I see a market for the first Red Dead Redemption on the Switch, but for GTA IV? Eh not really, especially with VI coming out in a few years. If anything they could just wait to port GTA IV and V when the next Nintendo console is released which will most likely be a sequel to the Switch.

Yes but I still prefer the Gamecube because of the design lol. Not to mention the Wii name is still lame IMO, their prototype name was much better than the final name. Sure maybe those aren't the best reasons to not really care for a console, but meh.

What are your thoughts on the PlayStation Plus games each month?
Ravenfreak replied to Shortie's topic in Playstation
Most of the time the PS Plus games they offer for free are okay, but this month's line up was pretty good! I have the highest tier so I also have access to some PS1 and PS2 titles that are on the platform. I wish they would add my favorite RPG on the PS1, which is Legend of Legaia but I highly doubt it. The prices went up though, so it's quite expensive but I think it's worth it since it opens up a huge library of games. -
Oh man I wish I had this game. It would make it much easier to play burned games, I used to do the disc swap method when I was younger but I was always afraid that I would mess up either my PS1 or the disc since you have to quickly swap discs. I have no soldering skills yet, so I can't add a mod chip to my PS1. (I got a clock kit though so I can practice soldering for Christmas though!)

The Gamecube will always be my favorite Nintendo console. Sure the Wii is backwards compatible with it, but I never really cared for the motion controls for the Wii. I got my Gamecube before my PS2, so it was my main console for the sixth generation of gaming. I got it for Christmas of 2004 as mentioned in another thread. I think it was a underrated console, in fact I thought the graphics looked better than the PS2.

Would you like to see a Nintendo Switch 2 announced?
Ravenfreak replied to Shortie's topic in Nintendo
My prediction is that we'll see more information on Nintendo's next console early next year and then it'll be released during the Holiday season next year. I always thought it was odd that the Switch came out in March of 2017, and not during the Holiday season since most game consoles usually come out around Christmas. Will it be the Switch 2? Wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo comes up with some goofy name instead, since the WiiU wasn't the best name for their Wii successor. (I believe that's one of the reasons why it didn't sell as well.) -
I've heard Mega Man Battle and Chase is good. I've never played it myself though, it only came out here in the states via Mega Man X collection and you had to unlock it to play it. This came out in 1997 when a lot of other cart racers came out. I honestly don't think any cart racer beats Mario Kart though. There's also Sonic Drift 1 and 2 on the Game gear, but they're alright. The first one isn't as good as the sequel.

Mine was definitely my Nintendo Gamecube. I remember opening it for Christmas of 2004 and was super excited to hook it up! My grandma got it for me, and after we were done eating Christmas dinner she allowed me to hook it up to her tv and we played Mario Kart Double Dash! It was tons of fun! I believe this was the only Christmas I got a game console for, all my other consoles I got were either for my birthday or they were given to me randomly during my childhood.

Seeing how there were a ton of Squid Game mini games made on Roblox that were super popular, I can see a fully fledged video game working. The only problem is, if it's a Netflix exclusive game then it's not going to do well and probably will end up becoming lost media at some point. I know I wouldn't want to get a subscription to their gaming service just for this one game, I already don't like game streaming services since they run like garbage on my internet.

How often would you say you make clips when playing a game?
Ravenfreak replied to Shortie's topic in Gaming Forum
It depends on what game I'm playing. I'll usually only take clips if I found a glitch or if I'm recording footage for my Youtube channel. Other than that I normally don't take clips of games, especially not on my PS5.- 8 replies

What happened to these Minecraft door textures?
Ravenfreak replied to BlazeNinja22's topic in Video Games
I haven't seen this glitch in my copy. Are you playing the Java edition or Bedrock? Either way your best bet would be to reinstall the game and that should probably fix the problem. Looks like some of the doors are just using textures of other doors causing them to appear as unused assets. There was a unused windowless door that was found in the game, but it doesn't look like the textures in your game. (This is from the Java Edition.)- 4 replies

