about you? Are there any games out there that you feel should not be allowed to exist?
  12. What types of annoyances cause you to need to step away from a given game for a few days, weeks, or even months before coming back to it?
  13. What are some areas or quests in games that you would have liked, had they not lasted way longer than you wanted them to?
  14. I just played through the Sancre Tor dungeon in Oblivion, and found it really, really tedious. What are some of the most boring/tedious dungeons in games?
  15. What are some enemies in games that you find really annoying and tedious to deal with? For me, it is those gloom wraiths in Oblivion.
  16. I haven't figured out yet what to do with the Sigil Stones. what are they for?
  17. I mean a character that is essentially written with their own identity. There are variations on Shepard, but all are Shepard. Contrast, with, say, a blank slate type character like you would create for Skyrim or for an MMO that has zero pre-set personality.
  18. @m76 mentioned actually walking (as opposed to running) in some video games where it makes sense for immersion's sake. I have tried doing this in various games, but with only a few exceptions, I just can't. It feels like trudging through molasses. But I know someone else offline who walks a lot in Skyrim. Who else walks in games?
  19. That's interesting; I know someone else that does that too. I've tried, but I just can't =D
  20. I am so OCD that is how I take it in as if I were there =D
  21. Do you ever put off finishing a quest for a “temporary” follower to try and use them as a “permanent” one? For example, I did this with Barbas in Skyrim once to keep him around as a tank. And now I’m doing it with Mazoga in Oblivion since I like her personality and the game feels less lonely with a follower.
  22. Is it important to you to reach 100% completion on a game?
  23. What is some pain in the arse thing you do in the name of staying in character? Like, in Skyrim, I will NOT kill any Forsworn, ever. I have to run really fast to get through the whole Alduin’s Wall quest. It’s so annoying.
  24. Who are some video game characters who have unique and interesting outlooks/philosophies/perceptions of life? The first that comes to mind for me is Legion in Mass Effect 2.
