Arcade racers were pretty much dead in 2008 when you look at similair games at the time like Split/second velocity and blur they all have one thing in common that they were exellent arcade racers but they also flopped salewise, so you can't fault Ea from trying something new i guess. While i don't hate that game as much as you do and had some fun with it, it was clear in 2008 the burnout formula had overstayed their welcome as was need for speed btw should have killed off that franchise when they were at it. My favourite will always be Burnout legends on the psp, don't know why Ea never bothered to port it to modern hardware. The same could be said about the Ridge racer franchise, Namco pretty much killed it with releasing Ridge Racer Unbounded in 2012 a game that had nothing to do with the original ridge racer concept, quite the same as burnout paradise. But Man if i had to choose i'd much rather see a new ridge racer going back to it's roots then a new burnout. The only long arcade racer franchise i can think off that still is going strong is need for speed, eventough it has been struggling for an own identity for years. Sometimes i'm wondering why Ea still bothers with need for speed, the whole you vs the cops it's been there done that i guess. Well maybe they should reboot the Burnout franchise for a change! Put a different studio on it with people who were fans of the first games. Also outrun 2 (2006 coast to coast) -> best arcade racer ever, come on sega port it to current gen hardware already 🙂

Welcome, doesen't hurt to have more video game collectors here. Offcourse now we gotta know what systems do you collect for and why not anything else you like to share with us?

Anybody who has Haohmaru as avatar that i can only applaud and hereby i'll make a bow and say welcome. Any reason why you gave up on collecting and just wondering what consoles your collected for?

Do you think games are too expensive nowadays?
Yaramaki replied to Martin Berisford's topic in Gaming Forum
Let's just leave the fortnite crap out of this as we have enough of that already. I'm just going to ask the question do you bother with microtransactions from the little i got to know you on the forums i doubt it but i could be wrong with that. How many times Do you bother with Dlc? you know even that stuff goes on sale every once in a while. You know there are still plenty of games that release without any dlc or whatsever but they are usually smaller releases. But it's alright i feel you man, from your perspective can't say you're wrong as long you respect my oppinion as i was just pointing out you don't always have to get the lastest games right away, you can save a lot of money by holding off and that's the third and last time i'm going to say it. -

I can mostly agree on the prices but you have to factor in inflation and considering how many more it costs to develop a game then it was 20 years ago the prices are still the same as they were 20 years ago. Some games are also so massive these days you'd be wondering if they even need dlc in the first place, that and microtransactions is probably a discussion for another topic, i don't play multiplayer games so i don't have to deal with them too much during gaming yet. Well i can't say i disagree or agree with console prices because the panasonic 3do was 699$ at launch in 1993, the phillips cd-i was even more expensive at it's launch like 799 orso sure they flopped but just goes to show that not everithing was cheaper back in the day. -

Well I rather back up my claim in case somebody doesen't believe me. I noticed the grammer error but was too late to edit it, watching football and browsing the internet guess i'm not good at multitasking at all. I'll agree with the above statement, because it perfectly explains that going physical with your games is in the end still the best way to go. If retailers overstock and are forced to sell their games at half price or even less that's only good for gamers who prefer their games physical and should we feel bad about it, like no. You can make gaming as expensive or as cheap as possible, when i see people claiming here that they spend their money wisely on gaming and then i see them posting that they spend like 50 bucks on fortnite skins in a fortnite thread (we've got way too many of those btw) i'm like eh really man come on is that wise, i would point it that they like an idiot but it's just not worth bothering and it's not my money. Gaming is not more expensive then it was 20 years ago considering you have to factor in inflation. The way gamers spend their money has changed. I still think if you buy microtransactions no offence you're an idiot you're not going to change my oppinion on that, if you buy skins/clothes for a full priced game i'm just like why would you do that. I'll end here because i feel like neither of us is going to agree with one or the other and it's just pointless to keep going on and on. I've made my point it's just too bad i diden't kept the receipts from the games i mentioned to prove that cartridge games were more expensive then the usual 60$ we usually pay for a brand new release. One thing i'd like to say if 60$ for a game that offers dozens and dozens of hours of entertaiment is too expensive for somebody i feel like it's time to move on to another hobby. -

