  1. Sonic comes close to Mario in terms of spin offs but Mario definitely has the most. There was going to be an even earlier educational Sonic game called Sonic Edusoft for the Sega Master System but it got canceled. There's a prototype of the game online though. There's also a few Sega Pico titles that are educational too, Tails and the Music Maker along with Sonic the Hedgehog's Gameworld. (Though the Pico was targeted young toddlers, in fact I was the demographic for the console when it was released since it came out when I was 4 lol.) So the thought of educational Sonic games isn't too bizarre. You've also got the Leapster Sonic game too, and that's a educational handheld. I think Mario only has one educational game? I could be wrong about that.
  2. To me music is the third most important aspect of a game. I'd rather the game have a good soundtrack than good graphics. I also enjoy listening to video game music while browsing the internet and even while I'm cleaning. It really helps immerse you into the game, Tomb Raider is probably my favorite example of this. Music cues only play during certain moments in a level, sometimes it's used to warn you about upcoming danger, other times it's used to showcase the moment.
  3. I prefer wired headphones myself, but I wouldn't mind getting a wireless headset or pair of headphones. I might actually ask for one for my birthday, my headphones still work fine but I've had them for a few years now and my kitten likes to try and play with the cord lol. I don't like earbuds though, I think they're a waste of money and they don't fit me right anyways.
  4. I would love a remake of Fighting Force too! Years ago I played it with a friend, then I played Streets of Rage and thought it reminded me of FF. Makes sense, after all Fighting Force is what the original Streets of Rage 4 was going to be. Sega sold the assets they made for SoR 4 to Core. It's a fun 3D beat em up, I think the genre was getting a bit stale when it came out and maybe that's why some people didn't like it? I loved it and I have a copy of the game now.
  5. Honestly I'm paranoid and because I am I haven't cleaned any of my computers. :S I need to get around to cleaning my desktop at least since it's pretty easy to take apart. I just need to get some compressed air and take it outside. I have a old desktop I've been wanting to setup to see if I can use it for just a server, though I know the graphics card in that is probably dead since it was going out when I stopped using the computer. Perhaps giving it a good cleaning is all it needs but it's 10 years old at this point. I'm less paranoid about taking that computer apart since it's not my main computer.
  6. I finished up Young Justice the other night, it was the last show I watched. I was hoping we'd get a season 5 someday, but with it's track record of getting cancelled three times I just don't see it happening. It was amazing, I really like how they've written a few of my favorite DC characters like Tara Markov and Garfield Logan. (Terra and Beast Boy/Changeling)
  7. Sega is still my favorite game developer, I love that they've revived Streets of Rage and are reviving some of their other IPs like Golden Axe too. Heck even Sonic Team is fine, I know there's a few Sonic games that could have been better but generally speaking the majority of Sonic games are decent at best. Sega also has the Yakuza/ Like a Dragon games which I've heard are good and I've been meaning to give them a go someday.
  8. Trust me when I say it's not as bad as Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric. It isn't even near as bad as Sonic 06 either, it's an okay game. Stay away from the PS2 version, the Gamecube or Xbox versions are better. I used to defend the game more when I was 16 since I really loved it back then, but now I can see it's alright. There are a few different endings to get so if you do play it, you'll be replaying it quite often. I know a few people who obtained all the endings. Honestly the internet is way too harsh on Sonic as a whole, sure there are some bad 3D games but the majority of them aren't too terrible. They're not as good as the 2D games, but they're good. (Not all of them of course!)
  9. Honestly back when I first got my first computer and had access to the internet, I started playing games less and posting on forums more. This was back in 2008, and I did this for a while. I also don't game as much because I don't have as much time, though I've been getting more into video games again as of late since I've been focusing on my Youtube channel and it's gaming related.
  10. I used to have a subscription to Nintendo Power as a kid, and I remember going to the grocery store with my parents and going straight to the magazine section to look at the video game magazines. I hardly ever got the ones from the store since they were super expensive, but the Nintendo Power magazines helped me get the three Regis in Pokemon Ruby. I didn't have a computer at the time to look up guides, so yeah I do miss when magazines were the way to get information about upcoming games as well as walkthroughs. I know there is a magazine called the Retro Gamer that you can still purchase online, in fact one of the writers is part of the Sonic community which is cool.
  11. I think eventually mobile gaming may be close to being on par with console gaming, not sure about PC gaming though. Technology moves fast and PC specs can easily change just by purchasing the latest graphics card, and upgrading your CPU and getting more RAM. Phones and consoles are always going to be a little behind since you can't just swap out parts to make them run smoother like you can on a PC.
  12. I finally got around to finishing this series up last night. Young Justice was a animated series that aired on Cartoon Network that focused around a young superhero team. The team consisted of Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Speedy (for a short time), Artemis, Miss Martian, and Superboy but eventually grew and the show added a handful of young super heroes as the series went on. Unfortunately the show was cancelled after the first season, then it came back for a couple more seasons, got cancelled and came back for a final season in 2021 and has been cancelled yet again. I still like Teen Titans just a tad bit more than YJ, but I loved Young Justice and wish it didn't get cancelled. My favorite character from the earlier seasons is Kid Flash, but once Beast Boy joined the team he became my favorite since he's my second favorite Titan. Does anyone else like this show?