Do you use protective cases for all of your retro games?
Ravenfreak replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
I've been wanting to get some cases for a lot of my loose retro games, especially my Pokemon ones. I know there's custom cases you can buy off Etsy, since I don't have a printer I might actually go down this route and get a bunch of cases made for my Pokemon games. I also want to get cases for some of my Genesis titles too, for my loose Sonic games I just plan on getting additional copies of the games since I want legit cases and manuals for them. -
Over 1t worth of data hacked from Insomniac Games
Ravenfreak replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming News
The worst part of the hack is all the employee information that was stolen. Sure it absolutely sucks to see the projects you've been working on being leaked, but losing confidential information about the employees is a heck of a lot worse. -
He closed a video game shop decades ago. His games could sell for $1M.
Ravenfreak replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
Lucky guy, I wish I took better care of my games as a kid but like you said I wouldn't have been able to just let the game sit there and not be played especially as a kid. I don't think games from this generation or the previous are going to be worth as much unless their digital versions get delisted. It's a good thing he decided to hold on to them and not sell them in the past like he was originally going to do. -
Yep I remember doing this with some of my Sega Genesis games, I remember writing down my fastest times in the competition mode in my Sonic 3 manual. I sadly no longer own that copy anymore, so I can't go back and look at it. I remember writing down some cheats here and there too.

Because Sega does what everyone else don't. 😛 Jokes aside I'm hoping other companies will do what Sega is currently doing. I would love to see a new Gex game and perhaps with the remasters coming out next year there could be a new one. We haven't had a brand new Mega Man game outside of Dive. Capcom has done this before where we didn't get a new Mega Man game for a while, and that's how Mighty No. 9 came to be.

The retro market is getting pricey, are you worried as a collector?
Ravenfreak replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I am worried as a retro game collector, it's ridiculous on how prices keep going up. Thankfully I held on to all my Pokemon games from childhood, these go for way too much nowadays and repro carts are unreliable in most cases. The pandemic really helped amp up the prices of old games, since most people were stuck at home they were getting into playing their old consoles again and went out and bought games, causing prices to go up. -
Elon Musk gets mocked for saying violent games are bad
Ravenfreak replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
Honestly he deserves to be mocked, it's a game it's not real. The hateful posts he allows on his platform are real, and do real damage to minorities. He's just jumping on this bandwagon to get more brownie points from the right who oppose violent video games, especially ones like GTA. He's probably a person who puts the blame on violent media for how certain people act when video games do not cause violence. -
PS Plus is a service you could use to stream PS3 games, but it sucks unless you have a decent internet connection. Since at the time I tried it out I didn't have a way to hook my console up via a cable, I had to rely on my crappy wifi connection and games would never load properly. Now I just stick to playing the PS3 games I own on my PS3 Slim.

Ever attempt to clean a console and end up breaking it? I did. :(
Ravenfreak replied to Kane99's topic in Platforms
I've sort of done this myself. I technically didn't break one of my Sega Genesis Model 2 consoles, but I never could put the damn motherboard back in the shell properly. It's still not fully put together and the screws are in a Pokemon tin. :V You have to maneuver the motherboard into the shell a specific way and I can't figure it out. -
I loved Sonic Generations as well as the Left 4 Dead series, especially the second one. I remember when it first came out and playing the game with my spouse and our roommate at the time. We had just moved out of our parent's house since we were all in our early 20's. It was tons of fun playing local co-op together!

Can I move my old Xbox One hard drive to a new Xbox One?
Ravenfreak replied to Kane99's topic in Xbox
You can't switch drives around on a Xbox One, each hard drive is locked to one mother board. It's stupid if you ask me, since on the 360 you were easily able to switch around hard drives. You're better off trying to get the Xbox One repaired, and uploading your saved games to the cloud if you haven't yet. -
I usually don't preorder games unless they're from a franchise I really like since I'd rather have whatever extra bonuses it comes with. I'll just wait for GTA VI to get released and just purchase the game after it's out. GTA isn't one of my most favorite franchises, so I can wait to get the game. I haven't even played IV or V yet.
-
Honestly it used to be more important to me when I first got my 360 back in 2010, but now it really isn't that important. Now I just play games for the fun of it, though I don't mind trying to get all the achievements in a game.

I think this is good for those who don't care to purchase physical games, plus honestly I think black looks better on a console. Plus it's got more storage which is always a plus, sure you could buy an external drive but they're expensive. I have physical games in my collection so it wouldn't really be worth it for me. I have a feeling there's going to be a good number of people getting one of these for Christmas this year.