Oh but halo infinte was 22 euros brand new/sealed maybe i should have stated that, i never buy modern games used because it's just not worth bothering anymore. So why would it be a poor example i gave, it's a half year old game and to be honest one game that sony fanboys cry over in their sleep because it's not on their platform of choice j/k. Games drop so fast in price these days and if they are not they go on sale all the time that is if your are like me and don't give a crap about the multiplayer and hold off on games for a while you get way more bang for your buck then 20 years ago, unless you are a nintendo guy. In the exact same store gta trilogy was priced 19,99 euro despite all the shit it gets well hell yeah for that price i'm not leaving it behind and taking a copy with me home, that's a release you can easily put 100+ hours into. When you look at the ps/microsoft store for a digital edition it's still full price, that is something i'll never understand. if you are thinking i talk about my ass : -

I'm going to have to disagree with this my man, modern games now are cheaper then ever if you are willing to wait and keep an eye out for bargains every once in a while you're bound to profit from it and save a lot of money, for example i picked up halo infinite for 22 euros last week and that is a game like what 6 months old and that is even for a physical copy. In the mid 90 ies i remember my parents paying about 85 euros for super street fighter 2 for the sega megadrive/genesis, Virtua racing was over 100+ more like 125 euros because the cartridge contained a special chip which my parents also gave me because i got good grades, offcourse the euro diden't exist back then it was in frank but damn cartridge games were pretty damn expensive in that time period. Considering how many good modern games you can get for about 100 bucks compared to the sega megadrive/genesis and snes period so yeah i'd say as a gamer we never got it as good. -
I'll have a look trough my Ds collection at my parents place and see what i can remember as i diden't play the ds all that much during it's lifespan well not as much as i wanted, i was more of a psp guy at the time. If you haven't already one game you should add on top of your to play list is Pokémon Conquest , while i don't have a lot with pokémon i do love me some Nobunaga's Ambition this game combines the two in a fantastic way.

as @kingpotato already explained i can't do a better job without spoiling too much, I've had a blast with A link between worlds it's also one of the more challenging zelda games from what i remember and the ice ruins is one of the best dungeons in the entire zelda series. Sure you may see the ability to morph into walls as a gimmick but it's used in a really clever way to solve puzzles, avoid enemies, etc, to me it never felt like a gimmick and you know what makes it even cooler is with the 3d effect on, if you can handle the 3ds, 3d effect i highly recommend using it. I'm sure you will like it as it's pretty much a link to the past 2 it plays the same, has simulair graphics. Wheter or not you should play/get it is up to you, that's a choice you have to make as Some people just don't like playing on handhelds. Assuming you already have the game i don't see any reason what would be stopping you from not trying it out, if you don't have it i don't think it's going to break the bank because from what i remember it was practically everywhere during the 3ds existance. I do have to say my favourite handheld zelda game is the Minish Cap on the Gba.

I don't think Microsoft should do anything to the 360 other then what they are doing now and that is keeping the store and patches for the games online.

Well what you know huh, that's a middle finger to everybody who spend money on the game. While i don't give a crap about free to play mobile games, it's always a shame that a game gets removed, dare i say this is the reason i'm starting to hate modern gaming. My advice to people complaining here they can't play forza, stop wasting your money on fortnite skins and get yourself an xbox instead i mean you can get a used xbox one base model for cheap these days if you don't want to fork out the cash for a series x, also get foza horizon 2 first as that one is the best in the series well in in my humble oppinion.

