  1. I agree with you on that I grew up without internet for a portion of my life and only had a land line at MOST , generally we spent time together outside as a family or you just learned to spend time alone being creative to entertain yourself. Now adays if you don't instantly agree with someone its almost 100% going to be an argument and that person would rather just find a group of people that agree with them instead of pushing their mental limits of what they "know". Can say dating these days is actually a really tricky thing since no one wants to admit their wrong anymore or be open to change. Its either they believe 100% what they think they know or they dont trust anyone because they know nothing xD and generally its the ones thinking they know everything that know nothing at all REEEE Still technology has helped alot and made life much more convenient but it took away all the substance from life at the same time. Most people don't even know the smell of a camp fire, the taste of a real home cooked meal or the sounds of nature. Not on a true deep level that happens on a regular basis ofc. I think a shift will come in the future where more people want to experience natural real life experiences orrrr if that doesnt happen we just fall deeper into the rabbit hole of technology and dont return on humanity is forced to XDDD
  2. That's absolutely epic as well xDD ahhh I cant wait to be an old man gaming and just going "noobs I've been playing games for 65 yearsss back in my dayyy we had joysticks and cheetosssss" True and not counting they can borrow friends systems and phones with much easeeeee
  3. Yeah its true xD , for me staying here its been difficult especially in the start... I remember trying to play world of warcraft when Vanilla re dropped and I had to run a VPN the entire time and it pretty much killed me trying to access it , but they did allow the Chinese version to be played with "less blood" however it was almost 100% identical.. I personally think a lot of it has to do with Chinese companies profiting off of it more than if they were buying directly from western countries. Like the version of LOL thats here is much more vulgar in terms of character images. Almost all are super sexual and targeting to young boys desire to see half naked sexy girls. Thankfully they do make decent games though and their really cheap to play IMO
  4. Honestly now adays you would have to completely monitor your child / restrict them from anything connected to the internet, television , phones etc if you wanted to keep them away from violence, guns, murder, drama, sex, or really anything a child should probably avoid. Me and all my friends grew up playing band of brothers style games, 007 and countless other games that involved killing each other. The issue is the combination of the current society and these games/ other related things which breed a risk factor. I remember my youngest brother had a name "A 5 year old" on games so whenever he would kill you online it would say "you've been killed by a 5 year old", or "you've killed a 5 year old" and it was the most comical thing ever. Especially on world of warcraft XD
  5. Actually a great topic, I feel gaming can build a great adult depending on what games you get involved in at an early age. If it wasn't for games I def wouldn't be who I am or where I am today and I will surely throw my children into MMORPGS and single player Sim style/age of empire games from an early age. Ofc they will have books and documentaries thrown down their throats too. < edit changed "though" to "too" EOS
  6. Oh most def... Growing up playing WoW or Runescape online whenever we would do pvp matches or just catch someone randomly that was no lifing PvP it was extremelyyy common to kill someone and keep track of it and everytime you seen that person youd go "10-2 KID" even though we were all kids.. It was infuriating to be better than someone and die to them do to lag or a mistake or just sheer RNG luck xD. Even more infuriating to experience someone who was better than you at the game to be on the other side of the 2-10 scenario xDDD Offline playing with friends on games like mortal combat or similar fighting games it was a true disaster waiting to happen / fights do to it. I remember being someone who rarely played the games long term to practice combo's or juggling damage but my little brothers/ friends would spend hours trying to perfect stuff just to troll you with and show their superiority absolutely raging if they lost XDD I knew my brothers "were better" than me at the games but I was extremely good at remember the button combinations because memorizing cheat codes were similar for most games back then so it was just something I was good at so I would make sure Id choose a character button combination to similar cheat codes or extremely trolly tactics to use. Actually I would always act like I was good at the fighting games just to piss them off and would win 2-3 times in a row then quit fighting them just to piss them off XDD I knew if I kept versing them within a few more matches I would surely lose lolololol but I never let them know that .
  7. Haha thats so funny XD I know in China almost all games you can play with foreigners are banned though, they want absolutely noooo one communicating with the outside world TBH unless its to shittalk people overseas xdddd Loot boxes are def pretty much gambling and Malaysia means that it makes you want to chase "power" and if I'm not mistaken Malaysia is heavily Muslim.
  8. I think year of the dragon was the only one I remembered by name xD, I know warlock had posted his youtube videos and I had played those as well but it being so long ago my poor brain deleted all the information XDDD
  9. Haha honestly I haven't purchased a console since the PS2 xddddd I've played on the PS3 but that was the last gen I've touched. It's crazy to see how far the graphics have came though / the physics.
