What older games do you want to see get extensive overhauls?
Shortie replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I have said this many times and I still stick by it even now. I would love to see Simpsons Hit and Run and Simpson Road Rage get extensive overhauls and be remade or remastered and released for the newer consoles. I absolutely loved the first release of both these games and being able to see them get an overhaul and released again would be amazing and great to play through again. -
How much are you willing to pay for remasters and remakes?
Shortie replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
For me it really depends on the game in question that has been remastered or remade, how much I enjoyed it after it was first released and whether I feel it would be worth purchasing it again. If it was a game I really enjoyed and I had already paid money for the first release I would love for it to be a free upgrade but unfortunately, I don't think any developers would offer and upgrade for free so if it really came down to it and I wanted to own a remaster or remake, I would wait until it had a price drop and try and get it for around $25 or less. -
I agree and even now some of the achievements needed are a lot more as well and many do not stop at 1000 gamer score now but continue for quite a bit more. I don't know what the highest gamer score is now for a game but I know I have seen some for as high as 1250. Hunting for achievements now is very time consuming, in some cases I would say the challenges for them can be very time consuming just for one achievement in a game.

When I had my 360, I would sit and spend a lot of time completing games and then going back through them to complete certain things to unlock achievements. I remember I had quite a few games that I had 1000 gamerscore on that I would work through until I had completed them all. Nowadays I don't tend to achievement hunt as much as I used to and only do, I ever really get achievements now if I am playing a game and come across them. I would love to go back to achievement hunting like I used to but not having as much time now is the biggest issue.

I have noticed that Candy Crush is still something people do play but it doesn't seem as popular as it used to be back when it was first released. When it was first released, I got dragged into the hype and would spend a chunk of time on the game trying to get past levels on it, the levels kept getting more and more difficult to get past and it soon became apparent that I would have to put money into the game for powerups to progress further or stay where I was for a long period. That was when I decided to move away from the game, and I haven't played it in so long now.

I just recently switched from my provider of over 10 years to another provider because they were offering more GB for the same price I was paying on my previous provider. I am now with a provider called Smarty which my family have been with for a while. I get 4GB of data, unlimited texts and calls for £6 a month and I was paying £6 a month for 1GB of data, unlimited texts and calls. So, I am now getting 3GB more for the same price I was paying on my old provider. My new provider Smarty also gives you money back for any date you don't use as well so in theory you are also saving money each month as well which I think is pretty awesome. The move over and the keeping of my number was super easy and I haven't had any issues at all since I moved over last month.

I think the most I have ever myself spent on a mobile game was on Minecraft for my Android device and that was around £4. In terms of anything else such as addons or in game purchases the most I have spent on my kids accounts when they have wanted things with say pocket money or such is around £50 and that was when my eldest wanted to buy the biggest upgrade, they had on WWE Supercards with money he had saved. I usually don't tend to buy anything in mobile games as I don't play them enough myself, but my kids play them a lot so them buying things in the games makes sense.

I honestly never think to use an anti-virus on my mobile phone even though I know I probably should as it is connected to the internet and even though it's not a PC it's always possible that things can get through and affect your phone. I had heard Malwarebytes is available on mobile phones which is what I use on my PC as well and that works really well but I hadn't really looked into anti-virus apps for a mobile phone. Going to do some research on this at some point as I am curious because I haven't had any issues with my mobile over the years, but you never can be too careful.

E3 is still a way off but it's always fun to talk about and make speculations about what we may see. I for one am excited to see it back next year and really missed it this year when they didn't do it as it's always something I look forward to every year and there is always some really great announcements when E3 comes around. I've been saying it for a while and it probably will never happen but to see Xbox announce a handheld of some sorts would be amazing, but I highly doubt that will happen any time soon.

Due to me not having many of the original hardware now for older consoles and it being so expensive now for me to be able to get them to be able to play games on the original hardware I would have to say that it is now emulation all the way to be honest. If I ever was able to purchase any original hardware that would be amazing to play the games on the original rather than as an emulation, just for the nostalgia.

Running out of space for games in your collection?
Shortie replied to Smokey's topic in Gaming Forum
Luckily, I have not run into this issue as I don't have that many games physically that I haven't had the space for. I myself have cupboards with shelves that I keep my games in and because I don't buy them physical as much anymore, I find that I don't need the extra space. If there was a time that I would need the extra space at all I would probably buy a shelving unit that I would place and have them placed on there if needed so that it looked neat and went with the furniture in the room. -
For me I would definitely have to say the early 90's was the best era for me, I started gaming in the later 80's but the memories I have are more from the early 90's than any other time if I am honest. Games such as Sonic, Alex the Kidd, Mario are all games I have fond memories of with family and friends and for me they were games that helped me through difficult times as well. Now is not one I would say is bad as so much has changed now but nothing compares to the early 90's.