  13. For live action shows my favorites were Tales From the Crypt, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Malcolm in the Middle, and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. For animated shows Rugrats and Teen Titans were my top two favorite shows. Rugrats was originally my favorite of all time until Teen Titans came out in 2003.
  14. I've been lucky enough not to worry about stick drift, but I also usually use a pro controller when playing my Switch. My wife has a Switch lite and hasn't had any issues with the sticks on her console either yet. Hopefully Nintendo will fix this issue with future releases, you'd think they would have contacted the manufacturer sooner when this started becoming a problem...
  15. My favorite Playstation design is a tie between the fat PS2 and fat PS3. My least favorite is definitely the PS5, reminds me of a router lol. Plus I like having all black consoles myself, but thankfully the side plates can be removed and you can get black ones. (Though funny enough I own two silver slim PS2 models...) I also don't really care for the PS3 super slim.
  16. I'm hoping people will start to back these up on the Internet Archive then. This is another example of why digital only for the future is not the way to go, eventually no one will be able to legally obtain these games in the future unless you happened to buy them while they were still available to purchase. I never played any of these Adult Swim titles, but it's still a shame to see games being delisted.
  17. Were there any shareware titles you played that you actually liked? I remember my grandma had picked up a couple of shareware compilations for the PC back in the late 90's. They were called Millennium Gamepak and Millennium Gamepak gold. I liked a few games in both collections, but man I bet she could have easily been able to download these games for free from a website or at least had flash versions easily available to play. I used to play Botz, Bloobs, and Uz the most on the first Millennium Gamepak collection, the other collection had shorter games and I don't really recall which games were my favorites on that collection. I know there's some shareware versions of games like Doom that were floating around the internet during the early years.
  18. I loved the movies and will be checking this game when it comes out. I've always been a fan of paranormal movies, and thought the movies did a pretty good job of depicting a haunting. (I believe in ghosts but that's for a different thread.) I'll have to tell my wife about this since she loved those movies too. Her and my mother in law tagged along with me when the first one came out and they freaked out but it didn't scare me lol. The game on the other hand will probably freak me out more.
  19. Well it looks like another emulator was also affected by this lawsuit, Citra was also affected by this since the same team working on Yuzu was working on this 3DS emulator. It really does suck, emulators aren't tools for piracy, anyone who had the means to back up their Switch games could have used Yuzu to play the games they own on a computer, which would allow for smoother frame rates and a better overall performance. But of course people use emulation for piracy too. I can understand stopping emulation development for a current gen console but for one that isn't even being supported anymore is ridiculous.
  20. I currently do not own a smart watch, however the company I work for gives out watches for every five year anniversary and since this is my fifth year anniversary I will be getting a smart watch at the end of the year. It probably won't be an expensive one, but I'll take it since it's free and you can't beat that lol.
  21. I can't wait for the Gex Trilogy! I love Gex Enter the Gecko as well as Gex 3, and I can't wait to play remastered versions of these games. I was hoping we'd get more information about them soon though, it'll be a year in July since it was announced.
  22. Sonic CD is definitely the best game on the system. I have a Sega CD and a copy of Sonic CD, I prefer the Japanese soundtrack though. Anyways I highly recommend playing the 2011 remake by Christian Whitehead and Simon Thomly (The Taxman and Stealth if you're in the sonic hacking community like I am) it runs much better than the original version. I've been meaning to play Lunar, I have it on PSP. I loved Shining Force on the Genesis so I'm sure if I played the Sega CD version I'd love it as well. I'm not a fan of point and click games, so I will never play Snatcher but I have watched someone else play it and I loved the story. Good luck getting real physical copies of these games though btw, they're expensive. (Sonic CD is on the cheaper end but it's still worth $70. Thankfully I got my copy back in 2009.) I love Earthworm Jim and the CD version of the soundtrack is awesome. I never played Popful Mail, but fun fact there was supposed to be a rebranding of the game with Sonic characters but those plans fell through. It was called "Sister Sonic" and was supposed to star a random character that was supposed to be Sonic's sister. https://info.sonicretro.org/Sister_Sonic
  23. I noticed that my favorite Sonic fan music composer worked on a game called Duel Revolution, which is a Pokemon clone and it's free to play on Steam too. I haven't started playing it just yet, but from what I've seen and heard from his music it's definitely more of a Pokemon clone than Palworld is lol. Since I love monster collecting games, I decided to go ahead and download it. From the screenshots it looks like the graphics are similar to the graphics from Generation 3 of Pokemon. Though unfortunately it looks like it's got mostly negative reviews. I usually don't pay attention to reviews, I play a game and determine if I like it or not. Anyways if you're a fan of monster collecting games, it wouldn't hurt checking this game out since it's free. It's also on mobile too. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2319160/Duel_Revolution/
  24. Gotta say, I wasn't expecting to see a game based on a classic movie! You'd think they would have came out with a mediocre tie in game back in the day. Funny enough I just made a thread talking about movie tie in games, I guess they still make them here and there but I haven't really heard much about them until now lol. I don't think I ever actually sat down and watch this movie though.
  25. If you're interested in emulation and want a way to play games on your phone, you could look into adding emulators. If it's a iPhone, you'll have to jailbreak it but if it's Android as long as you've got it connected to the internet to get the emulators and games you'll be fine to play it wherever and don't have to worry about being online.
