Would you say Best Buy has the best computer selection and deals?
Shortie replied to melanie_marie27's topic in PC
Where I live we don't have a Best Buy but I have spoken to people in the past who have used Best Buy to purchase things like PCs and have said that they have had a great experience with them. Newegg is somewhere I knew about and I have looked on Newegg before in the past for PCs and even laptops but I haven't actually purchased from Newegg. I know people that have though and they were happy with the service. -
It is a shame that there are not more places around like there used to be for PC gaming. Xbox Game Pass for PC is about the only reliable one now that I know of and all the others seem to have just disappeared. It's a shame as people usually want to be able to have a choice of places to use and not just have the option of one place or nothing.

There are a few games I could recommend that I enjoy a lot when playing mobile games. Match Masters is one that I have played in the past and still play frequently that I enjoy and not sure if you are into anything like pool but I also play 8 Ball Pool by Mini Clip which is a lot of fun to play as well.

I completely agree with you. Many users of the app do follow for follow until they get to 1000 followers for live access and most of them don't even end up going live with anything entertaining or even fun yet they call themselves content creators. I have seen so many people who go live and just dance around not even dancing to anything just to be live and others are just live staring at the screen at the chat. The problem at the moment is that TikTok allows this sort of content and it will eventually drag them down so unless they change something, it's not going to get any better any time soon.

Remedy Games want to make a new game each year starting in 2023
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
A new game every year for the next 4 years is not bad at all. I remember playing Alan Wake and it was a fun game to play, I really enjoyed it so I am looking forward to seeing what Alan Wake 2 has to offer. Also excited to see what Remedy Games has planned for the next 4 years as well. -
Microsoft cuts jobs in HoloLens, Surface, Xbox as layoffs continue
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
This is very true. It's such a shame that so many are being laid off just to as you stated 'cut the fat' just so it looks better for them. Hopefully all those who do get laid off are able to get a job somewhere else doing what they enjoy. Not the greatest of times at the moment to be laid off but as you say, it's all business and that is how it works. -
I think that is one of the reasons I do not play it as much as I could. I tend to play it with randoms and that can get repetitive over time and just becomes boring as you get burned out with it. Playing with friends add to the fun and changes things a little.

It does seem to be getting a lot of positive reviews. I am at the moment avoiding anyone playing it as I don't want to have it spoiled for me ready for when I end up finally getting to play it myself. I agree, some fans are against it because of what J.K. Rowling has said but I really do not think that the game developers should suffer because of something that was said. Many are still playing the game regardless and I have heard that even friendships have been broken due to people playing the game which I think is a little too far fetched.

Sure do. I have so many games not only ones that I have bought but also ones that I have gained access to through either Nintendo Switch Online or Game Pass and my backlog of games just keeps growing and growing. Most I will probably never play as I don't have a lot of time to be able to play them but I am hoping that I will be able to play quite a few of them when I have the time. So many games, so little time.

Microsoft cuts jobs in HoloLens, Surface, Xbox as layoffs continue
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Considering they are interested in buying Activision/Blizzard these layoffs are not looking too promising right now. It's pretty much sure that if they purchase Activision, they will more than likely continue the lay offs. Makes you wonder what they are planning if anything at this point as lay offs sure do not sound good. -
Characters that changed a lot over the course of a game or games
Shortie replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I didn't play a lot of Bully as it wasn't a game I really enjoyed myself but my son played it a lot when it first came out and for years after that and I saw a lot of it as he played and I would definitely have to say that Jimmy Hopkins has got to be the one character I have seen change the most in a video game from start to finish. -
This is very true. In most cases they look at how much different features are being used and when they see a decline in a feature such as split screen they will just take it away even though there may be a small minority of people who still use the split screen feature and love to use it. I know Epic Games tried split screen with Fortnite and as much as that was a good thing to try, it never really worked I felt just because of how confusing it made the game. Single player games though would be where split screen would be used more.

