  1. This console released smack in the middle of the 8th gen and 9th gen launch. Which begs the question, which generation does the switch belong to? I've gone back and forth with this matter but I think i'll go with 8th gen actually. Why? The 8th gen zeitgeist is still in effect and 9th gen won't takeover until the shortage ends and we get frequent next gen exclusives. By that time the Switch 2 will probably be out or at least be revealed to the public. The Switch on the other hand has coexisted for half a decade with 8th gen consoles. The argument people use for the switch being 9th gen is that it can't be since the Wii U is 8th gen but I would say the generational anchors are PS and Xbox since they are more relevant to gaming and both release at the same time every 7 years. Both the Wii U and the Switch are 8th gen. If anything I would say the Switch is the TRUE 8th gen entry since it is actually relevant and has power that rivals the other 8th gen consoles. It also coexisted with them longer, the Wii U only co-existed with them for 3 years, the Switch 5. The Wii U is more like a faux-8th gen console, a prototype Switch if you will.
  2. Here in england, they are nowhere near as popular and it's only zoomers I hear talking about virtual sports rarely.
  3. I strongly doubt that will happen. Sports are in a whole different league when it comes to popularity.
  4. Definitely 40. I don't want to have kids but if I did, i'd want to at least live the better part of my life first.
  5. Moral values are essential. Teaching my theoretical kid secondary languages that aren't spoken in the country we reside in is just for showing off.
  6. This gen will only have like 2 years of purely 9th gen games coming out before the 10th gen consoles comes out lol.
  7. 1-4th gen - Haven't really played much from these gens 5th gen - Final Fantasy 7 6th gen - Kingdom Hearts 2 7th gen - Tales of Vesperia 8th gen - Bayonetta 2 9th gen - Guilty Gear Strive
  8. Yes. Especially considering that Bayo 3 comes out this year or next year.
  9. I meant a regular game(not neccessarily water based) which has good underwater sections. Water focused games are built around it so they have to get it right whereas a lot of other game which has water sections in it drop the ball when it comes to those sections.
  10. I don't get what's so special about it. Looks like a souls game but just open world.
  11. It seems like underwater sections are almost universally loathed. From Mario to Sonic to Zelda, etc people hate going underwater. Do you think any game did it right? I would say Bayonetta 2 has the best underwater sections. I much prefer regular land gameplay but it isn't really unenjoyable like many other games. You can use snake within to bypass the floaty water physics for traversal. They don't drag on too long as well. I would say Darksiders 3 has passable underwater sections as well since you can use the force/gravity hollow form to keep yourself grounded like your walking on land.
  12. One of my pet peeves with Tales of Arise is they took out save points in favor of modernised manual and automatic saving. It seems like a pet peeve but I much prefer save points. It feels like there are actual stakes that way and once you beat a tough boss or get through a dungeon and see that shiny save point it feels so satisfying healing your team and saving your progress.
  13. I save at like 70% of the save points I come across. Don't want to take any chances and lose my progress. But if I feel there is another save point shortly after one that I see in the way then I wont bother saving instantly.
  14. In 2020 I got bored with my PS4 and Switch pro controller and brought modified versions. Dualsense is absolutely perfect though, I don't intend on buying a mod for that controller now or anytime in the near future.
  15. MGS5 I would say. There's a lot of ways to tackle situations although generally it's easiest to tranq pistol everyone.
  16. Final Fantasy X. The character models look lifeless.
  17. Final Fantasy X released in 2001 and looks more like it came out in 2011.
  18. Regular PS5. Being able to play all my PS4 games, use physical PS5 games and play DVDs is 100% worth the extra £50.
  19. Itsuno, Kamiya, Uematsu, Kojima and many more whose names I don't know
  20. I downloaded this game and started playing it last night. I've only beaten the first two stages but i'm in love. It's kind of like a 2.5D fighting game but single player and focused around building long combos. You can use special moves but there isn't a mana or meter system in this game. Instead it sacrifices your health. That's the best way I can describe the gameplay. The visual style look so crisp, I might have just skipped past this game if it hadn't caught my attentions this way. The soundtrack has bangers which really pumps you up as well. It also has an online mode which I will try out once I finish the game. I highly reccomend beat em up or 2D fighting game fans to try this game out.
  21. I didn't mean it was bad i meant it was just average which by definition isn't bad. Middle of the road games like this still feel very fun for me to play and are worth the bang for their buck.