The last game I played was Fortnite for the new chapter and season which just came out a few days ago. I am really enjoying the new chapter and the new season with the new map and also the new mechanics and new weapons. Having a lot of fun with the new shockwave hammer if I am honest and with it being loot in chests and it being one that is quite frequent, it makes the game fun with that weapon.

It really depends for me if I am honest on what the game is and whether I liked it or not when it was first released. Some games really do well when they are remastered or re-released and I find they do well if they were super popular on their first release. Unfortunately, there are some games I would love to see remastered, and it doesn't seem like they ever will any time soon and that is Simpsons Road Rage and Simpsons Hit and Run. These would be games I would jump on in a heartbeat if they were remastered.

Is shipping unfinished games the future of gaming? 😥
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I often wonder this myself as well. Before the COVID 19 pandemic, we used to have more games that came out which were completed and in better shape than we ever do now if I am honest. It was like after the lockdowns started and the pandemic started, game developers started rushing games like they felt they needed to release them as soon as possible and I feel it was mainly because more people were wanting the games to be released as soon as possible and they gave into that pressure, and it's just become normal now. I feel game developers need to step back and really state that they will release when they feel it is ready and not just give into pressure like they have been doing. It only hurts them if they release them too early. -
Sonic Frontiers looks good, but don't know what to do
Shortie replied to GeppyX's topic in Video Games
You are not the only one when it comes to Sonic games and them not really explaining it too much and it being more of a you have to work it out. I myself have been in a situation where I have jumped on to play a Sonic game and then got stuck on something and not known what to do. I don't want to give up as I want to play the game, but it can be frustrating. I have found looking on YouTube for walkthroughs is always a great way to get past these areas that become a pain. Hopefully you manage to get past it and continue enjoying the game! -
I know exactly how you feel if I am honest! I remember when I started playing it when it came out on Steam and also on PlayStation and they were the only two places you could play it. I was terrible at the game and never managed to get a crown win at all. The good thing since the release of it to all platforms is that they now offer a lot more game modes than just the base ones and it's been some of the limited time modes I have managed to get crown wins on which I think is awesome. It means everyone at some point will have a chance to get a crown win on the game now.

Being that I am a huge fan of this character and the games and have been since I was younger, the one I am hoping to see at the Game Awards is Crash Bandicoot - Wumpa League. It's been rumored for a while now but as of, yet nothing has been released by the developers at all, so I am hoping it's because they are keeping it under wraps for the announcement on the 8th. Either way I will be looking out for this game.

This one is definitely not tough for me as I have a lot of favorite game characters from being a kid as well as to the present day. Some of my favorite game characters over the years are as follows Mario Wario Luigi Yoshi (love Yoshi) Sonic Tails AiAi (Super Monkey Ball) Jonesy (Fortnite) Lynx (Fortnite) Penny (Fortnite) Master Chief Marcus Fenix My list could go on and on to be honest lol. They are just to name some of them

I absolutely love Fall Guys, but I haven't played it in such a long time due to work being crazy. I missed out on the last season they had even though I had the battle pass as I was unaware of when the season was ending and so missed out as they do not seem to be very precise with a date of when the season will end much like other games. I haven't as of yet jumped on for the new season yet, but I have seen people playing and they seem to be really enjoying it. Hoping to get some time this weekend to jump on and check out the new season.

I remember Streets of Rage very well; it was an amazing game and was a game I played myself quite a bit with friends. I believe you can now get it on Xbox I think with Game Pass it was with at one point unless I am mistaken as I went back to it a little while back and it brought back a lot of memories when I played it again. If I had more time, I probably would play it a lot more like I used to when I was a kid but unfortunately, adulting is a thing.

I feel like I missed out on this game as I see so many people saying how good a game it is and that it really was where the 3D sonic games peaked. I unfortunately did not have a Dreamcast growing up and was only able to play using a friends at their house which was only sometimes for a few hours, and this wasn't a game I managed to play because of that. It's definitely a game I would love to check out now though if I was able to get it and the console, but I fear that it would cost me quite a bit to do that now.

It's always amazing when you get to clearing stuff out and you find something you either forgot you had or something that you haven't seen in a while to be honest, especially when it comes to something like games as after a while some games can be hard to get hold of if the console is pretty old so having them in your collection means you have them and after a while they could become quite rare. Perfect if you like to collect games as an avid gamer.

We have the PS Vita 2000 Series LCD which my son got for Christmas the year it was released. He used to play it a chunk when he first got it but after a while moved over to Xbox to game more and he never really bothered with it much anymore. We still have the console now and it's in storage but doesn't get used at all now. I guess it's there for times when he ever wants to go back to it for nostalgia purposes and I have told him to keep hold of it purely because it's an older console now.

For me it would have been the Dreamcast if I am honest. We never actually got one ourselves to share between me and my brothers and the only way I could play was to use a friend's console at their house. I remember having a ton of fun on the Dreamcast with friends at their house and often hoped my parents would get us one eventually, but it never happened due to lack of funds. It wasn't really one console I missed out on to be honest, but it was one we never had for ourselves.
