There are a few that used to be their mascots but have grown up to other platforms too. IIRC, both Crash and Spyro used to be mascots for PS, but are now multiplatform.

Horizon Zero Dawn & Forbidden West. Great story games, can't wait for the third!

You Can Try Wild Hearts For Free For 10 Hours Through EA Play, But...
kensonplays replied to Shagger's topic in Gaming News
The trailers looked fun. I was like "Monster Hunter has actual competition now!" But yea, I was playing on a Ryzen 7 5800x oc'ed to 4 Ghz, a 3070 Ti, and 64gb ram on an all SSD system. It was still struggling to hit 25-30 FPS at 1080p and 1440p. Not a very good look for the game. My EA Play trial was over before it released so I can't see if it's improved at all after launch. -
I tried it out for a couple hours or so. Not really my style with the lil changes and tweaks that make it different from Overwatch. It's great that it's F2P, but there's rarely any fun & enjoyable F2P games that I've personally liked. One F2P I wish hadn't died is Gigantic. It had ... SO much potential.

I am honestly very unhappy and unimpressed with Warframe. I spent around 2k hours, and 900 dollars or so (but that's over the course of nearly a decade). But their Cinematic quests lock you in, and I picked a bad frame, so I'm literally stuck and cannot finish the cinematic quest I'm on. They do not offer a way to reset progress to 0 or change frames, so I've uninstalled the game and gave it a negative review on Steam. I will likely never return unless they make changes to let you cancel cinematic quests even if you lose all progress. I cannot do any MP runs anymore, and since I'm stuck with a frame (dunno which one, haven't played in over 6 months really) that makes this quest near impossible ... I won't be returning.

What game would you never go back and play again?
kensonplays replied to Shortie's topic in Video Games
Probably ALL Battle Royales for me. I tried a few of them, a couple rounds each, not really my thing. I'd rather play Battlefront 2 and BF2042 with its oddly balanced maps and no balance on team comps. Half the time there's a whole team of high levels against low levels on the other side and they wipe the floor with us, but its still more enjoyable to me than literally all Battle Royales. -
Eh, I feel that skins aren't really needed for a console. If anything, sometimes it can mess with airflow and performance, so I'd rather have stock, or if needed add a fan blowing cool air towards it, but that's about it for me. Don't need a fancy 3D "case" like this xbox has. A simpler wrap would be more my speed, if I were to go that route.

Will you be picking up the iPhone 15?
kensonplays replied to Shortie's topic in Technology & Gadgets
Not very likely I will ever use an iPhone, unless there was some way to transfer at least my crucial paid apps from Android to iOS. Either with all the devs allowing it somehow, or getting a refund to re-purchase on the new OS. The last time I even tried iOS was like 6 years ago, and at that time it did not meet my needs at all. Nowadays, it's catching up to Android, so ... maybe? in the future? -
I listen to the Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West soundtracks a lot. They made some amazing soundtracks in certain parts of the game. One of my all-time favorite single-player games.

Hard choice. I would honestly have to say the Switch Lite (but the regular Switch is great). I get why they made a Lite, but to be honest, it wasn't really needed in the first place, the Switch itself is enough IMO.

Hopefully they will expand it somewhat, soon, like they did with Zero Dawn, and bring it to PC. I'm glad I was able to snag a PS5 to play this and avoid spoilers for years to come, but some of my friends do not have any consoles and don't ever plan to get one. The first game I did play on PC since I did not have any consoles at that time; so glad I was able to only avoid spoilers for a short bit since I got the first game on PC not knowing there was a second. So I was able to avoid all spoilers, which has made me happy.

It's always sad to see many gamers, or gaming developers, losing their jobs. I feel most gaming companies could probably be 100% remote, with no physical office to add to expenses. They should mostly be able to get away with that, or just a small suite in a mall or something for their headquarters to significantly lower their costs.

Do you feel battle royales are being overdone?
kensonplays replied to Shortie's topic in Video Games
Yes. It is oversaturated, and some of the thing that gained popularity with them have gotten their way into a bunch of other genres too. We don't need a "Battle Pass" in non-Battle-Royales, IMO. MMO's? I guess I can see some use for it in those, though. Don't need it for basically ANY other genre except BR and MMORPG's, in my humble opinion. I don't even play Battle Royales, since they're not really my style of game. -
If you could play only one console for the rest of your life.....
kensonplays replied to Smokey's topic in Video Games
Yep! That's what I like, you can through emulation (which is kinda a grey area) play any game. PC, Console, handheld, and more. I do not emulate a game unless I have legally paid for a copy of it. Like in the case of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate for the 3DS, which I do not own one. I bought a physical copy of it, even though I can't actually play it on a physical device. I can play on my PC though! -
I was not able to get Starfield until about a month or month and a half after its release, and it was difficult to avoid spoilers. But now that I have started playing through it, I enjoy it mostly. There are a couple of things I do not like about it, namely there is a lot language in it, and I rarely play games with a lot of it in there. Most the time I only play rated T games at most. There are a few exceptions like Starfield, and the upcoming game Deathground (aliens, but with dinos).

What are your thoughts on Overwatch 2 since it's release?
kensonplays replied to Shortie's topic in Video Games
I tried it for a little bit, I do not like it. Overwatch, the original, was much much better. Free to play invites hackers. So I probably will not return to overwatch ever. Which is too bad, I enjoyed overwatch once in a while with friends, and I usually play Junkrat because I liked the personality of the character. Unless they have plans to constantly update the game and keep preventing hackers from getting in ever, then I probably will not play it. I do not play against hackers who might have aimbot or wall hacks. -
If you could play only one console for the rest of your life.....
kensonplays replied to Smokey's topic in Video Games
If you count PC as a console… Then yes! LOL because you can also emulate game consoles if you wanted. So there is thousands and thousands of games available. -
I used to play Minecraft a lot, but lately I almost never load it up. I would say back in the days of 1.7 are when I was the most active with Minecraft. I used to be pretty active on a couple of private SMPs, but ever since Mixer shut down, which means my friends server also shut down around that time, I kinda lost interest all over again.

I personally would recommend playing the first game first and then the second game. I know this thread is a month old, but hopefully this will help other people that are looking for the same answer. Both games are amazing, and I am glad that I played the first game first, since there are references to the first game in the second game.

I played a short little bit here and there, but it did not really keep my attention. I thought since I enjoy racing games, I might enjoy a car sports game LOL. But not this one. It is all right, I can handle short bursts here and there but not for too long at once.

Suggestions for child friendly multiplayer games
kensonplays replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
There are private servers based on an old Disney game. It is called Toontown. They are free to play. There are currently two different servers with some changes: Toontown rewritten – the vanilla experience that Disney had with a few extremely minor quality of life tweaks and that is it. Once you select your tracks, you are stuck with them forever. corporate clash – the modernized experience. Much less grind, and you can basically have one toon that you can change your build whenever you want. -
Oh man, I love Spyro! I preordered the reignited trilogy on my Xbox, and the very minute that it was available to play. I was on it like for four to five hours until 5 AM LOL. And then later on I bought it on my Nintendo switch, and my PC. Now, I primarily played on my PC. Because it is easier to live broadcast direct for my PC. Have any of you heard of Glyde the Dragon? Spyro is basically it's spiritual predecessor in a sense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uf3NFJ2Lmjc <-- Glyde Trailer
