  1. We're just over one week away from Season 4 of NBA 2K23 and it's shaping up to be a great introduction to a new year! With the current season winding down, we're looking at what could be on the horizon with the next major content update. Here's everything you need to know about Season 4 of NBA 2K23 including the release date and any leaked info we have so far. NBA 2K23 Season 4 release date Season 4 of NBA 2K23 is expected to release on Friday, 10 January 2023. This is in line with the launch of previous seasons and we're not expecting any changes to the schedule at this time. When it comes to timings, the Season 4 update should drop at 8 am PT / 11 am ET / 4 pm GMT. We'll bring you a detailed breakdown of content updates and patch notes as soon as they're live. Whether you play MyTeam, MyCareer or both, there will be plenty on offer to get hyped about. Season 4 leaks As of right now, there are no major leaks for Season 4 content in NBA 2K23. We'll be keeping our eyes peeled as usually, this kind of stuff starts to leak in the days leading up to the launch of a new season. We know the basics, 40 tiers of rewards split between a MyTeam and MyCareer pass but the overall theme of Season 4 will determine what these rewards will look like. It's been an exciting season for limited runs as we've seen Fireworks, New Years' Resolution, Festive Collections and the Christmas Limited Event. That does leave Season 4 at risk of being a little bit of a letdown in the events department but we're sure there'll be some busted players released who can help improve your MyTeam starting five.
  2. Rocket League is all about complicated car-football fun. Ranked play, and ranks in general, are extremely important in Psyonix's game--just like MMR. It's not just about getting you from unranked to those upper tiers, but also about understanding the effect that this system has on the game itself. That's the thing about Rocket League ranks--they are essential to make the game challenging, fair and interesting, but they are not really the game's make-or-break system. All of this being said, we're going to take you through everything there is to know about Rocket League ranks. Rocket League Ranks Explained The Rocket League ranks system relates to gameplay made in the game's ranked/competitive mode. Here, players progress their way through the ranks after completing a placement round of ten matches that will place them in a starting rank. Each of RL's three most popular queues features a ranking system: 1v1 playlist 2v2 playlist 3v3 playlist It doesn't matter whether you're playing solo or with your friends: there are a total of 23 different tiers for you to climb. After completing the initial placement rounds, you will start your journey pretty far down and have to climb your way to the highest Rocket League rank--Supersonic Legend. To place here, you need to have exceptional talent at Rocket League, and be a super devoted player and fan. Rocket League pros are often not even ranked this high, as they do not necessarily focus on climbing the ladder. The Influence Of MMR And Ranked Disparity To combat smurfing and creating a fun and fair ranking atmosphere for everybody, Psyonix introduced Ranked Disparity a while ago. Basically, it's a system to balance Competitive Play--players need to be within a certain amount of ranks of one-another to queue up ranked. That's actually it... quite simple, right? However, if you want to dive deeper into RL's ranked disparity, we've got a dedicated article about it. MMR on the other hand stands for matchmaking rank and is one of the most important numerals in Rocket League. It determines the opponents that you will face off against in multiplayer--matches are played against players who are of a similar standing to you, with a combination of MMR and general ranked progression aiding you in your progress. Your MMR and rank may seem quite similar, yet so different... and that's kinda true. Rocket League Ranked Rewards Or Why You Should Rank Up Ranking up in Rocket League is relatively easy if you have the time to devote to it, as it just requires a ton of practice and a ton of victories. It's up to you if that seems worth it, but keep in mind that ranked or competitive rewards await you at the end of each season. What you'll get depends on what rank you achieved in one of Rocket League's three main modes. That's also the main difference compared to the Rocket Pass rewards, as you can also get some XP by losing your matches. In order to get the competitive rewards, though, you MUST win. A lot.
  3. That's according to dedicated ResetEra(opens in new tab) researchers, who have compiled Elden Ring's total Game of the Year awards, and deduced that FromSoftware's latest currently sits at a staggering 324 wins. That officially beats The Last of Us Part 2's awards, which totalled 322 back in 2020. Taking a slightly deeper look at things, Elden Ring appears to have won a grand total of 281 Game of the Year awards from media outlets (including us here at GamesRadar+). Additionally, the action-RPG took home 43 awards from polls voted on by audiences rather than media outlets. All told, that's 324 awards. Elden Ring looks to have absolutely dominated Game of the Year voting around the world for 2022, leaving God of War Ragnarok in the dust at 74 total awards. The Last of Us 2 performed a similar feat a few years ago, with Supergiant's fantastic Hades in second place with 64 Game of the Year awards. Elden Ring claimed its first Game of the Year title all the way back in September of last year, so perhaps it's not any huge surprise that outlets and readers alike were lining up to heap praise on it by the end of the year. Elden Ring could be lined up for similar success next year, if a recent datamine holds true.