  10. Hiya Guys ^.^, It's been an awesome time here on VGR so far and want to say thank you for being kind ,welcoming as well all the great content and conversations. So long story short I've been making Empire Of Sight for almost a year now, I started with just a concept and zero experience in terms of creating , layering, or in general making a game by hand. I've been involved in gaming since I was young and even ran a few businesses revolving around the gaming industry. I started this project December 2021 as a game for a community that I was apart of and happened to have a friend I had met who was a fullstack developer as well really passionate about wanting to create something he could own a part of. We both started with almost zero skills in regards to development but we've kept running and have finally gotten to a point where we are about to release our "Prototype" of the game. We've already run the beta stages and decided to make the prototype much easier to level/higher damage than the Main Game we will launch in November but its still a fun little way to get to know the games "concept" as well a way to get some cool items in "NFT" form that you'll be able to use in the Main Game. I played a few P2E games last year and seen that they were all pretty rough in the terms of Web3 as well Web2 designs.. They all missed the mark by either being "just print money" or without any real "game" at its core so I started my grind in the hopes of producing a fun game for a lot of my friends and close community members who wanted to be able to own their assets / transfer them to future games in the blockchain form as well sell to others if anyone would want them of course 😄 Empire Of Sight is not a "mint to earn game" it's a monthly subscription based MMORPG with no promises of earned income or fancy pie charts, it's just my take on what I see Web3 being while using Web2 or as Id like to say the games we grew up on no matter what console it was. I'm not sure what to expect long term with the games I'm making but I really enjoy it and see a potential in the future for games like this even if they aren't going to have 30million players. I would be happy to even get 500 people online with a community of people who like to larp around and kill monsters, craft, use alchemy, cook and mine XD The game itself is a 2D MMORPG built around ERC-1155 Technology, the prototype will be around 5-10% of the content and map size of the main game. The main game will have thousands of hours of gameplay and tons of updates in the future. Empire Of Sight also has the ability to create, join a guild or party. You will have a friends list , chat box in game, the ability to trade, buy and sell your items with NPCs as well players. I plan to use the same style of combat system as OldSchool Runescape as well a blend of Path of Exiles/Wow in the terms of way you play the game. Right now the level player cap will be 100 but the highest monster level in the main game will only be 83 for now as I want to leave room for expansions. I'll just leave a trailer here for now and the website link, you can't currently buy membership as we are finishing up some things but you can look at the website even though I'll be changing some content on it as the goals have changed in a few ways so the content wont be 100% accurate at the moment. Feel free to chat about it as I would love feedback, ideas, and some criticism from you guys ❤️ It was my first time ever editing a video so be gentle on me XDDD. I'll be making another one closer to Sep 3rd when we release the prototype live for people to play! Here's the trailer link: Website : https://www.empireofsight.com/ I plan to edit this thread as the game develops / changes are made and I may even remove some of the text above depending on how everything goes. Thanks again guys for making me feel comfortable here on VGR ^.^ EOS
  11. That's true, I think a proper course or institute that caters to the youth will help, however I will say that if you do no life you are generally a better player than most at any game you play, and of course there's exceptions however the more you do something you general become better so that will drive even those who go to institutes to no life until they get to the highest tier. It would require legit time locks on games and ID verification to keep people from playing all the time which is kind of what China does but its still avoidable and you can do w.e you want if you take the proper channels. 12. If this is short and dumpy the world would be a much prettier place XDDDD
  13. Breaking bad would generally just focus on making drugs and killing people XD Like 1/100th storyline of GTA butttt I think its possible if it was ran somewhat like an MMORPG where you leveled up by cooking meth and selling it, or like a Moba style drama where you get to choose a character for a 30 minute period and whoever cooks the most meth or sells it wins, but it would just be a minigame.
  14. My girlfriend enjoyed Resident Evil but honestly they make almost every show now sooo political or gender conscious related that it was almost impossible for me to "enjoy enjoy" considering playing the games on the Ps1< ofc I used cheats butttt same same but different XD Would be cool to see a movie adaption of left 4 dead. EOS
  15. Surprising considering she was everyones hot fantasy during the entire series...
  16. Would have to say Vice city was bar far the thing that ate most of my time up on a Ps2 xD Need for speed and burnout came in close to 2nd for each of them though. Cant forget devil may cry < Reason for Edit haha
  17. Haha yeah its def from the snack! Funny too because its a really derogatory term as well... Will let you figure that one out on your own hahaha. Thank god they aren't getting rid of them, they are about as iconic as the twinky in terms of ice cream treats xD Yeah I watched a part of his video after you mentioned him, I've never personally played PUBG but it looks really fun.
  18. Lol watching one of his videos now just because his name XD Was my favorite icecream "snack" growing up but they discontinued it now for whatever mind blowing unreasonable reasonnn they could come up with... That's a good feature though and is kind of what Runescape does within their tournaments for DeadMan Mode.
  19. Ahhh 2005, waking up at 3am in the morning before school to play "Runescape" or staying up all night at a friends house for weeks on end playing WoW or halo. Sleeping in class all day just so I could have the energy to play all night again.
  20. Found this randomly, assuming its because I watched the Spyro video's a few days ago xD EOS
  21. Actually I think doing a 24 hour livestream of your life would be fun and depending on your style of streaming it could be massive. Like if you just streamed without ever acknowledging the audience? Would almost be 100% reality T.V compared to chat rooming with whoever is viewing. Could be an interesting future coming on the streaming end considering the how well blockchain could integrate into that. Do you stream ?
  22. I always thought Battlefield was a good game but I haven't played it in years. Never heard of Takes Two though but after reviewing it looks great for couples play with someone you are in a relationship with. Speaking of failed games , I really didn't enjoy the mario/bowser series on the swift.. It just seemed rushed and not too enjoyable. Lets pray for Skate though it might entice a few people to return to that type of game.