TikTok seem to want to branch out more to give streamers and content creators another alternative to share their content and also bring their live streams. I know under the Twitch TOS if you are a partner or an affiliate you can not restream to anywhere else but they do make an exception for TikTok so many people use TikTok with it having such a big viewer base to direct people to their Twitch streams or even YouTube streams. I have seen live streams of people playing video games with over 400 viewers which is pretty amazing. I am hoping to gain live access again myself and give TikTok a try to see how it goes.

What platform did you spend most of your time playing on in 2022?
Shortie replied to Shortie's topic in Gaming Forum
Are they still really difficult to get hold of? I thought that stock issues had got better. I don't blame you, I definitely would not buy from scalpers either, they charge way too much and it's just not worth it when you could just wait and pick on up at retail price when they are in stock. -
Last game I played again was Fortnite. Played a few solo games the other day to try and get another win but no luck yet. I did see that Hot Wheels is available on Game Pass though so I am hoping to find some time to play that.

The games I used to love to play that were from movies are the Harry Potter games. I remember I used to sit and play them for hours they were so enjoyable and I am super eager to be able to play Hogwarts Legacy when I can get it. I remember playing so many Harry Potter games from as early as PS2 up until Xbox 360 and even the Lego Harry Potter games I enjoyed a lot as well.

I didn't even know they were releasing a Super Mario Bros movie. I remember the one with Bob Hoskins but I never really fully enjoyed that one and I feel it was because it was not animated so didn't feel the same. This one looks like a movie I would watch and enjoy with it being animated. My kids would also enjoy this movie as well.

Yes, games years ago would make more sense to do speed runs on as it was always you had so many lives and once they were gone that was it you had to start again. This would have made speed runs more fun to watch as well due to the risk of having to start again. Now speed runs can work but they don't have that risk of losing it all and having to completely start again.

Many people who pre-ordered the deluxe edition ended up getting it 3 days early on the 7th. I have watched a few people playing it but haven't watched it for long as I do not want the game spoiled. I am hoping to get it myself soon when I can afford it and I am super excited t play it. So far many people are happy with the game so that is always a good sign.

Just had a look on the Play Store and found it. Installing it as I type this to give it a try and see what it is like. I always like to have games on my phone for times when you need them such as if traveling, maybe waiting for appointments or even if say your internet goes out. Seems like the kind of game I would enjoy.

I never actually tried it on PC myself. I only tried it on Xbox and as much as it was good, it was never very accurate and could be frustrating to find enough space for it to even work, it seemed like you needed way too much space and being that most people have their consoles in a living room, that would have caused a problem. I am curious now though just how much better it was on PC over the Xbox. I wonder if it was anymore accurate?

That would be interesting. We have something similar over here in the UK called Family Fortunes and again, it's random surveys that are used for the game. Something like that would be awesome to be involved with and with it being random surveys, that is one way to combat any kind of cheating as well keeping the game fun and interesting.

Got to give Xbox props for that, they do try to include all gamers with all different needs for their console. I love how they even do what they can to make gaming accessible for all even with disabilities. I know at least two people who are disabled, one of them who I met on Mixer and now is a big streamer on Facebook, Nomad plays Xbox with his face and also SightlessKombat who I also met on Mixer and now streams on Twitch is blind and he plays. Being able to see things like that and knowing that Xbox have made it possible for them to do that is amazing.

Yeah when I heard they had canceled split screen after so long it was quite a shock. Many people especially on a game like Halo would love to still be able to sit and split screen with their friends. Like you say it's some of the fondest memories and split screen in Halo would bring back some serious memories. I really feel like them canceling split screen was a bad move on their part.

This is very true. Some people get addicted to achievement hunting and if they are having fun doing that then that is understandable. If it becomes more like a chore to be hunting for achievements and you are finding yourself getting bored and not having fun, that would be the time to look at why you are doing it and whether you should continue. I know for a while it was like a trend for people to achievement hunt and everyone would compare gamerscores. Nowadays it's not quite as popular.