Yeah i play old consoles all the time, but i don't have all my old consoles hooked up right now since i have yet to move my crt tv's out of my parents place yet, but a good amount of my gaming time is still being taken up by older consoles and games. Since i buy/collect a lot of older games i'm from oppionion i have to check out the stuff i buy atleast once well if it's sealed i'm keeping it sealed, a recent discovery i made this weekend : is who knew the old tiger woods golf games could be so much fun, i diden't really until i tested one out and played it the entire afternoon haha.
-
Was actually going to post the same as shagger but he beat me to it and explained it better then i ever could. The only real forza "mobile" game i know of is called Forza Street which is being shut down by the end of year. So i suggest you try that instead while it's still avaible.

Man what's up with these adds first i get xxx anime, now this add is going to tell me what to do 😂 :

Currently been playing trough Life is strange true colors and that has some of the best vegetation i've seen so far in any game. Just a Couple of others i can think off i'm sure there are a ton more : Uncharted series, ghost of tsushima, Kingdom come deliverance and why not the Forza horizon series, you could pretty much include any rally game from the past few years aswell. Yeah i agree the third one is also my favourite in the mainline series, it also has one of my favourite villians in any videogame. I never bothered with the far cry series after the 4th entry because it just felt more of the same and was a stepdown from the third game imo. While it never gets brought up but far cry primal is probably my favourite in the entire series, well of the ones i played. Having a fucking badger or bear fighting alongside you man that never gets old.

Looks like i was quite busy during the month may lol. okay i guess you could call this how much crap can you get in one month edition, let's start with Wii u if i keep it up like this i should have the entire japanese set by the end of the year, don't really have to add other then that wii fit u bundle is quite tough to find and lego city undercover is the best lego game made : Og xbox and xbox 360, quite happy to finally get Buffy the vampire slayer as it is one of the more rare japanese xbox games, it shows up once every couple of months the fact it's sealed and i got for the same price as the last one sold makes it even better. Way of the samurai 3 i bought for the books suprised they managed to bother with a 350 page book for such a nice game : More 360 shit,i bought a huge sports games lot back in august last year, since it was so cheap i went with surface mail. After 6 months i diden't count on it that it would still arrive so well you win some and lose some. Low and behold after 10 months in transit it arrived, i think even with shipping it was about 2 bucks per game considering wrestle kingdom sells for 20 alone and some games are going for around 10 i'd say that was a good deal and it saves me some pain to have to go trough a whole bunch of sport games, yes thats the pain of trying to get a complete collection : Probably the best of the buch monster hunter frontier 2013 premium package, i've been searching for this ever since i knew of it existance and low and behold one showed finally up brand new, the good thing for me the guy listed under statues instead of games so i got it for about 3500 yen. Kinda hard to photography i always tought the dragon was plastic, but it's a stone book stand whoever thought it was a good idea to release this must have been high as fuck. I wasen't really planning on getting a ps3 but one of my girlfriend her colleagues was getting rid of some stuff and they happened to have a barely used ps3 which she bought for 50 euros. What can i say, getting that ps3 renewed my interest in the system so i got some japanese stuff for it that i've been meaning to get at some point. What can i say i love me some Idolm@ster , maybe i'll get around collecting ps3 one day 😁: Hmm i guess that's everithing i got during may.

Sup Bro, haven't seen you around much lately, hope all is well? To stick to the topic : Collecting videogames takes up a bunch of my time browsing various website and what have you on daily basis, altough it's starting to slow down a bit ever since i started posting here. Other than that it's just meanly playing games and hiking. I do watch soccer from time to time but i'm more interested in watching highlights of games then actual matches. I also follow formula one but those are just the races. You should be greatfull that Cyriel Dessers choose to play for nigeria instead of belgium because he is an exellent addition to your national team.

