How old were you when you really got into gaming?
Kennysplash replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I should be around 8 years old or thereabout. It could be earlier than that, but my first console was gifted to me when I was 8. -
When you game, are you doing other things, or just gaming?
Kennysplash replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Unless I eat some snacks, I focus solely on my gaming activities. I can’t even multitask like that since I am handling the controller. I don’t want anything to distract me when I am serious. -
Do you ever want spoilers? Under what circumstances?
Kennysplash replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I hate spoilers. I love figuring things out myself. If I should hear it, the future game play sessions has been spoiled for me. Same with books and movies. -
Do you know anyone who watches games but doesn’t play them?
Kennysplash replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
You mean the person likes to watch others play, but they don’t themselves? I would find that strange, at least they would be curious at a point won’t they? -
I understand you point. What is the essence of playing a game that one cannot even advance to the next level? On the other hand, why should it be so easy? Where is the challenge?

You had siblings I suppose. Those days were the good old time. We will immerse ourselves in gaming, most especially during the holidays.

That is really the beauty of gaming. It will seem like a chore if you have a specific time for it. It should just be a fun and spontaneous activity, not one you should have a timetable for.

My first game which was a PS2 was a gift. I did very well in one of my elementary school exams and it was gifted to me by my father. That amazing moment will forever remain in my memory.

My favorite genre is Racing games, the arcade types. The top games for me in the genre are NFS and GTA.

Games other people find bleak that you find hopeful?
Kennysplash replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Harrypotter. I am a fan of the books and movies, but the reviews I have been getting about the games are not encouraging. I will have a say when I play it myself. But I am hopeful. -
When someone says, you're too old to be playing games?
Kennysplash replied to Heatman's topic in Gaming Forum
Those are valid questions. In fact if anyone tried to speak ill of how I choose to spend my time, I most probably will not reply respectfully. There are what we call boundaries. -

What games have had the biggest impact on your real life?
Kennysplash replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Racing games did teach me the basics of driving. When I eventually took my exams it was like a piece of cake. My instructor argued with me that I lied. The way my hands were straight on the highway disproved that I have never held a steering before. I told him it’s the work of Need for speed and GTA. -
I think we are just getting started. Videos won’t go away, it will gain more popularity and momentum as the years go by. The same way we cannot compare gaming of 20 years ago to now is how it will be in the next 20 years as well.

It’s not center stage of my life, but it helps me live a pretty much balanced life. After a day of work activities, gaming helps me feel relaxed and entertained.

Well if the games are unreasonably expensive the producers will shoot themselves in the leg. But at the same time they would not want to run at a loss. So if the games are in the market and they are being purchased, they are doing fine.

How many people here learned to type by gaming?
Kennysplash replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
There are those non conventional games too where you literally learn typing by playing them. I have a few of them installed on my PC, they are a good way of practicing fast typing. -
I appreciate it when characters have different outfits. I can choose a combination of outfits for my character to put on occasionally, and that includes the cutscenes too. It’s great when characters can also touch their environment. Is it snowing? Their footprints should leave a mark. If it’s raining, the raindrops should visibly touch the characters. Can you think of any details that make you appreciate a game?
-
I love cutscenes. That moment when you don’t control the characters, just sit back and watch watch the story unfold in a visually appealing way to the next level. It’s like watching a movie within the game. Any game I play, I have the habit of following through all the cutscenes. Do you follow through on cutscenes?

What is it about games that can annoy you at times? I don’t like it when I pause the game and those songs just come up and start playing. Then I would have to mute my TV. I paused to get something done, mostly to pick a call. Why does there have to be songs playing? I find it annoying. What is a gaming pet peeve you have?

There are some characters that seems to mirror you, your behavior, your lifestyle. You just can’t help but see the similarities you possess with them. For me it is Sora from the kingdom of hearts. Have you seen yourself in any character?
-
Have you ever played a game by chance but turned out to be great? You know those instances when you really have no intention to get it and play, but happened by chance and now you are hooked.

I have a flashy phone pouch. When I go out people often admire it and comment how nice it looks.
-
I have a very old button phone, Nokia. The phone is still working fine, even after neglecting it for years. I am now using it as a second phone, just for making and receiving calls.

The app being readily available on the phone makes it easily accessible. You don’t have to carry notebooks around you wherever you go. An advantage of technology.
