Did a game character ever make a decision that just crushed you? I’d say Elizabeth did this to me in Burial at Sea, though I understood her actions.
-
Usually I avoid spoilers, but sometimes when I play a game with a “no win situation” like we’ve been talking about on some other threads, I end up glad I saw a spoiler at some point that lessened the blow. Are you ever grateful for spoilers?

What’s the most badass you’ve ever felt while gaming? For me it was during one of the longer fights in TLOU on my first playthrough. I was really in the zone with meleeing while desperately trying not to die, and momentarily forgot I wasn’t actually Joel.

Enemies in Oblivion seem like they will chase you to the ends of Tamriel. What are the best ways to shake them if you don’t want to fight/kill them?
-
Is there a retro gaming system you are curious to try, but have never had a chance to play?
-
What open world game do you have the most playthroughs on?
StaceyPowers replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
On the contrary. You can fanboi all day long about New Vegas around me. Even with game-breaking bugs, I adore it. I wouldn't keep playing it over and over while it breaks if I didn't. I'm on my first playthrough of Oblivion 🙂 -
If you have a next gen console, are there any features that were dropped from the previous gen you miss?
-
To those with next gen consoles, what has been the single biggest improvement this generation?
-
Now and again we talk about developers that have had major staff turnovers. At what point does a developer lose its identity and effectively become a new one?
-
Because that's what @Reality vs Adventure does. In the most endearing way.
-
What open world game have you been playing the longest? For me, it is Skyrim, which I have been playing for I think about five years now.
-
@m76 was discussing frustration at games where at the end it feels like one's efforts were all for nothing. How does everyone here feel about such games? I think for me it would depend on the specifics whether it bothered me or not.
-
What for you have been the most devastating consequences of in-game choices? For me, the worst might still be losing Markarth to the Stormcloaks in Skyrim first playthrough because I wouldn’t pick a side.
-
I can’t think of a game I’ve played with romance or marriage options that didn’t ultimately force me to pick one person or nobody. Anyone else find games to be overly monogamous?
-
What do you think are the causes of completionist behaviours in gaming? @Shagger mentioned pride and accomplishment in another thread, and for myself, it is a mix of curiosity and OCD. Anyone have other theories?
-
Completionists, do you stubbornly finish boring quests and areas?
StaceyPowers replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
For me it's just OCD =D -
I ran through a whole mission in Mass Effect II last night only for it to kill me in a cutscene with no warning because I didn’t kill all the geth, and I was furious. Who else hates being killed in a cutscene?

@m76 was complaining in another thread about the changes in Anders in Dragon Age II, which are common complaints, as many people feel his development seemed unnatural. What do you think are some of the best and worst character development arcs in games, and why?
-
I bet btw that the ending of Dragon Age II drove you crazy, unless you happened to agree with Anders' decision.
-
Skyrim's ending actually makes me anxious, because I feel like no matter what side you choose in the civil war, the Aldmeri Dominion is likely going to take over.