Since i created the thread may aswell give my oppinion : Road 96 is a walking simulator comparable to vanishing of ethan carter and firewatch (without the exellent dialogue)! You play as a teen who's objective is to flee petria, on your journey you come across various characters in different situations they all come back one way or the other when you start with a new teen, once you reach your goal or fuck up because you're bound to fuck up atleast a couple of times you can start as another teen, i played with 8 different teens until election day. Which during your playtrough you can influence the people around you for who to vote or you can stay out of it won't say more then that because spoilers. Since this is a walking simulator it's hard to say there is a lot gameplay, doesen't need to imo as it has an exellent story and likeable characters that you get to know better the further you progress. This is an exellent game to play in between big games jus to take your mind off and have a relaxing experience, a playtrough will take you about 8-10 hours depending how much you explore! I got all the achievements in that time, on playstation the game has only gold trophies and a platinum so if you want to boost your collection this is an exellent game to do so. You'll probably need to play trough it twice to see every scenario with the various characters. So is it a good game, well game is far fetched i'd rather call them more experiences. If you dig games like firewatch, vanishing of ethan carter, everybody's gone to the rapture, you'll definatly dig this one. To me this is a solid 8/10 game

Enchanted arms was also released on Ps3 just a year later after the 360 version. Also Yakuza like a dragon is turn based instead of the usual beat em up style so i think you could classify that one as jrpg. It's quite an interesting list with games you don't see mentioned that often, Eternal Sonata great game nobody seems to have played, well atleast that makes two of us now. Just noticed i haven't listed my top 5 jrpg so here we go, kinda hard to nail it down to just 5 or maybe i need to do 5 old games and 5 new games but would that be cheating so a mixture of both then? I'll just stick to turn based games Phantasy Star IV -> Hands down my favourite jrpg of all time and as far as i remember the first jrpg i've ever beaten. It still looks good and is as fun as ever, like a hipster would say it has aged like fine wine. It's been ported to pretty every system inc modern ones so maybe you should give it a go. yes i'm Looking at you @kingpotato Skies of Arcadia -> Sadly mostly forgotten over time, this would be my top pick for a game that deserves a remaster/remake. Wheter you play it on dreamcast or gamecube you'll likely going to have a blast anyway. A timeless classic. Yakuza Like A Dragon -> Yeah i'm going to include it aswell, it's amazing how they changed the yakuza style and made it even better then it already was. They also replaced my favourite video game character of all time Kazuma Kiryu effortlessly. The new main protagonist Ichiban Kasuga is just a likeable and the support characters are deserving of their own game with their own back story yes they are that good. Final Fantasy 8 -> Kinda boring i know, i'll take it over 7 because it's the first final fantasy i played. Persona 4 Golden -> The main reason to keep a ps vita around, i'll just list persona 4 because i sadly haven't gotten around playing persona 5 yet, i have the game though, just don't know if i have the time to play trough it because i know once i start playing i'll hooked for the next few weeks.

Even if i don't win, i want to thank everybody who voted for me.

Hahaha, maybe i've got zero idea about woman but i don't think any female would pick a username like yours, don't get this wrong way there is nothing wrong with your username but @Head_Hunter is more something a guy would use as nickname imo.

Remasters that were worse than the originals
Yaramaki replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
You just know when you can call it a lazy port is that correct me if i'm wrong you can get some of the best weapons (which were dlc) in the game literally in the chest of the first town you visit + plus they also left the N7 armour in which always seemed a little odd to me. Surprising ea never made a problem about it. I played trough kingdoms of amalur remaster last year and while i diden't have any problems performance wise, it just hasen't aged that well from when i first played it like why aren't you able to jump off a cliff instead having to find a wooden jump off point which in turn you have to needlessly run around for no reason. I also find some of the side faction quests like the house of ballads more interesting then the main story which is kinda just your standard rpg afair, losing memory, characters that are forgetable. Still the best part about the game is the combat, graphics and also the monster designs are still as good as ever. -
Nevermind double post.

pretty sure he is talking about the remastered version of hot pursuit that originally came out in 2010, which was rereleased in 2020.
